No 3G connection on N.6500.c

Hi everyone!
I have a contract with GSM provider, also having 3G connection. When I introduce 3G sim-card in 6500 classic, it does not connect me to internet!
What is the problem?
p.s. gsm provider says it is about the phone...

There's the problem. You're making the false assumption that the settings are put in place automatically when you insert a SIM. This is not so.
Have your operator send you the settings by text message.

[OSX 10.7] loosing bonjour connection Officejet Pro 6500

I have an Officejet Pro 6500 and can't get the printer to work flawlessly.
This is the problem:
After installed the printer successfully everything works fine, but after a few minutes (mostly around 10 - 15 minutes). OSX cannot find the printer anymore trough bonjour.
The only solution is to shutdown the printer and putting it back on. But when it's on for a while, the connection is lost again.
What did I try without any luck:
Changed the Wifi channel to a more clean channel for a more stable connection.
I gave the printer a static IP, added the printer by IP instead of bonjour, no problem anymore, but then scan to pc is not working when the bonjour connection is lost, so this is not an option!
I removed the printer completely from OSX and reinstalled everything
All firmware / drivers are the most recent
Tried with a network cable in the router instead of using Wifi
What did I discover:
I ran a ping to the ip address of the printer, and noticed the connection wasn't very stable (even when the printer is allmost on top of the router)
When the connection to the printer is lost for a second or two (due to wifi dropping the connection) I notice the OSX can't find the printer anymore through bonjour, I cannot open the webpage of the printer also (http://HPxxxxx.local.) but I still can open the webppage trough IP (http://192.168.x.x) when shutting down the printer and putting it on again, I can connect to the bonjour address again and OSX can find the printer again.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem or is it the crappy bonjour support of this printer ?
Is it possible the problem points to the wifi router/modem ? I allready bought a new router and will test this tommorow.
Please let me know if anyone had this problem and how it was fixed.

I'm having the same problem-- but also with an Epson printer, so I'm thinking it's probably interference. That's what I'm hearing from other sources. In my case, if I turn off the wireless extender I'm connected to, the printer connections are found again. Otherwise, if anyone has any ideas, I sure would appreciate it.

2 5508's connecting to 2 6500 switches

Looking to design for redundancy and mobility. My initial plan was to use LAG on both but I am confused on the setup because typcially all interfaces on these two switches are setup with HSRP. Does anybody have a matching configuration example they can share? Also looking to map multiple vlans to one SSID and using AD groups. Additional info is that this is for a large campus with multiple distribution areas but looking to just have consolidated WLC infrastructure at one location. Multiple GIG connections exist to all distribution points. Last note plan is to just use two of the 8 ports on each 5508.
All the guides aren't quite bringing together for me the best practice for this setup.

Well you must understand, that if the WLC1 fails, then there will be a temporary lose of service until the AP's on WLC1 fails to WLC2. This is for local mode ap's and this means that all traffic will be tunneled back to the WLC's and the layer 3 subnet needs to reside on the 6500's. If you have remote sites that you want ap's and maybe don't have over 50, you can setup the ap's in h-reap mode (flexconnect) and the subnet's the users get placed on is the local subnet at the remote site. So in this scenario, if WLC1 goes down, and remote site 1 has ap's on WLC1, the ap's stay up and traffic still flows normally. You have two options in h-reap mode.... centrally switched which means tunnel traffic back to the WLC or locally switched where traffic is switched locally at that site. When AP's are in local mode, the hard failure of the WLC will always disrupt the client devices just for a little (minute or less) until the AP's move to the other WLC. When WLC1 comes back online, the AP's will move back with little to no disruptions.
You will configure mobility between the two WLC's so that each WLC will know of clients that might roam to an AP on the other WLC. This also is required for the AP's to know about the other WLC.

If you want to distinguish your phones on your pc, better give two different names for your phone using Nokia PC Suite too, Atleast for N95, i can rename my phone's name with the help of Nokia PC Suite > Settings > Rename phone

Connection 10 gig between 6500 and Nexus 7009

I am not able to get link between a 10 gig interface with a 10gbase-lrm on a nexus 7k trying to connect to a 6500 with a 10 gig 10gbase-lx4 interface. I was told this would work. Anyone know if the interfaces are compatable. If not what interface do i need to get for the nexus 7k box.

ISE NEAT switch won't authenticate on Sup32-based 6500

I have a 3560-CG switch configured as a NEAT supplicant switch. It is working correctly when connected to a 3750G stack running 12.2(55)SE9 but not when connected to a 6500 Sup32-10G running 12.2(33)SXJ8
The authentication is seen in ISE but 802.1X seems to fail and then switches to MAB (not permitted). So there is some issue with the EAP-MD5 authentication stage
Another possible issue is that the switch then triggers a BPDU-Guard error disable state on the authenticating 6500. I assumed the role of "dot1x supplicant controlled transient" is to supress BPDU's until *successful* authentication, not just completion of the stage.
The authenticator switch reports:
Nov 18 15:29:57.822: CISP-ERROR (Gi4/32): CISP packet on interface Gi4/32 is dropped as supplicant is not a switch

That's what I thought but the again, from the 6500 config prompt I actually get echo replys(!) from the FWCTX, with capture enabled as:
access-list CAP permit ip any any
capture mgmt access-list CAP interface MGMT packet-length 1500 circular-buffer
But it shows blank and no hit counts. Same happens usind RTMonitor in ASDM (6.2.(2f)) some packets that are permited and routed correctly aren't actually noticed. I don't get any logging for the missing/dropped/denied echo replies from the FWCTX to the 6500 MSFC nor for the successful replies from the 6500 to the FWCTX withh ASDM Debugging logging on.

5508 WLC-6500 Series Switch Etherchannel

Hi,
I have a 5508 controller connected to a 6500 VSS pair. Below is the port channel configuration and port configuration. I am just wondering whether we still have to configure a load balancing method as cisco recommends “port-channel load-balance src-dst-ip” as best practice.
Does this still applicable for 5508 controller-6500 Series uplink as the etherchannel is L2 etherchannel?

PC Suite 7.0 fails to recognise connection

Hi,
I have installed the latest version of Nokia PC suite (version 7.0.8.2) and I am using Windows XP home edition with service pack 2.
My problem is that whenever I try to connect my phone (6500 slide) via the “connect your phone” link on the pc suite main screen, it fails to recognise that my laptop has any connections whatsoever i.e. USB, Bluetooth or infrared. Therefore, I cannot connect my phone and it directs me to the Nokia PC suite FAQs section which I have visited and I have tried many solutions from there. Whenever I connect my phone via the USB cable(CA-101), my laptop recognises it is connected but PC suite doesn’t. My phone also prompts me to select either the pc suite mode, printing or usb mass storage mode. When I do select the pc suite mode on my phone nothing happens.
Strange thing is that I was using PC suite before and it was working perfectly for a day or two.
Here is the list of things that I have tried:
1) Uninstalled and re-install pc suite program, did not work.
2) I have tried the 10 step solution posted by “mcrasm” which includes taking the sim out of the phone but pc suite still doesn’t seem to recognise a connection.
3) I have downloaded pc suite cleaner v3.6 which is not compatible with the latest version of pc suite v7.
4) I have tried to repair the usb cable drivers but this has not worked.
5) I have tried to repair nokia pc suite via control panel but this has not worked.
6) I have done a clean uninstall, i.e. using pc suite cleaner and then re-installed the program but the same problem still flares up
I would be grateful if you could help me out with this problem. I have looked in this forum for people who have similar problems but could not find any. I apologise if I am repeating a thread. Many thanks in advance.

Thank for your reply. I am using VISTA HOME PREMIUM, Dell Insprion 1525, 32 bit. Well, PCSuite tells me that the requested back up has been done. But when I sync the phone it only installs the contacts, applications and some other settings. But not the calendar and notes. I did this before with another laptop (also Vista) and it went well. Has this maybe to do with the new 30.0.015 ? Rather frustrating. Because as I said before,I can see the calendar and notes back up's in my files and more and less read them with notepad. But thats all.

Connectivity to WLC failed

We have a WLC connected to a 6500 Switch, when tried to enable LAG the connectivity goes down, the switch can't ping the controller nor the controller to the switch, we check tha cables, the minigybics, we changed them for new ones,the status of the interfaces is UP UP, we tried revert the config, using LAG disabled and no success, i can't reach the management interface. with the service port i can connect to the controller.

Make sure you have the management and ap-manager interface set to "0" untagged and also make sure the trunk ports are set to native vlan . Also make sure that the trunk port is set to channel-group X mode on.

AS5400XM LAN/WAN Connectivity

What is the best practice for conecting an AS5400XM with a channelized voice DS3 to the netowrk? We have multiple 6500's at the next layer and most devices connect to each of them for redundancy. What's the best way to do this? We also have a 6500 with CMM mods and we use multiple vlans to connect one line to each access 6500. Does this model make sense with a lone AS5400XM?

Thanks for the response. Do you see any problems with having one of the loopback interfaces on the AS5400xm having a /32 mask in the same subnet as a vlan interface with a /24 mask on the 6509 ?
My x's are more due to the fact that I don't know what the addresses wil be yet then to the fact that I am hiding them...but it is funny when they are hidden :)

Cisco Catalyst 6500 Supervisor Engine 2T Baseboard

i have just bought a Cisco 6506-E Chassis, it came out with only the SUP2T Engine on slot 5, i have already stacked 3 switches (3750-X) as my core, i want to replace them with the chassis the problem now is my company doesn't have money to buy the 48 port switch and the fibre switch for the chassis, help me link the SUP2T Engine with the stack and improve my network. i also have the 12 port netgear fibre switch. help with the configuration.

You obviously need to configure the ports etc. but the switch should recognise the module as long as you have an IOS that supports it.
There is nothing extra to do, you just slot the module in.
If you are connecting all your distribution switches to the 6500 then if you don't need a vlan/IP subnet in multiple buildings then you should use L3 connections to the 6500.
Note also that you may want to consider at some time in the future a second supervisor or another chassis as this 6500 with one supervisor is a single point of failure ie. if it goes then there is no communication between buildings.

Can't pair Windows 7 PC with 6500 slide using blue...

I am having problems connecting my Nokia 6500 slide to my new PC with Windows 7 using bluetooth. I am able to connect one time after installing Ovi Suite and sync with outlook, but when I try a second time, it can't connect to the phone. Reboot doesn't help.
I also tried to uninstall Ovi Suite and install PC Suite, but the exact same thing happened.
The IT department at the company I work for have not heard of similar issues.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

It seems that connection and sync is working until I try to use the Nokia Phone Browser under Win 7. After that the phone becomes unreachable via Bluetooth.
Phones firmware is on the latest version 10.0.0

6500's with 10GE mod

I'm about to do a data center migration and I'm replacing all of my core switching. My plan is two 6509's in the core and 4948-10GE's at the access layer to provide 10gig back to the core. I'm a little confused on the fiber connectors available on the 6500 modules. Are the 4948-10GE's able to connect to the 6500's using the WS-X6704-10GE module?

Hi Dennis,
The Cisco 4948-10GE is shipping out with X2-10GB-LR which is 10 Km on SMF, the WS-X6704-10GE is shippped out with XenPAK 10 GE Module. You can establish the optical connectivity between the 10GE-X2 and the XenPAK Module.
You can also refer to the attached ZIP File that contains a PDF on Cisco Catalyst 4900 Series Switch.
