No 3G, only edge?

Hi,
running on 3.1. It seems that since my upgrade, I can only connect in edge, I haven't seen a 3G connection since. I'm in Toronto with Rogers as a provider.
anyone else have this?

Try a reset. To reset the iPhone, press and hold the home and sleep/wake buttons until you see the Apple logo (ignore the slide to power off prompt). Else, give Rogers a call.

  • Coverage to 3G but only edge works ??? talking about Voicemail !

Hey all, okay i'm the one of the luckies who get the iphone activated in the store and worked except when i came home i realized that there is no Edge or 3G and voicemail dont work at all.
So i called them after 1 hour on the phone they get the edge working only. and i use to see nothing when i clicked the voicemail but now it calls rather than visual voicemail, so the ones whose voicemail dont work wanna make a call the costumer service because they are the one who made mine kind of working so i guess i ll be going back to store to yelling about stuff tomorrow and made them call the costumer service. any suggestion on 3G ?

I appears to me that the problem is not related to whether you are on the phone or not. Generally, it seems like there is a problem with the 3G network being EXTREMELY slow and non-responsive. When I press the reload button several times, sometimes is loads very quickly as I would expect on 3G.
    Still having this problem today.

  • WAAS 4.0 redirection: Only edge redirection for WAFS?

    Hello:
I am migrating from WAFS 3.0 to WAAS 4.0, but I am only interested in using WAFS for CIFS traffic (no other application optimizations at the moment).
In version 3 we do not use WCCP service 89 redirection at CORE side (because Edge uses a tunnelled connection through TCP port 4050, directly to the Core). We did not use a ?out-of-band network? for WAEs either.
Is it possible to maintain the same reditrection schema in version 4 (only for CIFS optimization)?
The CIFS optimization is still tunnelled between core and edge?
Is it possible to re-image a WAAS 4 WAE with WAFS 3 software image using recovery CD?(I do not care about loosing configuration)
    Thanks in advance.
    Gustavo.

    Gustavo,
In the current version of WAAS (4.0.1 or 4.0.3) we do not require WCCP at the Core. However, this will change in a future release.
At the Edge, it is required that the WAE is deployed on a separate subnet from the clients, even if you are only using the WAFS functionality.
To answer your last question, you can install WAFS 3.0 or WAAS 4.0 using the recovery CD method.

  • Only EDGE!

Why do I lose 3G OR LTE, and only get EDGE after my iphone 5s disconnects automatically from wifi? Why do I have to switch airplane mode on and off to get 3g or LTE back?

    You can try these:
Reset network settings- resets the network profiles on the phone
    or
Reset all settings- resets every setting and preference on the phone
Otherwise try, Pressing and holding the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears
Lastly, you mentioned 4G your reply, and your original post has 3G and LTE. Please note that LTE and 4G are two different communication standards, their identifying terms are not interchangable.

If you go to Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Network > Network mode - you can change from default "Dual mode" to "GSM" if you want.

  • Ipad 2 IOS 5 - No 3G... Only Edge

I have an Ipad 2 and was using IOS 4.3. It was working perfectly with Wifi and 3G.
Yesterday I updated to IOS 5 and since then I am not able to connect through 3G. I am only getting an EDGE network.. I tried reseting network and the Ipad itself.. but all in vain.
I called the carrier and it is fine.. Network is OK and SIM is fine...Everything is OK except that I get EDGE connection instead if 3G
    What should I do?

    I sorted it out...
Restore the ipad to from ITunes and restore it to factory settings
Everything will be wiped off and you will get a new ipad....
The 3G will be working... ( it worked for me)
Be sure to check the "set up as new Ipad" during the process...

  • Hello, i have iphone 3gs but i have i problem in 3G is not working (works only EDGE AND O )

Talk to your carrier. Maybe you are not within the 3G coverage area.

  • Only EDGE and edge and no GPRS or gprs

    Hi All,
    Anyone know why this maybe?
Im on the 8800 on o2 ireland and they cant tell me?
Is it a setting i need to tick or a bigger problem?
    Cheers,
    Sean

You can try resetting the device by removing the battery for 1 minute then replacing it. Did your carrier say you were in an area where they didn't have good coverage?

  • 2 edge servers and 2 front end servers?

    Good morning/afternoon/evening Technet,
We're about to go to production with Lync 2013 standard with the following.
    1. 2 front end servers w/ standard edition
    2. 2 edge servers
We want to set it up so that 1 front end and 1 edge server will be at a location of ours a couple miles away. We want to setup the other front end and edge server at our main office. For disaster recovery purposes I know that I can keep the two front ends
pooled but as far as the Edge servers go, would it be best to have 1 active and the other edge turned passive? Is there a way that I can put the two edge servers in the same pool?
Thanks for all the help guys and gals!
    -Liqsh0t

    Hi,
Each Site can use a separate Edge Server to support external login process.
However, it is possible to use single Edge server for both pools. The user from the other site has to connect to the only edge and then route though the WAN link to go to its own pool. Access Edge is responsible for proxying SIP traffic for remote clients
to the next hop, which can be a Director or a Lync pool.

  • Verizon Edge: Fully Explained, Plus a few questions

At first glance Verizon Edge sound good, with a second look it seems to be a huge scam, but with enough research it seems it depends on the scenario.
This document excludes information regarding new customers who haven't had 6 months of good payment etc.
This document makes some assumptions which are located at the bottom in the form of questions to be answered by a Verizon representative.
The Basic Shared Plan, Subsidized phones and how it all works.
    The Plan
Unlimited talk and text have become a given with Verizon, so it all comes down to data. The way the plans work are quite simple, there is a set price for the pool of data, For example my family has 6GB of data for $80. The price increases or decreases by $10 per 2GB(Not including very small amounts or large amounts) --- 10GB is $100, we'll use this number later.
After that you pay a flat price per device depending on the device(All devices use data from the same pool - when the data runs out you're charged $15 per 1GB over(rounded up to the next GB -- 4.05 rounds up to 5GB) or you have the option to upgrade your plan by 2GB for $10 more a month.
Smartphones are $40/month, basic phones are $30/month, tablets and other devices are $10/month
    The Phone
The typical subsidized smartphone is $200 when you sign up for a 2 year contract. This price can vary with special offers or more expensive versions of phones(ex: 64GB iPhone over the 16GB one)
So you just got a $600 phone for $200, but that doesn't make the phone a $200 phone, and that doesn't mean you only payed $200 either, the other $400 is technically still payed for by you.
The remainder of the phone cost is nested within the monthly flat-rate access charge.
$400 over 24 months = ~$16.67 (of the $40) per month is actually going towards the phone.YOU ALWAYS PAY THE FULL PRICE OF THE PHONE WHETHER YOU KNEW IT OR NOT.
The difference, whether you have your own phone or are month to month you will pay $40 access fee a month no matter what, so if you're not getting a subsidized phone every 2 years you're giving Verizon more money in a way.
Total Cost with the Shared Plan
    1 Person with 10GB Data($100 + $40) x 24months + $200 = $3,560
    2 People with 10GB Data
    ($100 + ($40 x 2)) x 24months + ($200 x 2) = $4,720
    3 People with 10GB Data
    ($100 + ($40 x 3)) x 24months + ($200 x 3) = $5,880
Verizon Edge (Check bottom for assumptions and questions.)
You still have unlimited talk and text and the data works the same way all for the exact same prices.
The monthly access charge for each device is where things change.
If you have 8GB of data in your pool or less, this charge is reduced by $10 ($40 --> $30)
If you have 10GB of data in your pool or more, this charge is reduced by $25($40 --> $15)In most cases it is cheaper to have 10GB while in the Verizon Edge program than to have less.If you have a really low amount of data or only have 1 or 2 people in your plan this may not be a good option for you.
These reduced prices only apply while you are still making payments on a Verizon Edge phone.
You do not pay a subsidized price for a phone although you are saving the same amount or more through the reduced access charge.
You will pay the full retail price of a phone over 24 months with no down payment. (ex: $600 phone = $25/month)
Total Cost with Verizon Edge (assuming 10GB and a $600 phone)
    1 Person($100 + ($15 + $25)) x 24months = $3,360
    2 People($100 + (($15 + $25) x 2)) x 24months = $4,320
    3 People($100 + (($15 + $25) x 3)) x 24months = $5,280
    What's Good About It?
If you have a 10GB plan or higher(Or upgrade to it), and your phone is $600:Your monthly cost will be EXACTLY the same..
    How do you benefit then?
You save the $200 you payed for a phone each 2 years.
You can change phones once a year instead of every two years and still have the same monthly cost as you do without Edge.
If you 'Edge Up' early you have to finish paying up to 50% of the phones cost right then(Normally payed off by 1 year)
    Edging UpWhen you 'Edge up':
50% or more of your phones total cost must have been payed off and it must be at least 30 days since the last Edge up.Typically a year or longer in unless you pay the remainder of the 50% at the time you Edge up
You must return your current Edge phone.
This phone must be in good condition as determined by Verizon.Or there will be a Fee
Must be Returned within 14 days of Edging upOr there will be a Fee
Switching to Verizon Edge (While in contract)
    Requirements for eligibility:
Contract must be from before 11/13/13
    Offer to switch expires 6/30/14
You must turn in your current Verizon phone(Subsidized phone on your current contract)
Like I said early, in the basic plan you technically pay for the other $400(more or less) through your monthly access charge.
In order to recoup this money they want the phone back.
In most cases this is at a lost to the customer, for example,
    $600 phone, $200 paid, $16.67/month toward the $400 after.
I'm 16 months completed which means I payed an estimated $466.67 of the $600 phone
    Questions
I assumed there isn't but: Is there monthly financing fee?
    Any other minor fee?
Do you pay the ~$30 activation fee when Edging up as you normally do when upgrading phones?
What happens once you've payed the full cost of the phone?
I understand that you no longer get the reduced monthly access charge.
My question is, if you payed off the full cost, do you have to return the phone anyway?
If your phone is not eligible to trade back(Damaged or other)
If you want to edge up which scenario is true:
There is a fee because the phone is damaged
You have to pay the full cost of your current phone(rather than 50%)
    other
    When switching to Verizon Edge:
If you choose not to give back your current phone or it is not in returnable condition what happens?
    I heard it's a $200 charge?
The remaining balance on my current phone would be $133.33 ($600 - $466.67) would that be the charge?
You are not eligible for switching to Verizon Edge?

A few corrections to your post.
When "edging up" you CAN pay the extra to get you to 50% of the cost of the phone. This information is from the Edge FAQ, #2 under "Contract and Payment Plan"
Can I pay more than my scheduled monthly Verizon Edge installment?
No, unless you are either seeking to Edge Up to a new device, which requires that at the time of the Edge Up transaction you pay at least 50% of the device following the initial 30 days of the Verizon Edge Agreement; or you are seeking to pay off 100% of your Verizon Edge Agreement, which you may do at any time.
For your point in #3, at least currently, you may be able to do an "Early Edge" if you are currently under contract. From #4 under "General Information". While it simply states you must return the phone on the line when placing your Edge order, I assume you must return the phone purchased when signing your current contract.
What is Early Edge Open Enrollment?
Early Edge Open Enrollment is a limited-time option to participate in the Verizon Edge program. You can get your choice of the latest smartphone sooner than you would under a traditional 2-yr contract.
If you’ve had your current phone since 2/1/14, you may be eligible to purchase a 4G LTE smartphone through the Verizon Edge program. You’ll pay for your phone in monthly payments.
To be eligible for Early Edge, you must meet all the following:
    Be eligible for Verizon Edge
Have had your phone since 2/1/14 or longer
Return your phone in good working condition*
The Early Edge Open Enrollment option will be available 2/13/14 - 6/30/14.
Note: You must return the phone that was on your line at the time you placed your Verizon Edge order, and it must be returned to Verizon Wireless within 14 days of receiving your new phone. If you do not, you may be charged a non-return fee of up to $200.
Also, your last statement is only valid if the phone active on the line is the phone you purchased when entering into the Edge agreement. You can only Edge Up by returning the phone you purchased on the Edge agreement(or authorized replacement phone such as warranty replacement or insurance replacement). You cannot purchase a smartphone, subsequently activate a basic phone on the Edge line and then return the basic phone when Edging up simply because it is the active phone on the line Edging Up.
Also from the Edge FAQ, #2 & #4 under "Edge Up and Returns"
What are the eligibility requirements to Edge Up with Verizon Edge?
To be eligible to Edge Up, you must:
Have had your Edge phone for at least 30 days
Have paid at least 50% of the full retail price of the phone
Return the Edge phone in good working condition with no significant damage, as determined by Verizon Wireless
How do I Edge Up when I'm ready?
There are three ways that you can Edge Up:
Bring your original Edge phone (or authorized replacement) to a Verizon Wireless retail location where a representative will help you complete the Edge Up process.
Complete the Edge Up process online using My Verizon.
Call Customer Service at 1-800-922-0204 and they’ll help you complete the Edge Up process over the phone.
Beginning April 13th, you’ll be able to complete the Edge Up process at select Verizon Wireless authorized retailers.
If your previous phone is an iPhone with iOS 7, you must disable Find My iPhone prior to sending it back. To disable Find My iPhone:
    Tap Settings.
    Tap iCloud.
    Tap Find My iPhone.
You’ve successfully disabled Find My iPhone.
Note: If you use My Verizon or Customer Service, you’ll need to ship your original Edge phone (or authorized replacement) back using the shipping label provided by Verizon Wireless when you complete the Edge Up process. You’ll be billed for the new phone when you Edge Up. However, once it’s determined by Verizon Wireless that your original Edge phone was returned in good working order, you will receive a credit back for the remainder owed on the original Edge phone.

  • How to embed Edge Animate 2014.1 object in html page?

Since there is no more *_edgePreload.js file, I don't know how to embed my animation into an html page. I don't wanna use iframe.

I am new to Edge Animate, and I've created my first project and I believe that it is nearly web ready. The problem is that I already have a site that was not built with Adobe products... again, I'm new here.
I have scoured the internet trying to find out how to implement this job into our site, but the only answers that I find are statements saying that it works with this builder or that one...or that it can be put in with Dreamweaver and instructions on how to do so.
We built this site using OptimizePress 2 (a site/page builder for WordPress) , and I would need to put in the created content that I am speaking of via a custom code/html block that I can put on the page in the location I desire the finished product to be located.
How do I go about adding the finished product to the site... is there a step by step list of instructions on how to do this? There will come a time soon where I will want to make pages using only Edge Animate content for things like landing pages, welcome pages, error pages, etc... but for now I would like to be able to put things in like this that I've built.
It's just a scrolling "ticker-style" schedule of our session hours. People seem to have trouble scrolling to find them, or even clicking on "Schedule" on our membership side, so we are putting it up in bright scrolling letters.
One of the guys that helps me with site work managed to get it here.... Trading Scheudle Roller but I need to get this to a code block (element as OP2 calls it) to display this in a particular location. I'm not sure if it's even done right the way he has it in there now
I'm sorry this got long winded, but any help...instruction or tutorial would be greatly appreciated.

  • App with Edge Animate

    Hello everybody,
I'm trying to make an app using only Edge Animate.
I have  Apple and Adobe account.
I went to the PhoneGap site, and I uploaded the .zip file is a file with all the folders generated by the Edge Animate .... but it did not work.
on my iPad is like installing and do nothing.
    can anyone help me?
    thank you

    Hi.
Following the bootstrap callout below.... how can one better organise your stages; currently all the files are in the same root dir.
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/edge/articles/bootstrapping-edge-compositions-with-bootstrapca llback.html
Was trying to reach out to Josh Hatwick, but cant.
It would be quite helpful if the staff can provide an amended example.zip, so that the wrapper loads "Page B" and "Page C", but each with its own folder also carrying a bkg image?
    Cheers.
The image added is important cause it seems to become hard coded as a string as below _edge.js file.
    { rect: ['413px', '609px', '317px', '118px', 'auto', 'auto'], id: 'r5', userClass: 'r', type: 'image', fill: ['rgba(0,0,0,0)',
    '/images/r5.png', '0px', '0px'] },

  • Verizon edge up

I edged up two of my phones only because your customer service told me I did not have to send in my old phones as they are broken! I made sure to double check about this before I hung up and edged up! You should follow through with what I was told, not charge me $600 in fees for no phones being returned, whether he was correct or not he represented Verizon and I should NOT be charged as I have been, Verizon is getting ridiculous about not following through with what us as customers are told!!

I agree Verizon Edge up is a joke, as is the same program being offered by other carriers. What happens is you get sucked into getting a phone at a cut rate price, but if for some reason the phone is not what you expected, well, tough luck...you can pay the remaining balance of a billion dollars to try something else...what a shame. never again. that being said it is the same if you take a discount price and sign for another 2 yrs. However when you go to edge up and they tell you, " well sir, you can only edge up to this phone or that phone." But you happen to not want what they are offering you....however, you need a phone, so you are handcuffed to whatever they want to do...
