NO 3G SERVICE AFTER 2.1 UPDATE!

Now, everytime I click on "enable 3G service" it says No Service on my screen. Has this happened to anyone else? Is this normal? And is there a way to fix it?!

I am in NYC and am having the same issue getting "No Signal" right after I updated to 2.1. The reset did not help my iPhone either. I was getting a strong 3G signal in NYC right before the update, so I am about 95% sure that this problem is related to the new software. I wish Apple would do something about this. I love Apple, but I feel like we are dealing with Microsoft with all of these issues we are having with the iPhone... For this kind of money, the phone should at least work as advertised. Apple, please come to the rescue!!! I am getting ****** and frustrated dealing with this.

Relatively self explanatory. When I go into Privacy settings I am unable to turn Location Servies on. The option appears, but I cannot slide the switch to 'on'. This has only happened after the ios7 update.

To address this issue, I would suggest restarting and/or resetting the iPhone:

No cellar service after 8.1 update

HI after finally updateing my iPad , against my better judgement (could not get certain apps) I have lost all cellular service. It continues to say searching and nada! Have replace the SIM card, spoken to Verizon, Apple, and the Apple Store. No one is standing behind this problem! I did nothing wrong! No music, no movies nothing yet now it seems hey want me to 1 use it wifi only or 2 buy another oneS, this is not okay
any help out there would e greatly appreciate.

No carrier service after iPhone software update

After updating the new software download on my iPhone 4S last night there was an error. The screen went black with some white lines through the centre. After restarting the phone I no longer have my carrier or any service. The phone is 'searching'. I have restarted, reset network settings, taken sim in and out, restored on the computer - still no luck.

by syncing it did not work, however, I guess it was just a flaw in upgrade process.
started it all over agin, and this time it worked!
using belgian sim card with my legally unlocked phone, network detected!
case solved!

Disruptions in network service after iOS7.1 update

Ever since iOS7.1 update on my iPhone 5, the 4G LTE icon has disappeared from the homepage. The 3G and 1x signals are spotty (at best). At times, I can't not hear the dial tone when dialing out. At times, I can't not hear the voice of caller when I slide to pick up the call. I brought these issues to 2 sales managers at a local coporate VZ store, none were helpful. The issues seemed non-existent when I was inside the store, but they persist after leaving the vicinity. I never had these issues with the previous iOS version. The sales managers seem clueless with the issues and try to chalk it up with VZ "service line" and then suggest for me to call VZ customer service hotline to work around the issue. I'm extremely not happy with the level of indifference I received from these so-called managers. It looks like I'd no longer be a VZ customer anytime soon.

I tried your chat - it was booked, no one available to help. You also took away the *228 option yet it's still on your website as am option.
My issue is that phone calls from my house do not go through or if they manage to connect, they drop. If I stand outside my house I have better luck. I know you can check our lines to see all this. This problem started a couple of weeks ago. Nothing has changed at our end. Nothing.

After 2.1 update still getting dropped calls

After 2.1 update I have dropped at least 15 Phone calls , the signal strength is usually on 5 bars 3g , the calls drop without warning (doesnt break up or destort voice), It also seems if I look at email while on a call it drops the call about 20 seconds later, another odd thing is the improved reception at my desk at work , used to get 1 bar on EDGE or no service , after 2.1 update I got 5 bars on 3g and the internet was pretty fast in the same spot but only during the morning time , I went back into the office about an hour later the bars dropped to 1 bar on EDGE/no service and the internet wouldnt even work , and now today when talking with my girlfriend (who has the same phone) the call quality has dropped , the speech sounds like she or I are talking through a voice changer where the words become incomprehensible or the sound totally drops momentarily and then returns to normal , so now im finding myself asking are you there over and over , do you think this phone will ever exhibit excellent voice quality and call reliablity or should I just go back to my old company?

Since updating my phone to the new 2.1 Firmware I have been seeing my phone at full bars which I normally don't see on a regulars bases like I do now but if I am having full bars why am I having connectivity issues like when I am talking on the phone it is constantly breaking up almost to the point it sounds like a blown speaker and when I send a SMS it pauses at the end of the loading box for about a minutes before the messages is completely sent. These 2 issues I have never experienced until right after the install of the new 2.1 Firmware

IPhone says searching for service after ios 7.1.1 update! HELP!

I updated my iPhone 5c to the iOS 7.1.1 last night and didn't think I would have any problems. I went to bed and woke up this morning with my phone in the top left corner saying "Searching..." and the the wifi symbol.
I went to check my setting to see if my data was off, but when I went into the settings app and clicked the tab labed "Celluar" the app crashed and took me back to the home screen. It does this everytime I try and go into that tab! So, I have no idea what it going on with my phone! I can't make calls, send texts through my phone number (I can still send iMessages when connected to wifi), the screen glitches and moves when I go into apps, the battery life is now terrible and drains really fast. Everything about my phone was perfectly fine until I updated it to the iOS 7.1.1, so I believe something must have went wrong when it was updating.
Overall these are my main problems:
-iPhone is "Searching" for phone service (which means I have no service so no calls or texts can be sent or recieved)
-Cellular tab in settings crashes
-Battery drains over 2x faster than normal
-Screen seems to glitch or move when I open apps

If you are having multiple issues with your iPhone after a recent update, your best course of action may be to back up your content to iTunes, restore the phone to factory settings, then test to see if the issues persist in its default config before bringing back your content from the backup. I may have found a solution! First, if you are having these problems, check the build of your iOS version. Go to Settings>General>About>Version. This should read 5.0.1 (9A405).
Upon closer inspection of search engines, I came accross a website titled "What is the difference between iOS 5.0.1 build 9A405 and 9A406?". As it transpires, there's a great deal of difference, for us 4S users anyway.

The difference between these builds seems to be a fix for a problem in the iPhone 4S not recognising SIM cards. Apple's own knowledge base article states the following;
"In certain situations, iPhone 4S may have difficulty recognizing a micro-SIM card, resulting in the following behaviors:
"Invalid SIM" or "No SIM Card installed" alert appears intermittently.
Status bar displays "No Service" or "Searching" in a location with good network coverage."
Apparently, because this is a small fix for a small number of users, the fix has not been released as iOS 5.0.2. Therefore, people who updated to 5.0.1 early, such as myself, can't simply update by checking on iTunes or Software Update. In order to receive this newer build we have to restore the phone to factory settings, confirm the build has been updated to 9A406, then restore from a backup.
I haven't attempted this yet as it may take some time, and I don't have enough until later in the week, but it anyone else tries this beforehand and finds it works, please let us know!

We had this happen with a ipad mini, took it back to person who worked on it, after a week with trying to get it working again, he replaced it. I will agree with the other replies take it back to repair place there must be something inside the phone that if you don't do repair excalty right it messes up all phone functions. Also I would give the repair person a time frame to either get it working or replace it.

I have been having a similar problem for the last few days.Without warning the signal will just completely duck out leaving the device searching for several minutes before settling on a no signal message.
Sometimes restarting the device, toggling data and 3g settings or toggling Airplane Mode will set things right. However, a lot of the time I've been left without a working phone.
I don't believe this is a SIM issue, as I had to change my SIM only one month ago for another signal related problem. Again any help would be appreciated here as well.

Should I run a full crawl after I have performed a Service Pack Update or Cumulative Update and run psconfig wizard?
The best practise coming out of Microsoft says you should only run a full crawl after a configuration change.
You should then run a continuous crawl thereafter.
The question then becomes is a Service Pack Update / Cumulative Update followed by psconfig wizard (or the PowerShell equivalent) considered to be a configuration change.
We were recently advised by Microsoft to install the July 2014 CU (and then run psconfig).
After that the continuous search did not pick up newly created files until a full crawl was run.
So should I run a full crawl after I have installed a Service Pack or Cumulative Update and run psconfig ?

The situations when you need to do full crawl is listed here,
A Search service application has just been created and the preconfigured content source
Local SharePoint sites have not been crawled yet.
Some other content source is new and has not been crawled yet.
A software update or service pack was installed on servers in the farm. See the instructions for the software update or service pack for more information.
A Search service application administrator, site collection administrator or tenant administrator added a new managed property or changed an existing managed property. A full crawl is required for the new or changed managed property to take effect.
You want to detect security changes that were made to local groups on a file share after the last full crawl of the file share.
You want to resolve consecutive incremental crawl failures. If an incremental crawl fails a large number of consecutive times at any level in a repository, the system removes the affected content from the search index.
Crawl rules have been added, deleted, or modified.
You want to repair a corrupted search index.
The credentials for the user account that is assigned to the default content access account have changed. A full crawl is required only if the permissions of this user account have changed.
My opinion is, it is always better to do a full crawl after a successful installation of service packs or product upgrades.
