• FBUS-HSE/H1 set fixed IP-Address

I like to connect the FBUS-HSE/H1 to a 2nd LAN-Card in the computer (the 1st accesses the factory-wide network and should not be used). This card has no DHCP server available. It is possible to set the FBUS-HSE/H1 to a fixed IP-address in the address space of the LAN-card ??

You can not set the FBUS-HSE/H1 with a fixed IP-Address, the linking device can only obtain the IP address via DHCP server. I suggest you try to use some DHCP software in the host side to have the IP address assigned to the linking device. We have ever used the Vicomsoft (www.vicomsoft.com) DHCP Server software to configure with FBUS-HSE/H1 linking device successfully.
On the other hand, since you have two LAN-cards (NICs) installed, you might need to pay attention that the current version of NI-FBUS CM or Configurator (for HSE version) can only connect to the first LAN-card; so I suggest you assign the factory-wide network to the 2nd card to avoid communication failures. Good news is that the next version (v3.2) of NI-FBUS software (CM and Configurator) will support multiple network interfaces (NICs).
Hope it helps.

• Not able to set static IP address after upgrading to 8.1 from 8.0

I have a dell vostro 1014 laptop. After upgrading to 8.1 from 8.0 , i am not able to give static IP address in the Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties of my Ethernet card properties.I am getting the following error:
"COM surrogate has stopped working error"
In order to access Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties
again , i need to restart the system
after restarting my system and when i access Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties i find that ip address, subnet mask and default gateway( in the
use following IP Address field) have given has become empty. But
preferred DNS server and alternate DNS server enteries are still there.I am able to fetch IP address from the DHCP server
Does anyone knows how to troubleshoot this problem?

This problem may occur due to loss of some system files while upgrading your dell vostro 1014 laptop from 8.0.to 8.1 or unsuccessful upgrade.
Try to refresh your laptop by inserting windows 8.1 installation disc.
To do this go to control panel->recovery->refresh your system without loosing any data
If you don't have any windows 8.1 installation disc just download from Microsoft website.
Make sure to choose correct architecture of your windows installation (x86 or x64) when you download.

• Hub V3 - Address conflict when trying to set fixed...

Within the hub GUI under devices you should be able to set the IP address each devices users everytime it connects. However when I try to change this I ger an error message the following error message. But when I check the DHCP table tab, no other device is using the address I specified. Sounds like a bug in the firmware. Is there a fix for this?
"Conflict -The IP address entered conflicts with a device using the same IP address on your home network. Please enter a different IP address."

The problem with some of the home hubs, is that they fail to release addresses allocated by DHCP, even after the lease expires.
You can sometimes get round the problem by deleting the device from the devices list.
You can change the DHCP range if you wish, to suit your purpose.

I am surprised that there is no way to change the network settings on the PC, so it does not use DHCP. This requirement would be needed in many commercial IT networks, where devices are given specific IP addresses, which are often printed on a label, and stuck to the device.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

• Unable to set the ip address for hosted network client after creating WIFI hotspot

Original Title: INTERNET CONNECTIVITY PROBLEM WITH MY LAPTOP WIFI HOTSPOT
HI all
I am able to use internet connection from my lap hotspot, when the internet source is Public or private wifi.
so I know the cmd window commands for hotspot and settings of client(sharing to hosted network client, assigning IP address etc.,)
but the problem I am facing is slight different
I am using my cdma wireless broadband datacard as my source internet connection(Reliance netconnect +)
when I try to create hotspot for this, as usual I am able to create the hotspot and able to share the internet to hostednework client.
but I am unable to set the ip address for hosted network client, if I try to set ip 192.169.137.1 and 255.255.255.0
as soon as I close the window, the ip address also disappears
when connect my android phone to that hotspot, it is able to connect but there is no internet connectivity.
when I check the hostednetwork client for packet transmission, both sent and received packet is happening., I mean transmitting
so what cause the failure in internet connectivity but success in hotspot connectivity?
check the screen shots...
can u help me..
its little complicated

• Setting sbRIO IP address without using link-local

Hello
I am working deployment of an image to sbRIO in production. Deploying the image works well, but setting up the sbRIO so that i can actually deploy the image does not. In production the deployment will deal with brand new sbRIO cards, so they will connect as DHCP/link-local.
The setup i have does not allow me to:
- Set the IP properties of the sbRIO manually.
- Set the host computer IP properties to DHCP/link-local
- Use a switch with DHCP
So at this point i can find the sbRIO with the System Configuration VI's. I can download the image to the sbRIO (if i manually set the IP address to static on the same subnet as the host). But i can not connect to the sbRIO with the System Configuration VI's unless i change the host computer IP settings, and so i cant set the IP settings on the sbRIO so that they match the host.
However, MAX seems to be able set the IP settings on the sbRIO just fine no matter if its using link-local or not. So it should be doable.
Does anyone have experience with this? How does MAX do it?
Ideally i would like to:
-Connect the (new) sbRIO
- Discover it (link-local)
- Set a static IP
- Write image
I also wonder if anyone else have seen strange behaviour in MAX when interacting with a sbRIO on a network card with multiple IP addresses? And if so, can it be fixed? In my case new IP settings doesnt settle on the sbRIO unless the (host) network card has max one IP address.

Ok, there are two different settings that involve DHCP, one being the public IP address that is assigned to the AirPort and the other being the IP addresses that are assigned to the computers on the private network.
Before doing the following, I would hard reset the AirPort Extreme by holding the reset button on the back for 5-10 seconds, just so we can get a default onfiguration.
If you run AirPort Utility, go to Manual Setup, and click on Internet your Connection Sharing at the bottom should be listed as Share a Public IP Address. This enables your AirPort to be the gateway and to receive a public IP address from your cable provider. This should really already be enabled since you did a hard reset.
Now test to make sure you have an internet connection. If not, then you need to reset your cable modem. If after resetting your cable modem you still can't get internet connection then you need to call your cable provider and have then do whatever they need to do to get you a new IP address.
Now that you have a working internet connection you need to setup your private network. Run AirPort Utility, click on Manual Setup, and go to the Internet tab again. Write down the DNS servers you see listed. For Configure IPv4, you need to change the setting from Using DHCP to Manually. Enter the IP address as 192.168.249.10, the subnet mask as 255.255.255.0, the router address as 192.168.249.10, and then use the DNS Servers you just wrote down.
Now click on the DHCP tab next to the Internet Connection tab and select 192.168.249.100 as your beginning DHCP address. Ending address could be something like 192.168.249.200. Update your AirPort and then see if things are working correctly.

• How do I open ports on my airport extreme and assign a fixed IP Address for a device connected to my network?

I recently had a security system installed in my house. One of the features is an EPAD which enables me to have a virtual keypad on my iphone, and computer to operate the alarm system. The technician was not familiar with Mac's and Airports. How do I open port 80 to 80 in my airport and assign a fixed IP address for the EPAD? Apparently this is what is needed to make this work.

There are three ranges of "strictly local" IP addresses reserved for local Network use:
192.168.xxx.yyy
172.16.xxx.yyy
10.xxx.yyy.zzz
What your Router does for you is to act as your agent on the Internet.Your requests are packaged up and forwarded on your behalf, and only when a response is expected is the response returned to your local IP address.
Directing Network Traffic to a Specific Computer on Your
Network (Port Mapping)
AirPort Extreme uses Network Address Translation (NAT) to share a single IP address with the computers that join the AirPort Extreme network. To provide Internet access to several computers with one IP address, NAT assigns private IP addresses to each computer on the AirPort Extreme network, and then matches these addresses with port numbers. The wireless device creates a port-to-private IP address table entry when a computer on your AirPort (private) network sends a request for information to the Internet.
If you’re using a web, AppleShare, or FTP server on your AirPort Extreme network, other computers initiate communication with your server. Because the Apple wireless device has no table entries for these requests, it has no way of directing the information to the appropriate computer on your AirPort network.
To ensure that requests are properly routed to your web, AppleShare, or FTP server, you need to establish a permanent IP address for your server and provide inbound port mapping information to your Apple wireless device.
To set up inbound port mapping:
1) Open AirPort Utility, select your wireless device, and then choose Base Station > Manual Setup, or double-click the device icon to open its configuration in a separate window. Enter the password if necessary.
2) Click the Advanced button, and then click Port Mapping.
3) Click the Add button and choose a service, such as Personal File Sharing, from the Service pop-up menu.

• Set Fixed Array Size

Hello. I am trying to develop a VI for an FPGA target and I'm trying to make it so whoever is using the VI can specify the size of an input array when they instantiate it (such as by having an input to the VI that says "max array size" or something). So far it seems like the only way to do something like this is to go into the VI itself and manually set the array size for each input array for the VI (i.e. open the VI, right click on each input array, select "Set Dimension SIze", choose "fixed", set number of elements). I'd like to have one point where I can set the size of all the arrays at once (since in my case they are all the same size), and let the person using the VI set it to the proper size for whatever application they are using it for (to be clear, let's say I have two uses for this VI, and in one case I have an input array of size 100 and in anohter use of size 1000, I'd like to be able to set these somehow instead of doing it through the dialog). Thanks.
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Unfortunately, per-call configuration of array size is not something that is supported today. This is a great idea, I would suggest that you post it on the FPGA Idea Exchange so we can get a feel for how many other people need this same feature.

• Setting Default Email address in Mail client

All,
With using .Mac accounting, I could only use [email protected] for sending email. However, what/how could I do if I want to set my email address to another one?
Thanks,
Kenny

Hi Kenny!
Do you only see one account there? Only the .mac one? Hmmm...what about if you click on your Accounts tab? How many accounts are there in the left window pane? And assuming you have two accounts there if you click on the account and then click on the Advanced tab in the main portion of the window is the box selected that says enable this account?
What I'm getting at is if you have two accounts that are enabled you should be able to select which one you want to send your mail from. The only thing I can think of that makes sense is if this other account is not enabled?
Let me know...Reg

• Setting the From Address for Reply in Mail

I am having trouble setting the default “From” address for replies in Mail. When I click on “Reply” the new window opens with a default mail address I do not wish to use. This can be changes by going into the drop down box and setting a different one. This is time consuming and it is easy to send from an inappropriate address.
“Help” menu says that the default address ( top one in the drop down box) can be changed and gives these instructions:
Set the From address
Your messages are sent from the account of the currently selected mailbox. If you have multiple email accounts, you can specify a different account to use for sending all messages, or select an account just for the message you’re writing.
To specify the account to use for sending all messages, choose Mail > Preferences, click Composing, and then choose an account from the “Send new messages from” pop-up menu.
To specify an account just for the message you’re writing, click the From pop-up menu, and then choose an email address.
To change the order in which addresses are listed in the pop-up menu, reorder the addresses in the “Email address” field in the Account Information pane of Mail account preferences.
When I open the Mail Account Preferences and go to Account Information there is no list of addresses in the “Email address” just the one for the particular account highlighted in the left column eg. “[email protected]” or “[email protected]” .
I tried to move the order of the accounts in the left hand box but nothing wants to move. Clicking and holding to push one account over another seems not to work.
Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this?
NB: This is about "Reply". Default for "New Message" is setting fine.

i found out how to do this finally!
1) set up google gmail account to forward your emails to (from the [email protected])
2) go to your gmail account
3) go to settings (cog in right hand corner)
4) go to 'accounts and import'
5) go to 'send mail as'
6) click 'Add another email address you own' - add your [email protected] address
7) google will send a verification email with code to that email address.
8) enter code
9) go back to gmail account >'send mail as' and select 'make default'
10) close mac 'mail' program and reopen it.
as long as you have gmail account selected as the primary account in MAIL - mail will now come throught as being sent from that [email protected] address!!
