No adding buddies option.

I can't add new buddies. Why is that?
I can't see the + sign on my buddy list and i also went to Buddies-Add Buddy, and i can't click on it.
I was thinking on reinstalling the app, but i'm not home and i don't have the CDs with me.
What should i do?

If the Buddy list has no Plus icon at the Bottom does it read "Bonjour" at the top ?
Bonjour Buddies are found from other Macs on your LAN.
You can not add Buddies to this List as they are auto-discovered.
Do you have an AIM/Apple Name or a Jabber/GoogleTalk Name entered in iChat ?
If so go to the Window menu and use the items there to show the Logged in Buddy List.

IChat Not Adding Buddies in Google Talk account

I recently upgraded to 10.5.8. I use Spanning Sync to sync iCal and Address Book with Google. I recently had to reset to my Google account information--delete all contacts and events and reload them to Google using Spanning Sync. I knew that I would have to re-add my Google Talk buddies in iChat. However, iChat will not add buddies. They appear, blink a few times, then disappear. Normally, Google Talk buddies appear, blink a few times, then say "Waiting for Authorization" under status. No dice. They just disappear.
Even if I invite my friends using the chat feature in Gmail through my browser, I cannot add buddies! However, my friends can add me without issue. I've done a great amount of research into the issue. I'm fairly confident its not a Feedbag 10 error and am trying to establish whether its a server issue rather than iChat.
Any input/suggestions are well appreciated.

If they have Full names and appear in the Address Book drag them from the Address Book to iChat.
iChat checks that the First Name Last Name info is not already in the Address Book
When iChat was an AIM only client this used to be Called Feedbag (yes FeedBag) Error 10

Even for me if I modify my Payload, the data controls do NOT get refreshed even if I refersh the way it was suggested in previous post. The only way is to manually add the new attribute details in the xml binding object. Since you already had previous payload, go to the corresponding page definition. You should see all the bindings already there. Just manualy add the new one.
NOW, if you really added lots of variables, then what we do is, for that Task, we regenerate a new TaskForm from auto wizard in a Brand new Project like TempDelProject. This project will have all the bindings created based on the latest payload. Then copy the bindings from this file to your old projects bindings file. There are couple of other files also, that should be updated with the new variables. This worked for us when we add more variables to the payload.

Error V0 104 while adding select option on customized screen

Hi all,
I have a screen added on the standard transaction IW21 (with selection screen definition and called like subscreen). On this screen I have some SELECT-OPTIONS and when I press the button of selecting multiple values, I get the following message: "Requested function & is not available here" (V0 104), where & is long number starting with %..I have added entries to the tables T185F and T185 with the transaction VFBS, but I dont know how to assign the Function codes to SELECT-OPTIONS..

Just an explanation: no matter the error message I get, the values are transferred correctly from the multiple selection screen to my screen.
I hope somebody got similar case and can give me some hint...

New Jabber user cannot see (only) one of the added buddies

Running ichat server, just a handful of OD users. OD is on the same machine as Ichat server. Nothing is limiting the use of Ichat by any of the OD users. Server G5 10.4.9, Clients managed Intel Imacs 10.4.9
Added a new user.
New user can add buddies in the Jabber List.
New user can see all but 1 of them in the List.
One of the buddies, lets say UserX, can see the new user in her Jabber List.
No matter what we have tried from within Ichat the new user cannot see UserX.
Both users are members of the same groups and have matching access abilities.
Any suggestions. Thanks for looking at this.

If I understand it this correctly, 'new user' can see all other buddies except one. And all the other users can see this buddy.
Lets call the new user "userX" and the one they cannot see "userY" and lets call your ichat server "jabber.myserver.com"
The configuration files for users buddylist is stored in the spool di rectorywhich you can find at /var/jabber/spool/. In there you will find a directory the matches the name of your ichat server. For me that is jabber.clayford.com. In this directory you will find one xml file for eash user of ichat server. Their file name is the OD logon name for the server.
Stop the ichat server service and make back up of any files you edit before you start.
Open the file for "userX.xml" In this file you will see some xml code that starts <item jid='[email protected]' subscription='xxxxxx'>. there will be a number of them, one for each buddy.
Mke sure the xxxxxx is the word 'both' [with the quotes] and if the text ask='subscribe' exists in that line before the >,remove it. So that definition should now be: <item jid='[email protected]' subscription='both'>.
Save the file and now open the file userY.xml and check that the item <item jid='[email protected]' subscription='both'> exists.
Restart the ichat server and the problem should be fixed...

Adding Selection Options Fields in Report(Using Query)

how can we add Selection Fields Options in Query Reports Which we create using SQ01. I need a default option by which we can add all the selection option given by user.

Do you have anything defined in the 'Calcs' section?
If so, any fields returned by the query that are not included in the calculation will be automatically added to the Group fields (using the same logic as required with calculations/group by in any SQL query). The fields won't be able to be removed from the Group list unless the Calc is also removed.

Adding DHCP options into bootpd.plist

Hello All,
I'm having issues inserting DHCP options 66 and 67 into the /etc/bootpd.plist file. I'm a bit baffled by this task and it's not rocket science so I really don't understand why this is not working the way it should.
Goal:
I'm setting up a dual platform imaging server for the company I work for using DeployStudio. I have the mac side imaging 100% perfectly with no issues. Now, the PC side is a different story. I can get the PC machines to PXE boot just fine, DHCP IP address received, then continues to load the imaging applications console and then hangs with a tftp error.
We are running Mountain Lion 10.8.4 and using OS X Server 2.2.1
the options I added are 66 and 67.
Option 66:
10.10.10.2 is the IP address I want to use.
Option 67:
pxelinux.0
I've added my bootpd.plist file below and bolded the data I entered into the file. I don't even know if I entered the data into the right place or it needs to go somewhere else. I really don't know if i'm inserting the correct data I need into options 66 and 67. I've sat there and read the man page for bootpd and it provided very little to no information on the topic.

Been reading many of your posts and they all seem quite helpful, but I'm also stuck trying to configure options 66 & 67.
I'm running Server 3.1.2 on Mavericks, your utility to generate the options seems to work, but I'm not sure where to place them in the file, tried a few different locations without success. Here is my current bootpd.plist:

I have a Fog server handling my Windows imaging on 172.16.10.19, using pxelinux.0 (all tested through a TFTP client), but when I boot a Dell into PXE, it finds an IP address but the output for the TFTP server looks like this:
TFTP.
Then it just exits, before it should show the IP address of the TFTP server.
I do have the option of using DHCP on a Windows Server VM, but I'd rather have my Mac Mini do it.

Aim on iChat, Adding Buddies

This is the first time i've had this problem, mainly because I don't use aim so much, but I have a few friends that use it and only aim. Anyways last night I tried to add a buddy.. her name came up on my friends list, flashed a few times, then just dissappeared. I added her again and the same thing happened.. I went on Aim express and she was on my buddy list on ACTUAL aim. I don't understand why iChat is doing this too me! Please help! : (

Had the same problem myself. Oddly enough it says this topic is answered but I don't see any resolution... I tinkered around and logged out, then enabled SSL in the Server settings under Accounts in the Preferences. Logged back in and now my AIM buddies are adding in as expected.

System.MissingMethodException after adding an optional parameter

I am getting error of System.MissingMethodException after I have an optional parameter in one component and the other component which call it was not build as it call it with old number of parameters.
Only component in which parameter is added was build an deployed as patch. The calling component is old as there is no change in it.
When the calling component run it gives error :

As far as i know it should not raise an error as new parameter is optional. One more thing calling component(EXE) run as windows service.
we found an very wired workaround to make it run. By Removing the changed component once and run calling component which will say DLL not found. The place the same DLL again and calling component works fine:).
I think i am missing some internals of .net.
Let me know if more info needed.

Adding another option in the list option in the relation ship tab

I am working on creating another option in the list of option for the relations ship tab for the account details of Org type.
I was able to create the new Option and i have create a another event which is assign int eh application set but and it is showing in the detail area1 of the relations but when I choose that option no even it is getting fired. I have cloed the further relation ship option i cloned the structure and class and even but even then it is not getting fired. I have assigned the view linkkage ACC_REL but even then it is not getting fired. Please send me the list of table in which we need to do the setting.

Adding sharing options from within a page

We would like to add sharing options like "Tweet it" or "Email it" from within a page and not dependant on the viewer
is this doable ?
If not, can we have a button inside the page which triggers the viewer's sharing option ?

You'll have to code it as a hyperlink yourself that navigates out of DPS to the browser to do the share. I believe National Geographic does this on some pages with a Twitter and FB icon. There's no way to trigger the share menu via a button on the page.

Acrobat 8 Professional crashes while adding security options

I am trying to set the security options in a document I converted using the PDF Maker in MS Word 2003. Every time I try this, I get a message saying "Acrobat has encountered a problem and must close." Help???

I don't know what you mean by "with the security off". I am creating the document within MS Word, but once it has been converted to PDF I open Acrobat and set all the options from within Acrobat. I usually set some document options such as how it should open, etc. and then I set the security options. I can create the PDF using either the PDF Maker icon on the Word toolbar or use the print to the Adobe PDF printer option. It's after I open the document in Acrobat and start working with the security options. I can set how the document opens, but it hangs up when I go to the security tab of that same menu.
Here is a step by step account of what I am doing:
I open my document in MS Word, then I either choose the icon that on the toolbar to convert to PDF or I choose the Adobe PDF printer from my list of printers from the "print" menu.
I close the document and then open the PDF version in Adobe Acrobat.
I then choose from the File menu the Properties option and start to make my setting there, i.e. how the document opens, magnification, etc. and then I choose the "security" tab to set the security options.
I can get as far as the actually password menu and then it freezes when either I get to that menu or I try to click the checkbox to set a password for no copying, editing, etc.
The same sequence of events happens no matter whether I use the PDF Maker icon in MS Word or use the "print to" the PDF printer in MS Word.

No adding buddies option.
