No Adobe Flash Player.pkg to click on in my download.

I couldn't install the latest Flashplayer update. The troubleshooting instructions said to uninstall the existing version of Flashplayer; did that. The installer still didn't work. I tried downloading the install package four times. None of them worked. The troubleshooting instructions told me to open the installer, right-click on the Adobe Flashplayer icon, select "Show package contents," go to "Resources," then double-click on the Adobe Flash Player.pkg.
There is no Adobe Flash Player.pkg in the Resources folder, or in any other folder there. There are only three things in the Resources folder: app.bundle, app.icns, and the en.lproj folder (with only two things in that).
I deleted all of the downloads. then downloaded a new installer from Adobe again. Same results.
No other programs are open when I do this. I close everything before starting the install process.
In each instance, the installer will open, and the progress bar will start but never progress past the 7% mark, at which point a time-out occurs, and my browser re-opens to a Survey from Adobe asking me to rate my experience, and asking whether I was able to accomplish what I was trying to do.
You can imagine my response.
Every time there is an update to Flashplayer from Adobe, it never works. There is always, always trouble of some sort.
I'm on a Mac running OS X version 10.7.5.
I use as my browser Safari version 6.0.3.
I'm trying to install Flashplayer version 11.7.700.169
Thank you for any help you might give me!

  • Problem with Adobe Flash Player.pkg

    Hello Chris,
Thank you for your reply. I have managed to get to "Adobe Flash Player.pkg" but have got stuck again! It says "Select a Destination" and shows an icon of iBook HD together with a big red exclamation mark. When I click on to this, it says "You cannot install Plugin on this volume. A newer version of this software already exists on this volume." Apart from the fact that I am way out of my depth with all these things, the foregoing remark is particularly puzzling because I am quite sure I successfully UNinstalled the previous Flashplayer. I would be most grateful if you could offer any further advice.

It sounds like you might not have gotten a proper uninstall to occur.  Could you try uninstalling again?
    Thanks,

  • I've had a problem installing Adobe Flash Player; also with Firefox. Tried to download a new FF; it goes crazy! keeps repeating an opening page! Now I don't have FF installed, or Flashplayer, and I think these problems are connected. Help!

Mac OSX 10.5.8 system. Problems have been ongoing with the Firefox I had installed a while ago: would open browser in Safari, and FF would take over; keep asking me to personalize my browser program. In truth, Firefox was kind of "taking over", and I wasn't happy with it. Usually open the internet in Safari.
Present problems started with trying to download, install and open a few new games. Kept telling me I needed to install Adobe Flashplayer. I could download it, but it wouldn't install. Downloaded both the Flashplayer installer AND the Flashplayer uninstaller a number of times. Today, I decided to get rid of the Firefox on my hard drive and download a newer version - then try again to download Flashplayer and install. The new FF download just kept opening a new browser page.

  • Using iPad (6.01), can't run videos requiring Adobe Flash Player (AFP). When I try to download the AFP sw, I receive a msg stating that AFP is not supported by my device, though it is supported by Apple Desktops & mobile devices! Any suggestions?

    gghh

There is no Flash Player for iOS devices. Adobe has to make a Flash player for each different computing platform. Just because Flash exists for Mac and Windows computers, does not automatically mean it exists for completely different mobile operating systems.
Adobe ceased development of Flash for all mobile devices way back in November 2011. It has even been removed from Android devices as of August 2012.
    Flash on mobile is dead.

  • In recent weeks many websites show "blocked plug-in". Clicking onto it reveals a notice that my Adobe Flash Player needs updating but I'm not able to do it because Step 3  of the update has "blocked plug-in" in it.

In recent weeks many websites on my OS X (10.6.8) have been showing a white patch with "blocked plug-in" on it preventing access to all of the site. When I
click onto it a message appears stating that my Adobe Flash Player needs updating and when I have downloaded the upgrade & moved  to Step 3 I get
a "blocked plug in" on it as well. How do I resolve this issue?
    Archeee

When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
You can also try these illustrated instructions from C F McBlob to perform a full "clean install", which will resolve the "Blocked Plug-in" message when trying to update via the GUI updater from Adobe.
Use the FULL installer for 12.0.0.44:  Flash Player 12 (Mac OS X)
And the instructons are here: Snow Leopard Clean Install.pdf

I think this exception is thrown if I click on my hard drive’s symbol in the installer.
I have the same problem when I try to install Microsoft’s last Office update. Maybe there is a connection?
I tried several older versions of the Adobe Flash Player installer, but they didn't work as well.
Perhaps we have some kind of "Mavericks" problem here?
Any help would be highly appreciated!
Thank you very much in advance.
    Kind regards
    Oliver

    Finally found the issue here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3889562?tstart=0
Somehow a empty file /System/Library/CoreServices/ServerVersion.plist has been created.
If I understand this right this file is only needed if you use Mac OS X Server.
As suggested in the support forum I deleted the file (renamed it to _ServerVersion.plist) and after that every installation, including Adobe Flash Player and Office 2011 update worked!
    Thank you very much,
    Kind regards,
    Oliver

  • Adobe Flash Player Settings Problem

Hi I'm having problems selecting things inside of "Adobe
    Flash Player Settings."
When ever i right click on a flash instance, say a youtube
video and select settings, I get no response from box that appears
no matter where I click. Even when I click close I get no response.
I have a Mac Book Pro running os 10.4.11
I have the newest version of Flash Player 10
    I have Java 5
I have tried this in both Firefox and Safari
When I created a new account on my computer and opened
youtube i was able to change settings inside of panel.
Any help would be wonderful I have googled and searched these
forums a million times looking for help and have found nothing
    helpful

TWEAK DISCOVERED for Flash Player 10 to save local settings!!
    I was digging around in:
    ~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/www.macromedia.com/bin/fpupdatepl/
    and I discovered:
    Adobe Flash Player.pkg
If you Right Click (or Control + Click) the Package and then select 'Show Package Contents' this will open a new window.
    Then navigate to:
    Contents/Resources/
There you will find a file:
    Adobe Flash Player.info
Open this file with text edit (or your app of choice)
On about the fourth line from the bottom look for:
    OverwritePermissions NO
    Change this to:
    OverwritePermissions YES
    A NOTE OF CAUTION
I have not fully tested this change, but did find that after I modified the local settings for the Flash Player, then restarted Safari that the settings remained the same.
    Good Luck!

  • Problems installing Adobe Flash Player 14.0.0.125.

Can not get my MacBook Pro 17" to install Adobe Flash Player 14.0.0.125.  Our iMac installed it.
The system hangs forever looking for resources

Hopefully, you'll be installing the 14.0.0.145 Flash update very soon - however the same problem you experienced persists with that.
Fortunately there is a simple solution.
There appears to be a problem with Adobe Flash Player Install Manager - the simple answer is to let the system install the flash update instead:
When you use the Flash updater, it downloads a disk image to a temp folder (inside /private/var/folders but you don't need to know that). This is automatically mounted (briefly) while the app 'Adobe Flash Player Install Manager' launches. Adobe Flash Player Install Manager is supposed to manage the whole instillation but in some case it gets stuck. If this process fails for you (such as hanging on 95% completion), there is a very simple route forward which doesn't require you to open your browser or manually download anything.
It only requires 3 steps and you can be 100% sure you are getting the correct update - the one Adobe tried to install but failed. I've broken these down into detailed but very simple substeps (further down this post) for anybody who is unsure, but experienced users can probably just follow these three steps:
Force quit Adobe Flash Player Install Manager
Locate and mount the Flash Player Installer disk image with Disk Utility
Locate the Adobe Flash Player installer package within the Install Manager app and run the installation from Finder
    Hope this helps. Enjoy.
Those steps in detail (as carried out in OSX 10.6.8).
    1. Force quit Adobe Flash Player Install Manager
Press these three keys together: Cmd + Option (or Alt) + esc
Select Adobe Flash Player Install Manager in the popup window titled "Force Quit Applications"
Hit return or click the button labelled "Force Quit"
    2. Locate and mount the Flash Player Installer disk image with Disk Utility
Open Disk Utility (in Applications/Utilities folder or find it with Spotlight)
On the left hand side, your attached drives and mounted volumes are listed above a horizontal line. Below that line you should see one or more disk images (named e.g. something.dmg). These are recently accessed disk images - including one containing the adobe updater.
At or near the bottom of that list you should see something called decryptedFile.dmg
Under that you might see a (greyed out) volume image called Flash Player
Double click decryptedFile.dmg (or the Flash Player volume if you can see it - it makes no difference).
This should mount a volume titled "Flash Player" and automatically open a finder window showing the contents.
The volume "Flash Player" will show up in your Finder sidebar and on your desktop (unless you've chosen not to show External Disks in Finder preferences)
    3. Locate the Adobe Flash Player installer package and run the installation from Finder
You should by now have a Finder window open showing the contents of the volume "Flash Player". If not, open a new Finder window and click on Flash Player in the sidebar. The sole contents are an app called Install Adobe Flash Player.
Right click the item "Install Adobe Flash Player" and select "Show Package Contents" from the contextual menu that appears.
This opens a new window showing a folder called "Contents". Open it by double clicking to reveal the contents including a folder called "Resources".
Locate and open the folder "Resources" and look for a file called Adobe Flash Player (Adobe Flash Player.pkg)
This is the Installer Package for the update. Double Click it.
Don't be put off by the words "Welcome to the Adobe Flash Player Installer" - this is not the Adobe Flash Install Manager (the one that failed you earlier) this is Apple's "Installer" app.
Follow the steps to the end then eject the volume Flash Player in the normal way (e.g. Finder sidebar)
Open the Flash Player control panel to check the current version has now been updated.
Don't be put off by "PPAPI Plug-in is not installed" - you can ignore it.
Some steps may go differently if you are running a different version of Mac OS X  - I use 10.6.8

problems installing or running Adobe® Flash® Player for safari when trying to install Adobe Flash Player.pkg it asks to quit Dash Board client then brings up Exclamation mark up and quits install ??????

Adobe Flash is pretty much a 32-bit application. You may be able to fix the problem by going into your Applications folder, and right-clicking on Safari. There is a check box that will allow you to run Safari in 32-bit mode. Try that and see if Flash works in Safari.
I have retired my iMac, and have an HP now, but a friend helped me with the same problem when I upgraded to Snow Leopard. My PC seems to have just one 64-bit browser, that being Internet Explorer. I am using IE9 Beta in 64-bit, and the Beta for Flash "Square" in 64-bit seems to work fine. See link below:

  • I cannot download adobe flash player to my comuter

This problem has been occurring and reoccurring since November 2012, I receive a message on my desktop stating that I need to update my adobe flash player. I click to do this and am transported to the adobe flash player download site. I click the "download now" tab and receive the download instructions page. When the popup window appears I select "save file" as instructed. I am then transported to the Firefox download list where I double click the flash player install highlighted in blue. The next pop up window asks if I want to "run file". I click "run file" and nothing happens. (alternatively I get a pop up window that asks me to continue if I am the administrator and I click "continue" and nothing happens) The pop up windows previously mentioned list the source of the download as C:/users/"my name"/downloads and when I click "details" it says (sic) C:/users/"my name"/ downloads remove C:/file/users etc. Sometimes I will get a message saying file cannot be found at C:/users etc. Of course not, because the file is in firefox downloads and not in my user download file. Is there a way to fix this? The flash player is not listed under firefox plugins so I cannot disable it or change it. Incidentally, other download files for updates etc are working without issues, I did have to disable the adobe reader plug in so that I can view PDF files on other internet sites. I have Vista sP2 on Dell XPS 420 with Firfox version 18.01

You actually have the most Recent Flash player, so I'm not sure why you are getting a notice. Try to Reset Firefox [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]]
