No After Effects in updater

I am installing some of my apps from CC on my work PC. When I installed the updater, everything seemed to be there for download except After Effects. I looked everywhere for it, but it simply isn't there. Any ideas?

Programs won't display if they will not install on your computer

  • After Effects CS6 Update fails with the code (U43M1D204)

I was just downloading and installing the latest updates on both my windows workstation and my Apple MBP.  Everything went fine on the windows machine but I keep getting the following error when my MBP attempts to update After Effects CS6:
    Update Failed
The download appears corrupted. Please try again after a few minutes.
    (U43M1D204)
I am running the latest version of Yosemite (10.10.2).  Is there some half downloaded file I can delete to make this work?  I've waited.  I've rebooted.  I'm VERY reluctant to delete my current installation of CS6 if this is what is required.  I'm an instructor at a local community college.  The college currently only runs CS6.  I teach an animation class that uses After Effects and as such I need CS6 working on my MBP.  If this update is non critical I'll just let it ride.  Oh, yea and I also keep AE CC and AE CC 2014 for no other reason than I can take a students CC 2014 file all the way back to CS6 so they can work in class.  I'm guessing I'll need to add CC 2015 or what ever they call it so I will have 4 installations of AE just to do file conversions..... but that is another thread.
Any help on the current install issue would be appreciated

What update is it? What current version of CS6 do you have?
It may be a permissions thing. Mac OSX goes all screwy in the permissions whenever it updates. Try fixing that first. fixing permissions problem that impedes start of Adobe applications

  • After Effects CC Update Issues

I was wondering, if any other customers were having issues with After Effects CC updating?  When I've attempted to do the update through the cloud. There is a pop up window that says, " Unable to extract the downloaded files. Press Retry to download again. (U44M1I210)".  What does this code mean?

    Hi Predacon757,
You can try to update the application by installing the 12.2 Patch from teh Adobe Website.
mentioned below are the links for windows & MAC.
    For windows
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5705
    For MAC
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5704
If you are not able to install the updates even through the patch then try removing the Adobe extension manager & then re run the patch. Also you can try running the patch in the root account in MAC or the hidden admin account in windows.
    Thanks

    Memory  8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
    Software  OS X 10.9.2 (13C64)
I am the administrator of this machine with complete and full access.
    Situation:
I tried to open After Effects and received this notification:
I then proceeded to uninstall AE CC and reinstall using the Adobe CC Desktop App.
Upon trying to reopen AE, I received the same message.
I then started googling to troubleshoot and came upon this update:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=5735&fileID=5749
Downloaded and proceeded to install which then brought up this issue:
Which then lead me to doing more troubleshooting via google.  I found this solution:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1369476
    which suggests that I:
    Delete or rename the  <Startup Disk>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdaterInventory/1.0/AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat
NOTE:  The file path works up until you get to the folder AAMUpdaterInventory.  The folder is wrong.  It is AAMUpdater (at least on my mac).
None the less, I proceed and delete the file.
    I try reinstalling:
Adobe After Effects CC (12.2.1) update
And get the same message as before (shown above)
I RETRY the same solution but this time rename it.  Same resulting error.
I RETRY the same solution but this time utilize the terminal to find the file and delete it (per this suggestion: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5878107)
Terminal can't find the files (for either spellings of AAMUpdaterInventory / AAMUpdater).
Further troubleshooting and I follow this solution:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/kevinmonahan/2014/02/12/prevent-crash-on-export-with-premiere-pro-c c-adobe-media-encoder-cc/
I uninstall and reinstall the Adobe CC desktop app.
    Run the program.  Doesn't work.
    Run the update.  Same Error.
I contact Adobe Customer Support.  I end up in a screen share with some Adobe representative with his previous customers computer screen still open in the screen share program, basically showing me everything on her computer... and the agent sits there pretty much helpless blaming her for 15 minutes.  Clearly helpful.  (breach of security?)
I have literally tried every avenue of troubleshooting to resolve this and it's beginning to seem hopeless.
Who's got some useful solutions for me?

  • After Effects not updating to 11.0.3 or 12.0.1 from 11.0.2 on Mavericks

    Hi,
I just update to Mavericks last night and today when I tried to open after effects, it tells me my version of operating system is not compatible with AE. I looked up google to find a remedy for this solution. I then came across the update of 11.0.3 from adobe site, aswel as the 12.0.1, but found no luck. It wont let me update it and gives me an error number
    Error Code: U44M2P28
    please help!!!

If you're running After Effects CS6 (11.0), the After Effects CC (12.0.1) update is not relevant to you.
To install the After Effects CS6 (11.0.3) update, do the following:
    1. Restart your computer.
    2. Open Adobe Bridge and no other applications.
    3. In Bridge, choose Help > Updates.
If that doesn't work, uninstall After Effects CS6, restart your computer, reinstall After Effects CS6 (11.0.0), and then do the three steps above again.

Epicgymnast12 which update are you trying to download and install exactly?  Can you open Adobe After Effects?  Finally what operating system do you have installed?

  • None of my updates except after effects will update

When I try to transfer a photo from Lightroom to Photoshop, Photoshop will open but I get no picture.  Nor will any image open in Photoshop.
I noticed I had an update reminder so thought that might be why.  However none of  my updates will install apart from after effects though I have retried numerous times.  The message just tels me to contact customer support

    Your PS issue:
I can’t see my images and only get a black screen (or strange pattern).
For the update issues, run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, reinstall, try again.

  • After effect cc updates could not be applied

Hi, just tried to make after effect cc working on osx, when I installed the adobepatchinstaller, it just kept saying UPDATE FAILED.
Does anyone have the same problem?

What version of OSX? What version of AE? Looks like CS6 but I may be wrong? What else changed on your system since the last update? Where did you get the download manager? Lots more detail is going to be required to come up with a possible solution.

  • After Effects CC Update Error

When I go to update AE CC I get the error below:
Adobe After Effects CC (12.1) update
    Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
Not sure what I need to do to resolve this issue.

Try the direct download for the update from this page (it's listed as version 12.1 underneath CS3).
For the curious, I found that page via the link on this page.

  • After Effects manual update issue

im using OSX mavericks (version 10.9.1), and it said that i couldn't use it, so i tried to force the update and i got this error
After Effects warning: Could not rename the file 'Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/12.2/Workspaces.10227.1407351516659361.xml' to 'Workspaces.xml'.
i tried the solution where you rename the AdobeUpdaterPrefs.dat and forced the update but that didnt work either
this problem doesnt happen on any other applications, just after effects

Set the permissions for the entire Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/12.2 folder to be writable. The problem is that the OS has set the permissions on that folder or elements in it to read-only.

  • After Effects 2014 updated version won't open

    Hi,
Ever since I updated after effects on Thursday 4th December 2014 (I think it was) it will not open.  We downloaded an older version of CC but I cannot open any of my projects as they were made in the new 2014 version.  We have uninstalled and installed but yet to figure out why the updated 2014 version will not open.  We only bought this less than 2 months ago.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello Mylenium,
What are the current versions of After Effects and Premiere Pro being distributed by the CC App? I have After Effects 13.1 and Premiere Pro 8.1.
I heard that 13.2 and 8.2 were already released? Is that true?
    Thank you.
