No AirPlay button in iTunes 11.1.3.8 for Windows 7 64-bit

Hi guys,
I cannot figure this out - I tried everything I could think of...
I have my main iTunes library available for Home Sharing - now iTunes for Windows does not appear on AppleTV, iPad or iPhone in Remote or Music or Video at all. Moreover, its own Airplay button has disappeared.
  I tried the following:
  1) Disabling Windows Firewall - didn't help
   2) Uninstalling iTunes, Bonjour, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Application Support - didn't help
   3) Rebooting router altogether - didn't help
   4) Signing out of Home Sharing, disabling sharing library and enabling all back - didn't help
I know that the problem is not with iOS or ATV - I can use Remote from iPad or iPhone to control ATV. However, iTunes for Windows simply does not appear in Remote application or anywhere else. It also does not have a button to Airplay to another device.
The router configuration didn't change and rebooting didn't help. All devices are on the same network - iTunes and ATV on wired, iPad & iPhone on wireless.
It used to work until the whole iOS 7 and related iTunes updates. Has anyone seen such a problem? Any ideas? Please?..
Maksym

Hi guys! I have just found a solution in a different thread - huge thanks to Toploader21120:
1) open control panel.
2)Choose Network and internet
3)Select the VIEW NETWORK STATUS TASKS under NETWORK and SHARING CENTER section
4) Choose the active network connection. It is usually name " wireless Network Connection 1" or something similiar.
5) Click the properties button
6) If the Internet PROTOCOL VERSION 6(TCP/IPv6) is checked, uncheck it, then click OK.
7) Click CLOSE
8) Restart iTunes and try to use the Home Sharing feature again.
Apple dudes, please, do include it in FAQ!

  • Itunes 11.0.2 installer for Windows 7 (64 bit) freezes?

I'm having a problem installing iTunes 11.0.2.26 on Windows 7 64-bit. I have tried both the automatic updater and a full uninstall/reinstall with a standalone instalation. It seems to get stuck around the same point. If I try the automatic updater first Safari installs then iTunes starts to install. The iTunes installation gets to around 90% then the installation stalls. There is no error message and the installer just says "Installing..." but the CPU usage drops to 0% on both cores. I have left the installer sitting like this for hours without it finishing. I have not heard anyone else complain about long installation times or stalling. A very similar problem happens if I try to uninstall and then do a standalone installation. The installer gets near the 90% point on the bar and then the process just stops and hangs. If I try to cancel the installation at this point, the installer will stop responding and then I have to end the process. Any help on this frustrating issue would be appreciated!

You can try downloading 7-Zip (free), or a free trial of WinRAR, and unpack the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe file into its components then try installing them individually in alphabetical order (don't try to install SetupAdmin.exe or iCloud.msi). You may get a more useful error message as to which component has problems.

On iPhone 4 Home Sharing allows you to wirelessly play iTunes content on the iPhone over the local network so you can play media without syncing to the phone.
You turn it on under Settings>iPod

    Hey there Kameldriver,
The location of the Airplay icon is just to the right of the volume slider at the top of iTunes.

I am trying to download iTunes on my new desktop computer (Windows 7, 64 bit).  It starts installing, and then stops with the message- "The System Administrator has set policies to prevent this installation." This is a stand alone computer and I am the sole user.   Please help.

This is a Microsoft Windows Issue.
    From a MS Support Engineer:
    "Hi,
    ·        Is the computer on a domain?
    ·        Is the issue isolated to only this software or you get the same error message with other software’s as well?
Try the steps below and check if it helps.
    Step 1:
Run the software setup file as an administrator and check if it helps.
    a. Right click on the setup file of the software that you are trying to install.
    b. Select “Run as administrator”.
    Step 2:
Temporarily disable the antivirus software running on the computer and check if you are able to install the software.
    Disable antivirus software
    Warning:
Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
    Step 3:
    a. Click Start, type "Local Security Policy" (without quotes) and press enter.
    b. Click on Software Restriction Policies.
    c. In the right pane, double click on the "enforcement".
    d. Select “All users except local administrators”.
    e. Click Ok and restart the computer and check if the issue is fixed."

  • HT1349 Trying to install latest iTunes for Windows 7 64-bit. Keep getting this error message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."

Initially iTunes would not run although it had been running quite well up until now. Suddenly received this error on PC start-up "The program can't start because MSVC80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." Research on Net pointed me to iTunes as the issue. Tried to start iTunes and received that message again. Tried installing latest version of 64-bit iTunes and received the subject message part way through the install: Trying to install latest iTunes for Windows 7 64-bit. Keep getting this error message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
iTunes has been running great on this PC for years. What's up?

  • ITunes 10 Not Working Properly on Windows 7 64-bit

    Hello all.
I had installed iTunes 10 for Windows 7 64-bit on my Windows 7 64-bit system. After that, my computer would not recognize my iPhone at all, so I uninstalled everything Apple on my computer and reinstalled iTunes 10. Now after reinstallation, my computer recognizes my phone again, but when I open up iTunes, I get this message:
This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes.
The version of iTunes I have installed IS the 64-bit version (installer name iTunes64Setup.exe from the Apple site). How come iTunes 10 thinks it is not 64-bit and how can I resolve it?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Edit: Just did another install/reinstall, now my phone is back to being completely unrecognized by my computer. I've tried all the suggestions I could find on the Apple site, disabling AV, running as administrator, manually starting Apple Mobile Service, and when I try to update drivers though driver manager, I get an access denied message.

I spent some time on the phone this morning with Apple. Here's a link they sent me: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
It's more than just uninstalling Itunes; there are 5 other apps that have to be uninstalled and in specific order. This particular Knowledge Base article applies to Windows Vista or Windows 7. For other Windows versions you'd have to look up the article for Windows XP.
    Hope this helps.

Issues installing iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows 7 (64 bit). This install clobbered my previous version of iTunes. Error message is "service Apple Mobile Device failed to start". Cannot start the service manually even though I am the administrator of the machine. There is obviously some conflict that was recently introduced by a Windows update or in the Apple installation. I have tried removing iTunes and the AMDS (the Apple mobile device service) and reinstalling with the same error message.
Thanks for any suggestions you can provide!

    Hey there Marylin,
It sounds like you are unable to start iTunes due to this error message even after uninstalling the iTunes application and the Apple Mobile device. I would recommend uninstalling not just those 2 applications but iTunes and ALL its associated applications with the following article:

I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

  • ITunes 11.1.4.62 for Windows Breaks iTunes Match

After upgrading to iTunes 11.1.4.62 for Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, my iTunes Match no longer works.  It insists that I pay for another subscription even though I have a valid subscription already.  This issue has been going on for over a week with no response from Apple Support.  Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue?  What can I do to remedy this problem?

I use a utility called ByeTunes that removed Itunes completely of my pc "It's free"       and got a good down load of Itunes.a few weeks after they correct the upgrade.LOL
