No alarm on reminders set on my E5-00 handset

I have been using the Nokia E5-00 handset for over two years, but in recent months noticed that the alarms i set to my To-Do list tasks doesn't sound. In fact, when i go to Calendar to check the same, it displays a message "1 or more reminders missed due to time change", while I have neither changed time nor removed phone battery or SIM Card. Also, I have the latest firmware 101.003 available for my handset model in India, and had in fact also reinstalled the firmware afresh last month hoping it will resolve this and other niggling issues (memory full message at random, etc.).
Would appreciate a solution / response from members who may have faced similar issue and got it resolved. Thanks.
Ramesh

Thanks @farby. I forgot to mention that last year I was using my E5 handset to surf the net and also used some Mobile Banking Apps which required GPRS access. Hence, had downloaded NetQuin 4.0 (free from Nokia Store) which seemed to detect something on my handset (yes, I did surf the net occasionally without any a/v earlier). NetQuin may have deleted some files, even if false positives, though it showed a message after complete scan that no virus was found. I suspect after this my phone s/w had become unstable, even hanging mid-way during some operations like media player.
I would prefer to reinstall the firmware thru Nokia Suite, but would like to know what precautions I should take (Nokia Suite takes a backup before updating anyway). Also, Nokia Suite restores phone settings after firmware reinstallation, so would the 'problem' I mentioned in earlier post recur ?

HI, if I did this, then I believe that I cloud would then hold my info which I don't want. Is that the case? The reason is that I'm an old git, therefore used to not giving out info. Would I be right?
Thank-You so much for taking the time to answer.

  • Alarm is automatically set when I enter a new appointment i n the calendar Treo 680

When I enter a new appointment in the handheld an alarm is automatically set and I have to disable it manually.  This doesn't happen when I enter a new appointment on the computer.  I called Palm and they told me that the Treo 680 default mode was to automatically set the alarm and there was nothing I could do.  THIS IS VERY ANNOYING.  Anyway I can disable this so I am able to set alarms only when I want to?

I've looked for a means of setting default lead times for calendar event alarms, and I've not found any. So, I don't think you can set a default of being off, either.
When I had my old Sony Clié NR70V with the Palm O/S, under the Calendar application's (they called it Date Book) Preferences, it had an "Alarm Preset" option. You could check or uncheck it, and set a number, 0-99, and select Minutes, Hours or Days.
Look under the "i" information Icon under the Calendar application's Preferences area. Note that it says: "When available, checking Alarm Presets sets an alarm for every new event, including....."
You use to be able to set the number of times and how often you would be reminded for alarmed events, too, as is indicated there.
Why have they crippled our O/S in several ways? Third party software sales? It doesn't make sense to me.
    We are going backwards.
    Good luck.

  • Can't set an alarm on Reminders.

I recently got the iPhone 5s, and have been having trouble with setting an alarm on the reminders app. When I set the date and time for the alarm, I hit done and I can see when the alarm is set for under the task. After about 5 seconds, the date disappears, and the alarm will no longer go off. Is there any way to fix this?

I think the problem is that reminders just doesn't work! Life's too short -  The best thing is to stop wasting time trying to figure out a completely dysfunctional app until you hear that apple have reverted to the old one, or bought out a new one that does work.
There - I've saved you loads of time and angst!

  • Alarm Clock Reminders

Every day when I turn on my iPod touch for the first time I get three or four pop-up reminders from the Alarm function of the built-in Clock app. If I select View nothing shows but a blank screen. I had an alarm set a few days ago just to play around with the app, but there are no alarms now, either active or inactive.
I recently upgraded to 4.0.2, but I'm not sure this problem is coincident with the upgrade. Just wondering if anybody else has seen this.

I solved the problem by doing a reset.

  • No alarm on reminders when my E5 is in Phone Lock

I have been using an E5 handset for over 2 years and have been keeping its firmware updated as and when it is released. It currently has the latest one - 101.003. However, seems there is either some bug in this or something wrong with phone s/w, as the alarm I set to my reminders (tasks) doesn't ring when I keep my phone in phone lock mode (i.e. need to enter the 6-digit lock code to unlock). Does anyone else face a similar issue, or know how to resolve this ? Do share your experience or views. Thanks

  • How many alarms can I set on my ipod touch 4g 8gb w/ ios 6.1.6 ?

I have an ipod touch 4g 8gb running ios 6.1.6 and was wondering how many alarms can i save and set at one time on my ipod touch? Thank you for reading and answering my question.

Why not try and find out? I do not know and I have not seen that discussed before.
For more alarms you can use the Calendar app

  • Can't make an alarm that is set more than 24 hours in future with JSpinner

I have what I thought was a simple problem, but I can't seem to get past it, so I come to ask the experts.
I want to use a JSpinner to basically set an alarm. I am using the SpinnerDateModel and a DateEditor with the string "HHH:mm:ss". The reason there is three hour feilds is because what I really want is to be able to set it to any number of hours from 0 to 999. But there in lies my problem, it won't let me get past 24.
    What I have tried:
I changed the first H to D (or d, whichever is days in the year) but it wont work for me because it can't be zero.
I tried extending the DateEditor code, but this was next to impossible because the company I work for makes us have two machines on our desk, both are thin clients, one connects to the internet but we are not allowed/able to download anything, and it does not have java on it in any form. The other does not connect to the internet, and can not, it has Java on it, but not the source code for methods like DateEditor. So without seeing the source I have no clue what to override.
I really want to use the one JSpinner with the SpinnerDateModel, but if I can't figure this out then I could use seperate spinners for hours, minutes, and seconds though that looks really ugly and is far from ideal.
So please if anyone has any clue how I could solve this, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    JSG

I just tried out a JSpinner with the SpinnerDateModel and DateEditor using pattern "HH:mm:ss". Behind the scenes, you are still dealing with a date. If you look at what date gets returned, the first time you spin the spinner using that pattern, the year suddenly jumps to 1970. It's using a default year, because there is no year to spin within your pattern.
So long as you don't feel too guilty or uncool for using the date spinner in a manner that it was not intended, you could probably achieve your objective by abusing the date editor with a pattern like "SSS:mm:ss". That pattern is milliseconds (which conveniently go from 0 to 999), minutes, then seconds. When reading your spinner, just interpret the milliseconds as the hours, minutes as minutes, and seconds as seconds. The rest of the date just gets thrown away. Uncool. But should work.
Or you can be cool and write a custom editor and model, but depending on your experience level, this could be difficult and time consuming. But also comes with a greater feeling of achievement.

  • Ipod timer alarm not saving setting

I just recently got a 7th gen Ipod Nano (after the sleep button on my 6g broke).  One of my most used features is the timer, which I use to make sure i don't go over length on breaks at work.  It worked like a charm on my old one but on the 7G it does not seem to save my choice for alarm noise at the end of the timer.  I'm trying to use "Alarm", will select it first, set the time and hit start, at the end of my break it goes off as it should (with the "Alarm" noise).  I hit ok and turn the iPod off.  At my next break I turn it on, go into the time, and when I check my settings it's always back at "marimba".
I've also tried starting the timer and then changing it to "alarm" but the next time it's on it's set back to Marimba again. I've tried picking something completely away (like digital) but the next time I turn it on it's Marimba again.  I've also tried saving the setting by itself, exiting the clock (both with the home button and by swipe) and always the same thing. Only had it about a week, and a minor inconvenience but still.  Any thoughts on how to get it to retain my setting?

    Hi everyone,
I have the same problem, it really annoying me.
i've sended a feedback to Apple months ago, but still now nothing is changed.

  • Synch with Groupwise Causes alarms to be set at 12:05 AM

    Hi,
I have a Black Berry 8700 and I have the 4.7 desktop client and am synching with Groupwise 7.0.3.  When I synch my calendar items they get transferred to my BB with an alarm time of 12:05.  I have my default alarm time set to 5 minutes prior to the appointment start time set in both Groupwise and on the BB.
If I manually change the appointment notify time from say 875 minutes to 5 minutes it will synch back to GW fine. Has anyone seen this and more importantly what is the fix.
    Thanks
    Dan

Install GroupWise Client 7.0.3 HP1 - (In Novell GroupWise versions earlier than 7.0.3 HP2, the alarm time was relative to a minimum value (midnight, 30 December 1899), whereas Novell GroupWise 7.0.3 HP2 and later, the alarm time is based on the current date and time.)
     This solved my problem!!!!

  • Time-based reminders set by Siri don't go off.

Any time I have Siri set a time-based reminder (i.e. "Remind me tomorrow at 8am to call Bob") the reminder never pops up. I have gone into the Reminders app and the app shows there with the proper time, but the alert never shows up at 8am. I'm on iOS 6.0.1 on an AT&T iPhone 5 bought directly from Apple.

I have same issue. Any news?

  • Changing the alarm window printout (Set!)

When an alarm comes in I need it to only print the alarm and not the (reset) and (acknowledge) or better yet a way to add 3 unique characters after the Set! In the printout. This is for an external dialer to be about to distinguish between alarms and a reset. Thanks Kevin

    Hello Kevin,
I don't think there's a way to edit which Alarms are printed in Lookout. You can filter out events, or even certain columns that are printed, but to only print some alarms isn't an option. There's also no way to add characters to the printout of the Alarm.
Are you printing directly to the printer as Alarms and Events occur? What do you mean by an external dialer?
    Regards,
    Vineet A.

Yes we are printing alarms only to a Zetron 1570 dialer, this device looks at the ASCII text stream and when it detects a pre-selected string it will start dialing on the call list for that alarm. The problem that I have is that (Set!) is the only part of the alarm that indicates a new alarm. So I need to use (Set!) as the search string then the description can be used for the type of alarm. By only being able to use one indication of a new alarm, limits this dialer's ability to use more then one call list. If we only used the description of the alarm, this would allow us more than one call list. But when the alarm is (Reset) and (acknowledged), Lookout sends the string out again so the dialer thinks it is a new alarm and starts the dialing all over again. This is the reason for the need to be able to add more characters to (Set!) or eliminate the reset and acknowledge printout.
    Thanks Kevin

  • My alarm clock on my 4S/iOS8 will not keep the premium alarm I have set for it.  How do I fix this?

I have my alarm set for "Ultimate Alarm" and when my alarm actually goes off, I have the default alarm tone instead of the Ultimate Alarm I paid for.  This happens with all alarms, even if I checked the settings literally minutes prior.  Help me fix this?

I'm fairly certain this is expected behavior if you have a CDMA carrier like Verizon or Sprint. The phone cannot handle being on a call and using data to receive messages or email.
Someone else may be able to further clarify.

What I said above - when I set up a new event three default alarms are set, all for 10 minutes prior to the event. How can I make the default alarm free?

    Hi Mark,
Do you have a default alarm set in iCal's Preferences > General Tab?
Are you syncing via iCloud (if so look here)?
Are you syncing to Google Calendar (if so look here)?
    Are you syncing elsewhere?
