Touch list album song in album art view

I have gotten all of my albums to be catagorized by album artist and album name, except for one. The album artist shows fine(The Eagles) the second line in the album art view is a song (Busy being fabulous) this is the third song on the first disk. The the next line is the ablum name (Long Road Out of Eden (Disk 1). The listing under the album art looks like this:
The Eagles
Busy being fabulous
Long Road Out Of Eden (Disk 1)
How do I get the song name out of there? Disk two of the same album shows perfectly fine with no song name in between. All of my other albums show fine also. When I select all of the songs from the album and go to Get Info the song name shows no where.

See my previous post on Grouping Tracks Into Albums, in particular the topics Use an album friendly view and One album, too many covers. In this case it sounds like you may need to enable the *Group Compilations* option and/or ensure the tracks are marked as Part of a Compilation.

Music App Album Art Viewer (in horizontal mode)

Hi,
I wonder if anyone else in the community think the same about the album art cover mosaic when in horizontal mode but it really suck since they remodeled the app.
When rotating the IPhone in the Music App, we use to be able to flip the albums and at that time, the SORT was by ARTIST. Since Apple remodeled the music app (really don't like to have a mosaic of album covers), the SORT has been converted to ALBUM...
Problem is NOBODY remembers all their album names and nobody I know likes the way it is showing at the moment. All albums by a same artist are mixed up in the mosaic when they logically should be regrouped by artist as it uses to be. It is not convenient at all when I want to hear a song from an artist but don't know the album name or song name... Make the search in horizontal mode totally frustrating and useless.
This change in the music app is not an improvement and all my surrounding thinks the same. Is there an option to sort them differently somewhere? Never found it if so.
If you agree to this, please send feedback to apple so we can have the option to sort
album cover art by artists.

New Album Art View slow and stutters.

I have a 128MB video card and 1GB of Ram running about 3.0Ghz
But I still get a problem when using the new album art browser view on iTunes. It's really slow and stutters. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem or could give me a tip in fixing it.

I enabled 'Album Views' and the first 5 seconds or so of most songs are garbled (maybe while the image is loading?). I turn off the view album and the garbling goes away. Having the album artwork available is not as important as having songs that don't stutter or are garbled.

Album art viewing, is it possible?

Ok, I was wondering if there is any possible way to when your listening to a song, on the older iPod versions (pre classic) you could click the center of the wheel and eventually get to a large image of the album art. I can't do it on my classic. Any possible way to do this?

HT3798 On iPod 160gb - how can I view album art full screen like in the menu half screen or photo slideshows?

I remember responding to an apple customer satisfaction survey in 2009, when I purchased my iPod Classic. I suggested it should be possible to have album art viewed in full screen like in photo slideshows or how album art is presented on half the screen when the menu is navigated to the 'music' list. Does anyone know if apple has created an iPod Classic software update which includes this glaring omission?

The progress bar is not the iPod disconnecting from the PC but rather the iPod reading in the library database from it's hard drive. It's safe to disconnect when told to.

How do I add album art like I did with previous version of itunes?

I could easily drag and drop my album art into the window in the lower left album art viewer in the previous version of Itunes. Please bring this back!!!!

I am having this same problem, but iTunes is messing up my artwork even more.
I bought some albums from iTunes in the last days. They show with their proper artwork in iTunes 12.0.1.26 on MacOS 10.9.5.
As as well organized German :-) I am used to change artist and album artist into "Lastname, Firstname" to get the right sorting. Doing this with this iTunes version lets the artwork disappear. Trying to add it manually fails as described in the original message.
Hoping for a quick bugfix. I won't buy any more music from iTunes as long as changing anything in the properties of the information tab creates this hassle for me.

How can I quickly get the same album art for all tracks on an album without manually doing them one at a time?

I am having trouble with album art linked to each track. My library is ripped from my own cd's and ITunes only provides some of the artwork from a find artwork search. The rest must be found and added one at a time manually from web. This process is tedious and time consuming for me. Is there a file in iTunes related to each album that I can just drop the art once and it shows up linked to all the tracks from that album when they play? I've tried selecting all songs from an album and dragging the artwork to the artwork window once in hopes of all tracks getting the artwork at the same time with no luck. Any advice for this paltry artwork dilemma would be appreciated. If Cassidy & Greene still owned this ******* child of SoundJam I know I would not be having this problem! HaHa...Thanks for any advice/help with this problem.

Thx 4 quick reply alexbird. Your method will work and after a little experimenting so will this: Just go to the album art view option and highlight the album you want artwork for. Drag the artwork from your album art web search page to bottom left hand album art window in iTunes and just drop it there. A small progress window then appears showing each album track adopting the dropped artwork one by one. It only takes 10-15 seconds for all of the tracks on your album to adopt the new artwork. I then went back and removed unwanted artwork(from the albums that had it) track by track from the get info menu. This goes pretty quick as you just pick track>get info>artwork>highlight art>delete>ok for each track.
This drag/drop to the album art view page has been the simplest and most effective way I have discovered to manually import album artwork into iTunes so far. Hope this helps someone else out there. Any other methods or suggestions to do this task added to this thread will be duly noted. Thx... Oh, I am currently using iTunes 10.5.1

1 CD, compilation CD, 16 artists, 16 album art displays (of same picture)

I have a CD of 16 songs, a "best of" CD, and when I import it to iTunes, everything is fine save for the album artwork. When I put iTunes in album art view, I see 16 entries. Now I have seen this before on other CDs where I would just make sure the title is consistent, the artist name is consistent (in this case, I am using "Various Artists" and then putting the individual name in Album Artist"). I also checked "Compliation" in the "info" banner. I re-imported the CD using iTunes thinking that would make a difference but it hasn't.
This is the only CD in my collection I have not been able to fix. Other fixes, as I have tried above, have worked for several similar problematic listings.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rob - When you selected "Compilation" - did you have all of the tracks selected? If so, when you checked the Compilation box, did you make sure it said "YES"?
The Multiple Item Information pane is a little tricksy - checking the box doesn't necessarily select anything - what it does is tell iTunes to change the information. For example, you want to delete all album art - you would do this by checking the tickbox next to the Artwork box and closing the Info pane. That will tell iTunes to update each of the Song Files and delete all applied artwork. Same thing with Compliation - just ticking the box without changing the selection may result in the opposite of what you intended.

Also, in my iPod Touch 4th, it erase all album art from my iPod, then i tried to put again a new Album Art, ...download again from the image sites and still ...it didn't show up.? What a waste!
I waste all my time to set all album art on my iPod, then it just gone. kindly pls fix this issue. hate this new version of iTunes, so complicated.
The first thing i saw after i install new version of iTunes, it showed only music files. I don't know where to look for the old version of Sidebar. I keep on trying to look for it where I can see or any sign off button just to show up this stupid SideBar. Also, why i couldn't find? The "Menu Bar" is also hide!
Until i found out in "View" tab. Then i saw the Show Sidebar. Question? why do you need to hide that Side Bar? For what?. it is so so so complicated specially to those people who can't relate for this. (Also the button (from previous iTunes) to show the Album Art, now it's gone. I check every Tab, but there's no way to see the Album Art.)
Another comment. I download also some of my songs to my iPod, I wasted my time to collect all of my favorite music files. Also some are came from CD's and friends. I had all that favorite music in my iPod. Then the version iOS 5.+ came then I updated my iPod, another options to save files (iCloud) but I think there are something that I MISS about updating my iPod. Then suddenly I checked my iPod... all music (with Album Arts) are gone. All Apps are Gone. Videos as well.
If you don't know how to use that iCloud (with only 5GB storage), you'll gonna miss/lost everything.
Then I start all over again, i still have my BACK UP, good to have that. Now it's all set until I update the latest iOS 6. And another version of iTunes.
Then I realized my computer getting slow. I uninstalled it. My laptop started to work fast again. Then I download again the iTunes. So now I know, it has the ability to slow my computer. Everytime I turn on my iTunes, it hang. (Not Responding). Solution... CTRL+ALT+DELETE. Then every second time to open the iTunes, and it works. (it means, to open iTunes, need twice)
Then suddenly my laptop is not working. All my files has been corrupted. My Hard drive doesn't work properly. Now I don't have any stupid BACK UPs. My music files usage is 18 GB, only contacts, documents, notes, or some other files that can only fit to your "iCloud" not my 18GB music files and other photos. Your solution is to BUY more storage. Another COST! Another wasting time to set everything then need to pay more?
If you let your unit (iPod,iPhone,iPad) to export music to PC, or any mini SDcard to use as storage, it won't happen.

It has Bluetooth, right?
Use less! Doesn't work. There's no way to use it.
All I need is to install an application to use your bluetooth. (for same unit or Apple unit only). And pictures only can send via Bluetooth if you an application.
Even if you go to "Photos" check if there's a way to send pictures? there is no way to send via Bluetooth, even Photos, Songs.etc. It can't even share some other friends (even they have own iPad, iPod, iPhone or same products) who has a unit with Bluetooth.
And the last.. only one port. there's no way to watch videos through HDMI. No HDMI port, no SD or any card slot. Must to buy their products.
Very costly!

Yes, the old album art view is gone, bu you can see the album art for a song that's playing by clicking on the art image and it will open a bigger view.
Everything else in your post is a waste. I'm not going to spend time reading it. If - and I repeat if, you have a question on how to get the best out of the new look iTunes, post it. But don't spend your time in long rambling negative rants.

Some album art not displaying in

I have the latest firmware release (.60.0). After either syncing via an app or simply dragging and dropping via Media Explorer, some album art does not display properly in my ZVM in the Album art view nor when the song is played. The method I used is embedding the image directly in the MP3 tags. I only use the MP3 format.
I love my ZVM!

It sounds as if I had the same problem, which bugged the **** out of me, until about 10 minutes ago. I mucked around for ages with iPad and iPhone with some success before they would reset themselves to some odd settings i.e. artwork not matching correct album, couldn't delete songs from iPhone etc.! Very frustrating.
So tonight I did the following:
1. I have Homesharing turned ON as i use iPad/iPhone as a remote;
2. on iPad and/or iPhone make sure that the device(s) is signed into your Home Share - appleID is completed in "Settings"/"Music";
3. on iPad go to Music (orange icon, not in Settings) and press "More" then "Shared" and choose your host machine's library and NOT "My iPad". Same for iPhone too.

No fullscreen scrolling album art?

Checking out the iPad and much to my surprise i cannot locate the fullscreen scrolling album art view on the iPod app. Surely the iPad has this since even the iPhones do this. Was this view left out or am i just missing the view option?

After reading a few online sources it's not something we have overlooked but something apple just decided to levee out. What's going to really suck is if they release an OS update that adds this feature that has already existed on older devices and previous OS versions...AND charge for it. Even if they don't charge it will be embarrassing to see them list it as "new" feature.

Adding scanned art for Album Art

I followed the itunes help on this topic and checked out some of the previous threads about album art with no real solutions to my problem:
I am using iTunes 7 and my brother just recorded an indie album which I added to my iTunes library. I then scanned the CD cover and made two copies:
a .psd file of 250x249 pixels
a .jpg file of 250x249 pixels
The iTunes Help says to command-click each item in the album, choose "Get Info" and then drag and drop the art into the little artwork box in the window. That kind of works. The file appears in the little window, but when I close the "Get Info" window on those items, the album art is not there. I also tried Browsing to the file with the same results. I tried both the JPG and the PSD file.
I also tried dragging the file from my desktop onto a single file and that won't "stick" at all. If I have a single song selected and try to drag the file from the desktop to the album art viewer, it won't go at all. It just "bounces" back to its spot on the desktop.
Is there a certain file type or size? I am the administrator of the computer. I tried things like ejecting the CD before dropping the art work on and I tried changing the iTunes view from the new "album art carousel" look to the standard iTunes view.
What could be wrong? Thanks!

There really is no standard file size, however, "less is plenty" applies. Jpeg is sufficient, and since it's basically for screen resolution on either the monitor or iPod, then the file sizes you mention are more than sufficient.
Odd, the artwork is not sticking. I usually copy/paste into the Artwork panel for a single selection. Multiple selections are similar to what you tried - drag/drop to the artwork panel, which automatically checks the box to the left of the panel. Upon selecting OK, iTunes updates the album or multiple selections (usually taking 20 seconds or so).
Might try moving the com.apple.iTunes.plist file in your User Library>Preferences folder to the desktop and restarting iTunes. You may have a corrupted preference file. On the restart, iTunes creates a new preference file. See if the artwork functionality is restored. If not, return the file to its original location. If the artwork placement does work, then you'll need to restore any custom iTunes preferences.
Post back with results.

Video / Album art crashing iTunes, etc

if, while watching video in a separate window, i attempt to open full-sized album artwork by clicking on the maximized album art viewer in the lower left side of the window iTunes promptly crashes. This seems like a bug rather than a problem specific to my machine, but if anyone knows how to fix this, that would be great. Also playback skips badly any time i'm importing/converting/editing/deleting whilst watching video. any ideas? thanks.

Yes - I have the same problem. iTunes on the Mac recognizes the artwork for a whole album when I've added it for one song. But when it plays on the iPod, the iPod only recognizes the album artwork for that one song, and not the whole album. I'm not sure if the solution is just to go through and paste the artwork in for the entire album. Clearly, with a library the size of yours, that would be tedious.

Duplicated, triplicated album art

My itunes library consists of itunes purchases, CD rips, and P2P downloads. When looking at the coverflow or album art view, some of the songs from the same album have artwork for each song. So If I have 2 songs from an album I will have 2 instances of that album art in album art view. How do I fix this?

I'm with the last poster on this one - this is ANNOYING
For some reason you end up with multiple albums of the same album in coverflow. If you select the cover it will highlight one song in your library, the other image (in the case of duplicates) is associated (usually) with all other instances of that album in your library. If you check the album art for the one song, using get info, you will often find nothing - which suggests that the album art (and this happens with that art downloaded by iTunes when you already have the correct art in place) is associated with some tag found elsewhere, i.e. outside the iTunes interface/access.
I have "selected all" tracks, renamed and confirmed album, artist, track, year etc (you have to be quite careful as even an errant "space" trailing in a name will generate a second album of course) but to no avail - again, suggesting that their is a different IDE tag associated with this one "duplicate" album cover which is NOT the title, year, etc (the usual difference problems).
I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to remedy this...
