No album cover available?

I have some music albums, that iTunes can't download any album covers to. Is it possible for me to upload album covers through iTunes, so that the covers can be shown on my iPod Video 80 GB?

You can copy and paste CD artwork from Amazon or another source if iTunes doen't have the CD.
You can select all the tracks from the CD and then use Get Info to paste the same image into all the tracks.
You use more space this way as the images are stored in the music files.

Where is my album cover art?

I've been using iTunes for years. I've used it to manage the large CD collection that I had before the creaton of the iTunes store. My collection now contains CD's that were purchased after the store opened.
In earlier years, the cover artwork for my CD's for the most part was supplied by Apple. I also used All Music and Amazon in cases where Apple did not have what I needed.
I've just installed version 11.1.2 of iTunes. I've discovered - again - that many of the album artworks that I had before the uprade have disappeared. I suspect that is because the album is no longer available in the iTunes store. I can understand that - if the album is being purchased now. But why does Apple strip from iTunes the artwork that I had BEFORE the upgrade? That doesn't seem fair.
There is another issue that is a part of this topic. Earlier versions of iTunes had an option whereby I could search for album artwork through the iTunes software. That seems to have disappeared. Why? Must I now go through the laborious process of locating album cover art on my own, CD by CD, even though I had the art before the software upgrade?
This is really annoying. Over and above the unfairness of it all.

When album art is downloaded, it is stored locally, The iTunes store has nothing to do with it after that. It will appear even if you disconnect from the Internet altogether.
Aside from that I have no idea why some artwork disappeared.

How to prevent album cover artwork from being synced to the I Phone

The album cover artwork is nice enough on the Mac but it is unweildy on the I Phone (I Phone 5 S). It spaces out the real information needed which is simply folder, playlist information. In fact, I can't shuffle music among all playlists contained in a single folder, a related problem. If necessary as a solution I could live without the album cover art anywhere in I Tunes, including on the laptop.

Thanks for responding. Even when a tune is playing and the lower left photo is toggled to "now playing," the photo on the left is different than the album cover up on top. Both are the same ONLY on the first track of the album. The album cover on the top is apparently no longer available on Amazon, CD Universe, etc., so I can't move it to the desktop and enter it as a new piece of artwork. If I am too vague about what I'm attempting to do, please call me collect at 760.471.8011.

Album Cover Finder programme murdered my iPod

So - I've got a 160GB iPod classic which has been working well and synching well. I then (in retrospect - foolishly) decide to download Album Cover Finder from Amphonic Designs. It pulls down album cover art perfectly well but as soon as I connect the iPod to synch, iPod and iTunes crashes.
As a result I uninstall Album Cover Finder; delete stored artwork; and delete all music for which I'd downloaded art. But to no avail - my iPod is now no longer recognised and whenever I plug it in it tells me that the iPod is corrupted and needs to be restored.
I've now restored it 3 times; I've tried to download new USB drivers; I've tried to give it a new drive letter; I've done the 5 R's - absolutely nothing works. Most of my music is still in iTunes, but my iPod now has NO music on it and isn't recognised by the system, except as being a corrupt iPod which needs to be restored (as mentioned above - to no effect).
So now I'm looking at my beautiful new iPod and it seems to be completely dead. And this makes me very sad indeed.
Any suggestions?

Yes, a restore will erase the iPod. It is a bad idea to only have your stuff on the iPod (this issue you are having is a good example why) since if anything happens to the iPod, you lose everything.

Song playing just shows album cover

Suddenly, when I'm playing a song or podcast all I see on the screen is the album cover, or, more usually, just a big blank square shape. It used to have the name of song, album, artist, and a progress bar.
Why has this happened? How can I get it back to normal? I've restarted, reset, to no avail.

Or just select that one song under Albums -> Song or Artists -> Album -> Song.
If it's the only one on that album, it will play & stop.
You can still give them an album/artist name if you created it. Make up something. Artist is pshermanfl, Album is Snoozfest 2007, Title is Sleepytime Blues.
If you are selecting Music -> Songs - song, then selecting it, it will continue to play the rset of the songs.

Compilations: Can you show just one album cover with mixes/compiations?

Using the current iTunes (11.01) is a misery. I have numerous mix discs and compilations, and for each title eg Royksopp's BACK TO MINE mix, there are about 15 tiles of the album, one for each song. In extreme cases, there may be over 100. Since I have God knows how many songs, easily in the tens of thousands, this is an extremely inefficient way to display my collection.
Is there any way to display albums with just the one album cover and title showing each time? THis is ridiculous.

I'm not questioning your answer. Just want to make sure before I say OK and let it be. I had heard that iTunes/iPod forces you to do things their way, this is an example, I guess!

Album Cover art

I like the idea of being able to browse using cover art but it is only a useful feature if you can get most cover art . There are many albums for which iTunes has album cover art, albums which I own original copies of, for which I can't get album art.
Examples: Sigur Ros /Saeglour, T-Bone Burnett /True False Identity, Paul Simon/ Surprise, Graceland, all of Van Morrison's albums, most Dylan and Neil Young albums and many others.
Apple put this feature on I Tunes, but many album covers which you show on the Itunes store website don't download. I have both checked "automatically download missing album artwork" in preferences and requested Get album artwork in the Advanced Tab . If I control click on the album artwork on iTunes store, I can't even copy the image to paste it in manually. Also, when I request album art I often get an "unable to download certain artwork " message with no further explanation. If I'm supposed to buy the album art I'd like to know how and how much.

The spelling was ok since almost all were entered using gracenote. Anyway it suddenly started working. without changing anything I could tell I asked again to get album artwork from the Advanced tab and it started downloading 400 album covers. whatever. So my problem wasn't answered but it is solved. thanks for the google image search idea. So I guess I'll mark it answered.

Someone nicked my Album Cover flow, without asking. I have snow leopard. I was happy. Just before Christmas as if I havent got enough to do Thank You. I've given Apple loads of money this year--presents and all, the least they could do is tell me, they're going to take stuff off of My computer that I enjoy,/ find very useful/ and worked hard to update all my album covers and have a gallery of my own artwork for my mixes--it was beautiful. When I went to add some more, the facility had been taken away from me. Was so dissapointed. They send me emails all the time to buy the latest must have products. I even did a questionair to help them. They really care for their customers--right. So why couldnt they warn me about this update, its only polite.
If I bought a warm coat some years ago, then the manufatures came round without my knowledge and cut off the left arm, and later told me, their reserch says that people dont use the left arm so much so they have to get rid of it. 1. I think that would be illegal. 2. its impolite not to ask if they could do it. 3. why not give me an options to keep it, seeing as i bought it. 4. its ludicrous.
I trusted Apple-but then -they took my YouTube off my ipad. I cant update to newer software as I will lose some expensive programms (Im not made of money). I also have 2 oldish defunct but fully working laser printers (if they were compatible with new software).

How do I erase a specific Photo on the "Photo Album Cover" on Apple TV???

I have removed a certain photo from All of my devices. I have reset Photostream on all of these devices and I have reset Photostream in iCloud. I have restarted all of my devices in order to completely erase this particular photo. Now the photo is, as it should be, totally gone from from iPhoto, Photostream and All my devices... HOWEVER... It still pops up as the "Last 12 months Cover" when i turn on my Apple TV??? It has to go!!! How do I delete or replace this Album Cover?

Walkman app display incorrect album cover

I made an account just to post this.
Okay, my device is Xperia Z1 C6903 and I use the Walkman app to play music, and honestly, I love the app, it's a great app and all, I love the interface and surround feature. I do not have thought of using any other music player such as Poweramp.
But I don't understand why the all the files in an album has to display the same album art, I don't know about if my app or system is defective, all I know is Walkman works likes this:
All files with the same Album name tag, with album art or not, will display the same album art as the first track of the album.
Therefore if the files in an album contains different variety of album art, it will all be replaced by the album art tagged in the first track.
I have thoughts if I am the only one who has this problem cause not only Walkman app does this sort of thing, even Play Music (Google's music app) does the same, is something wrong with my system? So far I know Poweramp (Trial) display album art correctly and does not have any sort of this kind of problem.
And no, my phone is not rooted.
That is bascially my problem is anyone know the solution, or comments, you're more than welcomed to share. Honestly, I love this app and I cannot be persuade to use another app to play music.
P.S.
If you ask me if there's any improvement/new feature that can be done to this app, and the only thing that I'd wish this app can have is crossfade effect and please, remove the big title block with "Enjoy Your Music Anytime and Everywhere" on it, it takes up lot of space and I hate to have to scroll down in order to access other shortcuts.

Okay, here's what I did, I tested out an album with two songs in it, both tagged with different cover when displayed on PC, now I transfered it to Z1 by just dragging it to SD card folder, didn't use Media Go or anything, when displayed on Walkman, the second song displays album cover that is of the first song, I proceed to "Edit music info", I clicked on the album art, I discovered that is over written by something, so I clicked on "Clear album art", choose "Save", and turned out the song got quickly over written again, I think it has something to do with the "Download music info" app thing, by Gracenote, unless this is under observation of a developer, I don't think this can be solved, right now I'd try using Media Go, see if that works.

ITunes Missing Album Cover / Artwork Search feature (future update)

I would like to request a future iTunes search function. I know that iTunes allows you to save a Notifications report after you "Get Album Artwork" feature for missing covers or issues where it could not find Album covers. However, can you add a function where you can list all the tracks/albums where iTunes could not find the album cover within iTunes, almost similar to the view, Show Duplicate Items function. It would be great to list all the songs without covers within iTunes itself, so that one can work on fixing all the tracks with issues.

p.s. still waiting on 2-way sync feature request, its been years now since i first requested. For example, if you create an on the fly playlist on your iOS device that iTunes imports the playlist and merges any metadata updates, instead of creating duplicate playlists, etc.

No album cover

I have the latest "iOS 5." and software iTunes version 10.6.1.7 and most of my "Album covers" do show up but the occasional one doesn't. I delete the song from my iPad 2 and even deleted from iTunes database and went as far as trying a different "Album cover" and when re-entering it into "iTunes" and transfering it to my iPad 2 but once again no album cover. I rebooting my iPad 2 and sometimes that would work and sometimes it doesn't work. When I right click and selected "Get info" on my ("name" iPad) the album cover is there. I deleted it and then click on "Add" and re-enter the cover and you can see that "iTunes" on the top showing the graph bar that it is indeed being updated but yet on my iPad 2 it doesn't show just the rest of the info but no cover. I have over 1000 songs and most of them have their covers but some songs just won't accept the covers. What am I doing wrong? It doesn't make sense at all. I am not doing anything differently. Has anyone face this same problem as I am?

How to apply album cover picture to all songs on cd not just one at a time?

i found agreat website with free cd covers for my songs that will show up in the corner of my ipod. but i can figure out how to apply the picture to all the songs in an alubm an dnot just one, i can only drag the picture into the box in itunes one by one.

I just point it to my iTunes library and it batch uploads the artwork to every file automatically.

Album Cover problem on 160 GB iPod Classic

Ever since I got this iPod I have had an issue with the album covers showing on the iPod. At first they would show fine everywhere, then they just started showing fine in the lists. Once I would click on a track the album cover would look similar to "snow" that is seen on TV when you are not getting a signal. Now, the only things that have covers on the iPod are songs I bought from iTunes, but any of my CD's I imported do not show up at all even though most of them do have covers when I look at the Cover Flow in the iTunes Library. What can be done to fix this issue?

when you turn down the volume on any apple product to "zero" with headphones plugged in, they assume it means you want the minimum audible volume. if you don't want to hear it, unplug your headphones or just don't push play. it's not a malfunction of equipment, it's operator idiocracy.
