No alphabet scroll bar

while in my phone book, there is supposed to be an alphabetical scroll bar to the right...i don't seem to have one. there is a scroll bar, but it is just that...a scroll bar.
my contacts are stored aphabetically, but they are not grouped under letter catagories.
any ideas out there?

Check your contacts to see if you are in a group. It's the little button at the top left. I think the scrollbar will only appear when there are a certain number of contacts. In the All category you should be seeing the scrollbar if you have more then a dozen or so.

I'd like an alphabet scroll-bar for my folders in Mail. Will this be added anytime soon?

I've been using Mail for years and find it convenient for use across all devices, off-and online. I really like that I can place a rule so that each email will automatically be delivered into individual folders. This makes it easy to organize my emails for search purposes, and to keep a clean and relevant Inbox. Sometimes, depending on my internet connection....it can sometimes cease at home and my desktop will be in sleep mode, and my emails won't be automatically ruled into their appropriate folders. This is ok, because I just manually file them. However, I have many folders. It would be an added bonus if there is an alphabet scroll-bar in the folders source list to the left of the Mail app. screen.
It appears that so much time and energy has gone into renovating the Mail application throughout the years, and the clean design and ease of use is noticeable and appreciated. I feel they would be complemented by the scroll-bar.
I'm just wondering if Apple has this in mind for any new updates to Mail?

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

With the iOS 7 update the alphabet scroll bar in the Music app disappeared. Is there anybody came across this problem or know how to get it back?

When syncing iPhone with my Mac via USB, it stuck on preparing to update when I started copying music, so I ejected it and plugged it in again. All the music was gone by then (sync manually is on). This time copying music worked.
Since then in the Music app's artists tab there is no alphabet scroll bar on the right; the separator letters are also gone.
Anybody experienced this? Is there a way to bring back the scroll bar?

So just use the Albums or Artists option to find the album or artist, and select your desired song from that. It's a lot faster than scrolling through a list of hundreds of songs or even using the scroll bar.
I've got about 500+ songs on my device, and I never use 'Songs' option. It's not even on my bottom quick icons in the Music app anymore.
Playlists Artists Albums Genres More is what I have on my bottom quick icons now.
With only 49 songs, you don't really need a scroll bar.

I have an iPad2 and I usually have the alphabet scroll bar at the right hand screen of the iPad and I was playing a music then I deleted that music while it was playing and the alphabet scroll bar is now gone! please help me on how to bring it back

Scroll bar, as designed, creates an undesired response lag.

Observation I'm unsure if accurate, but I've experienced firsthand:
**It appears that the slider component of the scroll bar does not create/send "OnDrag" info until the cursor passes the midpoint of the slider. Thus, if I'm interested in scrolling down, for example, and I attempt to drag the control down, it won't respond until I'm half way down the component.**
This obviously means that my page won't start scrolling initially, and then it will jump, rather than smoothly scrolling.
In other tests I've done, I haven't seen the delay. For example, on a page that does not require a lot of scrolling, the slider is larger, and it seems responsive from the initial click point --- not just after the 50% point is hit. Because my tests are not displaying the same behavior, I may be off base... However...
I have produced an MP4 of me slowly dragging the slider up and down a longer page, and periodically I'll be able to have the mouse pointer leave the slider (even though I'm still in a MouseDown state), and later the slider will catch-up to the pointer. I can e-mail the file to you, if you want it.
There is additionally a lag in typing this post. As a test, I typed in the alphabet, and each character displayed instantaneously. But after a little while, about 10 characters buffered, and then all spilled out simultaneously. I wondered if it was my system, so I tried the test in Notepad, and it was fully responsive to each keystroke. (In typing the last sentence, the phrase "wondered if it was my system" all got buffered and sent to my textbox simultaneously.)
Clearly, if there's an issue with typing text, it'll likely spill over to the responsiveness of other controls. Maybe the scrollbar and textboxes are fine, but there's a bigger issue hitting FireFox internally?

No Scroll bar in playlists

Hi,
Let me first try to explain what I mean when I say "scroll bar." I am talking about the thing on the right side of a screen like in contacts, or Artist view in the iPod app that lets you jump to a particular part of a long list (first A entry, first B entry...).
This is available for every long list on the iphone EXCEPT user-created playlists. I have a very long playlist (1500+ entries) and it is very hard to get to a particular song I want to play. I have the playlist sorted alphabetically with respect to the song name. The irrating thing is you CAN do this in the Remote app.
Is there a way to enable this feature? If not, is it known if this is planned in a future update? Is there a way to suggest this to Apple?

Again, no. Apple does not generally announce the contents or timing of updates (although there have been a couple of exceptions).

ITunes scroll bar missing

When in my collection of SONGS in iTunes, previously, I would see an alphabetical display down the right side of the screen so you could "jump quickly" to other songs in the list by touching a letter that alphabetical listing. That alphabetical listing has disappeared form the screen. How do I get the scroll bar back? I have re-installed iTunes, I have done a full restore of my entire iPhone and the issue still remains. I have a 5s and all software is fully updated to the latest versions.

Yes I should have said the music app. That is a good correction.
The red alphabet list on the right hand side that you referenced is exactly what is missing now.
I used to see it displayed, now it is simply non-existent and I want to get it back.

Alphabetic scroll disappear

The scroll bar with the alphabet had disappear in the song list. I've been in numerous forums with the same issue... But they don't really have a solution. They said i need more than 50 songs to appear, So i put 65 and nothing! Then they said i need more then a 100 songs... Then I put 104 songs and only appear 99 in my Iphone and is not lack of space... Come on!! This is obviosly a bug.
I use to have this duplicate song issue, so I delete all songs. But the scroll bar never come back.
I need an answer, please. A real one!

Just want to follow up and say, that it's just the pop-up sign with the letter that changes when you move your finger on the right side(alphabetic scroll) that gets stuck very often.
So I can scroll, and it works, but the pop-up sign just displays "L" or whatever letter I would hit first. No matter what I do it will just show "L" until I "swipe" back to the menu, and hit the song list again. Then it works as it should - until the next time. However it not every time, but maybe 2 out of 3 times.
It only happens when exiting a song, I haven't seen it when creating playlists and stuff like that.
I even tried to sync just 2 small albums, and even then it would do it now and then when searching in the song list. So its not a matter of how many songs you have on the ipod nano.

Different Scroll bars in one file

I've manually customized the look and feel of the scroll bars for scroll pane component and it works fine. I've two different files that have different visual styles for scroll bars. Now I want to merge these two files meaning I want to have one file with two different styles of scrollbars co-existing. I can resolve the naming conflicts but both of the them are using same asset names and action scripts (I think in the class definition).
So basically my question if how can I have two different scroll bars implemented in one file?

Was able to remove the scroll bars by using only the styleClass as AFStretchWidth. But there is a default partition in middle of the page still? Can i remove that too by any way.

At times when dragging the vertical scroll bar my computer screen oscillates up and down for some time before going blank or not responding to any clicks requiring a forced system restart. What is wrong?

Suddenly while working with Firefox if I happen to drag the vertical scroll bar, a very abnormal behavior occurs. My screen dances up and down for a short time before either going black or getting restored but with no clicks working. The only way to resume is to force a restart of the system.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.

That didn't work. On trying to install a new driver I got the error the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware. Is there anything else that can be done to at least prevent the hanging of the computer even if it means less features from Firefox being available?

The scroll bar (the one used to scroll up and down any kind of website), that is normally in the right part of the firefox browser, would be of much help to me if it could sometimes be moved to the left part of the browser. Is this possible? How can it be done? Can anybody tell me the exact steps to take in order to do this (if it is possible of course)? This would be helpfull to me, since I think that the firefox scroll bar is overlaping the scroll part of the facebook chat sidebar, since I just can see a few people on this facebook chat sidebar and I can´t scroll along it, as I could a while ago. So my guess is that the firefox scroll bar is covering the other. I am using Business Catalyst and Dreamweaver to create a trial site.
I am not sure if this is the correct forum to post this request but anyway I have inserted a photo gallery module at the bottom of the sidebar in the homepage of my test site.
Can anyone advise on whether jquery or any other code can be inserted into the page or module code that will replace the "next" hyperlink below the first 4 photos with a horizontal scroll bar at bottom of the gallery so users can just scroll through all 12 images ?

My firefox browser window will not stay in full screen mode, it keeps reducing itself so I can't use the scroll down button on the side, so I have to constantly minimize and maximize to get to the scroll bar, How can I stop this?

Like I said it happens every few minutes... It is annoying when you are on the internet for more than a few minutes because you constantly have to either minimize it or reduce the screen manually by hitting the button and then maximize it again to get the scroll bar to be in view to use it.

Delete the localstore.rdf file at the following location:

I did this and it fixed it for several days, but it broke again eventually.
