No apps or music after restore

I just issued a new iphone 4S per my 1 year factory warranty.  I went to restore it and I have no apps or music, only contacts.  Please help someone.

Your apps, music and other iTunes media should be in your iTunes library on your computer.  Sync your phone with iTunes to transfer it to your phone.

  • Lost apps and music after restoring

I have just restored my iPod because most of the apps were playing up. So I restored it and I synced it and found out that all my apps have gone. I really need help as I had a lot of money worth of appa on my iPod and very very sad please help

Of course they are gone.  You restored your ipod which erase everything.
Certainly you made sure that you had transferred them to itunes on your computer before you restored?
    Just sync them back.
If for some reason you have failed to transfer them before restoring (not wise), then unlike music, you can redownload them.

  • Ipod touch wont sync music after restore/update

i recently came back from the apple store after trying to update my ipod to 4.2 and running across many errors. finally, my ipod is working again however as it had to be restored i have to sync everything back onto it. The apps, photos and videos synced fine but when it tries to sync music, itunes freezes right away. it will say syncing whatever song and it just stops. First, the number of songs and what song it syncs first seems to change every time i sync it. Sometimes it says 1 of 1 sometimes 168 out of 168, when it should be at least over 500 songs. Second, after i let the computer with the frozen itunes sit for a while, it came up with 2 error messages; one saying the song could not be synced because of error -20 i think, the second saying the data couldn't be written onto the ipod and then it froze forever on the finishing syncing bar. i've tried restarting my computer, disconnecting the internet and disabling my firewall. itunes is up to date and so is the ipod obviously. we use ca security center. please help i just want to be able to use my ipod again

the ca security people fixed my problem and its syncing fine. if anyone else has problems syncing while running ca security post on this forum and they will pm you the solution

  • Lost purchased music after restore

I had to do a restore. iTunes said it was backing up my iPhone and then I did the restore based on the backup, but neither my apps or purchased music had been restored. I had a load of music, that I paid for. Is there some where I can go to download all my lost music with out re-paying?

Why is it not in your itunes library? If you purchase any content on your phone, you MUST File>Transfer purchases to get the content into your itunes library. The itunes content sync is ONE WAY: computer to phone. You can re-download purchased apps for free. For the rest of your purchased content, contact itunes support, plead your case, beg...they "may" let you re-download it, but the decision is theirs:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/
For future reference: the iphone should NOT be used as a storage device, things can & will happen. If you purchase content on your phone, ALWAYS File>Transfer Purchases as soon as possible. Likewise, your itunes library should be regularly backed up.

  • Apps not loading after restore

I recently had to restore my iPhone after disabling it by typing the wrong password too many times. I managed to get my apps, pictures etc back because of back-up, however, now my apps won't load. When I click on an app it starts up then just closes. I'm still getting notifications from WhatsApp however when I click to view them it crashes again. Does anyone know how to solve this problem without having to uninstall all the apps?
    Thanks

Check that you're signed into the correct App Store account:
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > tap ID > sign out > sign in with the same account ID you used to purchase those apps.
If that doesn't work, you'll have to restore again...  This phone has never been jailbroken. Right?

  • IPhone 5 will not sync music after restore

I just restored my iPhone 5 because I was having a problem with all the data on the phone saying it was in the "Other" category when I was on the summary tab. So I got the backup and everything synced except my music. I've literally tried just about eveything to synce the music. I tried syncing it wirelessly but it won't even connect to my computer. Also the problem with all the data being displayed under the "Other" category is still a problem. Any help?

I have a similar problem. Mine started with iTunes putting multiple versions of the same songs (whole and seemingly random albums) onto my iPod 5, but after trying to remedy that I now cannot sync any music of any sort. It took random songs off and then started getting stuck at the "waiting to apply changes" stage (as apparently many people have seen) and after trying all the things that are supposed to work I now have an iPod that doesn't have any music on it (because a lot of my music was not purchased on iTunes) and won't sync music or finish any other kind of sync.
It seems like the "fixes" discovered so far don't work for everyone.
My iPod is 5th gen running iOS 7.0.4 (but problem started on 7.0.3) with the latest version of iTunes, for reference.

  • Help: Corrupted music after restoring backup

Hello. I have a 4th generation iPod touch. Today I made a backup before an attempt to sync my iPod to my computer, but I accidentally synced my computer to my iPod. I restored the backup and proceeded to go test my music to find that as soon as I opened my library it would skip around to random songs and the songs wouldn't play. I went into my iTunes and went to "On This iPod" and then to music to find that the iPod was apparently empty, yet the songs appear to be there in the library on the device. I've tested several apps and they appear to be functioning perfectly. I've read that the music files may be corrupted and that deleting them and re-downloading them from the store worked but when I go to the "Songs" list in-app I don't have enough time to slide and delete a song before it moves up or down the list to compensate for the song changing. This happens in my albums and playlists too. I've tried restoring my backup again with no change. Thanks in advance.
Edit: Rebooted the device to no effect.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • How to sync apps with iTunes after restore from iCloud?

I just recently restored my iPod touch to 5.0.1. and I used my iCloud backup. While it worked for the most part, when it came to downloading the apps, I found it cumbersome. I would prefer that I just plug in my iPod to iTunes and let the apps install from the computer. It seemed to sync up, but all the apps on my device remained inactive and uninstalled. More specifically, they were still 'Waiting...'. Weirdly enough some of the apps even looked like they were downloaded partially but despite numerous attempts, they simply refused to install. I have restored my iPod again in frustration and before I restore yet again, I'd like to ask if there is a solution where I can restore my iPod from iCloud, keep the apps arranged but have them installed over iTunes the traditional way?

    They both are.
Another question, right now I have 3 out of 5 computers authorized to use with my iTunes account. But what happens If they all break and I end up getting a 6th computer?

  • App Store Missing After Restore of 10.6.8

Hello everyone.  I recently did a Time Machine backup from a point just before I replaced my hard drive and re-installed the OS, etc.  The MacBook Pro was at 10.6.8 when I did the restore...and most everything looks fine (so far) with one obvious exception:  The App Store dock icon was showing a question mark.  When I looked in Applications, sure enough...it wasn't there any longer.
I did some reading and tried installing the 10.6.8 Update Combo...but still no luck.  I'd like to get this working so I can download Lion and install it on the machine.  I just got a Mac-mini that's running Lion and it appears I need to get this MacBook Pro on Lion before I can create a Time Machine backup that I can then restore onto the new computer.  That will save me a lot of manual moving/installing, not to mention that I'd just like to have the App Store back on the MacBook Pro.
Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers.

Manually download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo, it is a safe install over your existing version and may fill in any blanks that are there.

  • Photo Booth app still missing after restore!

I have an IPad and the Photo Booth app is missing completely. It's not in spotlight, nothing is restricted and even tried a full restore and still nothing...... Any assistance would be great!

I do have a camera on the front, so what accesses that function? I thought that's where photo bohoth would come into play? Also is FaceTime only on the 2nd gen as well, because that app is not appearing?

  • App Store failure after restore

My HDD crashed, I restored it from Time Capsule. Now App Store does not work. Any hints? Thanks, Aaron

Install the Mac OS X Update Combo and perhaps it will fill in the gaps and fix any corruption that has been caused by your backup and restore scheme.
