No artwork in itunes store

I've downloaded all upgrades onto my laptop. When I open the store, the images don't display (a broken chain does instead). The text links work and clicking the broken chains work but the images don't appear. I also sometimes have the same problem with safari that images don't appear although the page loads (usually I deal with this by refreshing the page but it doesn't seem to work in itunes)
Please help!

  • Broken link icons appearing instead of artwork in iTunes store

    Hi,
For some odd reason, I see "broken link" icons, which look like a chain made up of three links, with the center link broken, instead of music album artwork in iTunes store.
Initially I see the album artwork, but then they begin to get replaced by the odd looking "broken link" icons ! quite strange.... this began happening after I upgraded to OSX 10.5.6, but I am not sure this is the main reason I'm having this issue, I tested some macs at the Apple store, which were running 10.5.6. to access the iTunes store, and this problem did not appear, so it might be something else on my Mac Pro that is causing this odd behavior.
Any other Mac users encountering the "broken link" icon when visiting the iTunes store ? Any clues ? or ways to solve this ? what could be causing this ? Any help/feedback would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Do you have to have a credit card to get artworks from iTunes Store?

Do you have to have a credit card (or another pay option in order to register an account) to get artworks from iTunes Store?

No, but signing up without one is slightly tricky. See HT2534 - Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, and Mac App Store account without a credit card.
If you've already created the Apple ID that you want to use and are now being pestered for a credit card try the method given here. If you use this I'd be interested to know how you get on because I haven't yet had the time to try it myself.

  • Downloading artwork from itunes store / web into itunes & ipod

I just got my 1st ipod. I'm trying to update so artwork will appear in my itunes & ipod. I discovered the get album artwork tab in the advanced section of itunes and that's great but it does not always download properly. I then discovered in some cases if I word my album titles exactly as the itunes store it will then download the artwork. i also found the apply tab in the ipod music folder though it works a little funny. I have to click on and off the artwork button before the apply button will show up without being greyed out.
    My question is 2 fold.
How do you get album artwork on to your ipod & itunes together?
I manually manage my music so now the changes I made to my itunes are not corresponding to my ipod. Do I need to 'sync' all music in order to do that ? If so , should I click restore and start from scratch? I have almost 4000 songs right now.
Also I would like to download images? from google of artists albums or photos but cant' figure out how to get it into itunes and ipod....
    Any help is appreciated.

  • Getting Artwork from iTunes Store

Surely it would make sense that you should be able to copy any artwork straight from the store rather than every mp3 having to be exactly or almost exactly like the iTunes version. This would solve a lot of problems as i have to go to Amazon for some of my albums because iTunes doesnt recognise them.

I have the exact same problem. I've painstakingly renamed my HALO and HALO 2 soundtracks to match what iTunes has, and it only recognizes the songs in HALO. Even though it will take me directly to the HALO 2 page, it refuses to recognize the album. Come on Apple, you need to relax the criteria. It's too strict.

  • Creating Artwork for ITunes Albums

I have a lot of original music on my iPod and have made "Album Artwork" for a lot of them, but what is the optimal size for the graphics?
If I try to make it smaller for the window at the bottom of iTunes, then it gets grainy and distorted when it's expanded for the "shelf" artwork.
If I make it large to match the size of the "shelf" graphic, then it's distorted when it displays at the smaller size elsewhere.
What's the best size to create the graphics, and is 72 dpi the proper resoltuon for best results at both sizes?
    Thanks!

  • Covers for my albums are in the Itune store but it will not load them.

How do I get the album covers for albums I own from the Itune store if it won't automatically load them? any help would be great.

On the albums that will not work with everything else suggested above, I get the artwork manually by searching on google for the album. When I see the album cover I will right click on the cover and and choose "save image as". After I save the image to my pictures directory I then go in to get into in itunes and manually attach the artwork. Right clicking on artwork in itunes store does not work.

  • Why is my artwork only available in the iTunes store???

    Greetings,
I've scoured the forums looking for a solution to this problem but no luck. My podcast artwork shows up fine in the iTunes store. However, when a podcast is downloaded to a client, the artwork doesnt come along with it. Any itunes client will simply show the generic podcast image instead of the image that appears in the store. Therefore, no artwork ever gets to an ipod.
Does anyone know why this happens?
My feed link in the itunes store is:
    http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=284944737
    My direct xml link is:
    http://www.atthelighthouse.com/mp3/rss.xml
    Thanks in advance,
    Robert

This is a common source of confusion. From Apple's tech specs:
The itunes:image tag is not supported at the item level. It is possible to include art within individual episodes, but the art is included within the media file’s metadata, not in the RSS feed. To add artwork to an episode using iTunes, highlight the episode and select "Get Info" from the "File" menu. Click the Artwork tab. Then click "Add," navigate to and select an image file, and click "Choose."
What this means is that the image that shows on an iPod is like album cover art for song files, so you add the artwork to your podcast file before uploading it to your server.
    Hope this makes sense,
    Greg

  • Just got an iPod Touch and some of the artwork doesn't show up on my iPod.  It seems that a lot of them are from the iTunes store. What should I do?

    .

A lot of what are from the iTunes Store?
Your post doesn't make much sense really. Where did you get the songs from?
If you purchased them from the iTunes Store, then the artwork should have come with the song when you downloaded it.
But since you have not specifically stated that you have purchased from the Store, my question is have you downloaded songs from a different store or from yet another source? If so, did that source undertake to provide artwork?
Have you imported these songs from your own CDs?
MP3 files from other sources, such as (legally obtained) downloads from artist websites etc. do not always have artwork imbedded in them.
Amazon MP3 songs do have the artwork embedded. I assume other MP3 stores also provide the artwork. But then, assumptions are not always correct.
Songs that you import from your CDs do not have the artwork embedded in the CD version. The artwork is obtained for you by iTunes - if you have the setting turned on (see in iTunes, Edit/Preferences/General>>When you import a CD>>automatically download missing artwork) In this situation, if artwork is not supplied, it may be because iTunes doesn't have (legal) access to that artwork. In other words, they don't sell the album, so are unable to supply the artwork. In that case, a simple Google of the album should find the artwork which you can then copy into the album in iTunes.
As a last resort, I use my printer's in-built scanner to scan my CD cover and then paste that into the album's artwork box.
If I haven't answered your question, it's because you haven't supplied enough information.

  • How do I put artwork on my own podcast in itunes store?

I just created a new podcast using audacity.  Got the first episode recorded, exported as an MP3, uploaded to Podbean, submitted it to itunes and got approved.  It is now searchable in the itunes store.
When I pull it up on itunes on my computer it now shows my created artwork for the podcast.  I did this by right-clicking "get info" and saving image from my computer.  I searched for and subscribed to the podcast myself...no problems.  When I download it to my ipod it does fine and shows my artwork on the ipod.
BUT, when anyone else searches it on their own itunes, the image is just the generic podbean image...not my artwork I created for the podcast.
Can anyone help?  I am new to the whole podcast thing so if you could use easy and detailed wording I would appreciate it.  Thanks in advance!
p.s.  I am looking to apply the artwork to my entire podcast...not just a siingle episode.

There are two separate image types here.
The 'Podcast Image' which appears in the Store page is referenced in the feed in the 'itunes:image' tag. Presumably as you are using PodBean you can't modify the feed directly yourself so you will have to find out how Podbean allows you to add this tag - presumabnly by providing a place for you to specify the image.
The 'Cover Art' - the image which appears in the bottom left-hand corner of iTunes when you subscribe - is not referenced in the feed but actually embedded in the media file: from what you say you appear to have done this.

  • My podcast artwork is not showing in the iTunes store or in the Podcasts app

My podcast, the Legal Seagull, was recently posted to iTunes. The problem is that the artwork is not showing in the iTunes store or on the iPhone's Podcasts app. Once you actually download the episodes, the image does appear.
I verified that my image is 1400 X 1400; however, it does appear to be around 700kb. I have seen some posts about how you should try to keep it under 500kb, but I haven't seen anything official from Apple to that effect.
I note that there is a man out there called Roger Wilmut, who is extremely knowledgable about this issue and has responded to many similar questions. Mr. Wilmut, if you are out there, could you please advise whether my feed is set up correctly? If it is just a waiting process, I'm fine with that- I just want to make sure that I've set everything correctly on my end.
    Feed: http://www.thelegalseagull.com/feed/podcast
    iTunes link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-legal-seagull-podcast/id886005819?mt=2
    Thanks!

OK, looks like the problem has resolved! All it took was a few days of waiting patiently

  • Since I downloaded the last update even the artwork in the itunes store doesn't display how do I get it back?

  • Artwork showing in Podcast App but not iTunes Store

I updated my podcast art recently as I've had a site redesign, and typically now, the podcast artwork is not showing up in the iTunes Store. What's peculiar however is that if I subscribe to one of the podcasts in the iOS Podcast App, the artwork shows up no problem. This leads me to believe that the feeds are working fine, therefore I can't see the issue?
The affected feeds are http://dyhamb.com/rss_itunes.php, /rss_too.php, /rss_tcr.php and /rss_asf.php. Anybody have any ideas?

I checked the first URL - you have an image correctly referenced in the feed and present on the server. The Store can sometimes be quite slow to show images so I'm afraid it's just a question of waiting.

  • Want to change podcast artwork: not showing up in iTunes Store

Hi. I want to change the icon/artwork for my podcast.
My website (created with iWeb) = www.manleywoman.com
My podcast in iTunes Store = Manleywoman SkateCast
I use Garageband to create my podcast, then save to iWeb, then save to iTunes. So I changed the artwork on the podcast itself in Garageband. That worked fine and shows up properly on my website and on the episode for which the artwork was changed. I thought that changing the artwork on the podcast RSS page of my website would automatically change it in the iTunes Store, but so far no luck.
Can someone walk me through how to make the proper artwork show up in the iTunes Store? Right now it's just a broken link. Thanks

You can update your artwork via feedburner.
    1. Go to feedburner.com and log in to your account.
    2. Click on your feed for the show.
    3. Click on the OPTIMIZE tab at the top, then click SMARTCAST on the navigation bar to your left.
    4. Under PODCAST IMAGE LOCATION you can add the url to the image you want to use (store it in your site folder somewhere).
You can also add in keywords, and description as well.
    Hope that helps.
