I not able to open any links in the emails I receive and get an "Error: No associated application could be found" when I click on a link. HELP!! What's going on? This happened after I downloaded Chrome and then decided to delete it.
I have Lion and I just came across this link and it took care of the problem.

TS3276 "ERROR" message "No associated application could be found"
When opening incoming emails on my Mac with links to other websites or for more information, etc. clicking on these links I receive "ERROR" message reading: "No associated application could be found".
I do not have this problem with the same messages on my Ipad.
My email is handled through Yahoo (ATT) and they have not been helpful.
ThanksOpen Safari. From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the General tab.
Select Safari from the pop up menu next to: Default web browser
If that doesn't help, launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utilities
Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk Permissions
Restart your Mac when it's finished.
Try Mail.

I'm getting an error message when I try the click on a link in an email. No associated application could be found. How do I fix this problem?
Is this a one-off or a general problem? If a one-off, is it a link to a web page or something else? If not a web page, try control-clicking on it and choosing to download the linked file. This will at least access the file though it might be to something you don't have an application to open with. If you do this, what sort of file do you get? - select it and hit command-i to get information on it.

All the links on my emails come up with the error message: "No associated application could be found". Can anyone advise how to fix this? Thanks
Hi...
Quit your mail app.
Open Safari. From the menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the General tab.
Click the pop up menu next to: Default web browser
Select the browser you want to use to open links.
Open mail and try a link. -
Having trouble trying to open links on my recieved mail. The only response I get when I click on the link is, "No associated application could be found".
How can I correct this problem? What type of file is it? What is the extension (the 3 letters after the . (DOT)) of the file?
Could be it is a Windows Exe file and simply will not run on a Mac. Which is good because anyone that would send you a excute (.EXE) file is up to no good. just my opinion. -

Try to open mail message shows-no associated application could be found.
Looking around, you seem to be all over the place on this.
Try resetting Launch Services:
See here: http://macs.about.com/od/usingyourmac/qt/remove-duplicate-applications-from-open -with.htm
There is both command line instructions and links to GUI-based programs you could use. -
In all my incoming messages, links do not work. The error message reads=No associated application can be found. Any hints?

None of the links in any of the four email accounts I have in Mail will work. If I click a link within the email, I get an error message as above. I can't figure out how to fix it.
Not exactly sure which action is responsible, but full function has been restored. I restarted computer and I "refreshed" Firefox. One way or the other the problem has been resolved.

When I click a link in email from the dock I get "no associated application could be found", however if I used comcast email the link will open.Does anyone know how I can enable the links to open in my apple email account on the dock?
Barney,
I have four groups.
I just typed the name of one of those groups in the To field on the iPhone's email, and received:
Invalid Address
"<group name>" does not appear to be a valid email address. Do you want to send it anyway?
I clicked continue and it remains in my outbox.
Help is appreciated.
Thanks,
