No attachment from outlook

I use googlemail and Outlook 2007 with Win7. Sending emails from outlook to myself and reading them on the iphone, I sometimes get an empty mail. Also some emails with attachments sent me contain a stupid attachment named winmail.dat. Any hints for me?

The winmail.dat is a Microsoft problem with Outlook caused by using RTF for composing messages with Outlook. Try using HTML or better yet Plain Text for message composition.
Using Plain Text for message composition with Outlook will likely resolve any other problems as well.

  • When I open an email's attachment from Outlook, the email's attachment is no longer avail to open on my iPad and iPhone

    When opening an email's attachment in Outlook 2007, that email's attachment is no longer available to view on my iPhone and iPad.
    How do I correct this to keep the attachment available on iPad and iPhone, when the email's attachment is initially opened from Microsoft Outlook please??

    If you're talking about an old iCloud ID, you have to delete the old account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • Rundll32 error when opening a PDF attachment from Outlook 2010

    The computer is a 32 bit Win7.  Outlook is 2010 for business.  Everything was working fine until 4 days ago.  Now have to save the pdf to the desktop and open it from there.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    The rundll32 error seems to have disappeared.  Until this morning I had both this error and the rundll32.  All other types of docs open fine.  This one will open if saved to the desktop first, but not from Outlook.

  • Drag and Drop Attachment from Outlook to LABVIEW

    Hi,
    I try to write a very simple program, which manages files. With the path control of LABVIEW we fortunately can Drag and Drop files from e.g. explorer, whose path I can use after dropping. The problem is, that I would like to do this directly with files from an Outlook mail attachment. Drag the attachment and drop it onto my LABVIEW window and be able to handle this file (copy elsewhere and rename it, for example)... That is what I dream of.
    I searched the internet for a long time, but I didn't find a solution.
    Thanks a lot for your help,
    yours,
    Daniel

    Probably not as easily. Drag & Drop in Windows is a complicated thing with the Server and Client negotiating a format to transfer. The server can offer many formats and the client then selects the one it can handle. The LabVIEW path control only can handle physical paths. So if the server application offers a path as one of the formats and then when the application selects that format makes sure that the file is copied somewhere in the filesystem (temporary path) and sends that path to the client, the LabVIEW path control will work fine. If the server application insists into memory stream only formats, the LabVIEW path control can not deal with them in any way. Outlook being a Microsoft product most likely insists in OLE formats and then you get into trouble.
    You basically need to interface to the Win32 or OLE Drag and Drop API to get this working. And no it's not trivial at all, because Drag and Drop not only varies greatly between platforms but also between OS versions.

  • Remove Workitem Attachment from Outlook Inbox

    Hi, Workflowers,
    I would like to know, if possible can I remove 2 of the attachments. I think normally you have 3 attachments in the user's outlook inbox: for going to the SAP inbox, for displaying the work item, and for executing the work item. I would like to remove the attachment for displaying the work item and the one for the SAP inbox.
    Is it possible to also customise the Missed Deadline mail subject so that it doesn't have the 'Missed Deadline...' part?
    Thanks in advance.
    Darlington

    The text I am talking about is not the text in the Description tab of the PFTC transaction. I am fine with that. What I am concerned about is the standard text that appears in the outlook e-mail after the Description as follows:
    "Open the SAP shortcut attachment in order to process the work item.
    If you have any problems logging on, contact your system administrator."
    And the message subject saying for example "Missed Deadline:...."
    I know that when you run the report RSWUWFML2 under the block "Standard Text for Notification", there is a message class for the mail Subject "SWU_NOTIF" Message Number 2, which has &1: &2 in transaction SE91. How can I determine the text in these variables during runtime (In fact, I would like to Hard-code this text)
    After I select "Collective Message" in the "Send granularity" block I have removed SWU_NOTIF_PROLOG1 for "Before Work Item Description" so that the standard text:
    "Your Workflow inbox in the SAP system DEV, client 100, contains the following work item:"
    does not appear in the outlook mail since I don't need it.
    But I have not removed the SWU_NOTIF_EPILOG1. I would like to know how I can edit the text:
    "Open the SAP shortcut attachment in order to process the work item.
    If you have any problems logging on, contact your system administrator."
    which I believe is the one involved with SWU_NOTIF_EPILOG1.

  • Error message when opening pdf attachment in Outlook 2003

    I have several computers in my network running different version of Adobe Acrobat...Adobe 6.0 standard, Adobe 7.0 standard, Adobe 8.0 standard and pro, and Adobe 9.0 standard and pro. The problem I am having with a few of my end users is that when they receive an e-mail in Outlook 2003 with a pdf attachment from certain companies that we deal with in the insurance industry, they receive an error message saying they can not open the file...
    "Can't create file:XXXXXXXX.pdf. Right click on the folder you want to create the file in, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu to check permission for the folder."
    The strange part about this is they can forward the e-mail to another end user that may or may not be using the same version of Adobe as them, but the other end user has no problem opening and viewing the pdf attachment (also, if the company sending the e-mail sends the same e-mail to another end user who has no issues, they can open it with just fine) Now here is where it gets really strange... if the end user that can view the file saves the file to their hard drive, then sends it back as the same attachment in an e-mail back to the end user that could not open the file originally, now that end user can open and view the pdf attachment. I have three end users that this affecting and they each have a different version of Adobe Acrobat with all of the latest updates. I am stumped and searches so far have revealed no solutions...
    Any ideas?

    The can only open it on their machine if they save the pdf attachment after renaming it. All computers on the network have the latest Outlook 2003 updates, so it puzzles me that only three end users with the same version of Outlook 2003, with the same updates, are not able to view the attachment from Outlook, but the other users can. Also, why do those three end users have to rename the file if the save it to the their computer to be able to view it, but no one else has to. And, it is not every pdf attachment either, just some from certain people that send them an e-mail. Really puzzling issue that I need to get resolved...

  • Why is 'save as' greyed out when opening a document from outlook?

    I cannot save a pdf document when I open a pdf attachment from outlook.

    Why would I want to add extra steps to a process that is performed many times daily as routine.  The purpose of the program is to view the file, and then save it in a permanent file.

  • Why i couldn't open email that sent from Outlook?

                     Please help me for this matter, i had bought my BB Curve 8520 for just only 5 days and use latest firmware. I have setup 2 emails 1.) hotmail  2.) Outlook (Official mail) i found this issue after i had setup my office email for a few days.
                    Issue is when i open email that sent from Outlook (Official mail) that contained file .png or attached with file .png by using HTML  my bb couldn't open it, it will stuck but i can use any function but just the email that didn't open.
                    I ha contacted with my Local support, they inform me to do the hard reset, after i had hard reset it working fine with same email that couldn't open previously. After one day had past it has the same issue again.
    Please help me to fixed this issue, thank you in advance.
    P.S. I had never install any unauthorized program.

    Photoshop doesn't do anything special or different when a file is sent from an attachment. However, when you send an attachment from Outlook to Photoshop, that file is actually downloaded to your computer in a Temp folder before it is sent to Photoshop. Often times the permissions on this folder can be such that it prevents access. Other than that, all Outlook does is simply drop the file onto the Photoshop app file. The only thing that would involve Photoshop directly is if there are some damaged files involved with its connection to the rest of the system. If this is the case a reinstall would fix it. Otherwise, check the permissions on the Outlook temp folder (or at least the JPEG file it is trying to save).

    This isn't related to Javamail in any way.
    I'm not aware of a Java library to read .dbx formatted databases, and doing so in 100% java would be a pretty large project (I would suggest a COM bridge, but you specifically stated you do not want to go that route).

    - Problem: I have 1400 e-mails with attachments that need to be converted into pdf and the attachments cannot be embeded.
    System: PC Windows 7 using Acrobat X Prof. - Thank you!

    Hi ,
    There is an option of embedding index for faster search while converting email to a PDF .
    However I am not sure that will serve your purpose or not .
    I would recommend you to get in touch with Microsoft support as well .
    Meanwhile I'll work on it and get back to you in case I get a desired solution .

  • Can't open PDF attachment in e-mail sent from Outlook, says I need to save first, how?

    Cannot open PDF attachment in webmail sent from Outlook, says I need to save first; how do I save the link?

    Looks like another user asked similar question with over 600 views and no replies ... hmmm.  When I click on the attachment, it says I must save it to my disk; with one button mouse just click once and save?  I've tried dragging and saving the attachment to word doc but opened up with a page of garbled words/symbols,etc.  Any ideas are welcome.

  • PDF attachment fails to print from Outlook

    Hello,
    Our company is using Outlook 2010 Professional Plus and Adobe Reader 10.1.12. We have been having an issue where certain users (seemingly random) are unable to print PDF documents directly from Outlook. There are no errors and the printing options box populates, but nothing is sent to the printer. This is happening on many different printers with different models and makes. The work around we have found is to save the attachment out to the desktop and print from there, however we would like to get to the bottom of this issue.
    Thank you for any advice in advance.
    -Ross

    Hi rosszip,
    Are you still facing this issue?
    If you save the attachment to computer and then try to print with Adobe Reader, are you able to print.
    It might be the issue with the user level access.

  • Ios 7 cannot open mime-attachment.ics from outlook

    I downloaded ios 7 the other day on my 4, and I cannot open my mime-attachment.ics from outlook. I have already deleted and reinstalled my mail account from which these files originate, without any success. Amy Ideas?

    Hi all,
    Same problem. None of the suggestions worked for me. Even the innovative work aroung by alstarck (in outlook uncheck ICalendar) is no good since i get ?????? in the mail header and when trying to create an event it creats it on current date and not in the intended date.
    If this ICS business is not fixed soon I'm seriously considering dropping Iphone alltogether because this is the last strow, in addition to the very poor ICalendar-Outlook communication. It hurts my work.
    Any Idea/knowledge/comfort?
    Thanks

    Getting Attachments
    Getting attachments out of your messages is a little more involved then sending them, as MIME has no simple notion of attachments. The content of your message is a Multipart object when it has attachments. You then need to process each Part, to get the main content and the attachment(s). Parts marked with a disposition of Part.ATTACHMENT from part.getDisposition() are clearly attachments. However, attachments can also come across with no disposition (and a non-text MIME type) or a disposition of Part.INLINE. When the disposition is either Part.ATTACHMENT or Part.INLINE, you can save off the content for that message part. Just get the original filename with getFileName() and the input stream with getInputStream().
    Multipart mp = (Multipart)message.getContent();
    for (int i=0, n=multipart.getCount(); i<n; i++) {
    Part part = multipart.getBodyPart(i));
    String disposition = part.getDisposition();
    if ((disposition != null) &&
    ((disposition.equals(Part.ATTACHMENT) ||
    (disposition.equals(Part.INLINE))) {
    saveFile(part.getFileName(), part.getInputStream());
    The saveFile() method just creates a File from the filename, reads the bytes from the input stream, and writes them off to the file. In case the file already exists, a number is added to the end of the filename until one is found that doesn't exist.
    // from saveFile()
    File file = new File(filename);
    for (int i=0; file.exists(); i++) {
    file = new File(filename+i);
    The code above covers the simplest case where message parts are flagged appropriately. To cover all cases, handle when the disposition is null and get the MIME type of the part to handle accordingly.
    if (disposition == null) {
    // Check if plain
    MimeBodyPart mbp = (MimeBodyPart)part;
    if (mbp.isMimeType("text/plain")) {
    // Handle plain
    } else {
    // Special non-attachment cases here of
    // image/gif, text/html, ...
    regards
