No audible notifications when bluetooth connected to car

Hello I have a 2013 Hyundai Elantra and a iPhone 5 running iOS 7.  When my phone is connected via Bluetooth and I'm listening to fm or xm radio my phone automatically places my text and email notifications to vibrate.  Please help.

OK, I probably was being daft, as I think I've solved my own problem ... very simply. Thought I'd post the solution here in case anyone else is as slow as me.
I just did a bit of experimentation and it appears that if I quickly adjust the car volume control WHILE THE PHONE IS RINGING I can reduce the volume. I then tested after I'd made the change, and I don't think it's made any difference to the speech volume when in the call.
I'm happy with that. Sorry for posting a "non-question".
Regards,
Ian

I have an upgrade question. I received a notification when I connected my computer to the internet that Lightroom 5.7.1 was available it included HDR & Panoramic photo merge. I cant find these. Where do I find them.

well that was a big waste of my time & data allowance then ...

  • No tap/app sounds when bluetooth connects/disconnects

I've been chasing this for some time now.  What happens is very similar to the posts others shared where the phone is not muted but the apps, notifications, ringer, etc behave silently.  For me, I usually notice the phone vibrating instead of ringing or chiming for a message.  When I unlock, there are no tap sounds as I enter the code and the keyboard is silent.
Today I noticed the phone went silent as I started my car.  The bluetooth connected to the handsfree in the car and I lost sounds.  I killed the bluetooth on the phone and sounds were restored.  Something is wrong because it also happens when I connect my Jawbone headset, too.  Interestingly, when I use the in-car or headset bluetooth to make a call it operates properly.
    Running 4S 6.1.1

    @SoCalJake
I've had this problem as well. I bought a Bluetooth keyboard at Christmas and have not had any sounds from my phone other than it vibrating since. I don't know if Apple is aware of the issue or not but disabling the Bluetooth feature when I do not need it seems to have resolved it.

  • Nokia E5 bluetooth connection with car

When I connect my E5 with Toyota over bluetooth I can't prevent autoanswer - my phone automaticaly answers after 2 seconds. I tried other phones (Sony Ericsson and Nokia E52) and with them there were no problems.
I tried to disable autoanswer on my Nokia E5 but I couldn't.
    Any ideas?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Just wondered whether under Menu > Ctrl. panel > Settings > General > Enhancement > Wireless car kit = Default and presumably it is here you have set Automatic answer = Off ?

  • N95 Bluetooth connection with car

I drive an AUDI A6. Before I got my N95 I had a Sony/Ericsson i800. When I connected this phone with my car (Bluetooth), everything can be done from the car environment such as lookin for phonebook entries, selection of entries, dialing etc.
With my N95 I can connect with my car and I can use the hands-free speeking system ... but only this! I can't read any phonebook entry, calling list etc.
Is there any trick to open the phone directory for use in bluetooth mode?
Best regards and thanks in advance.

Having just bought a new Audi A6 Le mans 3.0tdi quattro Avant - I was keen to find a solution to this bluetoth/phonebook problem. I too have the Nokia N95 and can confirm that the above link works 100%. Firstly you need to have Nokia PC Suite installed on you PC & phone .. then download the application and save to your pc. With your phone now connected to your pc.. download the saved application to the phone... [ make sure bluetooth is off and not paired to your car ]
Once installed on your phone - go to your car & connect/pair via bluetooth.... go to applications and run the application. It took a couple of minutes "processing " .... then switches to " transferring " ... again a minute or so.... Job Done.. My phone book is now integrated with the car and the MMI.
Thanks for the above link. http://europe.nokia.com/A4143881

  • Bluetooth connection between car & iphone stopped; won't reconnect

The bluetooth connection between my car (BMW) and my iphone just stopped one day. Had it back to the dealer to reset connections, and it wouldn't reconnect - altho' the service guy's iphone connected just fine. Any idea how to rectify this? service guy said the problem is with the phone software, not the car's.

One possible solution is that you have multiple devices connecting at the same time.
I have both my Blackberry phone and my iPad paired. If my phone connection is active, I can't pair my iPad.
This isn't usually an issue for me because I usually only listen to my iPad on my way to work when my phone isn't liable to ring anyway.

  • Iphone 3gs with ios5 update. bluetooth connection with car problem.

I updated my iphone 3GS to IOS5. After the update, the bluetooth (handsfree) connection to my car (Lexus RX350) does not work anymore. I can connect  any other cell phone bluetooth to my car. Only iphone after the IOS5 update is failing. Any suggestions (I reset many times)?

Some people havent had one problem when updating to iOS4, others have been over run with problems. I myself have lost virtually all sound from my loud speaker so calls, txt messages and ipod are virtually unheard now..
Went to my local Genius bar in Liverpool today, complete waste of time, the guy restored it like I hadnt already done that a 100 times, then said oh yeah it is qeit not heard of that one before, to get a new one will cost you £139!!
Yeah right mate, not payin that as its not my fault! did ask him if he ever looks on the Apple forum about faults people are having, and I got a blank look. Told him a thread with tens of thousands people all having the same problem with low sound from the speakers and calls being ended in mid conversation since updating to OS4 seems a bit strange then... another blank look!
Ive lost all faith with apple as a company now and will not be upgrading to a iPhone 4 anytime soon or any apple product, no one seems interested in helping but quick enough to take your money, thats my opinion anyway..

  • Bluetooth connectivity with car

I have recently changed to a Nokia 7230 and when I connect via Bluetooth to my car (Grand Cherokee) with a MyGig system some numbers do not sync across to the telephone address book in the car. I have a 2nd 7230 and the same applies, I have tried a different car at the dealers same problem, so it appears to be a phone compatibility issue. Reverting to my old phone works ok. Any suggestions or ideas greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Silence Treasure Tag when Bluetooth connection is ...

    Hello
I use my Treasure Tags only to find stuff that I've lost. I do not want to be notified when the connection is either lost or reestablised between the tags and my phone. If I leave my car keys with a tag (WS-2) attached to it downstairs on the counter and bring my phone upstairs they are just at the boundary of being able to make a connection. The result is that the tag sits on the counter either chriping that it was able to connect or has lost connection, all night long. Very irritating. I know I can manually disconnect the tags from the phone, but that is a hassle. I just want to silence the tag. If I want to find my keys I, of course, want to be able to play the tag from my phone.
    Any ideas?

  • E51 Drops Bluetooth connection with Car Radio afte...

    Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anybody has seen this before. It seems like a few people are seeing this but I have yet to find a solution. My phone pairs perfectly and works as it should for about the first 30 mins, then for no reason, it drops the bluetooth connection and I either have to power my phone or radio on/off. This is very annoying as it has now dropped the call too and I am force to redial.
Sometimes it does not even last 30 mins, and might happen after only 10 mins or so.
    Any ideas would be great.
    Thanks.

Yes, I have a similar problem which is a real pain if the call is dropped mid-conversation. Have you installed the MS Exchange email client from Nokia because that may cause a disconnect during a poll update.
Other than that I can't suggest anything, except it would be good to get a solution to the problem!

  • IOS6 bluetooth connection with car stereo

With my iPhone 4S running iOS5, my after-market car stereo bluetooth was able to read my song name, artist name, ect. Now that I upgraded to iOS6 my Kenwood receiver cannot read this data while connected via bluetooth. Since the data can't be read, the steering wheel control to search/skip a song forward or back also no longer works. I tested the car stereo last night with an iOS5 phone and it worked correctly, so I know the problem is related to the bluetooth iOS6.

  • How to get sound from phone when bluetooth connected

Easily paired my Plantronic bluetooth headset - piece of cake.  However, if I'm not on the phone, I don't keep it on my ear.  Sounds, except phone ringing, only come thru the headset whe it is on.  I would like to hear the other sounds (i.e. notifications, text message alerts, other alerts) from the phone when my bluetooth headset is connected.  It would be a pain to have to turn the headset on/off just to hear anything from the phone.  I actually missed a meeting as the phone made no noise for my calendar reminder.
I would like the option of routing the tones/alert sounds to either phone or headset or just have it automatically do both.
    Thanks

Im afraid that disconnecting your blue tooth devise would be the only answer to your problem im afraid that is the only way

  • C7 - Bluetooth connection with car kit - problem

    Hi all,
Can anyone help me about my problem. I bought new phone Nokia C7 with Anna software and I have a problem with pairing with my car (Bluetooth device Parrot CK3000 Evo). I think that the problem is with phone, because when I paired devices all things work well, but when I turn off the car (Parrot is switched off) and go away, other phones that I previously used disabled connection and can be used normally. But with this phone I see that for the phone connection still present (?!?) The car symbol on display still shown, and when I try to use the phone, I can make call, other people say that they receive calling , but I can't hear them, and they can't hear me. When I manually disconnect Bluetooth device, phone work normally, but when I am in the car again, two devices doesn't initiate pairing, and again I have to do this manually. It' a huge problem for me.
Is there anyone who have the same problem, or anyone who know how to solve this. I  couldn't find option to solve this from menus.
    Any ideas?
Unfortunately my warranty doesn't allow me to change software version from 022.014 to another... but if this will help...

    Thank you for your reply,
Do you think, that the solution is new update for Parrot device?
As I understand, you still have the problem and your hope is this update eventually.
Do you read somewhere something about this?
I have registration in Parrot forum, but I haven't read inside anything about  the problem . It looks, that they never heard about it...

  • Bluetooth connection to car forces audio connectio...

    Hi everyone
I recently fitted a new Bluetooth head unit (JVC KD-R821BT) to my g/f's car and we're having a bit of a problem when trying to use it with her 6303i. The probs we're having are:
    - the head unit has been set up to automatically connect paired Bluetooth devices and yet every time she gets into the car, the only way to re-connect the 6303i is to go into the menu on the head unit and manually connect paried device.
    - the 6303i seems to automatically start playing music via Bluetooth whenever it connects. The head unit can handle two phones and one audio device connected at any one time via Bluetooth and normally the Bluetooth device is an iPod Touch. However, because the 6303i seems to insist on playing music via Bluetooth, it always kills the iPod connection and takes it over itself.
Does anyone know if there is any way to fix/get round either or both of these issues? Btw the 6303i has the latest firmware installed.
    Thanks

I don't think people that work with, and/or, understand how all these various Bluetooth profiles work, are Apple people. Or if they are, they maybe don't share their knowledge on forums. I can get my MBP to say that it's connected to my car but the car doesn't see the MBP. Also, the car offers up a 4-digit "code" during the pairing process but the MBP never prompts for such a code. I've had similar problems trying to pair with other devices where the MBP says it's connected but nothing is usable. I think the Bluetooth standard has a major failure in that it doesn't require any and every device that uses it, to very explicitly display/indicate precisely which "profile(s)" it supports.
I'm assuming that on a MBP that the various Bluetooth capabilities or lack thereof are software and not hardware related. You would think that there would be a popular third-party Bluetooth control app for OS X. Maybe there is-- anyone?
