No audio after exporting to iDVD

I have made large imovie, with still photos and about 6 audio files. No matter which way I export it to idvd, the audio will not play in the preview mode. I got it to work once, but I tweeked the imovie a bit, as I was unhappy with a few small details, and now, no audio. I did however "share" and make a quick time file, which once imported into iDVD works fine, but I can not include a theme and or customize the iDVD. I have exported small parts of the imovie to idvd, and the audio is fine. I am wondering if the file is too huge- the project file is 5.1 GB. If the only way I can get this to work is by using the quick time file, is there anyway to be able to customize/use the themes in iDVD? I've got about 50 hours in this project, and I am pulling out my hair!
Help, before I become bald!

well, I dragged all the audio files onto one timeline in imovie, and "shared" to idvd, and wadda ya know, the audio plays! It seems I can only get this thing to work at 1:37 am --
does anyone know why this is happening????
Will this happen on EVERY project I attempt?

  • PIXELATED IMAGES AFTER EXPORT TO IDVD

Help! I'm confused and frustrated. I have imported 65 images from iPhoto to iMovie and added titles, music and a few transitions. The movie plays fine in iMovie full screen on my 20 inch iMac. After exporting to Idvd project a number of the images (most) are pixelated and even more confusing (at least to me), when I return to the original iMovie (which was great before the export) now those images are pixelated also. WHAT IS GOING ON? , how can I avoid this? Hope I am in the right forum.

Bengt: Right now I'm jubilant. Tried your methodology, and results were beautiful. Good burn and no JAGGIES. Then made a disc image and tried a burn from that. Great. If this continues I owe you a "GREAT BIG THANK YOU!!" I have been struggling with this problem far to long. Next I want to try adding some more complex transitions and perhaps some Ken Burns and hoping to see the same SMOOTHE lines. Too bad more people don't know about this for I see others posting about pixelation.
    For now, I remain grateful.

  • Wrong Audio After Export

    Hi
I put some audio fx (moderate compressor, HiPass, LowPass...) on the clips and did a bit of rubberbanding. If I play the sequence in PPro, all sounds nice.
But after export/encoding some parts of the rubberbanding (volume) are wrong or lost. Plus there are some holes at the end of some clips, which sounds like an compressor error. And there are some tiny volume changes in the exported audio.
I did all exports with the best audio quality settings.
The sequence has only two stereo tracks: the on-camera voice (A1) and music (A2).
The sample rate of the captured audio is 32 kHz w/ two channels. The sample rate of the sequence is 48 kHz.
Is it possible to mixdown all audio tracks to one (stereo) track?
If so, may this be a solution?
Is it possible to change the sample rate of the footage?
    I tried
    * render the audio before export
    * NOT render the audio before export (and delete previous renders)
    * delete preferences
    * direct export and export via AME
Best regards & thanks for your input.

Is it possible to mixdown all audio tracks to one (stereo) track?
You can try exporting the audio by itself as a stereo WAV, and then import that back into Pr, and replace your audio in a duped sequence with your WAV mix.

  • Premiere Pro dropped audio after export, AME no audio

Similar problem in both premiere & AME - clips are exporting with video but no audio.
When queueing up jobs in AME, they'll finish with no Audio & now even exporting directly from the timeline in Premiere Pro CC 2014.2 (just updated 2014-12-14) our clips still have no audio.
All clips have conformed on the timeline before beginning export.
This is happening despite trying these various solutions... re-installing Premiere, starting a new project, choosing a new Scratch Disk with 3 TB of available hard drive space... also our operating system is a 2014 3.5 GHz i7 32GB RAM iMac, running Mavericks with a 256 GB Flash Hard Drive, so RAM or HD speed should not be an issue?
Any advice or a solution would be greatly appreciated.  We export dozens of jobs a day and cannot find a reason why this Adobe Premiere Pro & AME Software is not working correctly & giving us dropped audio upon export - very frustrating, thanks for the help...

I have 2 macs, screenshot with identical export setting was from 2nd mac. if you can repro now here is a 2014.2 screenshot & same export settings on the 2014.2 mac; issue occurs on both computers thanks - also this timeline, before export I had audio on all tracks.  Here is a screenshot of the timeline post export; all of the audio is gone?  It was there at time of export

  • After exporting to idvd last half of project does not have sound

I'm about ready to pull my hair out.
I determined my movie was too long for 1 dvd, so I split it up into 2 projects. Part 2 works fine, sound and video. Part 1, get about 1/2 way through and suddenly no sound. I've done all the obvious trouble shooting already. I used export to idvd this last time, and now i'm trying export to quick time and see if my sound is wonky in quick time (when it's done exporting) Is there anything else that could be causing this? The sound is FINE in imovie. Of course I have a time issue, 23 copies by Sunday! yikes! Can anyone advise????

The quick time file looked HORRID! Exported again to iDVD selected Best Quality under project info.. and HORRAY! it worked, no glitches. I have a stack of bad DVD's... now if I could only figure out why it worked this time and not the others...

  • Can't view imovie after exporting to idvd

After I exported/shared my iMovie with iDVD, I am unable to view the movie. I can hear the audio and see the first still picture of the movie, but all the video clips are black. What should I do?

I can't run iMovie '08, fortunately, so I'm not of much help to you...
Have you updated your computer recently?

  • Foreign audio after burning in iDVD

I am running iMovie with Tiger on eMacs. I have 13 computers in a classroom. Sometimes when I burn in iDVD, the burn is successful, but there is only identical foreign audio over the whole disk. I have four uses set up on each eMac. the foreign audio if from totally different user than the one I am logged into. This plays on both the theme upon loading the disk, and on every movie. Movies play fine in iMovie and when testing in preview in iDVD. Usually I trash preferences and this clears it up. Now, two of my computers are not fixed with this method. I got one to work after trashing and repairing preferences, rebooting, then rebuilding the iDVD project with a totally new project. Any ideas?
    Thanks

  • Missing audio after export. Please help!

So I made a video for myself and friends on iMovie and included some music that I legally purchased. This video is entirely non-commercial so I didn't see an issue with using some music for it.
when I export from iMovie, I get the video with no sound and then after the video ends I get the audio with no video. Can anyone explain to me what in the world is going on? First I can see the entire video with no audio, then all I see is white and the audio from the video pops up.
Last problem is that all the music is missing from iTunes. I can hear all the other audio, but the music I imported from iTunes is missing. It's just the regular audio I imported from the video camera with the clips. Can someone please help me out?
    THANKS!

    hi Sue,
In my timeline I had the music across both audio bars. Once I reimported the audio, it was all on the third timeline bar. It was colored orange. The audio files do not overlap at all however. So the top bar is filled with the video tracks. The second bar is empty. The third bar has the audio files. They are one after another, seperated by a second or two of silence. There is audio playing on some of the clips of video, but on most of the clips I have muted so that the music should be all you hear. I actually muted the clips themselves, and not the entire bar.
All the boxes on the far right are checked. I do not have a camera attached. I do have an external hard drive attached via firewire. I have over 80 individual clips in the video. I have 512 Megs of RAM and a 1.25 Ghz processor on my lampstand iMac G4. The file is about 9 minutes long.
when I export it to quicktime all the video shows up, without any errors except for the fact that it is completely silent. At the end of the video, I get a white screen and the audio from the video clips starts playing, in order, as though I extracted the audio from the entire video and placed it at the end for no reason. None of the music plays. The files that were muted appear to be staying muted, but the ones that have sound are playing. I followed the instructions above about burning a CD, importing the audio files from the CD and then exporting the video to avoid copy protection issues.
Under my advanced options in the Preferences window I unchecked "extract audio in paste over" and "filter audio from camera" after the first two times this happened to me. the problem continued after I unchecked those.
I think I've given you as much info as you might need. If there are any other questions please ask and I'll try to get the info for you. Thank you VERY much for your time and help.

  • Music is out of sync with slides after exporting to iDVD.. what to do?

I created a slideshow in iPhoto and spent hours getting exactly the right music and transitions. I then sent it to iDVD to burn a dvd of the completed slideshow, however the music is no longer in sync with the slides and actually stops abruptly a couple of seconds before the last slide ends. This is quite disappointing as I spent worked hard at getting it how I wanted.
Is there a better way of doing this or did I do something wrong? I thought you could just send a completed slideshow straight to iDVD with one click.
I am thinking of buying Toast 8..would this work better for burning DVD's from iPhoto?

    12frets56:
Are you using the Ken Burns effect? If not then create the slideshow in iDVD from the stills imported from iPhoto. You'll get a sharper image quality final product, IMO, and the slideshow will be synced properly to the music.
An excellent 3rd party slideshow application isPhotoPresenter. It has some the best themes of any slideshow application I've seen and can add music and export to QT for use in iDVD. You can try the demo to see if it will suit your needs.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Sound Problem with Imovie09 after export to idvd

    Hi !
When I export my project to IDVD, I've got problem with the soundtrack of my project, the original sound of my videos disappear, I can hear "ghost" sounds (like wind) of my videos but at wrong place in the project. It doesn't appear in the timeline of imovie.
    Can someone help me ?

    Hi, Paul,
iMovie 'renders' slo-mo in a way that you don't really want--as you discovered. So, get your movie into iDVD without letting iMovie render it. Try doing it this way:
Instead of sending your iMovie to iDVD from within iMovie, close iMovie.
Open iDVD, and create a new project. Click on the 'custom' button, and navigate to the 'Media' tab. Select 'Movies' and find your iMovie in the little window. Drag it onto the iDVD screen. Be sure not to put it into a drop zone. Then, make the titles and buttons the way you wish.
Save the DVD as disk image. You can play that after it is finished to see if the sound is what you want. If so, go ahead and burn your DVD.
    Hope this helps!!

  • No 16:9 after exporting to iDVD

I had to use that horrible iMovie 08 to cut a movie. It is impossible to set chapter markers with that application, so I did it with Garageband. When I send the finished movie from Garageband to iDVD the 16:9 format is replaced by 4:3. Exporting the movie with manual settings the format is kept but the chapter markers are lost. How can I send the movie to iDVD in 16:9 without losing the markers?

    Hi Tim,
thank you for your answer but I usually use iMovie 06 or FCP. This time I was forced to use iMovie 08 because the camcorder only had USB. I could not manage to transfer the footage neither into iMovie 06 nor Final Cut, only into iMovie 08. Furtermore, FCP doesn't recognize the '08 movie files as 16:9 and iMovie 06 produces errors when I try to add transitions (all these problems are discussed in the groups here without any solutions). The icing on the cake is this mentioned bug of iDVD.
The only solution I can see so far is given at http://www.mydvdedit.com/viewtopic.php?t=27&pg=forum,

  • Incorrect audio after exporting a video to Quicktime

I recently exported a video from iMovie onto Quicktime, but for some reason, the audio plays in a completely random order, while the actual videos correctly play. Why is this happening?

The processor won't affect the quality of an export at all, only the speed of the export.
MPEG4 isn't the best option here.  Instead use an appropriate H.264 preset.

  • Dual-track audio after export plays on first clip, but not on second?

So, I've been working on a project with video that has two audio tracks, and they play fine in the preview window in premiere, but as soon as I export them, the first clip of it works, but the second clip I have does not have the second audio track, just the first. If anyone could shed some light on whats going on that would be great. Also, I tried using media encoder, in which I couldn't hear either of the audio tracks.

    Hi incinirate,

That's rather strange. Sorry to hear that.
Where did these files originate? From a video camera, screen capture, webcam, or mobile device? What is the format of these files? More details on your system, OS, version of Premiere Pro, etc., please.
    Thanks,

  • Buzzing and Popping audio after exporting from Premiere cs 5.5

When I export a video out of Premiere Pro cs5.5, the audio has non stop buzzing and popping. I have exported hundred of videos in the past (I am a videographer) and never had this problem. I usually export high quality mov files with h.264 codecs. I have not switched computers or set ups. I run a Mac 3.4 GHz intel Core i7, with an AMD radeon HD, and I save all my files through a 6 terra lacie external hard drive--I don't think power is the problem. I tried exporting at lower quality, but that didn't solve the problem. I have now tried 4 times... can anyone PLEASE HELP?! I need to get this video to a client...

I suppose you could do it that way, but if you export to soundtrack from FCP's sequence, it "round trips"... i.e. as you change things in Soundtrack, FCP get's updated with the changes.

  • Crackly audio after exporting

Just finished a short video and I thought it was all fine but when I export the video I get very noticable audio crackle.  The crackle isn't there when played in the timeline.
I have tried exporting as a master file as well as Apple devices but get the same crackle.  I tried exporting just the audio through the master file option as an aiff and the audio was perfect.
Audio used in project was converted to 48khz and are aiff files.
FCPX version 10.0.9 and OSX 9
    Any ideas please.

Turns out it was an issue to do with my imac being connected through ONYX 1620i.
With that out the wasy the sound is fine.
