No audio and waveform redrawing issues in CC

This is simple. Drop an MP3 directly from explorer to the timeline = no audio waveform and no audio at all! The only way to get it is to drag the file to the project panel. And sometimes when i zoom in / zoom out to the timeline waveforms tend to dissapear. The was no such behavior in CS6

Same here, no waveform, no audio.
But...doing it that way does not place the clip in the bin, so this is not surprising behavior.  I'd say the odd thing is that you can drop it right into the timeline.  Standard practice is to Import and organize your assets before using them.  Stick with that and you should be good.  Use a media player for review before import.  I really like AIMP.

  • TIMECODES are important for audio and video sync issues

Hello, just wanted to pass on what I learned so that others can avoid the trouble that I've had to go through. Perhaps this may help someone who is stuck on the launch pad. :)
BOTTOM LINE: Info for the beginner. Audio and video not in sync in Premiere Pro CS3 V3.2.0
PROBLEM: Capture works great it seems. When I go to the folder that contains the captured file and view in Windows Media Player audio and video are in sync. BUT when viewing the video asset in the source and program monitors, the audio and video are not in sync.
    SOLUTION:
Before capturing a tape make certain the following is checked:
    (1) Edit->Preferences->Capture->Use device control timecode
    (2) Edit->Preferences->Device Control->Options->Timecode Format
    (3) Project->Project Settings->General->Video->Display format
As for the devices timecode choose something other than Auto Detect. Then match the project timecode with what was chosen during capture. The projects display format could of course be set to frames.
I searched everywhere for audio and video sync issues in google, adobe forums, F1 help, and hv20.com and everyone was talking about:
    (1) Presets: 1080p30 vs. 1080i30 (60i).
    (2) brakes in the tape where timecode for the audio and video get misaligned during capture.
But choosing the correct hardware settings and timecodes to solve audio and video sync issues never popped up.
    MY HARDWARE: Canon HV30, HDV

    >Audio and video not in sync in Premiere Pro CS3 V3.2.0
Must be an HDV only issue because my synch is always perfect.

  • Audio and (sometimes) video issue after Win 10 Upgrade - Split X2 laptop 64-bit

Any solution to the Audio and Video issues on Split X2 laptop after Windows 10 FREE Upgrade?? I'm sure others are have the same Audio/video problems: -  very slow, Repeating audio and video on YouTube and Netflix playback....totally unwatchable-  speakers work fine- everything was working great on Windows 8.1 there must be some kind of driver upgrade for IDT High Definition CODEC BEATS audio... is there a work-around until the real problem is fixed? Regards  -  VK

  • Audio and Video syncing issues

I have a video file where the audio and video file are normal when I play the clip in Quicktime. When I import the file into an FCP project and drag it into the timeline, the audio and video are no longer synced. My sequence setting is ProRes422 as is my video clip. The only difference I can see is that my clip is 24 bit integer and the sequence is 32 bit floating point. Although, this is my 50th project capturing old BetacamSP tapes and all my projects say this and I haven't had a problem until this particular file and not afterwards. Any thoughts?

There you go then ... make sure you monitor audio and video by the same path ie both via the Kona card or both on the Mac ... or use the Playback Offset to compensate for the delay between the Canvas window and the Kona output.
    From the manual:
To set the frame offset between the computer display and the external video and audio outputs
Choose Final Cut Pro > System Settings.
    Click the Playback Control tab.
Enter a number of frames in the Frame Offset number field.
Frame offset can be any whole number between 0 and 30. The default value is 4. For example, if a video monitor connected to your DV camcorder shows your program four frames later than your computer display, a frame offset of 4 will synchronize the two.
Note: Depending on your external monitor configuration, you may need to experiment with frame offset values to synchronize the external monitor and the computer display.
    Click OK.
Play your video in the Canvas or Viewer and compare the video offset between your external monitor and your computer display.
If the computer display and external monitor are still not synchronized, repeat steps 1 through 5 using different frame offset values until the display and monitor are in sync.

  • Peripheral car audio and click wheel issues w/ Classic

Anyone else out there have a Peripheral Car Audio Interface for their car stereo? I got mine in Dec of '05 and had no problems with it. I get a new Ipod Classic and when I plug it up to the stereo the click wheel becomes nearly useless. It still plays but it's a bear getting to a song. When I unplug it from the stereo the Click wheel works fine. Help!

I'm actually using the BlitzSafe VW/M-LINK1 V.5 in my 03 Jetta. I'm a simple Ipod solution for my car keeping control on the Ipod itself and not my head unit (I'd rather it that way). I'm having the same issue with my 80gb classic. When I plug the Ipod into the interface, the touch wheel itself becomes useless, although I can still control the Ipod with the Menu, forward, back, etc. buttons. As soon as I unplug the Ipod from the interface, my click wheel goes back to normal.
One thing I also noticed is that when the Ipod is plugged in, I can see the wheel actually being used although I'm not touching it. By this I mean you can actually see the volume going up and down or the highlight bar actually moving up and down. You can also hear the Ipod clicking away.
I've talked to Blitzsafe and they told me my Ipod is faulty and to get it looked at. I've tried both a 5th Gen Video and Nano and they both worked perfectly. After reading this thread I'm sure my Ipod isn't the problem although I'd like to try another Classic just to make sure.

  • Audio and Video Synch Issues

Is there a way to fix the audio/video issue in playback? I know adobe pro warns you that it does that, but is it only during previewing or will it also do this when the file is published?

You are talking about directly embedding the video into the main timeline, correct?
For the most part, believe what Adobe says about not embedding video in the timeline or you may have audio sync problems..... which are actually video syncing problems. The auto will play exactly as it's supposed to, it's the video that gets out of sync.... NOT the audio.
The problem usually come up because you are attempting to match the audio up with the video... which is really the wrong way to go about it. Video can to speed up a little or slowwed down a little without really affecting the end result that much.
Not so with audio! Any speeding up or slowing down in an attempt to "match up" with the video, changes the frequence of the audio, distorting the sound. That only makes sense, right?
So if you have one minute of audio, you can't change that to 1:05 by slowing it down slightly, and you can't speed it up to play in :55 unless you want a little "chipmunk" effect. Either method changes the frequency and pitch of the sound.
Understanding that is key to using this particular embed method.
So if for some reason I just have to embed a video, here's a method that works pretty well for me. Set the Flash doc frame rate to exactly match the frame rate of the original video.
That means, for example, if the video was captured at 29.97 frames per sec., set the Flash doc to exactly match that....29.97fps. This will tend to keep the video and audio pretty well synced.
Here is a quick sample of an embedded video. The video bitrate is 400kbps.
    http://www.cidigitalmedia.com/tutorials/vid_sync/vid_sync.html
You can test and judge for yourself how well this method works.
Now there are some potential problems. If the video bitrate is too high, the video may not download fast enough... just like any other high bitrate video. Second, there are Flash timeline limits, so you can't really embed a 20 min. video into the timeline and expect it to work.... but then you shouldn't really be using the "embed in timeline" method anyway.
But it is possible to get pretty good results with short videos (with audio) embedded directly into the main timeline provided you set the Flash doc framerate to exactly match the original video and you use a reasonable video bitrate.

  • Audio and "multiple display" issues in Lion

    Hi Guys
Since I installed Lion, I have the following issues:
DTS and 5.1 does not seem to be going out to my receiver. It worked with VLC and XBMC, now it only works with XBMC and no other player.
So if I try to use VLC I can move it over from the main desktop to my HD TV, but no DTS.
If I use XBMC i get full DTS but have no way of ruuning it on the HDTV because the multiple display options are gone from preferances!!!
I used to be able to turn off the 27 imac display and use the HDTV display, cant do that anymore.
Also the magic mouse now has a life of its own and jumps around for no good reason and sometimes dissapears all together.
Any help would be great. Seems to me like this "upgrade" is not much of one...
Instead of more usability, I now have way less.

    Hi Andyjw
Assuming your machine has been behaving well for some time and this is just happening now suggests to me it's going to be bad news for you.
Before you take it to the repairers however, have you tried unplugging your iMac from the wall socket, waiting for, say, 10 minutes then plugging it back in again?
This is in addition to all the usual checks of course such as repairing permissions and so on.
Also, on one of your 'System' discs there should be an app called *Apple Hardware Test*. Have you tried that to see if it comes up with anything? I think you might have to boot from your System Disk to run Apple Hardware Test but I'm not certain about that.
    Good Luck

  • Audio playback and waveform gone

I have been using Premiere CC for months now and haven't had any issues. I see discussions cover similar issues but I am not having any luck with those solutions.
My project was working fine. I reopened it the next day to work on it and all the audio waveforms were gone on the timeline. It could play in the source monitor but not playback. I started over because I figured it was something I had done. I fixed it manually and shut the program down. I reopened again today. No audio or waveforms. Some of the clips kept the waveforms but still won't play. I exported to see if it was just in playback and no sound.
I am not a pro with Adobe so I need a very detailed break down of what could be the problem

    Hi emantey1013,
Have you used ant third party effects, plugins, After Effects composition or Plural Eyes synced audio and video in you project? If not then try the steps listed below.
Go to File>Export>Final Cut XML and export your project
Create a new project and inport that XML in it
Open your sequence and check if you get the audio or not

  • Audio and Video issue with Windows 8.1 upgrade on Ideapad n585

I upgraded my Ideapad N585 to Windows 8.1 the other day, took forever, but it made it through.  Unfortunately, I now get boot erors for the Dolby software, and the AMD Vision/Catalysyt Control Center.  Neither of these programs are able to start, from startup or even manually.  They just won't run.  Sound seems to come out fine still, but I do have video issues.
First off, my computer doesn't seem to recognize a HDtv as a monitor through the HDMI port.  I still get an image, but it's set to current screen resolution instead of 1080i.  I tried using the detect button to force it to look for a second monitor (my TV), but it showed nothing connected, though at the time I was using two screens.  Now my monitor's screen resolution seems to be a little higher than my TV's, but it doesn't fit the screen properly, and will sometimes put a black border around the desktop, not using the full screen.  I have also noticed, that when plugged into the tv, if a background program like a screen saver starts (and I am one of the few people who still use them, I like BOINC, sue me), it will reset the screen resolution to what it requires.  When the program exits, the screen resolution stays, and that becomes the new max screen resolution until I restart the computer.  So far, it only does this through the tv, if I run the laptop monitor alone, it doesn't happen.
I did try updating the software with what's available through the support site, but nothing happened.  I even went as far as to use the Windows 9x~XP standbys of completely uninstalling, manually removing everything from the system registry I could find relating to these two programs, and then finally reinstalling the software.  Giving the audio and video a complete clean slate to work from, and got no positive results.  I restart the computer, Dolby and Catalyst won't boot, and blind to HDtv.  Problems as described above still apply.
Anybody else have this issue?  Anybody got a fix?

have you found a solution to this?
My computer updated to 8.1 without my wanting it to, I have the same problems as you. I installed the video driver because the brightness was locked on what I had it. (the bar would move but did not change)
I searched for brightness and n585 and I was able to find a driver, now brightness works but HDMI still does not. When I plug in the TV both screens go black with all 4 options in the "project" screen.
    *edit*
this worked for me i stumbled across this
I unplugged the power cable with the hdmi cable plugged in. Hit (windows key+p) scrolled to duplicate and it worked.I plugged in the power cord back in and it still worked.

  • Application redraw issue over Citrix and Terminal Server

    Hi All,
We provide a client-server application which connects to a SQL Server database. The middle-tier is hosted on an application server (Windows Server 2008 R2) which in turn connects to the SQL Server database. The fat client can either be installed on user laptops/desktops
    or published using Citix/Terminal services.
We have a long standing issue which frankly I just cannot fathom. A customer has published the client via Citrix to users and using roaming profiles. If an employee is using the application in London, the roaming profile is created on a server in London and
connects to the middle-tier in London. If an employee is using the application in Glasgow, the roaming profile is created in Edinburgh and the user connects to the middle-tier in London. The customer is also using DFS
The roaming profile consists of the 'My Documents', 'My Pictures', 'My Videos', 'My Music' and 'Windows' folder. Distributed File System (DFS) is used for roaming profile folder replication between offices. See http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/cc732863%28v=ws.10%29.aspx
The Edinburgh users are experiencing application redraw issue where the interface loads in chunks. For example, when a user scrolls up and down or left and right, the data loads immediately (from SQL Server) but the interface (GUI) loads in blocks. You can
actually see each segment of the GUI components loading. The issue also occurs if connecting via a Terminal Server where the application is also installed.
For London users, it all works fine. If an Edinburgh user comes to London, they have no issues.
The network connection is super fast between the various offices.
The application is built using C++ and Delphi and uses the GDI API to draw the objects.
    Any guidance is appreciated.

    Hello partner,
Thanks for contacting Microsoft. This is Sophia who is going to help with this issue. From your description, I learnt that users from Edinburgh have application redraw issue. However, London users worked fine. Please let me know if I misunderstand your purpose.
Based on the information, it seems that the issue located in the middle-tier in London. Could you try building a middle-tier in Edinburgh and then test how the issue goes?
Besides, based on my experience and research, by default the allocation of the bandwidth is 70 percent for graphics data and 30 percent for virtual channel data, meaning when bandwidth usage is under pressure, graphics data is guaranteed to get 70 percent
of the available bandwidth.  And we can tweak the settings a bit for some scenarios. To change the settings, we can set registry values. Please reference the information below.
    ===========================================================================================================================================
Note: For these settings to take effect, the computer must be restarted.
Following is the list of registry values that affect the bandwidth allocation behavior. These are all DWORD values under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TermDD:
    ·         FlowControlDisable: When set to 1, this value disables the new flow control algorithm, making it essentially First-In-First-Out (FIFO) for all packet requests. This provides results similar to Windows Server
2003. (The default for this value is 0).
    ·         FlowControlDisplayBandwidth / FlowControlChannelBandwidth: These two values together determine the bandwidth distribution between display and virtual channels. You can set these values in the range of 0–255.
For example, setting FlowControlDisplayBandwidth = 100 and FlowControlChannelBandwidth = 100 creates an equal bandwidth distribution between video and VCs. The default is 70 for FlowControlDisplayBandwidth and 30 for FlowControlChannelBandwidth, thus making
the default distribution equal to 70–30.
    ·         FlowControlChargePostCompression: If set to 1, this value bases the bandwidth allocation on post-compression bandwidth usage. The default for this value is 0, which means that the bandwidth distribution is applied
    on pre-compressed data.

  • Windows 8.1 Audio and Video issues

I recently updated Windows 8 to 8.1 on my 2012 MacBook Pro and it now appers that Headphone/Line In have stopped working.
This only occurs in Windows mode, when running in OS X Mavericks the issue does not occur so I am assuming that it is a driver related issue rather than hardware.
I also have an issue with dual monitor setup, if I attempt to change the resolution or go from Dual to Single then back again, it fails to locate the second monitor again.  Once again, this all worked with no issue before the 8.1 update and no issue occurs while running OS X.
Has anyone else experienced these issues and/or know how to resolve them?
I have gone through device manager and it indicates that all drivers are up to date.

i too have the same issue.  I did a fresh Bootcamp install of Windows 8.1 64-bit on my mid 2011 iMac and my built in audio and headphones have stopped working on the Windows side.  OSX Maveriks is ok.
i also went to the device manager and all of my audio drivers are up to date...still no sound.
i have uninstalled and reinstalled all audio drivers, disabled then enabled them several times...still no sound.
i have unistalled the graphics driver (i read somewhere else that there was an issue with it)...but still no sound.
    can someone help us out?
NOTE: i have a usb audio dongle that works on windows.  but it only controls my headphones.  when i plug in the headphones into the built in audio jack on the iMac it doesnt work.

  • Redraw issues after FLA imported to Flash, and Compiled in Air

I created a test file in inDesign. It has 3 pages. The pages are pretty simple. Though there are some clipping paths and animation.
I ported the filed to Flash, as a FLA.
I added video in Flash, and some more animation.
I added code so the file will go from frame to frame, (what were the pages), on mouse click in the frame.
If I complie it is Flash, it works great.
If I compile it in Air, which I want to do, when it gets to the last page, it starts to have redraw-issues.
When the user clicks on page 3, there is a gotoAndStop(), which normally takes the user back to page 1. But in Air, the user gets to page one, but only sees page 3, as the redraw never occurs. I tested this very carefully, by rebuilding the whole thing and removing every element.
The issue seems to be, if I remove all the pagespreads, which are now "movieclips" in Flash, it works fine without redraw issues.
If I add any of the pagespread movieclips to a frame, as they were when imported, the redraw issue occurs, but only when I compile in Air.
Have you heard of this before? I was wondering if there might be some settting in Air that is conflicting with the inDesign created pages, which are now movieclips.I am hoping there is something that I can do to fix it, as I would like to continue to create the spreads in inDesign.
I am working on a PC in Windows Vista. I wondered if this was the issue as well. I can share the file if you want to see it, compiled in flash, and compiled in Air.
    Thanks very much,
    e

Just to update. this is relevant for inDesign users who want to port to Flash, and compile as an app in Air.
It turned out what was causing the problem was  my use of the TLF text. Air did not like it and caused it to error and not function. I rasterized the text on export as a FLA instead, and it compiled fine. It may be my use of kearning, hanging indents, etc. I refined the text alot in inDesign, as would most designers. Maybe the samples used in testing never had hanging indents? Anyway, it works fine, as long as I rasterize. This loses the nice TLF editing function in Flash. But at least it works and the text looks good.
Any info on this, or if anyone reproduces the error, I'd be interested in hearing.

  • Audio and Webcam issue

Recently, my HP ENVY dv6-7210us Notebook PC has stopped being able to play any sound from anything. The issue includes several programs being unable to run audio files due to this, rather than just playing the file and no audio coming out. Additionaly, I find out a few days later that my built in webcam also is unable to work, although a USB webcam may still work if plugged in. I am close to assuming this may be a hardware issue rather than software, but I am making sure all my bases are covered.

    Hi @InsanitySpiral
Welcome to the HP Support Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I see that you are having some audio and webcam problems. I will be happy to help you with this. Are you using Windows 8 or 8.1? For the webcam problems try this HP document Webcam Troubleshooting.
For the audio issue do you get any sound if you plug in a set of headphones?  I have included a number of troubleshooting steps below and a couple of documents as well.  There was an issue with a Windows Update that was causing sound problems about a month and half ago.  I don't imagine that is the issue at this point but if nothing else works there is a workaround for the Windows Update below.
The first thing to try is this HP support document No Sound from Speakers. It has a number of good troubleshooting steps including using the built-in Windows troubleshooter.
Another solution is to uninstall the driver manually then force Windows to reinstall it. Follow the steps below to do that.
Step 1: Open Device Manager and open Sound, video and game controller section.
Step 2: Right click on your audio driver and select Uninstall.
Step 3: Restart the computer. Windows will then force in the driver on startup.
The last troubleshooting step is to try creating a new user account to see if the issue is only affecting the one account. This can happen is something has been corrupted in the one user profile. This HP support document Managing User Accounts and Logins look under the section Creating a new account in Windows 8.
Here is the workaround for the Windows Update:
At this point, unless you want to reinstall the operating system, the only other option is to tackle the update, KB2962407.
Uninstalling the Windows Update, then hiding it, is the only method of eliminating the issue if it caused by this update. Here is the procedure for uninstalling the update:
Step 1. Go into Control Panel, then click on “Programs and Features”.
Step 2. Click on “View Installed Updates”. Look for the update with the ID number KB2962407.
Step 3. Right-click on the update and select “Uninstall”. Restart the computer.
Next, here is the procedure for hiding the update:
Step 1. Go into Control Panel, then click on “Windows Updates”.
Step 2. Click on “Check for Updates”. When the process is completed, is should find important update(s) available. Clicking on the message will open a window where the important update(s) is.
Step 3. Right-click on the KB2962407 update and select “Hide Update”. This will prevent the update from being installed next time Windows Updates are being installed.
