No audio comming out of my ipod.

So i picked up my ipod one day (its only about a year old) turned it on, and everything works except im getting no sound at all. volume on the headphones is on (ive tried 3 pairs) and the volume on the iPod is not muted.
Is anyone else having this issue? if so any fixes? thanks in advance.

I don't think that is normal behavior. The long press is possibly causing the system to force power down, which would then allow it to power back up.
Just to make sure, all drivers are up-to-date? Are there pending BIOS updates? If so, you'll want to make sure it can restart properly before applying the BIOS update
Try an Ubuntu LiveUSB or LiveCD to rule out software issues.
If that doesn't work, try taking out the battery and AC, pressing the power button ten times, then holding it for ten. This is usually the remedy for another issue, but try it anyway.
If that doesn't work, then try resetting the BIOS settings. Then try unplugging the CMOS battery overnight. Otherwise, might have to call for warranty.

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

I have the same issue when I try to export it through Adobe Media Encoder. I even tried to go through using After Effects and export through Adobe Media Encoder with the same results. I'm wondering if I might be better off uninstalling then reinstalling all my adobe programs.

Yeah , but you can only connect to Wi-Fi if you have a router , which in my case , I dont have one . "Peggle" audio comes out internal speakers instead of externals

Here's a weird one- last week I was working between my mac pro and a mac mini I had bought and was configuring for a friend. I borrowed the internet, mouse/keyboard, speakers, and one monitor from my dual monitor set up on the mac pro tower in order to configure the mac mini. While it was doing software update, I borrowed the keyboard and mouse, came back over to the mac pro, and played some Peggle- popcap games' wonderfully addictive arcade game. Since there were no external speakers, audio was temporarily routed to the internals on the mac pro.
When all was said and done with the mac mini, I reconnected everything, and for some reason, the music from peggle still plays out of the internal speakers. everything else on my computer: warning noises, the audio buttons, audio from other programs, even the SFX audio from peggle play through the line out on the back of the computer, but the music audio plays through the internals.
I went into system preferences --> audio and made sure everything was set to audio line out, and I deleted and reinstalled peggle, losing all my progress in the game, but still when i reinstalled it, same issue. If, however, I route all the audio through the audio headphone jack on the front of the computer, i can get music and sfx to come out of my external speakers, but as soon as I go back to the rear output, peggle's music goes right back to internal speakers.
I contacted popcap games, and they basically told me to delete everything peggle- system folders and all, and reinstall. I did that, but am having the same issue. Any ideas? anyone experience something similar? Help!!!

I can't speak to the specific case of Peggle, but you will want to make sure to delete any preference files associated with the game. Check in the /Users/your name/Library/Preferences folder for any files which contain the names "peggle" or "popcap", and delete any such files.You will, of course, lose any saved data associated with the games.

How can I airplay video to Apple TV but still have the audio come out of my MacBook speakers?

We have a projector with Apple TV connected but facility for Audio at this time. When we airplay a video the sound is obviously not there as it's streaming it to the Apple TV. Is there anyway we can have the video going to the Apple TV for the projector but the audio still come from the MacBook Air? Current models on everything all latest software

Hi, I just purchased a Sony HDR-HC7 Mini Dv High Definition Camcorder. Everything seems to work with iMovie except when you import there is no audio audible, that's no problem as you can hear it from the camcorder at this stage. The problem is that when you play the downloaded video the audio has dropped in pitch. Has anyone out there had this issue?

You may be able to "fix" this with QT Pro as you can change the pitch, but I would still report it to Apple. This is very similar to what I experience. It seems that the audio and video are not syncing properly and it is random chance wether it uses the "video clock" or the "audio clock" I your case it appears to have selected the video clock.

After updating to iOS 8.1.3 the AirPlay mirroring problem seems to be an result of this. Audio comes out but there's a black screen.

Mirroring my iPhone 6 Plus worked fine before the the iOS 8.1.3 update, but now only audio plays with a black screen, occasionally saying "an error has occurred, please try again later". I have tried many ways to fix this problem, but has been unsuccessful. This happened multiple times in the past too. I'm so mad they never improve and fix this problem. >:( Grrr...

If you are just getting audio then that is not mirroring. Are you going to control centre, tapping airplay and toggling ON mirroring?

With AIR 2.7, there is no way to switch between device speaker and phone earpiece on Android and iOS. All sounds, by default, play through device speaker only.
The link mentioned by Colin just presents a way to enable phone receiver on iOS. However thats a bug and will be rectified in future releases. So I will not encourage you to use that.
