No audio Compaq Presario CQ60-514NR Notebook

Question

One day it was there the next day it was gone.   I don't know if ear phone plug-in delivers.
Here's what I've done based on other models of notebooks:
First Try:
1. Right click speaker icon (right hand corner)
2. Select Playback devices
3. Right click Speakers
4. Enable it and set as Default
5. Click Apply/Ok
No change
Second Try:
First, try a Hard Reset as follows. Shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery, plug in the AC Adapter and start the notebook.
No change.
Third try:
NOTE > there is no Administrative Tools to Open: If you still have no audio, open windows Control Panel, open Administrative Tools and open Services. Check that the following services are all showing as Status= Started and Start-up Type= Automatic
Of the above I found started and I restarted them to no avail:
Multimedia Class Scheduler,
Windows Audio and
Windows Audio Endpoint Builder.
There was no Audio Service listed.
Forth try:
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55036.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, restart the notebook and let Windows fully load. Open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices. Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.
HARDWARE DETECTED NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS... ETC. NOW THE SET DEFAULT BUTTON IS INOPERABLE.
Ready to try a complete reinstallation of Win7.  Any ideas?

I suggest that you try Updating the BIOS and then Downloading or Updating Software and Drivers for HP Computers for the audio drivers.
