No audio device installed on Notebook HP Pavilion dv6-6132sl

I have a Notebook HP Pavilion dv6-6132sl and there is no audio device installed, not even read his own speakers and the HP support does not detect any problem.
How can I fix?
P. S.: I submit that I am Italian, I would be grateful if you did not use abbreviations because I wouldn't understand them.
Thank you so much, I hope someone will help me!

  • AMD High Definition Audio Device Not Plugged In (HP Pavilion dv6-6b09sa)

I have just booted up my HP Pavilion dv6-6b09sa (running on Windows 7) laptop to find that the sound icon has a red cross next to it and it claims that 'No speakers or headphones are plugged in'. In the Control Panel it states that the AMD High Definition Audio Device is Not Plugged In. As far as I know, I've done nothing to cause this.I have already tried:System restore to yesterday at 10pm;Instalation of a TDI driver from the HP website, however I do not know how to edit/disable/delete the old driver. I'm completely clueless about these things. Please help, I'm at a complete loss.

This happened to me too. I own an HP Pavilion dv7-1135nr (Windows Vista). The internal hard drive stopped working, I took it to a computer repair shop, they put in a new internal hard drive, asked Microsoft for a key code and jump started the laptop. I took it home with me yesterday, watched a few videos and wondered why the sound wasn't working. The volume light on the laptop base was indicated as red (which meant the volume was off, even when the volume on the laptop screen was on). The only way I was able to hear sounds from videos was when I put my ear phones on.
I read somebody say that this happened to them and they restarted/rebooted their computer. I did that and, expectedly, it didn't work.  I came across this page, opened up "Device Manager," opened up "Sound, Video and Game Controllers." Right-clicked the "IDT Device" and then uninstalled it. My laptop then restarted and thankfully the sound was back up. I didn't need to download anything or right click the "IDT Installer" or "Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button" or any of that. It thankfully came back without me having to do any of that. I restarted/rebooted my computer to see if it was a fluke, and thankfully it worked again.  Now I don't have to use my ear phones. My ears didn't like being pumped with sound, even when it was on low. My "Digital Display Audio" is still not checked green. It says that it's "not plugged in." But hopefully I won't run into this problem again in the future. Because if I'm a week or two or a month removed, the repair people I initially went to for my internal hard drive problem, will say that this was a separate issue caused by me and will charge me extra, when it was in fact caused by them (not maliciously of course, I guess this kind of thing happens when you replace a hard drive, as do a lot of other things which I'm not beginning to see). Thanks DavidPK.

Try system recovery.. I just did it and it worked! You should restore your computer to an earlier time before the sound stopped working..  And you can do that by going to the control panel. GOOD LUCK !!!

  • No audio devices installed? (Pavilion g7-1318dx Notebook Windows 7)

Someone please help me out with this, I would be so so soooo grateful.
From out of the blue my Pavilion g7-1318dx Notebook running Windows 7 won't play any audio at all. It says that there are no audio devices installed. I've been reading other posts on this forum for a couple days now, and none of the options have worked for me. Prior to the audio disappearing I haven't updated anything or installed anything new (though yesterday, I did install a few updates hoping that maybe the problem was that something was outdated... but it wasn't). I did a system restore, and still nothing. Also, I can't record sound either (obviously) as it's telling me there are no audio devices installed.
I ran the device manager, and under sounds, video, and game controllers the only audio device listed is AMD High Definition Audio Device (which is what my notebook uses for audio apparently, when I connect to my TV which, incidentally, works fine!) but the IDT HD Audio Driver is not working at all. I've tried reinstalling the driver, but I get an error every time and it says it's unable to install it. The answer might be a simple one to someone out there, but it eludes me.
So....anyone out there who can help me? Please.

You can try few more steps..
    i) Completely uninstall IDT first from control panel and then download it  from here
Temporily disable the anti-virus while re-installing the IDT.
ii) Run HP Support Assitant and check if any HP updates are pending..like BIOS Update..
Recently i came across a similar issue where the sound disappered after a adobe flash update also. So you an try uninstall/reinstall flash and check also.
    Let me know what happens..
Also if nothing works then the last step would be to perform a recovery (factory reset). If problem continues after recovery also the it has to be a hardware issue..
    Note:
If you have HP Support Assistant installed on the computer(The Blue Question Mark) then open it ==> Complete all pending Updates & Tuneups==> Restart and Check. It may solve your problem

  • "no audio device installed" message

When I try to adjust the volume for sound, I get a message "no audio device installed". I have already downloaded the driver for audio, but no difference.

    Hi @katrina2312 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your Compaq Presario V2000 CTO Notebook and audio issues. The Troubleshooting tool in Windows XP can automatically fix common problems with your computer, such as audio recording. Here is a link to a Windows audio troubleshooter.
    You can try:
    1. Right click speaker icon (right hand corner)
    2. Select Playback devices
    3. Right click Speakers
    4. Enable it and set as Default
    5. Click Apply/Ok
I hope this helps with the sound.
    Thanks.

  • No audio device installed (Big iss

Hello all,?I have Vista Ultimate and am using an Audixy 4. After installing the new drivers today (SBAXVSD_PCDRV_LB_2_2_0002) I lost my sound. At the device manager i see that "This device is working properly."?When I go to Controle panel/Sound I see the device but I almost none of the commands work (Disable, Test, Configure) only the Properties work but there I cannot do anything useful. When I right click on the Sound icon at the bottom right of the screen and go to Open Volume Mixer, it says "No audio device installed"?Yersterday I also had this issue and reinstalled Vista with a fresh install which fixed the problem. Today I had the same thing again and decided to use my onboard sound card (RealTek, 623_Vista_APO), and nothing changed! I am still getting the same errors as with the Audixy 4. Is there any sollution to this Vista bug??Thanks for reading

I am not sure why anyone is not replying with a resolution but I am having a similar problem. I am having a computer custom built and the Technician building it claims that Windows Vista will not recognize both the Soundblaster Xi Fi Extreme Music sound card and the MSI 8800GTX 768MB video card that I have chosen for the configuration. This is due to some conflict. The Technician claims the problem is the sound card and Creative needs to update drivers before this configuration can be done. Is this true? Can anyone explain why? I know Creative has Windows Vista drivers but apparently for this situation it does not resolve the conflict.

  • "No Audio Device Installed" in Windows Vista.

Back in september 2011 I mysteriously lost my audio. I have a red X over my speaker icon in my system tray. When I put the cursor over the speaker icon I get this message "No Audio Device Installed". I went to the HP Customer web page and found the audio driver: Realtek High Definition Audio Version 6.0.1.5548 (sp37324.exe). I downloaded the program and saved it to my download folder. I put a short cut to it on my desktop. The only way I can get sound is whenever I turn on my computer I right click the desktop short cut and run as Administrator and install the program. My sound comes on. It works as long as I keep the computer on. Whenever I restart the computer I'm back to the red X over the speaker icon.
Now, Windows Update has sent me (on 3 occassions the last couple of weeks) an "optional update"...the Realtek High Definition Audio. Each time I download it and install it and do a restart, but I get the same red X over the speaker icon. It's Ground Hog Day!
My question: Is it safe to uninstall the Realtek High Definition Audio driver and reinstall the sp37324.exe without totally sending my audio into a Black Hole? BTW,I don't have a recovery disk.
I hope someone on this forum can help me. I've exhausted all avenues.

    Hi,
My suggetion: Totally uninstall it, reboot the machine and install it again. You can uninstall it from
       Control panel > Device Manager
It should be under Sound ...
       Right click it & Uninstall

  • No Audio Devices Installed

I was listening to music today when all the computer no longer played with the headphones. I would put different headphones in the jack and it would only play on the computer speakers. Then the computer froze and I had to reboot it. Now under the sound file it says there are no audio devices installed. What should I do?
    Any help would be great!

    HI,
EHanrehan, you have a loptop DV6700 hece please post in the Laptop section.
    Hi,
WError, if you are getting Error Code - 10, then it represents that the drivers are not installed correctly.
In order to resolve the issue, unintsall the Realtek Realtek High Definition Audio Driver from Program and Features. Restart the PC and then install the drivers from Recovery Manager. You can also download the driver sp26860.exe and then update with sp37324.exe and your issue will be resolved.
    Good Luck

  • "No audio device installed"? Help?

I have a dv9500 that I got from a friend, I keeps telling me that there is no audio device installed and won't let me play sound. The obvious answer for me is to install and audio device...but how do I do that? I'm usually a bit computer savvy, but I'm lost on this. I would really like to be able to have audio, How do I fix this?!

If you click on the "Start" button and right click on "Computer" and select "Manage" and then after the window opens, select "Device Manager" in the list on the left... when it opens up, you will see the list of devices installed and check to see if you have a sound/audio driver installed. Let me know what you see.     I'll keep trying to assis you.

  • T400 No audio Device Installed

My T400 has all the latest drivers which say "working properly."  However I am still without functioning speakers and microphone.  When I go to volume mixer I see "No audio device installed."  I have been trying to troubleshoot this for weeks and have been unsuccessful following various tips.  I also called the brilliant phone support who couldn't even get my email down correctly to send me the self-guided troubleshooter or whatever they called.   Does anyone have any suggestions I could try to correct this problem.  Much thanks in advance!

If you have just installed XP then that could happen if you do not have SP3. If you did just install XP then update to SP3 and reinstall the audio drivers again. Otherwise we will need more info.

  • Driver windows 8 - Entertainment Notebook HP Pavilion dv6-6030el

    Hello,
I bought just 1/2 years ago the Entertainment Notebook HP Pavilion dv6-6030el. it's operational system was windows 7 and now i have upgrade the operational system's with windows 8. The problem it's that i can't find the drivers for the various hardware that are present in the notebook.
How where i can find the drivers?
    Thank you
    Luca from Italy

    Try here.
     http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-drivers-software-forum/556469-drivers-hp-dv6-4xxx-dv6-6xxx-dv7-5x...
The page blankets a number of models, so be sure and choose the drivers that are applicable to yours.
Note that if you install the AMD driver from there, some of your advanced features may be missing. So in this case you may have to use the W7 driver from you HP support page.
Do a clean install of the driver, just don't install it over top of the old one.

  • No audio device installed after upgrading to windows 7???

after upgrading to windows 7 audio is not working error audio device not install driver error...

    Hi,
You will need to identify your CPU and chipset. CPU-z is a free and safe utility that can do that for you.
If your system has an Intel chipset with disccrete or onboard graphics or an NVIDIA chipset with onboard graphics, then the drivers are here at this Realtek download page.
If your notebook is an AMD CPU and NVIDIA chipset, with a discrete graphics module installed, then the driver for your Conexant CX20549-12 will be here.
Post you results here in your thread so others rsearching for the same information can benefit from it.
    Best regards,
    erico
