No Audio For Windows XP HP Nc6320 Compaq

Hello! I finally found this thread and hoping that you can help me solve my problems.
I am trying to install the UAA Audio Bus Driver and ADI SoundMax to my laptop because this is what I think the reason why it has no sound at all. It still shows in my device manager that it has yellow question mark on the logo and I know that it needs updates. The name appearing in the device manager is not UAA driver but "Multimedia Audio Device" and the name that must be SoundMax is "Unknown".  I tried to install and update the device but updating is my problem.
Please help me.

Hey Brian,
I had the same problem as you. After scouring the internet I found the solution and collected all the directions and necessary files for future use. You can download everything you need from my .mac public download page under the folder name "XP Sound Fix". Hope it works for you!

  • OT: looking for Logic Audio for Windows XP

Apologies for the crass request, but I'm looking a cheap copy of Logic Audio that will run on Windows XP. I just found some old Logic Audio recordings I did years ago, but I've lost my LAGW 4 CD, and in any case, I'm not sure if LAGW 4 even worked on Windows XP .... I've come to love Macs at work, but I haven't saved enough to make the move at home.
    Thanks,
    Kevin Murphy

I assume the key you refer to is analogous to the dongle I have for LAGW, and it sounds as if you are not willing to part with yours . I don't care much about stability, since my main interest at the moment is to do an audio track dump (with edits) and MIDI export so I can continue working in Cubase in the near term. Contact me at [email protected] if you are willing to help me out. Otherwise, I'll keep looking. It's frustrating ... there must be many thousands of people out there with unused copies of Logic Audio for Windows, especially since it was never very stable, even on Windows 95 .

  • I have several Files created in Logic Audio for windows bfreo v 5 wich  can't open in Logic Pro X. Any ideas for a solution to his problem,

I have several Files created in Logic Audio for windows before v5.5.1 which  can't open in Logic Pro X. Any ideas for a solution to this problem, The Windows files that were created in v5.5.1 open OK.  I lost my XS key during a recent house move so can't update to windows files before trying to open in Logic Pro X
    Swingtones

If you can open the windows files  in windows you can bounce the tracks out as audio. Then load them in X

  • No audio in Windows Vista Home Basic - Compaq Presario c765TU

    Hi all,
A couple of days ago, my Compaq Presario c765TU lost audio while fastforwarding through a movie I was playing on VLC. The video was stored on an external hard drive. Tried playing music and video files stored on the laptop's local drive, still no sound.
Audio drivers and BIOS have been updated. Audio devices are listed as installed and working properly in the Device Manager.
Contemplating on doing a clean re-install of Windows Vista to see if that will work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's hard to know exactly which it is at this point.  It could be one of two things.  The speakers have failed or the jack detect pin located inside the headphone jack has failed.  A non-functional jack detection pin would cause the system to route audio to the headphone jack constantly instead of the internal speakers.
If you want to be absolutely certain it is not a software issue (corrupted registry possibly), you can try the system recovery making sure to backup your files.  I suspect this is a hardware issue, but it could very well be a corrupted registry causing the jack detection pin not to be read properly.

  • No Audio for Windows 7 bootcamp, Tried to fix multiple times, STILL FAULTY!

I have a macbook pro 17" OS X 10.6.4, I'm running windows 7 on bootcamp, and everything is up to date except my bootcamp which is at version 3.0.2.
I have no audio and there is that red light inside my headphone jack, I can hear sounds when my headphones are plugged in but they are ridiculously quiet. I have read up on this problem just about everywhere I could find and have tried anything from installing the most up to date Realtec audio driver, to reinstalling the OS X CD drivers, to even the "poke around until you hit a switch inside the jack" trick.
While poking around inside the red lit jack I've had it go off, only to turn back on as soon as I try to watch a video or anything with audio. So that doesn't work for me apparently.
I'm out of ideas and I dunno what else to do. Somebody please help!

I have the same problem, with vista, on an intel iMac.
I tried uninstalling the driver, restarting, and then bootcamp automatically reinstalls the driver, but that didn't fix it. The driver is there and everything appears to be as it should but just no sound comes out unless I set headphones to the default, in which case the audio is way too quiet.
I'm trying to repair my bootcamp install from my leopard disk but I got an error code 2727 and couldn't even attempt to try fixing the issue that way.
It's so annoying, because I'm trying to play starcraft ii, which is impossible macside because mac os insists upon having ridiculous mouse acceleration. I managed campaign macside but now it's time for some serious competitive play and I just need to do this on windows, but no sound.

  • Keynote audio for Windows

I'm trying to prepare a slide presentation in Keynote, that I'll export into Windows.  I can also prepare the presentation in the Mac Version of PowerPoint in Office.
My problem is in embedding an audio file.  I know AIFF will not work on a Windows machine.  I've embedded a .wma file, and it doesn't seem to play, either.
What audio file format do I need to embedd into the program so that it will play on a Windows machine.  Obviously, almost any type of file will play on a Mac, but some of the viewers of the presentation are not yet enlightened.
    Many thanks,
    Czet

These files are Windows Media Audio and are specifically designed to play on Windows. You should test  the wma file on a Windows machine, if at all possible using Windows Media Player, to test the file will play at all.
The issue with exporting Keynote to PowerPoint is the link to the sound file is lost during export.
The sound file is exported to a separate folder called Keynote.ppt_media, this must be copied over to the windows machine with the PowerPoint file or there will be no sound file to use.
The work around is to open  the exported PowerPoint  file in   Windows or Mac version of Powerpoint, delete the sound file and then replace it using;    Insert > movies and sounds.

  • Compatibility with Logic Audio FOR WINDOWS

    Hi
I'm considering buying a MAC to do sound recording on. I used to do sound recording on a PC using emagic Logic audio gold 4, running Windows 98. I still have all the old .lso files. Any hope in heaven of asking a mac running Logic Pro 7 to recognise these? If Apple's as clever as it seems to be, this should be doable shouldn't it?
    Thanks

  • Multimedia audio controller driver for windows 7 on compaq presario r3000

I installed Windows 7 on Laptop Compaq Presario R3000. Everything is fine, however, multi media controller driver was not installed. I would appreciate if you let me know where I can get it. I have Driver CD for Windows XP that came with my computer. Thanks.

    You're very welcome.
Looks to me like you have to manually install the XP audio driver as follows...
Download and run this file.  If it installs the audio, great.  If not...close out of any error windows.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-18403-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...
Go to the device manager and click on the multimedia audio controller needing drivers.
Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.  Select the Browse my computer for driver software and browse to:
C:\SWSetup\sp27325\SMAXWDM\W2K_XP\smwdmNV8, and select the SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio device from the list and see if the driver installs that way.
    Then reboot.

  • AUDIO DRIVER of compaq presario f761us for windows XP

where can I down load the audio driver for windows XP.
my notebook is compaq presario f761us.
ps: there is no audio driver in HP's web sit as below,
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=228&lc=en&cc=au&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=36787...
    Thank you.

    Hi:
I looked around and all I could find were audio drivers for Windows Vista.
If you can connect your notebook to the internet, I recommend you download and run this free tool called Device Doctor. It has helped me out lots of times.
It will scan you computer and then find the drivers from a database somewhere in cyberspace.
Hopefully it will point you to the XP audio driver. I don't recommend you update any drivers that are working but for ones that you can't find, you have nothing to lose.  Again, your notebook must be connected to the internet for this to work.

    Hi, Viresh:
I can't stay awake anymore and am going to call it a night.
I have a dv6810us that has the conexant smart audio 221 chip. I upgraded my notebook like you did to W7 64 bit.
I used this Vista 64 bit conexant audio driver from my notebook's support and driver page and it worked perfectly right from the beginning.
Give it a try, and I will read the results tomorrow. Hopefully it will have worked for you.

  • BIOS for windows 7 ASUS P5BW-LA BASSWOOD HP Compaq 775 MotherBoard

I am building a new computer with a (HP/Compaq name: Basswood-UL8E ) P5BW-LA (Basswood) motherboard , CPU/Processor Socket: 775, chipset Intel P965 with an Intel Core 2 Duo E6x00 with Dual Core technology (Conroe)  installed on motherboard. I am new to this and need help in finding the latest BIOS for a 32 bit system running windows 7 Ultimate. (Hopefully) I have no idea where to start.
I have the motherboard and put the conroe intel chip in as well as the heatsink fan also a 600 watt power supply and 8 GB kingston 240 pin DDR  DIMM x4 @ 2 Gb each. As specified on the data sheet for the motherboard.
How do I find the right BIOS for the above as well as how to install all from scratch.
Any help would be highly appreciated
    Regards (NOOBIE) to any helpers.
P.S What is: Two additional PCI when using an optional PCI extender card. and what do I ask for to get a PCI to  a PCI x16 into the extention socket.

BIOS is cross platform firmware. The downside of using the mobo  is that there is no newer BIOS than the original one under Windows XP.  That motherboard was installed in the HP Pavilion  d4600y and is a good source for reference information.
Download the chipset software for Windows 7 32-bit from Intel.  That will be your only option as there is no Windows 7 support for the  P5BW-LA BASSWOOD  motherboard at HP.
Use the chipset identification software from Intel  Your motherboard has the Intel P965 chipset. The disk controller chip(?) and the audio chip (Realtek ALC885). The southbridge chip is the Intel ICH8DH. The LAN solution is the Intel 82562V chip.

  • No Audio on either end Cisco Jabber for Windows over Cisco AnyConnect

Our telephony staff is replacing our aging/unsupported VoIP system with a Cisco system and as the network tech, I'm trying to get Jabber for Windows to work over our AnyConnect VPN client.  Jabber to Cisco phone and Jabber to Jabber calls work fine within our LAN.
However, when I take a laptop to a separate internet connection and connect to the network via the VPN, I can't get any audio to pass across the system, in either direction.  If I call a phone on our LAN using the Jabber client (via AnyConnect), the phone rings and when I answer it, it's just dead air on both ends.  If I reverse the process, calling from the phone to the Jabber client, the same thing, Jabber client rings, but dead air both ways once I answer.
Things I can do from the laptop over the VPN connection:
I'm able to get to the phone's web interface using that same laptop.
I can ping the phone as well.  In fact, the VPN profile I'm using has full access to the entire VoIP Vlan including all IP traffic (all ~65,000 ports).
Searching the address book also works fine.  I can search for staff and it's pulling directly from our Active Directory environment.
Is there any special settings on the firewall that I need to setup to allow the voice traffic (which I assume is RTP traffic)?  I tried to add a service policy for RTP traffic, but that didn't seem to work...unless I built it wrong.
    Jabber for Windows - 10.6.0
    Cisco Anyconnect - 3.1.06079
    Cisco 5515-x ASA - 9.2

I was able to resolve this on my own.  I thought that SIP traffic needed to be inspected via the global inspection policy in order for it to pass through the firewall. I ran into the same issue with ICMP traffic from an Anyconnect client to LAN devices. I had to enable ICMP in that policy for us to be able to ping LAN devices over the VPN tunnel. So when I saw that SIP was already being inspected by this policy, I moved on looking for other solutions. Then I stumbled deep within a Google search (almost hit the end of the Internet doing so) where someone mentioned that SIP shouldn’t be inspected by that policy. So I unchecked it and bam! Voice is now working over the anyconnect client to phones on the LAN.

  • Unable to select 'Use Phone for audio calls' on Cisco Jabber Client 9.6 for Windows

    Hi,
I have recently deployed Cisco Presence Server and integrated with Call Manager 9.1.2. I have successfully deplyed 6700 users on IM & Presence. Some of the users requested for Cisco Jabber with phone control.
I have added CFS client on the Call Manager and associated it with the same extension numbers from their desk phones. I am currently able to make audio and video calls for these specific users. I am currently using Cisco Jabber Client 9.6 for windows. I have users both daisy chained to their desk phones and who are not. Can you please confirm if it does make any difference.
    Problem Faced -
I am not able to use to option use phone for audio calls. The phone comes down with a cross sign on it. At the same time Cisco Jabber by default uses the client and it works as expected.
Can you please let me know if any of you guys have faced a similar issue.
Please let me know if you need any information regading the configuration used.
Looking forward for your valuable comments.
    Thank you.
