No audio from built in speakers

I have a HP  G60-530US notebook... My problem is no audio from speakers. I do have sound from head set when pluged in..

Sounds like it might be something inserted that was broken off inside. Was probably done trying to free up the digital output inside the jack when no audio first appeared. Don't think it would be part of the jack that hasn't retracted, but if it were, you'd be facing a repair -- not sure how expensive, but could be expensive enough. If something broke off, can't think of an easy way to get it out. Maybe some double stick tape or adhesive on the round tip of something: insert, make contact and pull. But don't think you'd get enough traction. Might end up leaving the adhesive or tape inside, which wouldn't look great when you send it back. Probably just send it back.

  • HP Pavillion dv5-1235dx laptop - No audio from built in speakers of recently purchased laptop

I purchased my laptop (HP Pavillion dv5-1235dx laptop) from best buy on Saturday, May 9th, less then a week ago. Yesterday the audio/sound stopped working completely - from the built-in speakers.  I can hear ALL sound just fine from headphones.  Only the internal speakers aren't funcioning.  I did online troubleshooting, and also chatted with a technician, and I still have the same problem.  I ran all updates, the status on the sound driver says it is funcioning properly.  Even the little fluctuating green bars (on the volume control) SHOW that sound is coming out, but still unless I have headphones in, no sound comes out.  The HP monitering software DID pop up and say there were critical errors and the computer needed to be updated yesterday, but I don't know if that was related because once I did all the updates, the audio still had the same problem.  Please help me out.
    Thanks,
    Kalli

If it is less then a week, just return it to bestbuy. You may have a loose connection in speaker jack.
Have you try to use recovery DVD? try to install it to the factory setting.
If it does not work, definitely you have a hardware problem.

  • TS1574 no audio from built-in speakers and red light visible through the headphone port

My 15" late 2006 MBP has just stopped producing sound from the internal speakers and for the first time there is a red light visible inside the headpbone output port. Apple support says contact support but since I'm a long time out of even my extended warranty I wondered if anyone had a fix-it suggestion I might try myself?

Try to plug the headphone into and out of the headphone socket couple of times
to flip the microswitch in the socket.
Red light visible means sound output is stuck in digital mode.

When I play any video file only picture is visible but no sound is coming from built in speakers. Also audio is not coming although I connect headphone. The speaker icon in the system tray have 'X' (Red cross mark) on it & when I hover mouse on it is displaying message "No Audio Output Device is installed", so I cannot open the volume control.
I don't know how it happened suddenty. Everything was working perfectly fine before. I have not uninstalled any driver. My laptop comes with preconfigured Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 edition & Altec Lansing speakers. Also I can't see "Sound, video and game controllers" in the Device Manager. I tried to "Add legacy hardware" to add "Sound, video and game controllers" in Device Manager, but I couldnt find out the Altec in the manufacturers list.
HP customer care suggested me to install Conexant High-Definition Audio Driver from ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp40001-40500/sp40170.exe. But when I try to install it, I am getting error "Driver Installation failed : Could not find the device for this driver."
Can anybody suggest me how can I enable audio without loosing my data on it?

    Sanjiv
Go to Sound via Corntrol Panel. In Playback tab you should see Internal Speaker/Headphone with message showing the conexiant working and also a tick in green circle.  If not select and apply or OK.  This should solve your proble. If not then follow this:
Go to Device Manager via the Control Panel and look under Sound, Video and Game Controller. The active drive like High Definition Audio Driver should be listed.  Right mouse click (dont do anything but select Properties and select Driver Tab and see if "Roll Back Driver" is high lighted, if yes then revert back to your previous driver.  I think from here on you should be able to manouvers around and get your sound.

  • No sound from built in speakers but headphones ok, pavilion dv6

    HI all,
Out of a sudden , after watching a youtube video, my speakers and headphone gave  noise when I was RE playing the video that I watched seconds ago.
I restarted my lap, and then didn't hear a sound at all
checked my drivers and updated them
the headphone is working fine. but when I unplug it I hear no sound from my built in speakers. though the drivers are working fine.
took my lap for maintenance to get it cleaned up and checked, they told me the speakers are connected and the wires are all fine! but the problem still exists.
they wanted me to leave it with them to be checked ... but I just didn't trust them since they suggested the sound card is damaged! if it was dagamed I don't think I'll be getting any sounds ! right ?
please, can any one tell me what could be the problem ? and how to solve it ?

running windows 8.1 for the past year

    Hi Chaand,
You can try installing this IDT High-Definition Audio driver, it is not for your model but it is a Windows 8.1 driver. There are no Windows 8.1 driver for your model. If installing that driver doesn't work then it is a most likely a hardware issue with the speakers and you should have either a local technician take a look at it or send it to HP for repairs. You can reach HP Total Care at 1-800-474-6836 in North America or start here if you live outside of North America.

  • Run audio from microphone to speakers?

  • No sound from built in speakers on iPhone 4

I had this problem once before and am not sure how I fixed it.  When I unplugged my earphones I no longer get sound via the built iin speakers.

Unfortunately I didn't. I took the time to make an appointment with the Genius Bar and was told (by an unusually smug tech) to go home, back up my data, then restart the phone with the power button and center button down.  If that didn't work to then Resotre as new through iTunes.  I had already done all that so it seems I will eventually have to get a new phone. I asked said agent before I jump and pay for a new (4S) phone if there was the iPhone 5 set tp debit.  He answered unequivacally that there wasn't.  Several days later there was a news story hinting that there was.  With all that said I will live with my phone that sometimes rings and sometimes doesn't for as long as I can and wait to see what story is correct.
If you haven't tried any of the above you should (it worked once for me several months ago).  Good luck.

  • How to call people from built-in speakers?

Does anyone know how you can call people from Skype™ with no microphone, but only from speakers? My friend wants to know this, he apparently wants to use some soundboard, and if you call from your speakers, the person you are calling can only hear the soundboard but nothing else like background noise or anything.
He's been bugging me to find this out, lol. Anyone know? He has a MacBook Pro 15" OS X Lion.

for others to hear you or for you to record your voice a microphone is required
a speaker can never be used at all it's just a magnetic construction which moves air to  produce sound

  • Playing from built-in speakers while on dock

SO my new 5th generation iPod nano will charge on my dock but when I try to listen to music it comes out of the iPod and not the dock stereo... can I fix this?

Is there somewhere onthe ipod that i need to set "output" ?

  • Only system sounds play from built-in speakers/headphones!

    Hi All,
I'm at my wit's end right now. Here is the situation:
I woke up this morning and tried to watch a YouTube video off of facebook- no sound. I opened up iTunes to try and play music- no sound. I opened up iMovie and launched a video clip from my HD- no sound.
I delete a file- barely audible sound. I made an error and got the "bonk" error sound- barely audible. As if I only have it at one ) bar, but its at MAX volume.
So I plugged in headphones- The "empty trash" sound works perfect (loud) at max volume. Error messages sound perfect- but when I try and listen to iTunes/YouTube/ANYTHING... no sound.
Troubleshooting I've done (to no sucess):
    Logout/Login with headphones plugged in
Restart with headphones plugged in (both suggested from http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12799085&#12799085)
    Updated Quicktime (as per http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2178)
    SMC Reset
    PRAM Reset (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12767451&#12767451)
^ I got VERY excited from the PRAM reset- After self-restarting a second time, the Apple GONG was LOUD (max volume) while all other times it was barely audible.
Unfortunately, it only effected this feature, and nothing else was fixed.
    Any suggestions?

So my husband told me that the night before I discovered this issue, he was using his Apple Remote to lower his sound, and it lowered my iMac's sound as well.
He used that same remote to lower, raise, and do anything and everything to my iMac volume, but I haven't had any luck getting my sound back to normal.
