No audio from downloaded TV show

I got this week's episode of Harper's Island, and there is no audio on either the SD or HD version. QT says there is audio in the file, but I can't hear it on both my mac mini and macbook pro. Thoughts?

This was the reply I got from one iTunes customer support:
"I understand that your purchase of "Thrack, Splat, Sizzle" has no soundtrack. I know how disappointing this may be. Please know that I'm more than happy to assist you in this matter.
From time to time, the iTunes Store updates the items in the catalog to ensure the highest possible quality for our customers. It's possible that " Thrack, Splat, Sizzle" is being updated and is therefore temporarily unavailable. I cannot say when this item will be added to the iTunes Store. *Please try to purchase it again in a few weeks*."

thank you for getting back to me.
The slide show works fine, including sound, from within Organizer. It
also works fine when I export it as a video. Just PDF isn't working.
In the meantime, from various contributions in the forum, I gather that,
unfortunately, the Organizer (just like Lightroom) simply does not
support adding music to PDF slide shows. Apparently, there is a way to
do that using Acrobat Pro (only costs 640 Euros).
You may consider my question answered.

Black Screen with Audio for Downloaded TV Shows from iTunes

Hi,
When I try to watch TV shows that I downloaded from the iTunes store..I just get a black screen with audio. I've tried un-installing and re-installing. I'm currently running version 10.1.1.4 on my Win XP Pro machine. I downloaded the entire "Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors" series and cannot get a single ep to give a picture. I've heard that quite a few people are having this issue. Any ideas?

I can get a picture with Quicktime...but if I try to get enlarge the screen, the picture often becomes corrupted. I'm just rather annoyed that I spent $40 on this series and am having these issues. I only downloaded iTunes because there was no other option of getting this show. I've waited 24 years to see the entire "Liberty Stone" Mini-series (there was a problem with the tapes DIC released and they were missing eps)...so this just feels like a taunt.
I'm hoping this gets fixed quickly. It sounds like there is a lack of standardization with the DRM being used on these files.

No 5.1 surround audio from purchased TV shows in iTunes 10

I only recently started connecting my laptop via HDMI to my receiver to watch blu-ray. Now that a lot of TV shows are being offered on iTunes I wanted to watch some purchased shows via the same setup. 5.1 audio has worked with my DVDs and BDs as well as other videos played on VLC. When I change the audio during playback to surround, it goes silent; stereo is working fine. What do I need to do to get it working? Any help would be appreciated. If if matters I was testing it with the free episodes of Lone Star and My Generation, which both should have 5.1 audio.

Problem - I have the same problem as the original poster but have slightly different hardware. I only get "stereo" two channel sound when playing a DVD (with Dolby) on my computer. The computer is connected to an audio receiver that is set up for surround sound. Video and audio signals are transmitted from the PC via the HDMI connector on the video card. The receiver shows that it is only getting a Dolby 2.0 signal from the PC.
Computer - HP Pavilion m9400t
OS - Vista 64
Sound - Onboard Realtek 7.1 High Definition Audio (ALC 888S)
Video - Nvidia GeForce 9500GS with HDMI output
Connected to Onkyo TX-SR706 Receiver via HDMI cable from video card. The Onkyo receiver has speakers connected for 5.1 surround. Video signals are passed through the receiver via HDMI to a LCD TV.
On the PC I have the sound playback device set to "Realtek HDMI Output". When I click on "Configure" I only see a choice for "Stereo" in the speaker setup window. There is no choice to select "5.1 Surround".
I've done an extensive Google search and found this is a widespread problem, but I haven't found a solution yet.
It seems that problem is with 1) the onboard Realtek sound driver or 2) the Nvidia Video driver not handling the HDMI correctly.
I've downloaded the latest audio and video card drivers, and the newest Realtek High Definition Audio Codecs from the Realtek site, but still the only HMDI audio output choice on the PC is "stereo".
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

NO AUDIO on downloaded TV Shows (and I have 7.0.3 Pro)

Just downloaded a TV show tonight, no audio but the video plays fine. iTunes Music plays fine. Audio in other quicktime movies that I play, that plays fine too. Also, I had a music video that I had downloaded from ITMS a few months ago, and the audio won't play on it inside the iTunes app. I d/l 7.0.3 QT update.

I re-downloaded QT 7.0.3 and reinstalled it. I deleted my pref files for both iTunes and QT. No fix. Will Apple refund my $1.99?

Do you mean that the file is in the download folder?
Anyway, wherever it is, the usual thing is to move it to the iTunes Music folder (or wherever you usually keep your music) and then tell iTunes to add the file to your iTunes Library. Only then can you put that music onto your iPad.

Video does not syc with audio from a tv show that has been purchased

I purchased a tv show and cannot get the video to sync with the audio. Does anyone know what you need to do?

Does the TV show gives problem in the iPod or iTunes?

5.2 update does not send audio from video played via Apple TV to AirPlay-enabled speakers and devices or AirPort Express.

I just updated my Apple TV to release 5.2, which is supposed to give Apple TV the ability to "Send stereo audio from movies, TV shows, and other videos on Apple TV to AirPlay-enabled speakers and devices (including AirPort Express and other Apple TVs)." Problem is, this does not seem to be the case.
I have two AirPlay enabled devices:
1) Bose SoundLink Air
2) AirPort Express
In the Apple TV menu, I selected Settings, AirPlay, Bose SoundLink Air. I then played a video; the audio from the video played from my projector's speakers - not from the Bose speaker. I then went back to Apple TV's Settings/AirPlay and selected "Airport Express" (which connected via an aux cable to a speaker)...audio continued to play over my projector's speaker. I can, by the way, play audio on both the Bose and the speaker connected to the Airport Express if I select either of them from the AirPlay menu.
Am I doing something wrong, or is the 5.2 update not working as described?

No. But, are your speakers only connected to the AE or are they also connected to an amplifier?
You would need to use a Toslink cable to go from the Apple TV to the speakers/amp.

Can't find downloaded audio from our iTunes U Site

We are testing a password-protected site.
We want students to be able to directly download content to their iPod Touches, without going through a computer. Once downloaded, we can see video files, but not audio ones. This is on iPod Touch 3G, freshly restored with iOS4. Can someone else test this for me?

Guitar Recitals has only one group. I downloaded 1-Italiana and 2-Etude in Bm. Once downloaded, I can't find them anywhere on the iPod. However, if you do a search, they come up and can be played!
Videos are not a problem, they show up under Videos.
Anyone have any idea where the audio files would be listed?
Are we doing anything wrong with adding metadata? Right now there is only an image.
The audio files show up correctly in iTunes on a computer, under iTunes U as part of a podcast, the problem seems to be the iPod. This is also an iPod support question, but I thought I'd start here.

Just some additional details:
1. Audio files directly downloaded on the iPod Touch from open sites in the app iTunes>iTunes U show up in the app Music>iTunes U, and are grouped into their respective podcasts. Audio files downloaded from our password-protected site are nowhere to be found (unless I'm blind), and when they are through search, are not grouped with files in the same podcast, in the little upper file list window (like open download files are).
2. Video files directly downloaded on the iPod Touch show up in Videos, and are grouped as episodes in their respective podcasts, but video files downloaded from our password-protected site are displayed as belonging to individual episodes, though they are part of one podcast.
Wondering if adding any metadata to the files before uploading would fix this, or if this is a bug.

Did you burn the CD as an audio CD?
If not, that's your problem. Otherwise, without more details I can only guess. You might try a different brand of disk, or if you're using CD-RW try CD-R.

I am trying to download previously purchased music from iTunes, it show "purchased" in iTunes Store but does not show up under previous purchase tab

There are several albums that I've previously purchased that somehow were deleted from my computer & iPad. When I go to download available purchases on PC it say that all available punches have been downloaded. When I check iTunes Store it show as "purchased". When I try to check & download from iCloud via either iPad or PC these items do not show up under items purchased.
I can't even re-purchase the item, which I've tried since it shows as purchased in iTunes Store. This is very troublesome because there is no way for me to access these previous purchases. I have been using iTunes & various Apple products with the iTunes Store for several years & there is a lot of money invested in these previous purchases, that there is no way for me to access. As mentioned, I'd even be willing to re-purchase some of these items (though this should be unnecessary). But, the iTunes Store won't let me, because the items show up as purchased in store, but not on any of my devices!!!
Help!

Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
If, while searching through your past purchases, items are unavailable to download and show a "Purchased" button, they are still on your computer. It may be best to search your iTunes library by clicking Music, then use the search bar at the top right.
If you are completely sure the items are no longer in your library, try signing out of the iTunes Store, and then back in.

How do I stop iTunes from downloading multiple copies of a TV show?

This is driving me nuts. Using Doctor Who as the example, for each episode released, iTunes tries to download two HD copies and one SD copy. I don't need the SD, nor do I need to duplicate HD. Yet I can't stop it from trying to download them when I start iTunes, nor can I figure out how to permanently remove or cancel a pending download.
Anyone have any idea how to stop this?

Didn't have much luck matching search terms for this before posting, yet after posting links came up referencing other queries in which people asked how to stop iTunes from downloading the HD and SD versions of a TV show. Consensus seems to be that iTunes will always download each version, which is just plain silly. Haven't seen any explaination, however, on why it then tries to download a second HD copy.

That is correct. This is the way it is ALL HD purchases come with the SD version.

If the TV Show is downloaded on your iPad, you don't need Wi-Fi to watch it.

HT204406 I can't seem to download songs from iTumes Match on my new iPhone 5. It still works fine on my iPad. Both are running ios6 and there is plenty of free space on the phone (20 GB or so). The download icon shows & flashes but nothing happens.

I am trying to play songs from iTunes Match on my phone everything is enabled. The songs and playlists show up but when I select one it won't download or play. The download status icon next to the song name flashes on and off but nothing happens. When I go to the iTunes Store the download section shows the same behavior - it flashes that there is 1 download continuously but nothing downloads. My iPad on the same network also running ios6 works fine. Any ideas?

Problem closed (although not resolved). After working with Apple support, no resolution was found. I asked for a refund of the iTunes match purchase price, which was granted. Interestingly the support tech, who was very nice if not particularly helpful from a technical point of view, spun the "resolution" of refunding my iTunes match purchase price as a positive one, here is a quote from the final email
"I'm glad to hear that you're not having issues with the songs you've purchased. Nothing makes Apple happier than to hear that our customers concerns have been rectified."
It is notable that I never had an issue downloading music directly purchased thru the iTunes store, the only issue that existed was downloading songs that I ripped from my CD collection and "matched".
I'm happy that I received my money back, however I wish that the iTunes Match service worked for me (I was looking forward to this service). I'm most upset at the time I wasted trying to fix this problem.
I'll now download music the old fashioned way: syncing with iTunes directly.
