No audio from Firefox Hello partner although speakers work.

Hello,
I just upgraded Firefox Hello to the latest version, 37.0 (on Ubuntu 14.04), and the audio stopped working in Firefox Hello. This had happened a couple of Firefox versions back as well and then started to work again miraculously after an update. My microphone works fine, the other can hear me, I just cannot hear them. Other audio such as YouTube or even the Firefox Hello sounds when the other party joins are fine.
When trying another WebRTC service such as talky.io, the same problem occurs: I don't hear what the other person is saying.
When using Chromium, everything works fine without having had to make any changes in the audio settings on both computers.
Look forward to any suggestions on fixing this or if I have to wait for a browser update.

Try a System Restore back to just before you processed the "System Update". From the Start screen, type "System Restore" and select Settings at the upper right and then click on "Create a Restore point" at the upper left and follow directions.
If you post back to these Forums again, please include your COMPLETE model info as in my examples below.

This happened to me too. This problem started suddenly with no changes made on my part. I had 11.2 Flash version with Firefox 13. I tried updating to the new Firefox, same problem, then updated to Flash 11.3. I even uninstalled RealPlayer.
I read a solution on another forum and it was as easy as clearing my cache. Everything works fine now (even after reinstalling RealPlayer and allowing the download button function).

No Sound From Headphone Jack, Only Internal Speakers working in Macbook Pro A1278

Hello, the internal speakers of Macbook Pro A1278 OSX 10.7.5 are working perfectly, but no sound from headphones or external speakers when plugged in. Headphones/speakers recognized when plugged in, shown by System Preferences/Sound, and since the sound stops from internal speakers when headphones/speakers are plugged in. No red light seen coming from headphone jack, as I read in other posts. The problem began after a cable was connected between computer and stereo system. Maybe overloaded the sound card and burned out a connection? Wondering if you think that the sound card needs to be replaced or is there another solution possible? Thank you.

Audio from Microphone Repeats - No External Speakers

This one is a little odd.
We are getting an echoing - but not from open mics /
speakers. It's like the audio is being re-routed into other audio
streams and we have no idea why. I'm working through the soundmax
drivers now.
I'm unable to get any consistent points to determine what is
happening, but it is not speakers / open mics.
Has anyone else had an echoing - more of a repeating - from
microphones?

The sound / audio set up for the computers with this issue had the recording properties enabled within the audio settings - effectively re-broadcasting all of the other User's microphones within the session.

No Bluetooth boxes I am aware of but it sounds like a good idea for hearing impaired people. FYI, Sennheiser makes some RF cordless headphones that are designed for hearing impaired people to aid them with TV watching. Running Widows Vista system, every time I try to copy and paste from Firefox DEP shuts down Word Works

Microsoft Works Word Processor. I have tried turning off DEP for Works but it still shuts down the Program.

This is might because of your prior change in softwares. so first you have to do run '''sfc''' in run command. and then you see the specific problem which causes this . Since System File Checker (sfc) scan will make Windows replace corrupt or missing system files on your computer.
* Click Start>All Programs>Accessories>right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator.
* Click Continue or supply Administrator credentials if prompted.
* In the Command Prompt window type the following, and press Enter:
sfc /scannow

No audio from iTunes...but it worked before :S

I hate it when this happens: works one day, not the next...just like my subordinates at work. ;>
I double-click on the song title, the little speaker icon appears next to the track title, and that's it--no audio. I can drag the "time slider" up at the top to any point within a song and even after I press play, still nothing happens.
Under nominal use, little "audio lines" would flare from the speaker icon (after double-clicking on a tune), indicating that the song is playing...and indeed it could be heard. But they don't appear, now.
Here's the mystery part: nothing's changed in my computer over the weekend--everything worked fine as of last Friday.

Get Info Volume Adjustment: None;
Windows Media Player plays songs (not downloaded from iTunes) just fine;
I uninstalled iTunes, d/l it again from Apple, then installed it--nada.
I'm able to still purchase iTunes, but they won't play like the non-downloaded tunes.
Arrrrrrrrggggghhhh! I'm going through music withdrawal here at work.

let's try a careful standalone QT 7.0.4 reinstall.
download and save a copy of the QT 7.0.4 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.

I'm viewing this from Firefox because Safari doesn't work

Safari simply doesn't work for me from most networks. Any attempt to load up any web page gives me a "Safari cant find the server" message. Every other browser works: IE, Firefox, lynx, even wget works. But Safari doesn't. It only fails on ethernet networks. For example it refuses to work at the hotel I was just staying in and at a friend's house. But it works at home or at a convention I've just been to because they provide wireless. Every other internet service is working fine and every other browser is fine. What does the type of network have to do with the browser? And why does it only affect Safari?

After several hours I solved my own problem. There was an http proxy set. For some reason it was only active for ethernet networks. The error reporting in Safari is dismal. It could have reported "cannot find proxy", and maybe even told me what proxy it was trying to connect to, rather than just giving a vague report that it can't connect to the host forcing me to work sequentially through every single menu option in an attempt to track the problem down. This is supposed to the the OS that "just works", not Windows.

I have received a pop-up supposedly from firefox about an update but it doesn't look right to me.

I won't download it until I'm sure it's really from firefox.

you can always manually check which version you're on and apply any updates available by going to firefox > help > about firefox - the latest version at the moment is firefox 17.0.1.
in the past week we have seen some similar reports of malware trying to imitate firefox updates (see [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/942851] for example). so just to be on the safe site, please do a full scan of your system with the security software already in place and/or a different tool like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes].

No, I don't think there is a reason to stay with it, if it is not working well for you, personally
I prefer Safari it works well for me.
If you do not have the Debug menu activated I suggest you do so.
You can do that with Onyx or the Terminal app. if you search Debug menu in AD, Safari category you are bound to get some hits: )
I am not saying you will, but don't delete your Safari app if you decide not to use it, It barely takes any space MBs .

There is activity on the windows sound bar (green level moves) when music is played, however no audio is executed.
HP Support Assistant software was installed, but no detection of the problem.
No warranty since March 2011

Doesn't sound like encouraging news, though it is odd that the sound came back for a short while at least. If you still haven't rebooted the PC since putting it to sleep and loosing the sound, then I would suggested going ahead and rebooting or even doing a full hard reset (power down, remove the AC adapter, remove the battery, hold down the power button for 20 seconds or so, then reconnect the AC power and Battery and boot up) to see if the sound can be recovered again.
If the sound still doesn't work, Check Device Manager to see if the sound driver still looks OK, make sure you are using the latest driver again (it looks like the latest driver is 6.10.6381.0), another option might also be to try the older driver that is still available from the site, or try recovering the original driver shipped on the PC. The steps to do these things are covered in the document listed below, in Step 6 (Restoring the Audio Driver), Step 7 (Updating the Audio Driver), and Step 8 (Checking Device Manager):

If none of that seems to help, I'd recommend testing the hardware using Step 9 in that document.
If the online warranty check sees you as out of warranty, you may still be OK if you have the original proof of purchase (receipt) from wherever you purchased the PC, but you may have to provide it when calling HP for service if the sound can't be fixed. If you are close to the end of warranty I'd recommend calling customer care for your area (I assume you are still in Asia) and validating the warranty with them as soon as possible just to make sure.

No audio from speakers on pavilion dm1z-3000

I'm getting no audio from the internal speakers on my pavilion dm1z-3000. Headphones work fine, haven't tried HDMI. I tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling the drivers I got off the HP website (sp51371.exe) with no luck. After installing drivers the audio worked for a few seconds, started stuttering, then quit completely. Thanks for any help!

As the previous poster noted... I would suggest updating your bios to latest version. From what i can tell that should be version F.03 SP 51519. Also check back in a week or two F.05 will release to hp.com as well.
In addition once you have confirmed you have F.03 bios you can try to run the troubleshooting tool located at the following URL. I have had success with this tool in the past.

I have a splitter for my audio jack so that when i connect up my second monitor I can have it so it also plays audio as well as anything else i have connected into the jack but how do i let the internal speakers emit sound at the same time?

If you mean the internal speakers in your Mac, you can't play audio through them at the same time you have anything plugged into the headphone jack. When you plug something into the headphone jack, it disconnects the internal speakers.
