No audio HP Pavilion TS Sleekbook 14

My HP Pavilion TS Sleekbook 14  has no audio.

Solution:
In the device manager locate the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC under sound, game and video controller.
Right click and select uninstall.
Restart your computer and open up the device manager again.
In the same spot under sound, game and video controller where the IDT CODEC used to be listed there will be something else listed.
Right click on that and select "scan for hardware changes" this will reinstall the IDT CODEC but I believe it is the updated driver which is actually compatible.
It has been working for me so far, but I will keep you updated if it fails again. For now  I would try that!! good luck

  • Delete Beats Audio HP Pavilion 17-f115dx

Is there a way to delete the Beats Audio on my HP Pavilion 17-f115dx? I have looked at other posts on how to delete it but they do not seem to work for my model.
    Thanks.

    Hi @FoxenXI ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion 17-f115dx Notebook and the need to disable Beats Audio. To enable or disable Beats Audio, press the fn key in combination with the b key. The Jack does have influence on the Beats Audio which might need to be turned off.
Here is a document on how to uninstall software. The bottom link shows you how to disable software.
    Hope this answers your concerns.

  • Weird audio issue pavilion dv6

    Hello,
I recently bought a pavilion dv 6 (HP DV6-6B50ED), but i have a weird problem with the audio. Sometimes, the laptop randomly starts using the speakers for sound, even when i have plugged in headphones. This happens at random. For example, yesterday i was watching a youtube video, with headphones plugged in. The sound was using the headphones. However, a friend of mine tried to contact me through steam chat. The calling sound used the speakers. After i accepted the call, the sound from the chat went through my headphones, while the sound of the youtube video suddenly started to use the speakers. This is very annoying, so is there a solution for this problem? Thanks in advance.
Operating system: windows 7 64 bit.

    Consider / Try:
Sound > Playback Devices [Speakers] - [Headphones] > Properties >
Advanced Mode > Section Exclusive Mode
CHECK / UNCHECK "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device"
CHECK / UNCHECK "Give exclusive mode applications priority"
It sounds like the various applications are fighting over the speakers and headphones.
    Good Luck!

  • No audio from Pavilion 15 Notebook PC

    Product Number is  K1R58EA#ABU
I'm reciving no sound from my HP Pavilion, not even through headphones.
The orange mute light comes on when I switch my laptop on, when I turned it off it does nothing.
I've tried the of following and they have not resolved the issue:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-PC-Sound-and-Audio/No-sound-after-Windows-8-1-update-on-HP-Pav...
Please help I have only had this laptop a week

    Hi @irishwomderful
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you are getting no sound at all from your new notebook, either from the speakers or using headphones. I am happy to assist.
Were you getting any sound at all when you first powered on the notebook, or was there never any sound?
If you did get some sound originally, then it is possible that something was installed or changed while installing other applications, that affected the sound. If so, then you can try either a system restore, to a point before the problem began, or a system recovery to the factory defaults. Before choosing the recovery option, be sure to back up any important data to an external source.
Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)
Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 8)
Troubleshooting HP System Recovery Problems (Windows 8)
If neither of those help, then as it is new, I would recommend giving a call to our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region.

  • Getting rid of beats audio HP PAVILION 17-F136DS

I'm verry dissapointed with HP decieving its customers with this beats audio driver. How do I remove it on the  PAVILION 17-F136DS model? I've tried using the methods for other hp models but cant find the idt high deffinition codec in the device manager. I just want a normal audio manager that doesn't deliberatly screw up equalizer settings.

    This is insane!
I even went through and renamed the Realtek folders in program files (I did this while using WIndows drivers; I'm not dumb enough to delete stuff that's in use) and ran the vanilla updater that Realtek themselves claim doesn't have any of the manufaturer's customizations... and Beats Audio still came back instead of the real Realtek Audio Manager.
I don't know who actually likes or feels it's "quality" to have audio volume that doesn't sound anything as intended, or force lower bass than flat when disabling this crap equalizer, but I do not! And I did not pay almost five hundred bucks for a laptop that can't even have a vanilla control panel installed or the stupid volume levelling turned off. This stuff triggers my anxiety for reasons I can't explain, so it isn't even just a case of "I don't like it" it's a case of "I panic when the music starts to swell but instead of getting louder everything is cornered into the same volume level and feels unfulling" so as is it's completely unusable.
And, frankly, "use default drivers" is unacceptable because they suck. I have to set headphones as default, I lose Stereo Mix, my speakers sound like total garbage, and I can't even swap between speakers and headphones in the middle of a game or youtube video.
I need a method to get the real Realtek Audio Manager, and I need it now. Because I'm not keeping this thing no matter how fast or fun or whatever it might be when I can't even get decent audio quality out of it.

  • HP Pavilion TouchSmart Sleekbook

Ever since about the second month of owning my sleekbook my monitor has been freezing while the software continues to function properly. Since then the problem has continued to worsen to the point now where I can hardly use my computer because I cannot see what is happening on the screen. It is most likely an issue with a connection to the monitor or an issue with the video card. I know others with a similar problem and have done online research and found many others in a similar situation. The comuter is still covered under warranty and has never been dropped or been damaged by improper care. I need to either return my product or have it repaired. How do I go about this?

Call 1-800-HP-INVENT and get it shipped in for warranty repair. Anything else we tell you to do would jeopardize warranty coverage.

  • Stuttering Audio on Pavilion DV-8333ea

I am trying to solve problems for a friend with the machine in the subject. Firstly the background -
My friend was having an issue with a virus so stupidly ran HP PC repair option and wiped all their information I have retrieved all their missing data using various tools however I have a problem the restored system had what I can best describe as stuttering audio whether system sounds/music web pages etc. also I get stuttering movement with all mouse's whether touchpoint or external
Firstly I ran a complete factory install now that I had the data and when it was complete stuttering audio problem was still there updated all drivers from HP website and problem remains ran windows update and did all updates and still a problem.
I then decided to do a clean install from a Windows XP Disc with all drivers and updates and the problem remained. So I thought I would have a crack with Windows 7 just in case it was something to do with XP when done no audio in device manager exclamation mark at this point mouse ok so installed drivers from HP and guess what? I then got sound but still stuttering and mouse problem returned.
At this point I ran a PCLinuxOS Live CD on the system and the sound and mouse/touchpoint works perfectly so to my mind it cannot be a hardware problem and has to be driver based.
I have now reinstalled XP and up to SP3 with all updates and done a clean removal of all audio drivers and then reinstalled current drivers on site for audio but the problem still remains, the touchpoint moves with pauses and thought that it was a seperate problem however when audio drivers are cleanly removed the touchpoint problem goes away so they do seem to be interlinked.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am now out of ideas and feel like throwing the **bleep** thing in a skip.

    freskagirl,
    Try the following steps.
    1. Open up device manager.
    2. Locate your audio driver.
    3. Right click and uninstall the driver.
    4. Go to the toolbar in device manager and select "scan for hardware changes."
    5. After it completes, reboot the notebook.
Let me know if that resolves the issue or not.
    Best of luck!
    -Kyle

I grasp that you are having a difficulty installing the audio driver. Here is a document I believe will help you with the installation. High Definition Audio Driver will not Install until the Microsoft UAA Bus Driver is Installed.  If you require further assistance, would you provide the product number of your computer and the operating system you are running. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?.

  • Audio output malfunction, HP sleekbook AMD 10

In attempting to revert my audio back from IDT to Beats Audio, I think I messed up my audio drivers entirely, because now I don't even have an option of selecting laptop Speakers from the Sound & Devices window.

EDIT: I used the HP Recovery Assistant, and I have my sound back, but now the audio is coming out of the speakers on the bottom of my laptop instead of the speakers on the top, next to the keyboard. The audio quality is good, but now it's muffled from not coming from the right output :/ any tips?

I understand that after updating  and then reverting back, you lost the sound. You used Recovery Assistant and the sound has returned, but it is not coming out of the top speaker, but just the one on the bottom.
Here is a link to No Sound from the Speakers (Windows 8), please note step 4,"set default speaker test".

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Open windows Control Panel, open Windows Update, select 'View update history' in the left hand pane and then select 'Installed updates' link in the following window.
Locate update KB2962407, right click it and select Uninstall.  When done, restart the notebook, open windows Control Panel, open Windows Update and select 'Check for updates'.  You'll see the update you just uninstalled being offered again - right click and select 'Hide Update'.
After this you may or may not need to delete and reload the Audio driver - if you do, the procedure for using recovery manager to reinstall Software and Drivers is detailed in the document on the link below.
    Recovery Manager - Windows 8.
