NO AUDIO IN LEFT CHANNEL:What is the quickest/easiest way to troubleshoot?
Can someone tell me how to troubleshoot the left audio channel? No sound in speakers nor headphones no matter what the source. Could this have been caused by the case being recently opened for the hard drive replacement (by an Apple authorized shop)? Is this a common problem in older iMacs? I'm capable of some techie work (I have done PRAM battery replacement, etc). Tried restarting and no change. Any ideas, let 'em rip this way! Thanks GREG P>

What's the best (easiest way) to clear up voice recorded from far away?
I decided to record my professor during one of his lectures.
I sit in the back (power outlet~), and thus the voice is really muffled.
I figured I'd be easily able to clear up the sound later in CS6.
Sounds easy anyways, but for some reason, I'm not having any luck in it.
I've done much more complex restoration stuff (no where near pro, just ocd haha), but never worked with voice before.....
Any ideas will be helpful. Pretend like I've only used audition for a few days.

What's the fastest easiest way to burn an iMovie into an iDVD
I created an iMovie for my cousin who is going on college interviews tomorrow. I did not realize that in order to burn a DVD, I would have to create a whole new project in iDVD with stills, videos, music etc...
I need to burn the movie quickly. Any suggestions on a simple way to burn a movie onto a DVD would be greatly appreciated.

a. Use iMovie HD 6
b. Close iMovie and locate the movie project icon
c. Open iDVD and select an as simple menu possibly eg Brushed Metal (old themes)
d. Import movie or just drop it into iDVD window - but not into a button zone. (Import is easiest)
e. I choose
• Pro-Quality encoding (handles up to 120 minutes incl menu)
• DVD-R disks
• Verbatim
• x1 burnspeed (can be set in iDVD pref/Advance)
• minimum of 25Gb free space on internal boot hard disk
Limitations
• iDVD only cares about duration of movie (NOT GBs at all)
• SlideShows limited to 99 photos each (or do iit in iMovie)
• iMovie'08 and 09 not tools if High Quality is of need from miniDV material

It says I've got 12,3 GB free space left, of my total 25GB. But my iPhone tells me there is no more space to take pictures or download stuff. It clearly says I have 12,3 GB left. What's the issue here??
The issue is probably space on the phone, not in your iCloud account. (Space in your iCloud account does not give you more space on your phone.) Check Settings>General>Usage at the top to see how much available space you have. If it's low, you'll have to delete or sync something off our phone to make room for more.

I am useing FCE 2. After rendering the video playback is jurky about 10 frames at a time. Audio is fine. What created the problem?
I had been working on the project for a few days. It is mostly pix and a couple videos. It has several scrolling text segments. Everything was going fine, then after a rendering a large scrolling text it started. It appears that it skips 12 frames each time as I'm playing back.

What is the most efficent way to create both a standard and HD DVD

I'm just getting into HD video editing, and I have relatives who will be several years behind me. I will be making HD DVD's for myself to use, but I will also need to make standard DVD's to send to my relatives.I am assuming that the HD DVD's I create will not play in a standard DVD player. I may be wrong. However, If this is correct, is there a particular point in the process of working with Encore where I can make that choice, create the DVD, and then go back and alter it in order to create the other type without destroying and having to redo everything that was done up to that point?Thank you Hunt. Being ahead of most of the rest of the world and getting the best technology out there can be a pain sometimes. Reading through Jon Geddes' article left me scratching my head several times, and some of it went way over my head, but I'll keep at it, until it sinks in. I would edit the Project in HD in PrPro. The BD authoring part will be straight workflow.
For the SD DVD-Video, you have a few choices. You can Export to DV-AVI Type II for Import into a new Encore Project for the DVD. Some feel that PrPro does not do a good job at down-rezing from HD to SD. For a workflow that will likely yield better quality, see this http://www.precomposed.com/blog/2009/07/hd-to-sd-dvd-best-methods/. If you have PrPro/Encore CS4, then Jeff Bellune's /thread/487134?tstart=0 might be useful to you. Just follow the links to the tutorial.

Yup, I used the Range Selection tool. It's a great tool, when for e.g. you want to lift ambient room tone from a portion of an audio clip to paste elsewhere.
Anyway, I am just experimenting thoroughly with all the tools and workflows, to find quickest ways of doing things. To answer your question(s): an example in which you would want to do what I mention above is if you wanted to quickly apply particular Effects/Parameters/Settings to a portion of a clip, like a sepia tint, and wanted to be able to easily click back to that portion later, see e.g. below:

What is the quickest way to access the Settings on an iPad?
What is the quickest way to access the Settings on an iPad? (I mean, the usual cogwheel "app" called Settings)
In particular, I'm looking for a quicker way (or a more convenient one) to access it from an open application, than hitting the "home" button, possibly swiping the home pages, and tapping on it.
(I know, I know, I already placed it in the bottom bar, so I have it available from all pages...)
It would be great if I could cut another step or two. I mean, there are situations where I need to use the Settings app repeatedly. I wonder why it was not included in the iOS 7 swipe-from-bottom menu, while the "Camera" or "Countdown Timer / Clock" made the cut.
I know everybody will have a different opinion on what should be included in that menu, and choices have to be made, but still...
for example, on my Android smartphone the newer OS updates placed a shortcut to the settings app in the upper-right corner of the swipe-down menu, which is like the most prominent place you could place it in.
Anyway, do you know of one or more alternative ways to access the Settings app?
(Oh, and yeah, it just occurred to me that I can four-finger swipe it, if I have accessed it recently, but again if I access another app or two in between it will become at least as cumbersome as going through the home page).Anyway, do you know of one or more alternative ways to access the Settings app?
