No audio in .M2TS video file.

I just opened a Sony .M2TS video file which I want to edit, but there is no audio. What am I missing?

I  solved my problem by opening the video in another program and saving it as a mp4 file. I was then able to edit it in Photoshop and the sound was fine.
I am an old-time Photoshop user, but this is the first time I ever tried to edit a video.

  • IPhone 4S keeps playing audio from a video file that is no longer on my phone.

If I'm listening to music and try to change tracks or pause with the earbud buttons the music fades out and starts playing audio from a video file. It will only play about 3-4 seconds and then stop. This also will happen when double clicking the home button to try and change tracks. When I do that the track skipping buttons won't work and there's no title for the short bit of audio that plays. The only way to get music to start playing again is to go into music and press play again. The music I had been listening to is sitting there paused. The audio from the mystery video file still sometimes plays even when you're in music and the only way you would know is the little play icon at the top right part of the screen. I have removed every video off of my phone and it still does it. This is really frustrating.

Sounds like a bad battery.  You'll need to bring the phone into Apple for evaluation.
I'm sure you've been using your phone as designed and properly backing up your data, so you should have minimal, if any data loss should the phone need to be replaced.

  • Downloading audio from a video file from iTunes?

I have a 40G 4th Gen click wheel iPod (no color or video). Is there a way to download just the audio from a video file that I have in iTunes?

I use Steve's method all of the time, and edit the Audio output in Adobe Audition. You will want to Export/Share to PCM/WAV @ 48KHz 16-bit, and keep that format both going and coming back into PrE. Remember that you will be working with an Audio file, that is the full (or almost) Duration of the Timeline. When you Import that edited Audio file, give the program a few moments to Conform that newly Imported PCM/WAV for editing. I suggest not touching the computer, until Conforming has completed 100%, and the little progress bar in the lower-right of the GUI has disappeared. If the Imported Audio file is short, and your computer is fast, you might not even see that progress bar, but the Conforming has taken place, just the same.
I like to keep the original Audio on its Audio Track(s), and just use Window>Audio Mixer to Mute that/those Track(s), leaving only my edited Audio on its own Track un-Muted. This is a "fail-safe," just in case I change my mind along the way, and wish to revert to the original Audio for some reason. It is much easier to Mute-Unmute, than to gather up all of that original Audio again.
    Good luck, and happy editing,

  • Can I  rip the audio from a video file?

I have a video file with a band singing on it. I have an ipod nano, so I can't import the video with the singing onto my ipod. Is there anyway to rip the audio from the video file and put that onto my ipod?
    -Thanks

Open the video in Quicktime Player.
    Select the Export menu item.
Change the Export type to "Sound to Wave".
Save the WAV file somewhere with the default settings.
Load the WAV file into iTunes and use iTunes to convert it to AAC for the Nano.

  • Why do I not have sound when I import a M2TS video file into LR4? ?

I have M2TS video files stored on my computer.  When I import a file into LR4, I have no sound.  I also tried importing files directly from my Sony camcorder, but still have no sound.

How many sound channels does your video have?
    Lightroom does not support 5.1.

  • Cut audio from a video file and edit in an audio editor?

Using Pre 9 and a Nikon D7000 video file: Is it possible to cut the audio portion of a movie clip (where the audio was recorded in the camera and is part of the import), edit in an audio editor (I like Sony Sound Forge Studio), then paste it back into the clip?

  • Burning audio only from video files

    Hi,
I'm trying to burn podcasts of one of my classes onto CDs (iPod is out of service, final is coming up, want to listen to them while driving), but they're video files. Is there a way within iTunes to extract the audio and burn only that? Should I use an outside program?
    Thanks!

    Nevermind, I just used garageband.

  • Premiere not showing all audio tracks in video file?

    Hello,
The short version of my issue is that I am not seeing all audio tracks in my imported AVI video. I know they are there, but only one track is showing.
    Longer version:
I have an application called Action! that is used for recording games. There is a setting on this application that allows you to record your microphone as a separate audio track.  I made a 15 minute video using this. If i play this video in Action!'s media player, i can switch between my game track and my microphone track. If I play the video file in Windows Media Player, it plays both tracks. When I import this video file into Premiere (or Soundbooth) it only shows the Game track and not the microphone track. I cannot find a way to get to the microphone track. It just seems like it doesnt exist. Any thoughts?
    Thanks in advance

  • Change audio speed of video file

I have a video file from the internet archive and its video speed is normal however the audio track is slow.
The video runs for approx 1 hour 20 mins but the audio track has been stretched out to just over 5 hours.
I am looking for a way to pack the audio back into its normal 1 hour 20 mins space.
Is it possible to fix this in premier pro cc? I am completely new to this software but I figure it will not be that hard. I'm just finding it difficult to find this issue elsewhere online.

Normally Premiere does not stretch audio on its own.
Could be the file has some exotic codec.
Anyway unlink the audio from the video (rightclick on file in timeline) select Stretch Tool and shrink the audio.
Hope this will work for you.

    Steps to reproduce bug:
    1. Record long video clips on mrc1k recording unit cf card so that clips will be split into multiple sections due to fat32 filesystem.
    2. Clone disk image of card on to computer's backup hard drive using Disk Utility.
    3. Copy contents of card image on to editing drive array.
    4. navigate to folder containing media using premiere pro media browser, card is recognized as "Sony HDV".  Single recording is represented by multiple clips of about 21:42:28 in length.
    5. Import media, wait for indexing and conforming to complete.
Results: Video clips are shown as separate video files.  Upon importing these multiple files and arranging them in a timeline, there are one-frame audio dropouts between gaps in the files.  This is unacceptable for long-form non-repeatable event shooting.
Expected results: The video files should be recognized in the media browser as a single spanned clip with no audio dropouts in-between file gaps.  I should be able to drop these clips into my timeline with no degradations.
Here at Cornell University we have been using our z5 camera to shoot non-repeatable events with long-recording times (Usually lectures, seminars, long-winded academic speeches).  We had previously been able to use final cut pro to ingest our media, but are switching to premiere pro in an attempt to simplify our workflow.  Alas, I still have to use final cut pro or clipwrap to fix the problem with our media.  If you have any guidance, please contact me at [email protected].  Thank you!

As far as I know, the only way to consolidate long MRC1 clips without dropped frames at the join points and without going through FCP is to use the Sony RU_UTIL Windows program. Maybe there is a 3rd-party OSX app - I have never encountered one.
My file workflow right now is an absolute mess as I transition to tapeless and am adding DSLR's to the mix. A single point of ingestion for all assets - video, stills, and audio - as well a single catalog for easily locating any of these does not seem to exist. I've tried Bridge, Prelude, and PPro Media browser with little success. It may be strange, but Lightroom is currently my best solution for importing and cataloging videos (and stills). It allows me to keyword and rate and organize and locate videos and stills across my system. It doesn't interface to PPro, but at least I can easily find whatever I'm looking for. I know I'm going way off-topic here and I'm sure your needs are different than mine, but the ideal workflow for me would be for Lightroom to be able to export assets to a PPro Project and also for Lightroom to manage audio files. Maybe someday.

  • I cannot hear the audio attached to video files.

When I load in a video file saved as a .avi format that has audio and video included I cannot hear the audio. All that is coming out is what sounds like a swamp wildlife soundtrack on every video (Which is really odd).
How do I correct this problem for Adobe Premier Elements 13?
    Thanks

Please determine whether or not your recording device is recording with a variable frame rate.
To do that, take the file into a video audio properties readout program such as MediaInfo (Tree View). If you see 3 frames rates given
for the video, then your video was recorded with a variable frame rate. Premiere Elements often does not usually fare well in that type of
situation. If frame rate found as variable type, next step would be taking the video into HandBrake and converting it to a H.264.mp4 files with a constant frame rate of 29.97 frames per second rather than a variable frame rate.
    https://handbrake.fr/
More on all this once we get some further details of your results.
    Thank you.
    ATR
Add On...MediaInfo is a free program and extremely useful, however its download and install can be flawed with unwanted carry along
software. Proceed with caution. If you can get your variable vs constant frame rate information from another source (like the manufacturer of your recording device) best do that. The following is listed as a safe download
    http://mediainfo.en.softonic.com/
but I have not tested it. I am working with an older version of MediaInfo where this type of nuisance did not exist.

  • No audio when importing .M2TS video file into PP

Hello hopefully someone can give some insite to why I'm having this problem. I'm using the Hauppauge HD PVR to capture HD footage from my DVR
and I'm getting mixed results when I import into PP. The video is fine and sometimes the audio works and other times it doesn't, I let PP comform the file before I try editing it. The captures are @1920 x 1080 in 5.1 audio, if I capture with just 2 channel audio I have no problem and everything is fine but capturing 2 channel audio kinda defeats the purpose of doing highdef to Bluray. When I view the same file that doesn't have audio in PP with a player everything plays and sounds fine, so I know the capturing process is fine. Any suggestions would appreciated!

    Welcome to the forum.
First, what version of PrPro are you using?
In earlier versions, pre-CS4.1, you need to copy the AC3 .dll from Encore to PrPro, to use AC3 Audio. In CS4.1 - CS 4.2, that is no longer necessary.
Now a note on Exporting DD 5.1 SS. You will need the Minnetonka SurCode DD 5.1 SS plug-in. You get 3 trials of it, then must purchase it to Export as DD 5.1 SS. If you go this route, purchase from within PrPro, as you will get an Adobe-user discount of ~ US$50. If you buy from the Minnetonka Audio site, you'll pay full price.
Also note that Hauppage might not create 100% DVD/BD compliant DD 5.1 SS. That could be an issue too.
    Good luck,

  • I want to extract audio from a video file into logic

I have a video thats in the .WMV format and i want to extract certain bits of audio from it, how can i do this within Logic Pro 7.

A quick google search on "convert WMF to quicktime" came up with this program: http://www.programurl.com/software/quicktime.htm
Never used it, but it might be what your looking for?
BTW, did you try just exporting the audio in WMP? Is that possible? I obviously dont use it You may also try to drag the file into logic and see what happens. Though I doubt it will work, its worth a try.

  • Elements 9.03 with Windows XP - Only Audio Portion of Video Files Playing Back

I'm using Elements 9.03 with Windows XP. When I download videos from my Sony HandyCam, the video portion of the file does not play back, only audio. Is there a setting I can adjust or do I need to use a more recent version of Windows?

The video format may not be supported e.g. if AVCHD
If you ever consider upgrading your computer and software, you will get maximum benefit from the combo. Photoshop Elements + Premiere Elements. As well as being the best value for money, it supports all the modern formats and allows the burning of HD DVD’s and many other options, not possible in PSE alone.
