No audio in Win 7 K9N4 SLI (MS-7325) with latest Realtek driver

I am running an K9N4 SLI (MS-7325) motherboard and cannot get sound to play in Windows 7 or Ubuntu 11.10. In Win 7, my driver is: 6.0.1.6305
Windows says there are no conflicts and everything is fine but I don't hear anything out of my headphone. Any ideas or direction? Thanks!

Thanks for the replies... I have not tried reverting to an older driver since the only drivers available on the official website are only for Windows 2000 and older. According to the current driver, I have it in the Line Out jack on the back... I do not have any jacks in the front for line out audio.

  • RAM for K9N4 SLI (MS-7325)

I already had two gigs (1x2) of RAM installed on my computer.  So today, I went out and bought two more gigs (1x2) of Corsair DDR2 PC6400 (800MHz) RAM.  I had to have one of the people at Tiger Direct help me decide which to buy (I didn't know exactly which to grab...), and that's what he said I could use.  Well, I installed the memory (thus totaling to 4 gigs), but when I checked Vista's system information, I still only had exactly 2 gigs installed.  Did I do something wrong, or is my memory just incompatible?  If it doesn't work, what should I do to boost my system up to 4 gigs?  I really appreciate the help!

    Read >>Posting Guide<< {We need full details about your system}
"Well, I installed the memory (thus totaling to 4 gigs), but when I checked Vista's system information, I still only had exactly 2 gigs installed. "
Double check that all memory sticks are filled well into DIMM slots.
Check how much are detected during BIOS post. Also:
Get and run CPU-Z{ http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpuz_145.zip } and check the installed memory.

  • 5.1 Audio channels periodically reverse - X-fi in Vista latest Creative Driv

    Hiya,
I have a 5. sound setup, and periodically the sound channels flip. The front channels get set to the middle channel, middle channel to the back, and back to the front. This happens seemingly randomly, but I notice it happen mostly while gaming and listening to music. It'll just switch, and sometimes it even switches back on it's own. But usually I need to switch modes to entertainment then back to gaming to get it to 'reset' and have the channels set correctly.
Is this a common issue? Know fixes/workarounds?

I've noticed some weird sound channel issues while listening to Music, using CMSS-3D (Surround). Haven't seen it while gaming, though.

  • K9N4 SLI: Support of 3 GB in dual channel

    Hello,
    This is a great forum
I've a MSI K9N4 SLI (MSI 7325), AMD Athlon 64 x2 3600+ oced to 4000+ and two stick of one gb of ram.
Each module is inserted in different channels.
I want to add a new module of 1 gb ram, so my system will have 3 GB in total. So my question is: If I add a new module, will the memory work in single or dual channel? If yes or not, will at least work in single channel?
My system score 4,9 as processor and 5,9 memory. I'm using Vista x64 and all works good but I need a little more speed.
    Thanks!

If even can works will be in single.
Use 1,2 or 4 memory modules.
For best performance and troubles free use 2x matched memory sticks only.

  • K9N4 SLI Vista Drivers

I was recently... Uh.. Well I guesse the word would be "Forced" to upgrade my Pc to Vista after my old operating System (Windows XP ME 2002 edition) was no longer supported by Microsoft and the zune software.  Basically It bricked my original Zune.  Now I have Vista and it isn't too horrible.  Except the only problem I have is I cant get my USB ports to register anything.  My Keyboard and Mouse work, they both have their own drivers.  But I cannot get my PC to register my USB Keys, Webcams, or the zune itself.  Maybe I missed something on the main site but I can't find the correct drivers for the main board it seems.
I appologize If I am missing something on the forums or the webpages already posted.  Thanks in advance for your help!
Edit: Sorry I missed some data ^.^ The board I have is the K9N4-SLI Model MS-7325. Chipset nForce4, Southbridge nForce4.

You don't need drivers for usb ports.
But you do need drivers for devices.
Those are typical drivers from the manufacturers of the USB devices, like your webcam.
Has nothing to do with your board.

Yes, This is a New Build, though Windows XP is already on the Hard Drive From a Previous Build. I Had a K8N Neo Platinum Motherboard with ATHLON64 3400. MB caught the hiccups and I changed everything out. So My Hard Drives have to be reloaded but not wiped??
Yes, that is necessary. Also leave only one HDD temporary where you planing to install your OS, when installation is done then attach your other HDD(s).
"So My Hard Drives have to be reloaded but not wiped?"
No need to be wiped, only Windows re-installation.

  • No audio in firefox, works fine in IE & Chrome. Have Dell E6500 running Win 7 Pro 64 bit. every thing works with native windows driver but with not IDT driver

I have no Audio in Firefox. I think this is an old problem with Dell IDT driver and Firefox. Flash is installed, I have uninstalled and re-installed two or three times, removed pluggins and put them back to no avail. The native win 7 driver from 2010 works okay in all browsers including firefox but I would like an up-to-date driver that works. The latest IDT driver for my Dell e6500 running Win 7 pro works great in IE and Chrome but not Firefox.

I don't think there was any setting I could change on the driver. Firefox did not show up in the mixer or volume control. It is there with the native win 7 driver. This driver doesn't seem to see Firefox. I just got this computer, but looking for help, posts three years ago on the web seemed to have this problem with the Dell e6500 and Firefox.

  • Looking for some more voltage love K9N4-SLI

Maybe one of you fine folks can help a brother out on a bios.  I have the 1.51 bios for my K9N4 SLI-F board, and the one thing that's holding me back is a little more voltage out of my ram, and possibly a smidge on the north bridge.  Is it possible to modify the bios so I can up the ram voltage?  I'm running a 5000+ BE and I have plenty of cooling to keep the rig cool.  I'm using 2x2gig sticks of GSKill pc6400  F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ and a little more voltage would probably go a long way.  Thanks in advance.

Again, this board is invaluable. You got me from 3000 to 3150, and I can probably keep going.  Raised my ram to 2, northbridge and processor up .5.  Running VERY cool, running VERY stable, thanks!
    Nice

  • K9n4 sli wont boot into bios

this is a new build my specs are
    motherboard           k9n4 sli
    cpu                     amd anthlon 64 x2 4600
    ram                     ocz 6400 dual channel 2x 2gig
power supply         ocz game extreme 700
    video card              evga 8800gts
hard drive               wd 500 gig sata
    heat sink                ocz vendetta
so like the title says I can not get into the bios, I get a very loud single beep, now the best way I can describe the beep is as an angry beep.  Sounds stupid I know.  Now when I look up the beep it seems that it could be a memory or cpu, the cpu beep is described as high/low siren, I don't really get that, but it is higher pitched then a normal beep.  I have tried moveing the ram around and only putting one stick in.  I have tried to clear the bios.  It seems that something is not working right or incompatable.  my money is on the ram, cpu,or motherboard.  The sad thing is I cant really switch out any of those things.   I have the feeling that it might be the cpu,but would like some feedback before I  rma anything.
any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

not sure by which one do you mean
    amd athlon 64 x2 4600 socket am2
probably the first thing to get upgraded but should be compatable or am i missing something
There are several models "amd athlon 64 x2 4600 socket am2".
    http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=prodcpusupport&prod_no=1087&maincat_no=1#menu
Also i've asked to double check that you have 4600+ {and not 6400+, because 6400+ is not supported}.
    Have you plugged CPU FAN in CPU-FAN connector to the mainboard? {Not in SYSFAN}

  • K9N4 SLI and Phenom

    Hello,
I searched the forum to see if my K9N4 SLI (nForce 500 SLI) will support Phenom? Officially MSI says not.
If not, will the future AM2+ processors compatible? For example Athlon with Rana core or Phenom 9900?
    K9N4 SLI had 4 or 8M?
    Thanks!

  • K9N4-SLI video question

I'm real close to buying the MSI K9n4-SLI-F MB. I dl'ed the manual and it seams to say that the PCIE 16x slots are only supported at 8X speed. I understand if that is true while in SLI, but is the 1st slot running at 16x with one vid card?
    Thanks

Happy to help.     It should make a nice Christmas gift for him.

  • Pulse Audio and Wine Volume Levels

I have just installed Pulse Audio and I am having problems with Wine audio levels changing depending on other software. If I run a Wine program on its own it will play audio but will not appear in the Pulse Volume Control. If I then open a Linux application such as Firefox and play audio, the Wine program's audio will set itself to the lowest volume track present. For example if only Firefox is running it will follow Firefox's volume dial.
In other words, Wine doesn't have its own PulseAudio volume dial, it will 'latch onto' any other track present.
    $ pacman -Q | grep pulse
    lib32-libpulse 5.0-1
    libcanberra-pulse 0.30-4
    libpulse 5.0-1
    pulseaudio 5.0-1
    pulseaudio-alsa 2-2
Has anyone heard of this happening before? Any suggestions on how to fix it?
    EDIT:
Apologies this should be in the multimedia section
    EDIT:
I have finally solved this problem by configuring Pulseaudio to use flat volumes as explained here, (the actual problem is outlined in the section after).
