No audio on third party dock

I have an iPhone 4 previously running ios5.
I have 2 third party dock devices.
A Logitech alarm clock and DM port on a Sony Home cinema system.
Both have been working fine then the other day they stopped out putting audio.
It's not the devices as I have checked with my wife's phone and that works fine. The devices still charge my phone there is just no sound.
Here is what I have tried.
1. I've checked the port on the phone for lint, dust etc and it's clear.
2. I tried using an AV cable and played video and music through the TV no problem.
3. I have restored the phone and am now running ios5.1 but this did not work.
4. I have reset the Logitech device but still nothing.
It must be a software issue as it synch, charges and plays using a cable so there can't be damage to the connector pins.  It has worked flawlessly on the other devices until a couple of days ago.
I'm now at a loss. I can't think of anything else I can do.
Anyone have any ideas?

I solved the problem. I must have switched from Mute to Lock Rotation while playing an app so it freaked out the iPad, all I had to do was switch back turn it on and off and it worked!

  • Used a third party dock and now phone won't charge!!!

I had my phone plugged into a third party dock to charge while I slept last night.  I have been doing this since I have had my phone.  When I woke up this morning there was a message saying this accesory is not optimized for iphone.  Now I can't get my phone to charge, even with my apple usb cable in my computer.  I have tried a hard reset and nothing changes.  Any suggestions, I am completely lost?

Try cleaning your dock connector...use compressed air & a soft toothbrush...look closely...any bent pins?

  • IPhone 4 with Otterbox Commuter Case...Do any third party docks work???

Hello, I have a Otterbox Commuter on my iPhone 4. Does anyone know of any docks that will allow me to charge my iPhone with its case on? I appreciate any advice!!

Yes, the ZOOM mic works on the new macbook AIR, ...I have lots of mics, Ive used its jack to plug in. MOST of the sony external mics plug in NOT thru the mic jack, but via USB.
The PRO mics, most, plug in via USB, not the headphone/mic jack.
SONY ICD-SX712 is a great choice (best "cheap" mic ive found)

  • Third party docking station speaker creating battery problems

Has anyone heard of the altec lansing dock causing significant battery life depletion? I kept mine docked for over a month and now my charge will not hold if not used for a day or two(it will be dead) and when I do undock and use it...my battery life is under 2 hours...

We opened a Cisco TAC case for this issue. It was solved by creating the username with the user id the same as the directory number.
Directly from the mail from the TAC engineer:
    Resolution summary:
    Checked the config
    Added digest user under phone
Created new user with user ID same as DN on line
Polycom was able to register after the change.
Tom changed digit map configuration on polycom for dialling issues.

  • IPod Classic Compatibility With Third-Party Sound Dock

I own a TEAC Micro HI-FI CD-X10i and I was wondering if it would work with an iPod classic 160GB. I was considering purchasing an iPod classic (I already own a 5.5 G 80GB iPod). Has anybody tried using third-party audio systems with docks? If you have, please respond.

    Hey Funky,
I have a Bose SoundDock (from 2005) and my Classic-160 works like a charm with it. It also works fine with my Altec-Lansing inMotion portable speaker unit.

  • Can't find my third party plug-ins in the Audio Effect slot

I've moved my downloaded plug-ins into Macintosh HD > Library > Audio > Plug-ins, and in a new Finder Window dragged the VST file and Component file into it's respective Logic Pro X files folder(s). I still don't see them in the Audio Units slot for third party plug-ins. Can anyone help me troubleshoot? I'd much appreciate! Thanks.
    -Victor

Which plugin are you trying to use?
Is it a 64bit AU Plugin?
If it isn't then LPX cannot use it....
If it is.... Does it show up in the AU Manager as validated?
(LPX menu bar..... Logic Pro X > Preferences > Audio Units Manager)

  • Installing Third Party Audio Units

Wonder if anybody can help. I have just bought a G5 Dual 2.3 and Logic Pro 7.1 I can not find any way of "installing" third party plug ins. I have checked the ones I have ( Waves Platinum for AU for OSX ) and they are valid for Logic 7. I have put several plugs in Applications , but they are not even appearing in Logic Audio Units Manager. Im probably missing something really simpe here. Im also having the same type of problem trying out "demo" versions of some new AU instruments e.g. X treme FX and MOTU MX4 Soft Synth ( that is appearing in Audio Unit Manager but will not open, so maybe its not valid for Logic yet?) Pleeeeeeease Help. Thanks. Paul

    Hey Paul & Welcome!
I don't quite understand what you mean when you say you can not find a way of "installing".
You should have installers for your AU's. If you doubleclick one of those, it should take you through the installation process. Apologies if this is what you have done, but I become a little suspicious when you say you have "put several plugs in your Applications folder". This is sometimes the right procedure when it comes to installing certain applications (e.g. Reason), but rarely or never the case with plug ins. You need an installer.
Now, If indeed you have gone through the installation process, it is still possible that the plug in question won't show up as available. As you rightly point out, it may be rejected by Logics AU Manager.
    Check in your following folders:
    HD/Library/Audio/Plug Ins/Components
    and,
    Home/Library/Audio/Plug Ins/Components
wich is were your AU's are supposed to be located.
If they are not there, they are not installed. If they are there, they should be scanned by AU Manager and be validated or refuted.
When you have checked the folders, you can open Logic and run AU Manager and check the status of your installed AU's. The ones that have failed or crashed can still be selected by checking the little box, with the risk of making Logic unstable. You will indeed get a warning every time you open logic, telling you how many failed AU's you're currently running.
So, check for installers, check your component folders and cross reference with the AU manager.
Again, sorry if this is at a beginner level for you, I could not quite make out where you're at.
    Good Luck!
    Erik

  • Third party audio gap fill in

Izotope has released a very excellent looking piece of software: Izotope Rx Complete Audio Restoration. The main feature that got my attention in this software is the ability to fill in missing gaps of audio. As they put it on their site: "remove intermittent noises, corrupted intervals and gaps with Spectral Repair re-synthesis"
    http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/RX/
I am a diehard audition user and the only feature that this software from Izotope has that audition doesn't is the above mentioned. This software is about $350.00 and for the advanced version $1199.00 USA. I don't want to pay that much for only one feature that interests me.
I was wondering if anybody knows of some third party plugin that could get similar results. I am willing to pay as long as it is not $350.00 like the Izotope software!
I work with a lot of old files that are filled with gaps. This feature would be very helpful to me.
    Thank you!

ryclark, yes, if I remember correctly, I used mix-paste with a very short crossfade setting in the mix-paste settings.
And I tried several other approaches, even with multitrack view, what follows is probably pretty over-the-top. :)
I once had a drop-out in the chorus of a song that wasn't just a gap, but the audio after the gap was shifted in time. So much that it was noticeable if the gap was just filled.
So I split the track at the drop-out.
Then put those 2 parts in channel 1 in multi-track view.
Then took about 5 seconds of the same section of another chorus and put it in track 2.
With this as a guide I could move part 2 of track 1 to the right place in time.
Then I deleted everything in track 2 but the necessary audio to fill the gap and finally moved this audio fragment up to track 1, so Audition 3 crossfaded them and then I made a mix-down.
SteveG, do you mean to not fix the whole gap at once but with different selections in the frequency range?
I personally didn't regret that I got Izotope RX, even with it's high price as for me it really was what I was looking for.
Btw, sorry if my writing sounds strange, english isn't my native tongue.

  • Third party MIDI/Audio driver conflict message!@#@!#@

I'm getting the "Logic Pro has detected a possible conflict between one or more third party MIDI or audio drivers" message.
    I'm running a G5 dual 2 gig, OSX 10.4.8, Logic Pro 7.2.3, Emagic AMT8 and RME DSP9652.
When I start Logic, it hangs on "checking MIDI drivers" forever, then gives me the conflict message 4 or 5 times, then tells me MIDI services won't be available.
I have not changed ANYTHING... it's worked fine forever. I removed the EmagicUSBMIDIDriver.plugin from the MIDI drivers folder, tried it with nothing in the folder, and same thing (I had a Yamaha MIDI driver and one from the RME, but I dumped them. It's worked fine with the additional drivers for a long time, so I doubt that's the problem). I reloaded the EmagicUSBMIDIDriver.plugin from the 7.2 installer DVD, same thing.
Someone mentioned this problem was caused by too many devices drawing current on the USB bus, but I only have a mouse/keyboard, printer, XS Key, and a iLok for Waves on the the USB bus.
    HELP!
    Mitchell

I have looked in Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers and there is just one file called EmagicUSBMIDIDriver.plugin - can this be causing the problem?
    Nothing on User/YourName/Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers.
I have found 3 AVID folders on Applications:
    - Avid MetaSync Manager
    - Avid MetaSync Publisher
    - Avid_Uninstallers
    Shall I remove these?
There is also an empty folder called Digidesign on User/Library/Audio/Plugins
I have tried it with the M-Audio card connected and selected in Logic, and it doesn't work.

  • Looking for OSX (1) or Third Party (2) Solution to tag Audio Files

    Hey all,
I'm new here. I've signed up, because I'm looking for a way to Tag Audio Files. I've been doing Audio Diary over the years. Now instead of converting the Audio to Text, I'm looking for a way to identify Audio entries by adding Tags to them. I'm a little reluctant to use third party. you never now how long they survive. and tagging the files will be quite some work.
so my question to you is: 1) Is there a way to tag and locate audio Files using the OS X (primary) or third Party (secondary?)
    thx
    Jazz
ps: I know you can use the Command-I to add Spotlight Comments, but I've had some Issues that Spotlight sometimes does not locate the Files by the added Comment. further on I read about these problems in several Forums too.

Hey Jazz. you can start by locating the files by doing a Find search - NOT Spotlight - and using the filetype. That will locate all the .mp3 or .ogg or whatever filetype they are and round them up for you.
Once you do that, and you know how to quickly find them all, you can then get a script to batch process those files. You can use the Automator application to do that, so your next best bet would be to start dabbling with it, and see if there's any scripts available. (Im SURE there are.. there has to be..)
I think you'll have success on the OSX Technologies threads.. the Automator and scripting stuff is there.

  • Third Party VST audio plugins  - stereo, multichannel

    Hello,
I am developing VST audio plugins. I have the trial version of Adobe Audition CS5 on Mac OSX and as I started to realize this version of Audition doesn't support 64-bit VST plugins, is this correct? or is there something I should do for Audition to scan and load my 64-bit plugin?
Another question I have is well I just made a 32-bit version of my plugin for Audition to find it and it works fine when its a stereo 2 input 2 output plugin.
But I have a plugin that is 2 input 4 output and although making it 32-bits Audition will scan and find it, It will always be disabled in the plugin list and I can't find a way to enable the plugin.
I would like to know if its possible to have a plugin that has more than 2 outputs and what do I have to do to enable it since the standard way won't do it (although the plugin is found). And also what is the deal with 64 bit plugins and Audition CS5.
Any information would be highly appreciated!
    Thanks you very much.
    Sergio.

This release of Audition is 32-bit only and thus only supports 32-bit VST plug-ins.  You may wish to try your 64-bit VST in Premiere Pro as it is a 64-bit app that also supports third-party VSTs

You can have plug-ins with more than 2 outputs, however, we don't support plug-ins with asymmetrical channel configurations.  There's a lot of details that need to be attended to in order to get that to be bulletproof.   So if you had something that was 6 in and 6 out, that should be possible in this version of Audition.

  • Third party Audio plugins don't work here

I'm wondering if someone is able to use third party Audio plugins (like Waves, Sonnox, Sonalksis, etc.) in FCPX. I can't. I have them for Logic and I can see them in FCPX, but if I try to use them I encounter various issues (settings not saved, FCPX crashes, and so on...).
    Only Logic plugs work fine

There are NUMEROUS of issues with third pty AU's in FCPx. I have reported many of them. Settings not getting stored, crashes etc etc etc...
Plugs that work perfectly in Logic Pro....
AU integration in FCPx is highly erratic. Unfortunately.
You also wanna be VERY careful when using .CAF files in FCPx which have more than two channels of audio. Distortion etc... are bound to happen unless you take appropriate measures and disable channels not pertaining to stereo.

  • No Audio on some third party apps?

I just recently bought my iPad 2. I loaded most of my apps, music, movies onto the device as you would with any new toy. But now some third party apps do not have audio. I tried Angry Birds RIO HD, Angry Birds, etc. nothing. When I use Garageband and iMovie the speaker and headphones work fine. Any one have suggestions?

I solved the problem. I must have switched from Mute to Lock Rotation while playing an app so it freaked out the iPad, all I had to do was switch back turn it on and off and it worked!

  • No sound when playing music through dock with third party apps

    Hello,
When I try to play music on my Iphone (3G, OS 3) through dock connected external speaker devices (like the B&W Zeppelin) using third party apps, i get no sound at all. Example of external third party apps are : wifi radios, alarm-clock programs, video viewers,...
So i get no sound at all through the dock connector using that kind of apps. Sound is ok only with Ipod, Itune (or other apple apps).
Has anyone encountered similar problems ? Any solution would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks.

I have done that from the first day (contacting the makers of 3rd party apps)- They say they use standard components provided by Apple. So I would like to know if anybody has succeded in listening, for example, any internet radio app though a dock station connection (zeppelin, or whatever speaker system that is not using the jack), or is this functionnaly actually blocked by Apple.
    Thanks for your answers.

  • MainStage message: possible conflict with third party midi or audio drivers

Just when I thought everything was going to be ok...
MainStage gives me a message that it detects a possible conflict with third party audio or midi drivers. The only midi device I'm using is class compliant (doesn't need a driver). My audio interface is an Apogee Duet and I'm using the most recent driver. Logic registers no such complaint. MainStage freezes. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hello.
I am seeing this whenever MIDI events are being sent into either Logic or MainStage (primarily MainStage), while they are launching. On my setup, this will either crash the application during launch, ( sent to Apple ) or trigger this "...3rd party conflict / driver..." dialog.
In either instance, disabling incoming MIDI messages by turning them off on all connected MIDI devices, or as suggested, waiting to connect the device in question until, the application is fully launched, fixes my version of this issue.
** Please Note: In my experience, increasing the number incoming MIDI messages, exacerbates the issue and, makes a dialog or crash more likely to occur.
    Hope this is helpful.
