No Audio on Webcam

When I try to record a video using my webcam, there is no sound. I reinstall the Realtek Audio Driver, but it did not work. I don't know what to do. What are my other options? My model is a Satelitte A205-S5879 and  I am using Windows Vista Home Premium. The webcam is bult-in and its name is Camera Assistant Software.

I have the same problem also & have not found a solution. I also show a hardware buss that has no signiture so I can not install a driver. I think that may be part of my problem??

  • Audio and Webcam issue

    Recently, my HP ENVY dv6-7210us Notebook PC has stopped being able to play any sound from anything. The issue includes several programs being unable to run audio files due to this, rather than just playing the file and no audio coming out. Additionaly, I find out a few days later that my built in webcam also is unable to work, although a USB webcam may still work if plugged in. I am close to assuming this may be a hardware issue rather than software, but I am making sure all my bases are covered.

    Hi @InsanitySpiral
    Welcome to the HP Support Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
    I see that you are having some audio and webcam problems. I will be happy to help you with this. Are you using Windows 8 or 8.1? For the webcam problems try this HP document Webcam Troubleshooting.
    For the audio issue do you get any sound if you plug in a set of headphones?  I have included a number of troubleshooting steps below and a couple of documents as well.  There was an issue with a Windows Update that was causing sound problems about a month and half ago.  I don't imagine that is the issue at this point but if nothing else works there is a workaround for the Windows Update below.
    The first thing to try is this HP support document No Sound from Speakers. It has a number of good troubleshooting steps including using the built-in Windows troubleshooter.
    Another solution is to uninstall the driver manually then force Windows to reinstall it. Follow the steps below to do that.
    Step 1: Open Device Manager and open Sound, video and game controller section.
    Step 2: Right click on your audio driver and select Uninstall.
    Step 3: Restart the computer. Windows will then force in the driver on startup.
    The last troubleshooting step is to try creating a new user account to see if the issue is only affecting the one account. This can happen is something has been corrupted in the one user profile. This HP support document Managing User Accounts and Logins look under the section Creating a new account in Windows 8.
    Here is the workaround for the Windows Update:
    At this point, unless you want to reinstall the operating system, the only other option is to tackle the update, KB2962407.
    Uninstalling the Windows Update, then hiding it, is the only method of eliminating the issue if it caused by this update. Here is the procedure for uninstalling the update:
    Step 1. Go into Control Panel, then click on “Programs and Features”.
    Step 2. Click on “View Installed Updates”. Look for the update with the ID number KB2962407.
    Step 3. Right-click on the update and select “Uninstall”. Restart the computer.
    Next, here is the procedure for hiding the update:
    Step 1. Go into Control Panel, then click on “Windows Updates”.
    Step 2. Click on “Check for Updates”. When the process is completed, is should find important update(s) available. Clicking on the message will open a window where the important update(s) is.
    Step 3. Right-click on the KB2962407 update and select “Hide Update”. This will prevent the update from being installed next time Windows Updates are being installed.

  • DV9910US Audio and webcam not working.

    Hello, I have worked for over a month on trying to restore a HP DV9910us. I even ordered the recovery CD from HP.  I can not get the audio working or the webcam working. I have done extensive research online and tried every solution I found. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

    Hello robc1042.  I understand you're having some issues getting your audio and webcam to work.
    You said that you've tried numerous solutions.  Would you mind giving a quick list of the sorts of solutions you have tried?  This will be helpful as I wouldn't want to suggest solutions you've already attempted.
    You may even want to take a look at this thread.  I posted this a little while back but it covers the solutions for a webcam not being detected.  You may find it helpful.
    To begin I would like to see if either the webcam or sound card is listed in Device Manager.  Try the following.
    Click Start, type "Device Manager," and press Enter.
    Expand the "Imaging Devices," "Sound, video, and game controllers," and "Other Devices" sections.
    List what you see.
    I will await your reply.  I hope you have a great day!

    I understand that you updated your system to Windows 7 ultimate sp1.  If HP has not tested an operating system on a model  of computer, they do not post drivers.  With that being said, I will be happy to look for some updated drivers for you.
    Would you provide me the hardware Id for the audio and the network.

  • Configure audio output as an input?

    I'm sure the subject was unclear so I will try to clarify:
    I want to use the sound output of my Mac as an input so that I can play my computer's audio through webcam software without the use of a microphone. I want to know if this is possible using only software, without using any external audio hardware to accomplish it?

    Hi
    if I understand you correctly - is http://cycling74.com/products/soundflower/ the sort of thing you need?

    Graphics Card - EVGA GeForce GTX 660
    PCI - USB 3.0 - PCI Card
    Storage - Added intel 520 series SSD 180GB. Recovered entire system onto it and formatted 1.5TB HDD for storage.

    I have tried installing SP59424 from HP support but it will not install.
    After extracting files and asking if i want to install the driver it reads "IDT High Definition Driver" - "Your system does not meet the minimum requirements for this update. Update has been cancelled. (9996)
     I have tried downloading the codec/driver at plenty of other sites with no luck, i even tried rolling back to windows 7 and installing the win7 original driver, same problem. All this time of course running as an administrator. I have also COMPLETELY formatted all my drives, restored using my HP restore discs from last year and still no audio. I did also try uninstalling all audio devices, (webcam/usb headset/graphics card) i put my old DVI-only graphics card in and still no luck.
     I read in the motherboard spec that if a sound card is installed the onboard is disabled. So i rid of all possible audio except the onboard. Last but not least I also updated the BIOS to the most recent, (listed under windows 7 x64 support) the BIOS has NO option for integrated audio. It is supposed to be under advanced but it is not anywhere in the BIOS.

    Hello soriano7709.  I understand you're unable to get your sound card to install.
    Has the sound card ever worked?  How long have you had this PC?
    Did this computer originally have Windows 8 installed?
    Have you tried running HP Support Assistant to see if it is able to install your driver?  If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed you'll need to install the HP Software Framework as well as HP Support Assistant.
    I'd also like you to verify that the device is being detected by your computer by providing me the Hardware IDs for the device.  Try the following.
    From either the Metro or Desktop views press the Windows+X key combination.  This opens the "Context Menu."
    Select "Device Manager."
    Expand every section.  Look for any devices that are named "Unknown" or "Other."  You should also look for any devices which have a yellow exclamation point beside them.  If your sound card is listed in the "Sound, video, and game controllers" section then select it specifically.
    Right click on the device and select "Properties."
    Navigate to the "Details" tab.
    Select "Hardware Ids" from the drop-down menu.
    Post these here.
    I'll keep an eye out for your response.  I hope you have a great day!

  • Solution for Multi Cam Crashes on Audio Sync?

    I am having major issues when trying to create a multi-cam clip by syncing audio. It will process a few clips and then I will get a serious error message. I would say it occurs on about 8 of every 10 attempts. At first I thought it was because I was selecting too many clips (I'm shooting a doc and sometimes need to sync 100 plus clips from multiple cameras to multiple audio tracks) But it also crashes when I try to sync a single audio track to only a handful of clips.
    I'm on an I-Mac mid 2011. I've updated the OS to Yosemite, no luck. Tech support said to upgrade my RAM to 16g, I did that and it still crashes. I've re-installed the software, still crashes. Reset the preferences, still crashes. I've installed the software on a new administrator account, still crashes. I've changed the renderer to software only, still crashes.
    I also have a Macbook Pro Retina 2013 running OS 10.8. I've tried creating multi-cams by syncing audio on that computer as well. Still getting crashes. I've tried all the changes on the lap top that I did on the I-Mac (change renderer, re-install, new administrator, reset preferences, etc) Still getting crashes.
    I've tried different projects, different footage, different drives, placing the media on the internal hard drives. Still crashes.
    I'm assuming there must be a conflict of some sort, but can't figure it out. Tech Support has been less than helpful (when I can reach them) and I'm hoping someone knows a solution. I just moved to Premiere Pro and this issue might make it a non-starter for me.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Update: I just happened happened to have a pair of ath m50s lying around.... put them on and I can see that in the multi cam sequence, I can hear only out of the left ear... once I drag and drop something to my timeline the audio's good again...
    Sorry for this question... operator???
    I shoot tech videos on YouTube and I edit my own videos, so I guess I am the operator & observer here...
    Am shooting a tutorial...
    Cam 1 - My Camcorder that shoots the phone
    Cam 2 - Actually a screen recorder that records the steps on screen & audio from webcam
    Audio - Blue Spark Digital recording to audacity
    Now if I merge Cam 1 & Audio or Cam 2 & Audio alls fine... I can check the audio meters and everythings the same as before
    But if I create a multicamera sequence then the audio output is about 20% lower (and no Premiere's not using the audio source from Cam1 or 2 here since they are too low and am 100% sure its not either of those)
    I guess am messing up something but am unable to identify what..
    Syncronize Point - Audio
    Track Channel - 1
    Sequence Preset - Automatic
    Audio Sequence Settings - Camera 1
    Audio Channels Preset - Automatic (or Mono since my Blue Spark records in mono)
    Camera Names - Enumerate Cameras
    Any Idea where am messing up?

  • Using Audio Sync for Multi-Cam Edits Premiere Pro CC

    Hello everyone - I wanted to share some issues I've come across while using Audio to sync multiple camera angles....
    For my music video shoot I have two cameras and an external recorder where I capture the audio and then edit in GarageBand or Adobe Audition. The problem I've discovered is that when I sync the clips using audio it will degrade the quality of my finalized audio clip.
    Basically, something is happening to the audio clip quality once Premiere completed the synchronization process. I've rendered the video, exported the video etc... But there is still audio quality degradation.
    I've compared this with Final Cut Pro X and the Audio in FCP X remains unchanged and is not altered in any way.
    Has anyone else experienced this issue?

  • Skype Audio Problems Trouble Shooting

    Thank you for your suggestions. I apparently have an unusual problem. I hear the normal sound when skype come on. I also checked speakers and the volumn meter responded. I went to sounds and the sounds played. However, when I tried a test call I could hear nothing. Any other suggestions??Al

     Below are some suggestions to check and fix possible audio related problems.  Just try whichever are applicable or you haven’t tried yet.  1.    Double-check if your microphone/s and speaker/s are properly plugged-in, active, or turned on.  Be sure that they are also not muted.  You can also test them using other applications to make sure that they are working and not defective. 2.        Download and install the most recent version of Skype.  Issues, bugs, problems, and irregularities in older versions are often fixed or solved in the latest Skype version. 3.       Update your audio/microphone/webcam drivers.  You can use the Update Device Drivers function of your operating system, or visit the corresponding manufacturers’ site to check if there are new versions of drivers for your devices.   4.  Download and Install remaining updates for your Operating System. 5.       Click Tools >> Options >> General Audio Settings. If the other party can’t hear you Under Microphone, select the preferred microphone device that you want to use (there could be one or more options available when you click the dropdown selection arrow).  Check if the Volume Meter will respond when you make sounds.   You can also try to uncheck Automatically Adjust Microphone Settings and manually Adjust the volume to 80%-90% full. If you can’t hear the other party Under Speakers, select the preferred speaker/headphone device that you want to use (there could be one or more options available when you click the dropdown selection arrow).   To test you speaker/headphone, click the check speakers option (green play icon) and check if the Volume Meter will also respond. You can also try to uncheck Automatically Adjust Speakers Settings and manually Adjust the volume to 80%-90% full.
       You can also click the Show Advanced Options to change the order of preference of the available microphone and speaker devices in your computer.   For example;  you place your external microphone on the top of the list, followed by your internal microphone.  Skype will first look for your external mic, and will only use the internal mic of the external mic is not available or not plugged-in. 6.   Call echo123,  the Skype sound testing service to check if your mic and speakers are working.  If both are working, you should be able to hear the automated voice and the recording of your own voice.   Useful Links; 1. Skype sound set up guide 2. • A/V Transmission: Can't send Audio

    Hello everybody,
    I've got a client-server application that first sends video and audio to a server. After that the server sends the incoming streams to a receiver-client.
    Sending audio and video to server works fine - the server gets both video and audio, but only sends out the video stream (I can see that with using windump).
    So here is what I'm doing in detail (have a look here: diagram ):
    (1) Grab the video and audio DataSource (Webcam and Mic).
    (2) After that I'm creating a mergedDataSource in order to (3) create a ProcessorModel (I don't want the sender client to install JMF, so I'm using FMJ - there might be different ways to prepare the DataSources for RTP streaming in FMJ, but this one works). For transmission I have two RTPManagers (for that I wrote a special class, that administrates those two managers - nothing special): first one sends video, second one sends audio to the server. They're initialized with port (video) and port+2 (audio), so there shouldn't be any port problems.
    I invoke methods for sending on each manager, both get the same DataSource. Have a look:
          * audio transmission
              public void sendVideoStreamToReceiver(DataSource newStream) {
              SendStream outStream=null;
              try {
                   System.out.println("Videosenden");
                   outStream = this.videoMgr.createSendStream(newStream,0);
                   outStream.start();
              } catch (Exception e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
          * audio transmission
         public void sendAudioStreamToReceiver(DataSource newStream) {
              SendStream outStream=null;
              try {
                   System.out.println("Audio senden");
                   outStream = this.audioMgr.createSendStream(newStream,1);
                   outStream.start();
              } catch (Exception e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
         } In both ways I'm creating a SendStream out of the same DataSource, but on different channels (should have two channels at that point).
    after that I start the processor:
    sendMgrs = new ManagerPair(port);
              sendMgrs.addReceiveParticipant(serverAddress,port);
              sendMgrs.sendVideoStreamToReceiver(dsVideoOutput);
              sendMgrs.sendAudioStreamToReceiver(dsAudioOutput);
              processor.start();(4) The server has two RTPManagers for receiving audio and video and two more for sending audio and video. So I get two NewReceiveStreamEvents.
    I keep both incoming streams in seperate DataSources this time and send them nearly the same way I did on sender client side - the only difference is that I invoke the sendVideoStreamToReceiver/sendAudioStreamToReceiver not with a mergedDataSource as parameter but with single DataSources.
    Because of that I create the SendStreams with channel 0 both times (5). After that the transmission of should begin, but with using windump I can see, that only video is sent further.
    So my questions are:
    1) Does the channel-thing work the way I thing it works?
    2) Why is only one of the incoming streams sent out by the server?
    Thanks in advance,
    Chris

    I have no idea what you're talking about, channels... but the number you're passing into your createSendStream should be non-zero in every case you just described...
    If the index is set to zero, it would indicate a RTP
    mixer operation is desired. i.e. all the streams of this
    data source must be mixed into one single stream from one single
    SSRC. So your streamIndex should be 1 and then 2, not 0 and then 1. In both cases.

    Hello waydee, welcome to the HP Forums.
    I see that you have an issue with the image in Skype. That when you move it's blurry. I will try to help you with this.
    I recommend trying the following documents:
    Webcam Troubleshooting (Windows 7) - this will help you troubleshooting any issue with the webcam.
    Troubleshooting Skype Performance Problems - this will help troubleshoot if the issue is in Skype.
    Automatically diagnose and fix Skype audio and webcam issues - Microsoft's tool that may also help you.
    Try the above and let me know if the issue was corrected. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • 2 weeks ago everything was working, I lost microphone & webcam! Was able to fix sound.

    dv7-6b02tx Pavilion notebook using Windows 7 x 64 - no microphone or webcam  (purchased 07/12)
    After the latest bios update, I found I had no audio, microphone & webcam.  I tried to restore back to when I knew everything had worked properly but this did not rectify the situation.  I uninstalled the driver for the audio, restarted computer & it installed reinstalled the device & I now have playback audio.
    I have updated all the drivers available for my laptop from hp site.  In the sound -> recording devices -> it lists 'external microphone' (ready), 'integrated microphone array' & 'stereo mix' (currently unavailable).  The integrated microphone array is marked as default but no bars go green at all when trying to test this.  I have used the sound recorder found in accessories, but it does not record anything.  Skype test call does not pick up microphone or webcam.  I have checked for updates on device but it is up to date. Troubleshooting does not pick up any errors.  I have listed within the recording devices, disabled & disconnected devices & checked that everything is enabled.
    With the built in webcam - it is not listed under the device manager under imaging or other devices, etc.  I have updated the Cyberlink YouCam software as per hp website.  When I start this program, I receive the error: "No webcam detected.  Try plugging in a webcam into your computer now.  If you are using an integrated camera, make sure that it is turned on.  OK"

    I lost my webcam randomly yesterday, seemingly after a Windows update. I went on a hunch and disassembeled the casing around the screen  to find that the connection to my webcam and mic came loose. If you think yourself able (I could understand not wanting to break the casing; I almost stopped halfway through for fear of breaking everything ever), a friend and I have both had this problem now with our dv-7's, so it's worth a look. I have a link to instructions on opening the casing safely here: http://www.insidemylaptop.com/remove-lcd-screen-inverter-board-hp-pavilion-d
    Forgot to mention: I tried everything else. I updated all of my drivers, even the ones that didn't need to be, and decided against updating the BIOS because that's never solved any of my issues.
