No Audio out on MBP after Quicktime 7.1.5 update
Installed the iTunes and QuickTime updates this evening.
After restart I have Digital Out as my only sound output device, and the light in the headphone jack (aka Digital Audio Out) is lit.
Suggestions? Is there a downgrade utility for 7.1.5?
15" 2.33Ghz MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.4.8)
Well, plugged in headphones and audio worked. Unplugging headphones and internal speakers worked after that.

Audio out of sync after exporting into Quicktime using current settings.
Quicktime file has audio out of sync when I export to quicktime movie using current settings.
Ok for about the first few minutes then, out of sync after about 10 minutes.
I shot the footage on tape with my Sony HVR-Z7u.
My Sequence setting is the same as the format of the footage as shown below.
Pixel Aspect Ratio: HD 1440x1080
Editing Time base: 23.98
Quicktime video settings: Compressor: HDV 1080p24
Audio Settings: Rate 48 KHz
Depth: 16bit
Clip format:
Pixel Aspect Ratio: HD 1440x1080
Vid Rate: 23.98
Compressor: HDV 1080p24
Audio Rate 48 KHz
Audio Format: 16bitI recently moved and both of my editing machines were unplugged for a couple of days until I could get them set up. After turning them back on, the problem had disappeared. Perhaps leaving the system unplugged had allowed some of the internal components to reset? That's the only thing I can think of. At any rate, the issue is gone.

Audio out of sync after importing .MOV
Experiencing audio out-of-sync issues after importing a .mov clip into Premiere Pro.
The .mov clip causing the problem does not have a problem when played with quicktime or vlc: The audio matches the video perfectly.
Adobe Premiere Pro CC 7.2.1 (4) on OSX 10.9.1
Open Premiere, New Project ... > OK > Import the single video clip (whether by dragging into the app, or using the Media Browser). Start playing the clip in the Source monitor, scrub forward. Result: audio and video are way out of sync.
The .mov clip causing the problem was exported from Silverback app. http://silverbackapp.com/
Details about the .mov clip, via Media Inspector app:

I need to digitize some cassettes and records since they are (especially the cassettes) are getting pretty worn out, and i'm down to my last working record player.
I'm just looking for some sort of cable where I can plug the 2 audio-out wires (red and white) into one end, and the other end can connect into my MBP. I'd record the audio in Audacity.
I tried doing my own search but i'm not sure what exactly will get the job done. I see things connect through USB, through the line-in jack (I don't even know where that is).
So if someone could just simply tell me what wire (or wires) to get, that would be very helpful. Thanks.Mark,
With just the MBP and no other types of devices, this could be slightly difficult. There are RCA to single 1/8" adapters out there, but this could sacrifice some quality, and I'm not sure how picky you are about your sound. For me, I want my sound quality to be top notch, because I'm a musician and I can't stand bad quality.
I suggest this, http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ARTUSBPhonoPlus?sku=180642X
Take a look at the photos. You've got your RCA ins in the back. This little guy plugs in via USB, so you can record directly to your Audacity prog with no sound sacrifice through adapters.
Hope this helps some...

Audio out of sync after encoding
I'm hoping someone can offer a suggestion. I've encoded my sequence 4 times now and every time the audio is out of sync with the video. The sequence is about 2 hours long. It was shot on a HD flip cam, , 1280 x 720 (1.0) 30.00 fps, 44100 Hz. The sequence is HD 1280 x 720 (1.0), 29.97 fps, 48000 Hz-Stereo. They are the exact settings I've been using to make these videos for the past 5 months since upgrading to CS5, and this is the first time I'm having this issue. I usually make 30 minutes videos, this is my longest yet.
I've definitely had this happen before with cs4, but was hoping the upgrade to a better version as well as better computer would do away with these encoding issues. I dont' know what other info you may need, but I'm happy to provide more.
I'm exporting to window's media, NTSC Source Hight Quality, output 720x480, 48kHz, stereo. Everytime I export it, the video markers only cover half the sequence. I have to move them to cover the entire sequence. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.
I'm at a loss. Any suggestions would be so appreciated.
JulesThank you so much. I did have problems with Encore, but I hopefully got that resolved. This specific problem is audio out of sync in my media encoder. I can't test the project beforehand. It took 2 1/2 hours to encode and when I played the finished project, it was out of sync.

Why is Audio out of sync after encoding?
I have encoded a 60 minute film using separate video and audio files -- quicktime for picture, AIFF for audio. In the DVD Studio Pro project, they are perfectly in sync. But in the encoded DVD they are playing out of sync by over 1 second.
I've encoded the same movie with different versions of the soundtrack several times before with no problems.
Anyone have any ideas of what has happened and how to fix it?
The Quicktime and the AIFF were on different drives when I was building the project. Could this have had any effect?
Using DVD studio pro v4.0.2
Powerbook G4 Mac OS X (10.3.9)Nope, I am a strong believer if it ain't broke do not fix it, and personally I loved 10.3.9 - in fact I say away from updates unless absolutely needed and then I bring them onto different machines. Unless something changed in your system, I would try standrad troubleshooting (repair permissions and delete prefs) and A.Pack the audio
Not to say I do not have machines running Tiger, but Tiger (particularly some of the newer versions) I find to be a PITA - around 10.4.6 or so there are weird security things happening which messes up installing software. In fact I just zeroed out my tiBook, and did not add some software that I forgot about until after 10.4.8 was on and it does not install. I would have to zero things out again. Install the software over 10.4.1 and then try again.
Unless you want the Universal Suite (which is good for most things except DVD SP which has issues) nope, no Tiger none of the new stuff, unless you have a few machines to play with -
Audio out of sync AFTER importing
Hello, how are you?
I've been searching for a solution for a while, but I can't seen to find any.
The thing is... I've been capturing some gameplay footage, with files that last an hour or even more.
When I watch the files in any player (Windows Media Player, VLC, Media Player Classic) they play fine, the audio and the video seems to be on sync and OK.
But after I import to Adobe Premiere, it just gets out of sync. Even when I watch in the Source Monitor, before dragging to the timeline.
It looks like there is a problem when conforming the audio.
But even the time duration is different from the original, there is some frames or even seconds of difference inside Premiere.
And this happens with different codecs, AVI (from FRAPS), H.264 (with AAC audio and MP3)...
I've tried cleaning the cache, deleting the software and reinstalling again, converting - everything.
Some are saying this is a recurrent bug on Adobe Premiere. Isn't there any fix or something that I could do?
It's really strange that the problems only occur AFTER importing. Outside of Premiere is fine, so there is no problem with the capture, right?
I would really appreciate if someone helps me. Thanks a lot!
PS: I have Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.
Intel Core i7
12 GB RAM
GeForce GTX 580
HD 2 TB 7200RPMMy problem is a bit different, though just as irritating. I can't believe Adobe hasn't fixed this given how long since the original post has been up here. I capture satellite programming from a professional c-band satellite every week. I use good old fashion Quicktime to capture 30 minute programs for later broadcast. Our job is to capture the video from the satellite, clip the commercials at the beginning and end of the program and then export a clean version as an MPEG2 file. Quicktime provides two capture settings: high (which provides a very large ProRes file in 16bit stereo) or medium (which provides a manageable H264 file in AAC stereo). Both are Quicktime files.
While I don't have sync issues with the ProRes file, the file that is captured using H264 and the AAC stereo gets pushed out of sync by just enough frames to make it necessary to fix. This is adding about 2 to 3 hours of studio time each week to our production given we have to process about a dozen of these files. Viewing the original quicklime files using the newest version of quicklime or the old Quicktime program and most other video players yields a perfectly in-sync experience; it's just when it's imported into Premier Pro CC 2014 that the sync. problem appears. One solution that has worked is taking the master file and exporting it again as a .dv file, but this actually takes longer than fixing the sync issue within Premiere. My guess is it may be the AAC audio process that may be the problem.
We only started using Premiere a few months ago and are already re-evaluating whether we should return to FCP. We were really like most of the Adobe apps within Creative Cloud, but we use Premiere to much to put up with such a major flaw. I do wish Adobe would monitor some of these forums; they have no idea how customer service plays a key role for future software purchases. -
Audio out of sync after using h.264
Hi
After using compressor to encode an HDV sequence the audio progressivly falls out of sync as the sequence plays.
NAy ideas.
It was working
Thanks
garyAre you playing it from your internal hard-drive / usb pen / usb / firewire / esata...
What it was working? The original file? What? The encoded file?
Are you playing the encoded h.264 in your fcp (?) in quicktime (?) where?
You can´t say you´ve encoded a file and it´s not running if you don´t give us details!

Video and audio out of synch after export
Hello guys,
I have 5 minutes long video on timeline.
1 audio and 3 video layers.
All looks good, but once I export it as QuickTime self contained movie (current settings) to my desktop, video and audio is out of synch.
Any ideas what it might be wrong?
Thank you for any advise.Hi
Did You Render All - first - before Export
Did You Mixdown Audio - Render Only - last line
What material was used
• Video Codec and fps
• Audio file formats and bit-depth and frequency e.g. .aiff 48kHz 16-bit
• What kind of Project Set-Up did You use e.g. Easy Set-Up - PAL-48kHz

Audio out of sync after export!
I've exported this video I've been working on several times under different conditions, no effects, no transitions, no additional media, different formats between AVI, MPEG, H.264, I've uninstalled and re-installed premier, running as administrator. I have done everything in my known knowledge of troubleshooting to figure out why after exporting this video my audio sync is off by two seconds, nothing I've done has worked.

I'm matching the source as export other times I've not, again I've tried multiple combinations.

Audio out of sync in Quicktime on export from Premiere
Currently using Premiere Pro CS3 3.2 and Quicktime 7.5.5
When I export to a quicktime .mov, my audio is a few frames out of sync. I've tried downgrading to older versions of quicktime with no success. Everything is completely in sync inside Premiere. If I import my rendered out-of-sync .mov back into Premiere, it magically syncs up fine again. It's the weirdest thing.
I don't suffer this issue when exporting to Real Media or .wma.
My machine is an Intel Core 2 Duo 6700 2.66, 2 GB Ram. Running XP Pro 2002 Service Pack 3. Premiere Pro CS3 3.2, Quicktime 7.5.5.
I'm using .mxf files shot on the HVX-200. My source video is 1280 x 720. I'm exporting using the h.264 codec. I'm fairly certain that it isn't the footage. I tried syncing up some color mattes to music in a new short test project and I'm still 4 frames off.
I thought the problem might be the use of mp3's but I replaced them with .wav and .aiff files and still the same problem. When I export to quicktime, the audio is 4 frames ahead of the video. In order to make it sync up, I have to move the audio four frames to the right. This is a terrible solutionThanks for responding. We did record at 24pn.
However as a test, I started a new project, loaded a piece of music (.wav), and created some plain color mattes in Premiere. Then I synced up the colors to change to the beat of the music. An export results in the same problem, so best that I can tell the issue is independent of the camera. -
Audio out of sync after converting flv to mov
Hi all,
Mission - I need to convert an .flv file to .mov in order to edit in FCP and export out again as flv file
Process - open flv in mpeg streamclip, export as quicktime mov.
Problem - when importing to fcp, the audio is out of sync. It may be in sync in one place but out in another. Seems like its a different frame rate???
What am I doing wrong? How can I fix this?? It's needed tomorrow morning.
Urgent help is appreciated. No response yet. Anybody have any ideas on this please?

Audio out of sync after DVX100A capture
Using FCP Studio to capture 24PA footage from my DVX100A, when I preview the audio during the capture it's perfectly synchronized with the previewed video, as it is on my camera display. But the moment my capture is done, the resulting FCP clip (as well as the underlying Quicktime movie file) is completely out of sync. It appears - though it's hard to tell - that the audio and the video are in sync at the first frame, though almost immediately, the audio starts to go faster than the video, so I hear my actors' voices before their lips form the words. I've tried adjusting all of my capture settings, capturing to different hard drives, and so on - nothing seems to work. There's plenty of free space on my dual processor G5 Mac, and I've edited many hours of 24PA video on this system already without a glitch, so I'm doubtful that dropped frames are the problem. More likely that I'm somehow capturing the video wrong, but I'm clueless at this point as to how to fix the problem. Thanks in advance for any light you can shine on this!
In checking my settings, I inadvertently tried playing the DVX MiniDV tape for a few seconds before starting my Capture Now. Wonder of wonders - it worked. I guess the problem was just that FCP didn't have time to read the timecode at the very beginning of the tape, or something like that. I let 'er play for two or three seconds first, then began my capture, and everything was nice and in sync. Thanks for your help on this!

Audio out of sync after media managing?
Hey! I have an interesting blip in the software found after I media managed a project of mine. Here is how I media managed the program:
Copy media referenced by duplicated items
Include render files
Include master clips outide selectin
Delete unused media from duplicated items
Use handles of 1 sec.
Include afiliate clips outside selection
Base media file names on exisiting names
Duplicate selected items and place in a new project but not including nonactive multiclip angles.
and I ended up getting something really interesting.
On some of my media clips, the audio associated with it had small blue bars across the top of each of the two audio channels. When an audio clip had one of these bars more often than not it only started halfway down the clip. At that point, when playing the clip from the beginning the audio would restart from the beginning of the clip again. It looks scary at first, but all that I did was control click (right click) on the clip and "remove attributes." We don't have any affects associated with these clips so nothing under the Remove Attributes box was checked, but I just clicked "OK" which seemed to effectivly refresh the clip and the audio was perfect again.
So, I'm wondering why it did this, and what I can do to avoid it doing this in the future. I'm about ready to move on to a new job and would like to figure out how to avoid it or know if I need to write up a little something for the next person in this position to know how to deal with it and not to freak out!
Thanks!

Audio out of sync after bring in from iPhoto
I designed a 644 image slides show in iPhoto and the made the mistake of bring it into iDVD. After talking here in Apple Discussion I was told to build it in iPhoto and bring it into iMovie that way at each 98th imaged it wouldn't stall as it did in iDVD. I had it all synced up in iDVD the way I wanted it. After going back and building a slide show in iPhoto with the audio and making a quick Time movie I brought it into iMovie and preview it and the sound is off by 3 images. The sound is coming in 3 images late. So I tried again in iPhoto to build a quick time movie without audio so then in iMovie I could hopefully edit the audio to match what I want but even if I check the box in iPhoto for "no audio" it still comes with it. Should I just forget about the quick time movie out of iPhoto and drag all the images into iMovie and go from there? And is quick time the right thing to render to for viewing on HDTV?
Hi Meg The Dog,
Thanks for your helpful response.
Please see two images below -- Properties 1 and Properties 2 screengrab. Below that is a screen shot of the sequence settings. My edit system is confiigured thusly (I *think*): I ingest the tape into FC7 via Log & Capture, from using a Sony XDCAM reader. I store the ingested media on data drive just for video, in my tower. Please let me know if this information was helpful and what else I might need to do! --Paolo
