No audio output from external speakers

can hear through ear buds but not through the external speakers
anyone had similar problems and can advise please

I bought my iPhone 3G Sept 28th. Up until a few days ago, I was able to play the Ipod through my the external music speaker on the iPhone. All the sudden the music stopped playing through the external speaker. The only way I can now listen to music is to plug in the earphones.
I've tried plugging and unplugging the earphones about 10 times, resetting the iPhone, resetting the iPhone through iTunes, blowing out the headphone plug with a can of air, etc. Nothing is solving the problem.

  • T520 audio output to external speakers

I am trying to connect my new T520 to the external speakers I had used with my deceased desktop, and I don`t want to cause any damage!
The speakers (subwoofer and 2 small speakers) were connected to a lime green jack on my desktop.  My question:  can I use the earphone jack of the Lenovo for that connection ?  I assume so, just want to make sure...
BTW, the sound coming from the portable is simply abysmal....
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes.  You can plug the green speaker plug into the headphone/audio out jack.  It will work fine.
You can adjust the volume of your speakers in Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Realtek HD Audio Manager.

  • Simultaneous audio output from Ipad and bluetooth ?

Is it possible to have simultaneous audio output from IPAD and a bluetooth speaker? At present I can only get audio from the Bluetooth Speaker and nothing from the IPAD's audio out! My purpose is that my Mom will hold the IPAD to listen to her Audiobooks but my Dad who sits across the room and is hard of hearing needs a speaker close to him, so I need simultaneous audio from both devices.

Use this: http://smile.amazon.com/KOKKIA-A10m-MULTI-STREAM-Transmitter-concurrently/dp/B00 69G1SIC/ref=smi_www_rco2_go_smi_1968491462?_encoding=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*= 0&pf_rd_p=1968491462&pf_rd_s=smile-campaign&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B0069G1SIC&pf_rd _m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1N57Q0YT9QW7Y1K596YD and use two Bluetooth speakers for them. The speaker output on the iPad is pretty limited and your mother will probably have a hard time hearing it. Get a BT speaker for both and the above device and they both can listen from whatever location they want (within 40 feet) and get better sound.

  • Analogue Stereo Audio Output from the New Mac Pro

Does anyone know what the analogue stereo audio output from the new Mac Pro is? From the specification, there appears to be a stereo output for headphones, but it is unclear what other audio outputs are available and whether a stand-alone amplifier is required to drive small stereo speakers. Yan (UK)

It is line-level. You will need powered speakers or an amplifier.

  • Problem: I lost the option to get the sound from external speakers or headphones to upgrade to Lion 10.7.3. It accepts only internal speakers.  I downloaded  Combo directly. I followed all the advice from the Apple community

Problem: I lost the option to get the sound from external speakers or headphones to upgrade to Lion 10.7.3. It accepts only internal speakers.  I downloaded  Combo directly , without using "Actualización de software". I followed all the advice from the Apple community.  Can I use bluetooth speakers to solve this problem?  My Computer: iMac. 20-inch, Early 2008. Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.

You may need to reset PRAM/NVRAM.
First, check that the jack is clean. Put some alcohol on a plug and insert it a few times. See if that helps.
is your output both digital and analog? If digital, is the red laser light visible in the socket? Do not look directly into the socket when checking.
If all else fails try a PRAM reset:
    Reset your computer’s PRAM
A small amount of your computer’s memory, called “parameter random-access memory” or PRAM, stores certain settings in a location that Mac OS X can access quickly. The particular settings that are stored depend on your type of Mac and the types of devices connected to it. The settings include your designated startup disk, display resolution, speaker volume, and other information.
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Immediately press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Continue holding the keys down until the computer restarts, and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
DO NOT HOLD These keys beyond the second startup sound!
    Release the keys.
Resetting PRAM may change some system settings and preferences. Use System Preferences to restore your settings.

  • It is very difficult to import audio files from extern drives (NAS) into the new garageband

it is very difficult to import audio files from extern drives (NAS) into the new garageband.

Are you trying to open an audio file in GarageBand or a GarageBand project?
To open an audio file drag it from your NAS to a real-instrument track in GarageBand.
If you are trying to open a GarageBand project - can you open the same project, if you copy it to your system drive?
    Trying Google translate -

  • Multi channel audio outputs from a laptop such as 5.1 or 7.1

is it possible to get multi channel audio outputs from a laptop such as 5.1 or 7.1 for watching Movies or television while using Windows media Center.

Ok so i order to help anyone who is interested.
The only ironic solution to this problem i found was to use a plugin called xto7 to convert the xml to the old fcp7 format.
i then imported this into premiere pro.
this was then able to export an OMF that when imported into logic 10 that was using the correct 6ch mono setting as separate tracks.
Insane but it works until Apple fixes the incorrect meta data import in FCPX that sets the xml export to the default import that is always surround.
this is the only way i was able to send stems with all the edit points and fades for the sound editor.
If you don't have premiere lying around you maybe able to do it with fcp7 too we just didn't have it in this studio.
Fingers crossed Apple fixes the fcpx xml export.

  • No audio output from the orange mini j

    Hi all,
I am having problem with my Audigy 4.
Hope you know what I mean, there are three 3.5mm mini jacks
of three different colors: green, black, and orange.
I have noticed that there are audio outputs from the green and black mini jacks only, while the orange mini jack seems to be not working at all.
When I plugged an earphone line to the orange mini jack,
I could hardly hear any sound from it.
Any idea?Message Edited by kwfine on 07--2007:03 AM

The orange jack is the center/subwoofer audio jack. If you're using a 5. speaker system. Make sure you have selected 5. speaker setting in the speaker setup software.

  • How can I toggle my iTunes audio output from my TV speakers to my Mac speakers

I've just recently set up my Apple TV.
This morning, I tried playing a song on my Mac with the intent of hearing it from my Mac speakers. However, the output came out of my TV speakers. How can I choose where the audio output is coming from?

From your Old Computer... Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..
An Added Bonus is that you will then have a Backup of iTunes...

  • "Squelchy" noise from external speakers plugged into headphone jack

I get a strange, warmly, high pitched static continuous "squelchy" noise from my external powered speakers when I have them plugged in via cable to the headphone jack of my iPad (3rd gen). The noise occurs only with the iPad - the noise is not present with other devices, such as my iPhone 4S, older iPhone 3G, or my Samsung Galaxy or Toshiba Thriven (both Android devices). Also, the noise is present only with external speakers - never with headphones. Doesn't happen with Bluetooth audio.
The pitch of the squelchy noise seems to be related to how much load the iPad processor is under, though I can't say for sure. I honestly have no idea why it's making this noise. I thought it might be a ground loop issue which occurred only when I had external powered speakers plugged in while the iPad was also plugged in, but the noise happens when the iPad is running on battery, as well.
Does anyone have any ideas how I might get rid of this noise?

I don't know if this could be your problem, but...
On some systems the BIOS will sometimes disable the on-board audio controller at startup if it doesn't detect anything connected to the inputs or outputs (older HP computers did this to me ).  You usually need to enter the BIOS and permanently enable the On-board Audio by changing the setting from 'Auto Detect' to 'Enabled'.
    Hope that helps.

  • Simultanious audio output from both mini Displayport and Audio Output port?

    Hey guys,
I was wondering if someone who already has audio+video output through the mini displayport set up can be so kind and answer the following questions for me:
Can audio be output simultaniously from 3.5mm audio port as well as the mini displayport? That is, if I output both video and audio to my reciever through the 2010 iMac's mini Diplayport, can i use the standard audio output port to provide line input for a further set of (active) speakers (analog would be fine)?
In the case both outputs CANNOT work simultaniously, which one will work if i have both plugged in? If the mini displayport has higher rank (or priority or what whatever i should call the one that works when both outputs are plugged in), and the reciever it is plugged into is switched off, will audio automatically switch to the standard audio port? Same question goes if the standard audio output port has higher rank/priority?
    Many thanks in advance!
Just in case you are wondering why the heck i would wanna do that, here's some background:
I am planning on setting up my new 27' iMac on a 'work' desk in my bedroom, where i can comfortably sit and work on the computer as well as use the beautiful screen as my bedroom TV. Since i also wanna use my mac for all my living room multimedia needs (movies, tv shows, music, etc), i plan on running a long (15m) audio+video HDMI cable all the way up to my reciever in my living room. Furthermore, i am also planning on running a USB cable to the living room (through something of this sort: http://www.coolgear.com/images/171632pro.jpg) plugged in to a usb hub mainly for mouse/keyboard availability in the living room, but also for other things such as external hard drives and so on. The problem is that, apart from having my audio play in the living room, i also want to provide line input to my reference monitors that will be located at the iMac desk and i obviously much prefer i get the line input directly from the mac rather than running a third cable from reciever back to the speakers.

    Anyone?
Is that so few people are using the new mini displayport for audio, or did i ask the wrong way?
Help will be greatly appriciated as i need this info in order to plan my purchases!

  • No sound from external speakers in win7 partition

    hi all,
apologies if this is a common problem - but i couldn't find any info specific to it on the web.
i installed windows 7 in 64bit w/ bootcamp on my macbook pro and so far everything has been going great .. other than that i can't get any sound out of my external speakers.
i have the latest cirrus audio drivers and i also have the realtek drivers that were recommended. the built in speakers work fine but, as we know, they're not great.
when i plug my external speakers in, for some reason, the control panel thinks that they are headphones. as far as i know there are no additional drivers required for the speakers. they are speedlink gravity nx 2.1 speakers if that's relevant.
    thanks in advance,
    nick

    Hi,
Your speakers are active and require 1.77v peak to peak at the input to produce sound, that is less than headphones need so if your Windows installation sees them as headphones it will not stop them from producing sound, so:
Get some headphones and plug them in, if there is no sound through them you can assume the port is outputting nothing.
Have you installed the BootCamp drivers from the CD?

  • I get sound from external speakers, but not songs

    Hi,
I have a pair of external speakers plugged into the output jack of my PC. I get sound, even from iTunes Help which Dings when I enter search criteria. But when I play songs in iTunes, they're silent. Since I get other sound from them, I know the volume is okay and they're plugged in, etc. I've played with all 3 volume controls -- the ones on the speakers, the one at the lower left next to the clock and the one in iTunes itself. Still no music.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Richard

This worked for me as well. Great find! I have gigabyte ep45-ud3r motherboard and I was getting all sound through external speakers except itunes was playing the sound out of the digital output instead of the speakers. I could see this when I went to control panel > hardware & sound > manage audio devices. I did the repair as described above and now I have sound in iTunes.

  • HP laptops diverting sounds from external speakers when headphones connected

    Hi there,
The problem is reproduced in several cases, but the most annoying is the following:
    1. Headphones are connected to the laptop (I assume all sounds must go to the headphones, not to the speaker)
    2. Have skype (or googletalk or several other apps) run in background
    3. Have browser (chrome, firefox) open and youtube video is being showed
    4. Message comes to IM (skype, gtalk...) and when BEEP from the application is played - it is played not in headphones, but in external speakers!
I though the issue was with skype - but after some time I faced with the same problem in other apps - and it is not reproduced on other laptops (not HP).
The problem is being seen on several different HP laptops. Here is details of my laptop:
    HP ProBook 6550b WD700EA#ACB
    Windows7 Enterprise 64bit, SP1

Ok I have it Fixed on my computer.
In the control panel then sound there are 3 devices.
    AMD HDMI Output
    AMD High Definition Audio Device
    Speakers and Headphones
    IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
    Communications Headphones
    IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
What apears to happen is that as soon as a communications type program starts it devides the audio inbetween 2 mixers and seperated the headphone jack from the main audio card. As soon as I right clicked and disabled the "Communications Headphones" Then there is only one mixer that focres all applications to use the heaphone jack instead of the regular applications through the external speakers and communication applications to the headphone.
If for any reason you want to reactivate the "Communications Headphones" one you disable you will need to right click in the sound windows and select show disabled devices.
