No audio selection after loading Driver for M-Audio MobilePre USB

I recently downloaded the latest Driver for my M-Audio MobilePre USB on my Mac Pro and the audio input out put selection in the system preferences are not showing up. However it does show it listed in "Other" in system preverences, but only the volume control.
How do I get it the input and output selection to work?

I tried calling them but they said you need to have a service number, when you registered, which I got mine about 9 or so years ago and dont remember any numbers!
You need to purchase a number to talk to service, its a bunch of c#@@p.

i need Mac driver for TP-Link Wireless USB adapter model no TL-WN7200ND

First of all, TP-Link does not provide OS X drivers for that adapter. However, there are other sources that have drivers like this one. It is not official and it may fail, but it has been tested by other users and it works correctly.

  • Start up error and beats audio crackling after realtech driver update

    I am having several issues.
If I plug in a external hard drive, the OS will not start and goes to "press esc for start up menu" in lower left corner on a black screen. I press esc and it goes to boot options.  I have done what HP states and hard started my computer twice and it did not help, and I have found no other suggestion to try and fix this. I have tried everything, including a system recovery and it still goes to the start up menu options.  If I disconnect the external, it will still appear, but the operating system will start up after a few seconds.  Why do I have to disconnect my external to start OS.  And for some reason, my external has been seated in the hardrive section of my computer, instead of the removable storage devices in my computer.
Also, after updating realtech driver, my beats audio speakers pops and cracks. I tried to roll back driver, but no changes. Please help. I dont want to go thru the trouble of sending my computer back for repair. This is really upsetting!!!!  I cannot play any videos or music, because of the crackling.  Why did it do that, and is it fixable.  My laptop has not been jarred or dropped in any manner to have caused any damage.  It started after the driver update, and even tho I rolled back the driver, it still does this.

    Hi @rbuckner35 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion 17t-f000  Notebook and issues with Beats Audio and startup issues. The startup looks at the USB as one of your Boot options. So it can not load anything until it know that this is not a boot device.
You could restore the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings which could resolve the issue with the sound.
Here is a fix that has helped others.
    1. Right click the Speaker icon in the bottom right corner by your time.
    2. Click Playback Devices.
    3. Click Speakers.
    4. Click properties.
    5. Click the advanced tab on the Properties window.
    6. Change the Default Format drop-down to the highest quality.
    7. Apply the properties.
    8. Click OK to close the properties window.
    I hope this helps.

  • Satellite Pro A300D - Driver for Multimedia audio controller

    Hi,
I have Toshiba Satellite pro A300D and one day the built in mic, built in camera and the speakers stopped working.
When i checked out Device manager i saw that the driver for the multimedia controller was not working so i uninstalled it and went on the toshiba site to installed the new driver.
When i looked up drivers for my computer they have everything except that driver!
Is there anyone who knows were i can find it?
I use the computer to work with music and i am gonna record some people soon and than i really need it to work!
    Best regards,
    Hermann

    Hi
    You are using Win XP?
Well, i had some problems with Win XP and sound as well.
The point is that Win XP needs some patches and updates before installing sound driver.
You have to install Win XP SP3 before installing sound driver.
    I recommend doing this;
    - remove from device manager the sound card and the Intel High Definition audio
    - uninstall the sound driver
    - install SP3 and update the Win XP to latest state
    - reboot the unit and install the sound driver again.
    - reboot and test the sound

  • Selecting a boot drive for Hyper-V 2012 server - is a boot drive performance important?

I'm setting up a new Hyper-V 2012 server dedicated to virtualization and I'm trying to determine the best choice for the boot drive.
I have 2x250gb SSD drives i'm considering for storage pools for VM's
I have an old 80GB SATA drive
I'm wondering how important the primary boot drive is in a Win 2012 Hyper-V setup. I can partition one of the SSD's to provide a boot partition, or I can just dedicate the 80GB SATA.
What do you think would be a better choice?
Edit: A more precise question, why not partition the SSD for boot? Is there any benefit for separating the disks for boot vs just the partition?
    Thanks,
    Deco

    Hello,
I hope you are having a great day!
What resources are available to you? If you have hardware RAID, it would be best to configure the SSD drives for RAID 1 (mirrored) and run everything from that. This will provide you fault tolerance in the case of a drive failure.
If hardware RAID is not available to you, then definitely use the 80GB SATA drive as the OS Boot Drive, without a hardware RAID for the OS disks you will have a single point of failure no matter what disks you use. Yes with SATA drive the system will boot
up slower :-( , but that is about the only negative.
This will also enable you to leave the SSD's as RAW un-formatted disks which can then be configured in a Storage Pool with mirroring if you wish and then have the VHD's reside there.
Absolutely, dedicate the SSD's for the placement of the Virtual Machines Config and Vhd/Vhdx Files.
For absolute best performance results use VHDX Fixed disks for maximum performance.
Dynamically expanding VHDX will have a minor almost unnoticeable performance hit (depending on the purpose of the VM) and help ensure that the amount of hard disk space the VHDX file is occupying is kept to a minimum. An example of degradation in performance
would become noticeable if for instance, the VM is being used as a file repository and users are constantly uploading files.
The bottom line is, if you don't have hardware RAID for the OS you always have a single point of failure, so hope for the best and keep great backups.

  • Windows Could not find the Driver for your Apple iPod USB Device (5G 30GB)

    I have a 8GB iPod Nano. My roommate has a 30GB 5G Video. Black.
My iPod syncs flawlessly. His is not recognized by Windows or iTunes. Every time we plug in the iPod, it prompts us for the driver. I tried to install the update apple mentions through the windows process, but after going through the tedious Windows Genuine Verification process, I was told that the update didn't apply to my computer.
We use a Lenovo Thinkpad T60p, which shipped with Windows Vista Business.
We are running iTunes 7.3.1.3, and there are no windows updates available for the computer.
    I have...
    ...reset
...reinstalled 7.3.1.3 (over and over and over)
...tried different USB ports. (Early on, we saw it once after swapping ports).
...tried turning off the ability of the computer to 'Turn this device off to save power."
I have also verified that the iPod works on my work Dell Lattitude D620 running XP, and that it's not the cord, as we've used the cord that came with my Nano as well.
So, the problem seems to be with vista, as many people seem to have had. The best thread I found that deals with this was http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=995793.
But even after having tried everything, I still have an unrecognizable iPod.
When I run iPod diagonostics, everything seems okay, except for the iPod connection, which says failed. I've had difficulty working with the iPod service under Computer/Device Manager - it doesn't ever seem to stop or start, with the iPod plugged in or not.
And interestingly enough, the FAT32 external harddrive that I use to back up my data exhibits exactly the same problem ("Windows could not find the driver for your USB Mass Storage Device). This device worked great in XP, and even odder, I have a FAT32 partition of the main HD as a swap space between my VistaOS and my Ubuntu installation.
Do I have to chalk this up to another issue with Windows Vista? What bothers me there is that you're a ping-pong between windows support and apple support - no one really owns up the problem.

Bill, I've been stuck in this loop for 3 months since buying a new laptop with Vista Basic. I've tried everything to no avail. I don't know what else to do apart from buying a cheap PC running XP. Let me know if you manage to find a solution and I'll do the same.
    Regards. Adam

  • Where can I find the USB driver for the serial to USB adapter?

I have a Palm IIIc with the serial HotSync cradle and USB adapter but I dont have the driver disc for it and was wondering if there was a page within the site here I could download it from?

    Post relates to:

I did a Google search and found this link:
    http://www.gilsson.com/usb_drivers_download.htm
It had the Prolific USB-to-Serial driver for WinXP. I downloaded & installed it. It created a COM5 port that my Palm Desktop found automatically. I hit the HotSync and, presto!, everything works perfectly. I only spent 5 hours trying to solve this problem for my dad.
He hadn't HotSync'd his Palm IIIxe to his home laptop since NOV2005!! And he hadn't HotSync'd to his work PC since he retired in JUL2008 (and he doesn't have access to that PC anymore).
I'll repeat this post in the other threads I queried on. I hope this helps someone solve their USB-to-Serial Adapter Driver problems.

  • OS X driver for Airlink AWLL6070 wireless USB adapter?

Is there any one know the Driver for Lion and SL for Airlink wireless AWLL6070 USB adapter.  Airlink web site does not show any Mac driver support.  I use this adapter in window and it works fine. I want to use it on Mac too.

    kappy,
just like you mentioned, the driver did not work.  I force my lion boot into 32-bit mode but it didn't work as well.  I look at the /var/log/install
    "PKLeopardPackage <file://localhost/Users/john/Downloads/MAC-airlink-awll5077/10.6/Installer.pkg# rtl8192sus.pkg>"
    It was installing rtl8192sus.pkg
I believe it is driver for realtek chip.
I somehow spot in system profile that airlink awll6070's manufacture chip is Ralink.

I search ralink.com and found that there is a driver for mac.
    http://www.ralinktech.com/support.php?s=3
I download and install 10.6 version of driver on Lion. well, it seems to work now.
I forced my system to boot into 32-bit because one of the driver did not work in 64-bit mode.
I will give it a try to boot into 64-bit mode to see if it work.

  • External Hard Drive for iMac - Firewire or USB?

I need an external hard drive for my new iMac. Can you clarify the difference between a firewall connection and a USB connection? I assume you use one or the other, but not both. If I use firewall, will that free up a USB port (which I'd like to do)? Also, some USB hard drives require 2 USB ports; this I do not want!
Also, do these hard drives work like a zip drive.....no more complicated?
Beyond this, do you have any other advice about which hard drive to purchase?
    Thanks.

I think you are starting to put the cart before the horse. Back up (pun intended) and think about what your goal is. Is it your intention to back up just your user documents, photos, and music? When disaster strikes (note that I didn't say if) are you okay with installing the OS from the DVD, reinstalling all your software, reconfiguring your printer, your scanner, your internet, and setting everything up the way it was? Notice that I'm really piling it on here! I don't know about you, but it took me about a week to fully move into my new computer and if my hard drive died tomorrow, I don't want to spend (I don't have) a week putting it back together again.
My backup plan, in the nutshell, consists of three parts. 1) a clone of my hard drive; an exact duplicate so if my drive dies I can reboot and get right back to work. So that when I install the new drive I can immediately repopulate it as it was. 2) an incremental backup, especially of my data. If I discover I deleted a file I didn't mean to, I can go back a few days to a pre-delete backup and restore that file. 3) a backup of crucial material that leaves the house so if file destroys my computer or a thief makes off it with I haven't lost the most very precious information.
I believe everyone should adopt a plan similar to mine. The particulars of how you achieve the plan will vary but I think all three steps are vital. If you agree then your hard drive needs to be large - 120GB probably doesn't come close to cutting it. To estimate how big a drive you'd need to implement this plan, determine how much of your drive you are currently using. Double it. That is once for the clone and once for the complete (non-bootable) backup Time Machine will make. Now, at the very least, add the full contents again. That is for a couple weeks worth of incremental backups. Now add another 50% for growth as you add new programs, music, photos, and data.
So if you are currently using 30GB of your computer's hard drive, 105GB is the very smallest drive you want. The 120GB drive you are talking about is okay. Barely. When you get it make a 40GB partition and a 80GB partition. The 40GB is for the clone you'll make using SuperDuper! and the 80GB is for Time Machine. Of course, if you are using more than 30GB then you need a bigger drive for your backup. And if you know you intend to add a goodly amount of stuff to your drive soon, then plan for it now.
Now if you are okay with getting the computer back together more slowly - maybe being without it complete if the drive dies - you can dispense with keeping the clone. In that case, you will want to determine your current disk usage and buy a drive about 150% to 200% of that. It'll take about an hour to reinstall the OS on the hard drive and depending on how much you have in data and other programs, another half hour to a couple hours to restore that.
