No Audio through DisplayPort in W500(Displayport to HDMI)

I have issue in getting audio when i use DisplayPort to HDMI cable to connect  HDTV with  in W500(ATI mobility FireGL V5700 ) with Lenova provided driver 8.752.4-101022a-107489C
But from ATI website can i use Driver version 8.773.1.1 for W500 ATI mobility FireGL V5700 TO SOLVE the audio over display port to HDMI Issue?
HDMI option is not shown up when i press Fn + F6 (advanced audio)
Is there any separate audio drivers for this model ?
Can i able to install microsoft HD audio UAA driver for this model?
In 2009  forums  , Intel limitation was mentioned . I thought by this time any fix available for this issue
This model has discrete switcable graphics option between (intel AMT and ATI fireGL mobility)   And ATI has the feature of Display port audio  , HDMI audio from the latest drivers.
Does it mean Lenova have n't integrated the latest reference driver from ATI to solve the issue?
Any way to enable audio in BIOS level ?
I heard the same model with NVIDIA graphics card can able to get audio through display port to HDMI cable
Thanks in advance

This wiki page says it is possible for w500
http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/DisplayPort
Audio over DisplayPort when used in conjunction with a DisplayPort to HDMI conversion cable is confirmed to work on W500, T410 and T510 both on integrated and discrete graphics options on Windows systems.
So it is confusing.
please justify for the reply/answers so that we can conclude.

  • Getting audio through TV instead of MACBook using HDMI

I have a MacBook Pro - late 2008 model and apparently the Audio works differently using HDMI Cable. I have got perfect picture on the tv but no sound. After 3 days of reading other questions and answers I am still lost. So... I have a Macbook, a 2 year old Vivo TV, an HDMI Cable and the Apple adapter to use the HDMI Cable. My only problem is no sound. From my reading I can see that I need 'audio jack' and RCA cables... WHAT are these and how can I finally just get some sound on my tv using my mac. I really dont want to buy a new computer if I can avoid it.

If you go into system preferences, sound, select the output tab and click on your TV/Display name it should put the audio out through the TV.

  • Does my MacBook passes audio through Mini Display Port or not?

I recently bought a Mini DisplayPort > HDMI adapter in order to display my MacBook on my TV. Other users of the same adapter publicly stated that they got video AND audio out, but I got only video.
I've been searching this online for two days now and I still don't know why (I even searched this support forum, but I must admit that I got a little lost and decided to write my own topic). All I discovered was that some MacBooks have this capacity (to port audio along with video through Mini DisplayPort) and others don't.
I'm using a white MacBook unibody bought new and latest on late 2009. It's the first model with multitouch trackpad and without FireWire port. Its model name is "MacBook 6,1", I guess.
Does anybody know for sure if It CAN, in fact deliver audio+video through the Mini DisplayPort if I'm using a compatible HDMI adapter?
    Thanks.

These models pass audio through the display port:
iMac (Late 2009), MacBook Pro (Mid 2010), MacBook (Mid 2010), and Mac mini (Mid 2010) supply multichannel audio (up to 8 channels) and video signals over Mini DisplayPort. To connect your television or other HDMI devices to your Mac, use select third-party Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapters that conform to the VESA v1.1a DisplayPort Interoperability Guidelines. The following adapters adhere to these standards:
    - Moshi Mini DP to HDMI Adapter with Audio Support
    - Griffin Video Display Converter (Mini DisplayPort to HDMI and DVI)

  • X230T - No audio through Ultrabase Series 3

    Hi,
I have a ThinkPad Ultrabase Series 3 that I have used for the past 12 months with my X220T. I have purchased an  X230T now and placed in to the same Ultrabase Series 3. Everything seems to work EXCEPT I don't get any audio through the speaker out port in the docking station. Has anyone else had this problem or can anyone let me know if it works on their setup?
    Thanks

  • How to make my computer send all the audio through optical audio cable instead of headphone jack?

    Howdy,
To listen to online radios or CD's played from my computer, I used to connect the computer to my home entertainment system from the computer's headphone jack to the AUX port on my home entertainment system.
I now wanted to get better sound and purchased the optical audio cable. However, I don't know how to tell my computer to send the audio signal to the home entertainmeny system through the optical digital cable rather than through the headphone jack. If I just unplug the cable connecting the headphone jack and the AUX port and only have the PC and the system connected with the optical audio cable, I don't hear any sounds. I suspect the computer isn't sending any data through the optical audio port. I'm not able to find how I can adjust the settings on my computer so that from now all sounds are output through the optical audio.
    1) I'd like to do that mainly for my HP desktop (configuration below) and any advice on how to do that would be appreciated.
    2) I also have a HP laptop (configuration below) and was wondering if that would be doable too (even though it doesn't appear to have a audio out, but it has HDMI out - can one convert it to optical audio?

    Hello @_goma,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I have read your post on how you are looking to make your computer send all the audio through an optical audio cable instead of the headphone jack, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
To configure your desktop to enable the optical audio cable, I recommend following the steps below:
Step 1. Click the Windows Key Button on your desktop
    Step 2. Type "Control Panel"
Step 3. Select "Control Panel" in the top right-hand corner
    Step 4. Select Sound
Step 5. Under the Playback tab, right-click the white area below the devices available
Step 6. Select "Show Disabled" and "Show Disconnected Devices"
Step 7. Connect your Optical Audio Cable
Step 8. Select your Optical Audio Cable as the default device and click "Enable"
Since it is not possible to convert the HDMI out to audio out on your notebook computer, it is unfortunate that the notebook is not able to connect with an optical audio cord.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

Can I connect my Apple TV to the Blu-Ray using an HDMI/ USB adapter?
If you can find such a thing.  I really doubt that exists since USB is a data connector not a video connector.
would allow me to run the audio through my stereo.
That would depend on this adapter.

  • Trying to record Stereo Mix with a monitor through my headphones.  Using Screenium to record Audio and Video, using Avid MBox Mini with MXL 909 Microphone for the audio through the interface.

Basically, what I am trying to do is this:
Record my screen through Screeenium, record my voice as audio through an Avid MBox Mini (interface) with a MXL 909 microphone to pick up the audio.  I have all that figured out.  I'm able to efficiently record my audio and screenplay through these instruments and programs.  What I am having trouble with is the stereo mix.  I am running into a slew of problems here... My goal: Add on the audio of a game that I am playing (for example, Amneisia) so that the audio for my game will be picked up internally, and not through the speakers to be recorded through the microphone.  I want there to be no external sound except me talking into my microphone.  I also want to be able to HEAR the audio of the game through my headphones (and if possible, myself as well, through a monitor maybe?)
Problems I have run into so far:
-Haven't gotten it to pick up in game audio at all while using headphone.  Can't figure this out
-Downloaded soundflower, have the output as soundflower.  Not picking up anything, will put all my sound and midi settings at the end.
-When I do record through my microphone, it is only picking up a single channel (left earpiece only, no right channel)
-I have figured out it is NOT the equipment, I use Pro Tools and am able to pick up both channels with my mic, recorded a few tests. It's settings and I can't      figure it out
-Trying not to run 16 million programs while running the game, will cause lag.
    Summed up:
    Trying to record:
-Audio from gameplay of any game I am playing through alternative route of speakers (do NOT want to record game audio through speakers, internally)
-Record voice through Avid MBox Mini and MXL 909 microphone.
    -Record screen gameplay through Screenium
I followed a guide that told me to achieve "stereo mix'' I need to download soundflower and follow "X" steps.  That is done and these are my current settings:
Audio Midi Setup - Stereo Mix custom Aggregate Device, Soundflower (2ch) selected, Avid Mbox Mini selected, Soundflower Output #1 has 2 channels (1-2), using Avid MBox mini for "Input" in order to record.  Using Soundflower AND Avid MBox mini as "Output" in order to hear the sounds and replay game sounds (could be the problem? Maybe?)
Sound Settings - Output Stereo Mix (custom channel)  Input Avid MBox Mini (recording)
I'm hoping this isn't too hard to understand.. I'm VERY bad at explaining information regarding computers.. It's hard becuase I don't understand it.  I can clarify anything that I am able to, so any help on finding certain things would be greatly appreciated.
My computer: Macbook Pro MAC OS X Lion (11G63) 10.7.5  2.4 GHz Intel Core i7 4GB 13333 MGz DDR3  (If any of this is imporant)

    Hey guys,
I tried to do some research and it looks like you need to have an external device and its drivers, such as an external microphone, installed on the computer to record audio that can be saved as a sound file. Another Suggestion is to try an auxiliary spliter for your headphones and external speakers?
What software are you using to record your game?
If anyone knows anything different, please let me know.

  • How can I get synched audio through the computer rather than camera in FCE?

There does not seem to be an easy way to listen to FCE audio through the computer's setup for internal or external speakers. I have for years used Detour to route all of my audio through an M-Audio Firewire 410 interface, and then on to my home stereo system. I then route all systems sounds and sounds in apps like iMail through the internal speaker. This works great. Except with Final Cut Express. For quite a while I could not do anything except play through a firewire connected to an attached Sony PC100 digital video camera, plugging headphones into it's jack.
After many hours and reading many strings on this and other discussion boards, and even reading the product manual, I tried sending FCE through the computer speaker and sure enough it works. By that reasoning, I had Sound Prefs send all audio through the m-Audio setup and that works. Except now I must listen to all of the system sounds that way as well.
OK, I could live with that for my editing sessions, except that now I am experiencing a sound synch delay of around one second. It's all fine when I switch back to the camera as the monitor, but not when routed through, what should be the better sound setup, having the comouter send the soud via the m-audio and stereo.
    G5 dual 2Mgz   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   m-audio firewire 410; 1.5G DDR SRAM;

In final cut, you want the audio to be following the same path as the video - otherwise, as you have experienced, there are processing delays.
If you are sending your video out firewire to an external monitor, the audio should follow. Take the audio off of the A/DV converter and route it to your speakers (or amp & speakers) from there.
    good luck.

  • New Retina Macbook Pro...no audio through HDMI

I ordered the Amazon HDMI cable (http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-High-Speed-HDMI-Cable-Meters/dp/B003L1ZYYM/re f=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1365112977&sr=8-1&keywords=hdmi) which supports Video, Audio, 3D, etc. I have my HDTV hooked up as a second display right now but the audio is not transferring to my TV. There is also no option to change my output device. Do I need to mirror my Macbook to my TV in order for audio to transfer?

Not sure how to edit, but I just tried mirroring my rMBP to the TV and there is still no option to send the audio through the TV...

Amazon Prime reply app does not allow video airplay - nor do several other content providers.
It must have something to do with digital rights/copyright.

  • USB Dock 3.0 Audio through DVI-HDMI cable?

    Hey there!
I currently own the yoga 2 pro and I am looking for a suitable dock. One thing that prevented me from ordering the usb 3.0 dock was that I am not sure whether with a DVI to HDMI cable I am able to get audio from my laptop to a TV.
    For better understanding: Laptop -> USB 3.0 -> USB 3.0 Dock -> DVI -> HDMI -> TV
I asked my local retailer and they said it isn't possible but I am not sure whether they tested my method. They said I'll be needing a seperate audio jack cable -.- ugly... with my old 460 GTX I was able to transmit sound with the same DVI/HDMI cable
Can anyone who owns the USB 3.0 dock confirm that audio through DVI-HDMI cable to a TV is working / not working?
    Any help is appreciated!
    Greetings

DVI won't carry audio on the ThinkPad USB 3.0 dock.

What do you mean exactly? Are you wanting to output the audio to your iPhone while say watching a video on your Apple TV?  If so, I'm afraid it's not possible.  However, you should post this in the Apple TV forums for a better confirmation on then.  There are some prettty knowledgable people who hang out there.
