No audio track from .mts file created with panasonic camcorder

I am running windows 7 and adobe premiere 6.  I have a few .mts files recorded using a panasonic hmc camcorder.  These videos played fine with sound on the computer. But once they are imported into premiere, there is no audio, in fact the track is missing.  Does premiere not support .mts files? Is there a way to convert them into a format supported by premiere?

Is the audio recorded as multi-channel?  Is it PCM or Dolby?  Try importing clips from the camera that have stereo audio.  If it turns out that multi-channel audio is the problem, load the clip into Audition (if you have it) and process it there.  If you don't have Audition you could try the open-source program Audacity, but I don't know how well or even if it supports multi-channel audio.

Hello everybody, can you explain me why in PREMIERE PRO CS6, the video from .ts files (created with Arcsoft Showbiz) is played in accelerated while the sound is played normally ?
If it is normal, an update would be great
    Thank you.

As far as I know, the best way to digitize vhs tapes is with a http://www.grassvalley.com/products/converters product
Model 55 is one way from tape to computer, model 110 allows exporting back to tape
Files are DV AVI which edit very well in all versions of Premiere

  • Premiere Pro CC and missing audio tracks for .mts files

    Hello guys,
I used to edit my .mts files with Premiere Pro CC without any issues until yesterday.
Now I import my .mts file (made with a Sony VG900) but Premiere doesn't recognize the audio tracks (that I can hear just fine with VLC).
I tried changing the extension in .m2ts but it didn't work, I also tried reinstalling Premiere but, again, it didn't work and I tried (I was desperate) to install Premiere CS6 just to check if maybe the problem was just about the CC version. Guess what? It didn't work...
I tried also converting the file with Encoder in .mp4 but after the conversion I can't hear the audio with VLC and, of course, it doesn't work on Premiere.
Do you think it's a Premiere issue or a file problem?
I used those same files for other videos (like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1X5vsZ-5yI) and I had no problems. Then I updated Premiere, I moved the files in other folder and the problem came to life.
    Any idea?
(I'm waiting for my colleague to send me a new mts file just to check if I accidentally damanged the old ones).

    A similar problem here..... although......
Take a look at this screenshot
As you will see, the blue marked audio is repeated audio of less than on sec. Certainly not the way it has been recorded.
I think I've got the answer........ (working with Premiere Pro CC, always up to date, Mac OX 10.9.2; Camera: Sony HXR NX3)
    1. Don't copy but clone your flash card to the location where to edit on your hard drive. At the same time: alt+click on external flash card, draw it onto your hard drive location.
(or use carbon copy cloner, which I use for backup and transferring avchd files).
    2. Don't import regularly via the import dialogue box (cmd-i). Instead: use the mediabrowser browser, locate the map "private" (as often standard named),
    3. Via cmd-a (select all): select all videofiles.
    4. click right mouse button and select import.
This way, all the video and audio files will be imported.
If however you have alreade re-used your camera flash card for recordings and don't have access to the 'corrupted' files to be imported into your project, you won't be able to solve the problem. You just lost some of the essential data which were not copied onto your Mac.
This solution I found for my problem may well be the one you are looking for........
Another solution might be to convert the compressed avchd - before importing into your project - into uncompressed .mov filed. However...... you will lose data so this is not exactly what I would prefer if the former described workflow does fix the problem for you.
Please let me know if this works for you or not.
    Good luck!
    Regards,
    Peter

I tried importing directly from the folder on the card or the MTS directly. I didn't get audio in either way. I'm on iMac with Premiere CS6.

  • 2nd Audio track from merged .m4v files does not play on iPod Touch

I used Handbrake to encode two .m4v files of a concert DVD that spans two DVDs. I then took those two files and combined them into Quicktime Pro to create a single .m4v file. The file plays fine in QT but when I transfer the file to my ipod, only the first audio track (from the first file) plays. Once the video from the second file plays, the audio is silent. Here's what the movie properties look like:
Enabled Name Start Time Duration Format
    ====================================================
    Y Video Track -- 0:00:00:00 -- 2:21:53:90 -- H.264
    Y Audio Track1 -- 0:00:00:00 -- 2:21:53:90 -- AAC
    Y Audio Track2 -- 1:27:28:87 -- 0:54:24:02 -- AAC
    N Text Track -- 0:00:00:00 -- 2:21:53:90 -- Text
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Dan

So basically, anytime I combine more than one mp4 file in QT7 Pro, it will always create multiple audio tracks when doing a simple "save as" (vs. export as)
Not exactly. QT has it own set of rules. As you noted, the video track had no problem merging into a single track. This would not have happened if you had merged video compressed differently or added an image/stretched image sequence. Not knowing your specific work flow or settings, I hesitate to make any claims here. Frankly, when merging audio, I normally prefer to use GarageBand when I want to create a single master audio track and still retain control of the other tracks for mixing purposes. However, I could just as well have exported the audio in the original file using QT Pro to a single audio file and used that audio track to replace both original tracks keeping both the original video and chapter tracks. It is all a matter of which work flow you consider easiest for a particular job or project.
If I've exported out my chapter file as a plain text file, how do I go about reintegrating that withing the final mp4 file using QT?
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/tutorials/chaptertracks.html
The above link is a somewhat old tutorial explaining how to create a chapter text track from scratch. Since you already have the chapter track, just refer to the steps indicating how to add the text file back to your main movie file. (Ignore the step that says to set a "Preload" option as this pop-up has been removed.)

  • How to extract one of several audio tracks from a .vob file?

    Hi guys,
hope you can help me, i'm looking for a solution for hours now but can't find one.
I would like to know how to extract one audio track from a .vob file when there are different tracks/languages on the dvd? Media encoder does it very well, but i can't find the option for choosing the right audio track/language for extraction. Please help
    Kind regards
    Alex

This is because the OMF specification requires mono audio files
It really depends on what you are trying to do with the two tracks as to the best answer as far as 'grouping'
You could select all the clips on both tracks and right mouse click and select 'group'
You could send both tracks to a bus
You could export the two tracks to a stereo file and bring that back into the session
Lots more things I'm sure but a little more detail as to what you are trying to do would help

  • How do I seperate the audio track from the video and save it to a CD in Premiere Elements 13?

How do I seperate the audio track from the video and save it to a CD in Premiere Elements 13?

    Binbashi
You can separate the audio track from video and save it to a DVD disc within Premiere Elements but not a CD disc.
To do save to the audio to DVD disc, you do not have to separate linked audio video, just use the export Publish+Share/Computer/Audio and set Presets to the wanted format (AAC, AIFF, MP3, or Windows Waveform (WAV).
You will not see Audio in the choices since it is at the bottom of the list of choices under Publish+Share/Computer/. You will need to use the thin scroll bar to the right of the choices to scroll to it.
If you need information on selective export of Timeline content when dealing with more than just this one file on the Timeline, please let us know. If you are trying to produce a CD for listening in car or CD player elsewhere, please let us know.
Looking forward to learning of your results.
    Thank you.

  • Is there an easy way to remove audio track from .mp4

    Guys
Wondered if anybody knows of a way to take a .mp4 file with a silent audio track exported and remove that audio track altogether without having to reconvert the video in AME- just deleting the (silent) audio track
Have lots of files that need this and was looking for a way to do this without going back and reexporting  all the clips the hard way
Any thoughts much appreciated-- (I have access to both Windows 7 and WIndows XP pro 64 bit)
    Thanks
    Tony

    Thanks Jim
I figured that would work but for some reason the resulting files did not play correctly--Alternatively I used Mpegstreamclip -opened the video I wanted to erase audio track from--- clicked on "edit--delete audio track" then clicked "save as" and this finally accomplished what I was trying to do--Now have a copy of the .mp4 file wo audio
Thanks for all your help--Hope this thread helps someone in the future

  • I just loaded Audition, but when I try to edit an audio track from Captivate the "edit in adobe audi

I just loaded Audition, and already had Captivate on my computer. I'm trying to edit an audio track from Captivate, so I go to Audio>Edit>Slide. But, the window that comes up does not have the "Edit in Audition" button activated. The button is faint, thus doesn't work. How do I sync these two programs so I can edit a Captivate Audio file in Audition?

    From the captivate help file:
You can use Adobe Audition to edit audio when you want to go beyond the audio editing options available in Adobe Captivate. For example, to apply filters or remove noise, you need an advanced audio editor such as Adobe Audition. You can either edit the audio files from slides or batch process by opening multiple files in Adobe Audition using the Library panel.
The changes reflect in Adobe Captivate library and the associated slides where the audio files are being used. The saved files are reimported to Adobe Captivate with the slide associations intact.
Note:  This feature is available only in Adobe Captivate that is installed as a part of Adobe eLearning Suite.
I think that the last line probably answers your question....

  • Workflow Suggestions for Getting Multiple Audio Tracks From Drum Machine

My goal is to make separate audio tracks from the MIDI output coming out of a hardware Boss DR-880 drum machine. It has nice drum samples that I would like to use. So far, I know how to split the output by MIDI notes as to create multiple tracks. I end up with a about 10 tracks which are all MIDI of course. What I want to do is end up with all audio tracks. This way I can set the levels and EQ to taste for each part of the drum kit.
What's the most straightforward way to achieve this goal? I tried bouncing in place but that only works for plugins -it's grayed-out for the post note split generated MID tracks. I also found a post on this forum with what I think is similar question but it's closed and the question was not clearly answered for a newbie like me.
So far I can do this:
    1. Record the MIDI output from the drum machine to an External MIDI track.
    2. I then split the MIDI track by note to get multiple MIDI tracks.
    3. To get audio I play each track individually e.g., just the kick drum and record the audio coming
out of the drum machine into an audio track.
This is a huge pain since I have on average about 10 MIDI tracks! There has to be a better way, right?
    Thanks!

    hi there:
ok now when u want to do such a thing which i totally understand what u are trying to do !so u have these options L
1- u should have a mixer to feed it with all your outputs from outboard gears like drum machines ,samplers etc...coz what u like in your dr-880 is the character of its sound and trust me if i tell you even if u tried to sample it and put it into any sampler software ,it will have the same sound but not the same character ! so thats why we still have samplers and out board gears and they will be still manufactured coz of that reason ...so for example i use my akai s6000 sampler which it has 16 outputs direct to my mixer so i can do what ever i want midi wise and audio wise with out any pain ,coz even if i have the same samples into my whatever sampler software i will never have the color and the character of the sound coming out from my akai ...and i use a drum machine which it has 10 outs as well and all is playing in sync in real trime with my audio tracks inside my logic ...this is the best solution !but i think u dont have that solution but u have to think about it if u bring a good console..!
2- you don't have to divide your midi from your machine you just do what ever its need to be done and when u finish record them one by one into your logic or 2 by 2 or what ever but in this case u cant control the midi of it anymore
but you gonna pain to do that every time coz sometime u dont have much time to think about u have to record the sound before any mix down!but it will work for you
3- make samples by your own of your drum machine and use esx24 to play them !but again you gonna lose the character of your sound but still having the same sounds u want ( if u know how do make a good samples).
i hope this tips gonna be useful for you .
    cheers..!:)

  • Audio track from EXTERNAL midi

    Hi,
Logic 9 doesn't seem to allow me to create an audio track from an External midi instrument. If I'm wrong, how do I accomplish the task?

Hi Spheric, and thanks for your input.
It seems that Logic 9 treats External midi and Internal midi differently. I brought this up at a One-to-One session and
    1) we had to change Preferences/Audio/to "Slow (CPU saving) in order to Solo the external midi track, and
    2) the track would not transfer to the Audio track that I set up, even at this slower CPU setting.
I've read other complaints about this on the Net - but with no answer yet.
I appreciate your getting back to me,
    Paulie too

  • Can't open DNG files created with Mac CS5 downloader in Mac CS4 Photoshop

I recently installed CS5 on my mac but I kept CS4 installed as well.  I notice that I cannot open DNG files created with CS5 in Photoshop CS4.  Bridge CS4 shows the files only as icons - no image thumbnails.  I am able to open these same files on a Windows version of CS4.  Is there some plugin for my mac CS4 that will enable me to access the DNG files created with CS5?  Is there a way to use my CS5 downloader when converting my raw files from my camera to DNG files that will make them compatiple with PS and Bridge CS4?

Well, yes...but you'll need to modify your DNG Converter prefs to allow for that. You''ll need a recent (ideally current DNG Converter 6.4.1 or above) and click on the DNG Converter preferences and select the correct DNG Converter options. Check DNG Converter 6.4.1 (the current version) and click on "Change Preferences" to be sure select Camera Raw 5.4 and later then make sure CS4 is updated to ACR 5.7 (which is the last version of ACR for CS4) However, the changes made to ACR 6.x really should be adopted since IQ for ACR 6.4.x is a lot better...

  • DNG files created with LR4 do not show thumbnails

    Hi,
When using LR3 to create DNG files from my RAW files, those files would show me thumbnails of my image in Windows Explorer.  I am running Windows/7 (64) and have installed a CODEC from "Fast Picture Viewer" that allows thumbnails from RAW & DNG files to be shown.   It seems, however, that the thumbnails do not show for DNG's created with LR4.
To Remedy this I uninstalled the CODEC.  Downloaded the most recent version and installed it but this did not fix the problem.
I then went to the user forum for the CODEC product and searched for my problem.  I found a thread who's solution is to turn off "Embed Fast Load Data" when exporting to DNG and it fixes the problem.  I tried this and indeed it did fix it.  The responder went on to say ".....When this option is enabled the files created are no longer DNGs (just an undocumented private format of Adobe that no one else can read to this date)".   This statement surprised me as it is counter to what I understand Adobe created DNG to be.  Can I get some input on this comment as if true it is very troubling.
My second question is that I see where to turn off the "Embed Fast Load Data" in the LR Export module, but where do I do the same thing in the Import module when I'm selecting import mode "Copy to DNG"?
And, my thrid question is this.  If indeed the DNG files created by LR4 are proper DNG files and this CODEC is just flawed in some way, does anyone have a better way to allow image thumbnails to be shown in Windows Explorer?
    Thanks -- Dan

    Hi David,
You testing does not coincide with mine.  I have consistently kept "Use
lossy compression" turned off.  With lossy turned off, it seems that using
Fast Data Load prevents the thumbnails from displaying whereas turning off
"Fast Data Load" allows the thumbnail to be shown.
Below is comment from Adobe confirming that they have yet to release the
    spec containing "Fast Data Load".

Thank you. MPEG Slipstream worked great.
Do you know if there is software available that would let me see what is in/copy the files in the Sony folder so that I might be able to copy the disk directly instead of having to copy the files off of it with Handbrake? Would having the QT add-on for the MPEG-2 playback component be helpful?
