No Audio with Sony, Deployed Soldier needs help

I am deployed to Afghanistant with the Army and I am on my third version of CS3 and after talking to the Tech support the other night I found out that the Codec my Sony camera has is not supported by CS3. Purchaseing a $500.00 plug in is NOT an option. Can anyone help me, how can I get the CS3 to bring in Audio? I have a deadline of mid to late October 2008 to finsih this product and could really use the help.
Thanks,
Chris F.

Wild guess, try this:
If you've got Encore CS3 installed , copy the file ad2ac3dec.dll from
the Encore CS3 directory and paste it into the PPro CS3 root directory.
Once you restart CS3, you'll be able to import the file with the
audio. This means if you've already have a project with the files
imported, you'll need to remove the files from the project and
then re-import them, or just start over with a new project.

  • After entering the redemption code from Adobe Photoshop CC, I keep getting an error saying "This card was purchased in a country that does not match your Adobe ID. You can try signing in with a different Adobe ID or get in touch with us if you need help."

Hi. I'm a Mac user. After entering the redemption code from Adobe Photoshop CC, I keep getting an error saying "This card was purchased in a country that does not match your Adobe ID. You can try signing in with a different Adobe ID or get in touch with us if you need help." What should I do?

Did you purchase the software in another country than where you live?

  • No audio with HDMI cable connect - need optical cable?

I have just connected my AppleTV 2 with my Pioneer ELITE 910 HD Plasma TV system.  I have a hard wire ether net connected.  I have a great picture coming out of the HDMI connection from AppleTV plugged into my ELITE 910 HDMI Media Receiver.  But I am not hearing audio.  I have gone through the 'settings' menu on the AppleTV screen and have every setting correct (I believe)   It might appear that I may have to purchase an Optical Digital Audio Cable that would input into my Pioneer ELITE VSX-54TX receiver (that does have an Optical Digital Input that has not been used.)
Am I on the right track?  I was hoping the video AND audio would travel through the HDMI connection.   I don't want to spend money on the cable if I don't need it.

Re: No audio with HDMI cable connect - need optical cable?
Yes, audio and video should go via HDMI.
Do other peripherals work ok with the pioneer over HDMI.
My LG BlueRay player works fine.  My TIVO works fine -- good audio and video
AppleTV is a bit odd with audio at times.
Does the pioneer media box handle doilby digital and linear PCM?
I don't know what "linear PCM" is.  All the specs on this 2004 system are here:
    http://plasmatvbuyingguide.com/plasmatv/pioneer-pro910hd.html
If you have Dolby Digital set to Auto I'd expect you to get some audio - if set to On and media box can't decode DD then you may get no sound.
Try cycling those settings as well as the one for audoo bit depth.
Have done all this.  Still no audio

  • No audio with Sony cybershot mpeg imports

Can anybody help? When I import my sony cybershot digital camera mpegs into any video application (ie. imovie, final cut, final cut express) I get no audio. The video clips DO play in quicktime with audio. They also replay properly with web applications. I thought my camera may be corrupting files somehow , but my girlfriends sony videos behave the same as mine. There is no audio track imported with the video clips into Final Cut!

I believe this might be a proprietary thing that allows Quicktime Pro to open and play the clips, but will not edit it or export it with the audio. In QT Pro, you don't see the edit arrows and exporting it into a DV format does not export the audio with the video. So, it begs the question. Are Sony and QuickTime in cahoots about this, or what? Does iMovie 08 import it properly? I only have iMovie 06 HD. I'm surprised that the Cybershot people I've read in the different forums and the one I'm dealing with do not have an app that will edit this stuff! What are we missing here QuickTime and Sony people. Are Cybershot being clipped of their movie clips?

  • Iphoto update is messed how, i do i fix it. Photos that i try to sync aren't showing up in my "Last Import" or "Last Month" What's wrong with it? I need help a.s.a.p

please i need help on this. I really need to fix this

Remember: we cannot see your machine. There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 8 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS.  So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Basic things like :
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For instance: 'iPhoto won't export' is best explained by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted?
    - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.
Posts that consist of "iPhoto doesn't work. Help" or "iPhoto won't print" or "Suddenly I have no photos!!!!!!!!!!" mean that any helper is simply guessing. More information means you get better assistance.

  • Problem with changing flash content - Need help

I need help in changing  the flash content. Here is my proble,
    1) I bought a flash template (I will call this Original) from a website and paid some money to customize my menu, logo and background color.
    2) After they finished it they sent me several files. Like 1) index.html, .swf, psd, .fla. In all the files .html,.swf (the video) and .psd I am seeing my customize changes (logo, menu and background color). But the .fla file they sent me is still shows everything from original template. It doesn't have my logo, menu or background color.
    3) I asked their technical support and they walk me through. a) Open the .fla file in flash pro. b) Change the content c) Hit Ctrl+Enter and it will export the new .swf file to the flash folder. d) Make sure I delete the video from flash folder and replace the name with the one I created.
I did all these steps. But the problem is the .SWF that i generated is showing everything from the orignal template. It did change the content but I don't see any of my customize request. (Menu, logo or color)
    4) Then I open the index.html and I DID NOT see any of the changes in the content.
My feeling is they did not provide me the correct .FLA file. I really need your help.
My confusion is a) Have they provide me the correct .FLA file or I am doing something wrong. b) When I generated the new .swf video and renamed it properly why it didn't reflect in the index.html file.
I am really going back and forth with them since last 15 days and its not going anywhere. I really appreciate any help.
    Thanks,
    Jessy

Unfortunately, if you have not enough knowledge about using Flash, and do not want to pay to have this done for you, the folks who did this for you are likely going to be the only ones who can help you resolve it.  They should be able to provide the edited fla and the new swf if they are in any way a credible/reliable business.... which at this point sounds like they are not.

  • 30p with a Canon XA10 - need help with Final Cut 7 "FIELD DOMINANCE" setting and an explanation of "drop frames". Thank you!!

I shot footage using a Canon XA10 and there are issues with the HD quality not looking as crisp as it should.  I am trying to make sure the settings in Final Cut are right.  Need help confirming what should be in "Field Dominance" --- have seen discussions about making sure it's set to "none" but I'm confused as to what to do.
Also someone suggested I use "drop frames" to change from 30p to 24p within Final Cut.  He couldn't explain how to do it so any input appreciated as well as any thoughts on whether this is a good option to try.

If you're shooting 30p, field dominance should be set to none.   Since you need to use log and transfer to bring this material in to fcp, I would assume it would be set correctly automatically.  Are you sure you've set the camera properly?
Drop frames will not change 30 p to 24p.   Dropframe timecode simply refers to the number assigned to each frame which drops an occasional number (not any frames) so the timecode duration is the actual duration, since 30p videoi is actually 29.97 frames per second which each frame assigned a timecode number.
This is very basic video stuff and requires some basic knowledge of video.  Wikipedia is a pretty good resource for much of this stuff plus there are lots of great resources on the web.  Look up interlaced and progressive video, 24p and 30p.
And as far as judging quality, you can only get an accurate view of the quality in fcp when you have a video card attached to a video monitor.  The viewer and canvas are only an approximation of what the quality is.  Minimally, set the canvas or viewer to 100% to get a better approximation of the quality.

  • Problem with Quicktime...need help...

I used to visit "VirusRadio.com" frequently and listen to old Opie and Anthony shows online, and never had a problem. Here lately (after installing XP Pro, I've noticed) I've been totally unable to stream content off this website. When I had Home Edition, I just downloaded quicktime and this site loaded perfectly, yet this isn't so on XP Pro. Maybe some of my firewall/Internet settings aren't correct, or maybe it's a quicktime issue...but I need help. I'm losing my mind trying to figure this out. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

These software conflicts could be due to some inconsistency the Leopard upgrade caused in the System folder. Doing a clean "Archive & Install" of Leopard will probably fix your problems.

  • Problem with Logic/external HardDisk - NEED HELP!

    Hi Everybody
I've got a big problem with my Logic Projects. I am recording Songs with my band and it's all 24bit, 96 KHz. With more than about 20 Tracks playing simultaneously, Logic shows an error that the disk is too slow.
For all the Audio stuff, I am using an external LaCie HardDisk, 250GB, FW800. Buffers are on the highest setting in Logic, and the "Larger Disk Buffer" Option is turned on.
In the Terminal, I watched the Disk usage by typing "top -d", and with 20 Tracks playing, it shows a Disk read of about 6000KB/s. This is well within the FW800 Standard! When I copy a file from that HardDisk to another one, Terminal shows a disk read of about 25'000KB/s, so nothing seems to be wrong with the disk itself. I guess it must be a Logic problem.
Can anybody help me or does anyone have the same problem? Any help is greatly appreciated... Thanks!
(I am using Logic Pro 7.1.1)

    Hello,
This is something I have experience with. If you want to you can go here to see my full set-up.
    www.KenosisStudios.com
    I am in a pro scenerio where I often need and use 50-60 tracks simult. at 24/96khz. I used to use a Glyph rack with 7200rpm drives and when I started out I spent unreal time on the phone with Emagic, Apple, Sweetwater, and Glyph tech support to try every option of getting ProTools HD results out of my track count. I am no tech guru, so don't live by my words alone, but my personal experience states the following;
I tried raiding the drives, splitting tracks to seperate drives for playback, you name it. The bottom line is this, your problem is not, as you know, with the bandwidth of your bus. It is the speed of your drives. Were you to have 10krpm or 15krpm drives you would immediately see a difference. Yes bandwidth and all sorts of techy stuff comes into play, but by and large this is what you need to address.
What I ended up doing was this- I started using the outboard drive for back-ups and other outboard drives for my sample libraries. I installed in the G5 second drive slot a 7200rpm Seagate Sata drive and strictly track just to it.
Doing this alone got my track count to the 50-60track, 24/96khz scenerio I use today.
My advise, depending on how big you need the drive to be, do the research on what 10krpm and 15krpm internal Sata drives are dependable and go with that. Of course the faster the rpm the smaller the drive, so just look at a good balance for your situation. If you must go external, again, the faster the better, and going Sata will do you better than FW, etc.
I hope this is of use to you.

  • Audio Units Looper...need HELP

I'm trying to find a suitable solution for Live Looping.......
Anybody using the "AU Looper "downloadable from the developer page.
Its in the core audio sdk....I dont understand why its not in the stock collection.
Its a brilliant little plugin...great feature set...but I cant seem to get it to work properly.
It wont load int Logic xpress! gives an error message.
Loads into Ableton live 5.2 but acts funky.
And I cant even get AU LAb running...keeps crashing after the plugins load.
    ANYBODY????

    Bellissimo,
I haven't tried running SooperLooper inside Live, and I haven't dug very deeply into SL's architecture... but lack of knowledge never stopped me from trying to give advice
From my brief encounters, it appears that when SL runs as an AU, it really doesn't need the SL app at all. The SL app just functions as a GUI tool to control and configure things, so if you use MIDI to control SL, you can use the AU version without ever firing up the SL app. But I'm guessing that the AU component runs in conjunction with a SL "engine" of some sort, and that association gets made automatically.
When I run SL from Logic, all I have to do is insert the AU plug-in, select the SL app from inside that plug-in, and it just works. Whatever "engine" gets started, it happens automatically, as does the connection between the AU and the engine. Using MIDI control adds another layer of complexity, but if you just want to get SL working by pressing buttons on the GUI app, I don't think you need any kind of network (or MIDI) connectivity (all "networking" is taking place internally to your computer, so it has nothing to do with LAN or Internet or anything like that).
Maybe SL simply doesn't work with Live 5.2 ? I don't know. There's a SL mailing list that might help out:
