No authorization to maintain usage

Hi experts,
recently, when I try to change the usage of a value assignment, a warning of 'No authorization to maintain usage' will show in the bottom of the screen.
could you please help me on this, thanks!

Run "SU53" transaction immediately after getting "'No authorization to maintain usage' " error.. ,
See which authorization is missing, give the missing authorizations, save and generate the profile.
If other authorization error occure, repeat the process.

Hi Gamad,
I am assuming you are using the SAP delivered distribution model with the standard filters.
01) Check the distribution model for the infotype 0006 and sybtype 0001
02) Maintain the address subtype 0001 in the HR record in ECC
03) Check the BP number range and T77s0 table entries.
04) Check the authorizations of the RFC user.
05) Execute PFAL in the insert mode with the evaluation path P-S-O. (for the first time)
I am not sure regarding OSS notes as we have done this SRM 5.0 and ECC 6.0 with out applying any notes few years back. It has to work.

I call this from a workflow but i get this error on return "No Authorization to maintain absence 0004".
What kind of error is that.
I make an absence from pa61 for this employee without errors.

Have done locking of employee before calling the BAPI? After that unlocking should be done ofcourse and check the BAPI if you need to do add the commit statement.

Hi,
For WCD Usage u can have further controls given in customizing.
But u can hide Usage in WA and WCA, if its not used. But at application level u can use it for various types of permits, which u can use as the triggering point for printouts.

As Dhilipan pointed out, this is purely a Securities/Basis Issue and requires concerned authorization to be added to the user Id being used. Please go to the Transaction code SU53 and check for the missing object message their and get that added in the User Id role/profile.

Authorization Error in Usage Decision tcode

Hi All,
While giving the UD for an inspection lot, our user is getting an authorization error where in a different plant other than the plant related to the inspection lot and other master data is related.
I do not know if anything has gone wrong. Did anyone come across such an issue?

This is exactly the correct solution.
I believe you have done this setting in your inspection type which prevert Selected sets of other plant to pop up while doing the UD .
SPRO > QM > Quality Inspection > Inspection Lot Creation > Maintain Inspection Types > Inspection Types > Tick in Selected set in the same plant

Authorization to maintain critical combinations / authorizations

It seems like there should be an easy answer to this, so pardon me if I've missed the obvious.
I've been looking into transaction RSUSR008_009_NEW (List of users with critical combinations), but when I click either the "Critical Combinations" or "Critical Authorizations" buttons at the top, I get a "No Authorization" error. What authorization do I need to maintain the critical combinations?

Thanks.. that was the first thing I did when I got the error, but the result was meaningless. Having just tried it again though, the results were more useful. Can't imagine what I did wrong last time.
Anyway, the SU53 indicates I need t-code VCUSRVARCOM_DISP.. but I imagine there's more to it than that. I found a few possibilities:
SU_VCUSRVARCOM_CHAN - Maintain View Cluster VCUSRVARCOM
SU_VCUSRVARCOM_DISP - Display View Cluster VCUSRVARCOM
SU_VCUSRVAR_CHANGE - Maintain View Cluster VCUSRVAR

Hierarchy Authorization Aggregate (:)

There is a thread for this question in Bex discussion but this issue is not entirely belong to Bex so I am duplicating here also.
I have successfully set up the Cost Center Hierarchy Node variable using authorization in our BI environment. One last issue I am facing is following.
When the data appears for a user who has access to 4 out of 10 cost centers in a hierarchy node, the summarized node data is showing the totals for all the cost centers included in the node. User would like to see the subtotal of only the cost centers they have authorization for. Of course the reason aggregated values are displayed is due to the : authorization provided for Cost Center in AA object, what I am wondering is if there are any other alternatives of ":" to force the query aggregate only the values from Authorization Hierarchy Node variable. Although SAP note 727354 suggests the following
A colon authorization is not taken into account when you use a
variable of the type "Fill from authorization", since it is not known at the
time of the variable processing whether or not the affected characteristic is in
the drilldown.
I do have Authorization Hierarchy Node variable for Cost Centers in use but still the hierarchy node displays the summarized values for all the cost centers. I am hoping someone has run into this issue before me and there is a solution.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Following is what I received from SAP, although disappointing but it is I what I thought too.
Suggestion is not to use hierarchy node variable and replace with single values.
Well the reason of choosing the hierarchy node variable was a business requirement. So I have delivered the news to business and now it will be up to them to go ahead with what comes from SAP by default (Total for all cost centers in the node regardless of user authorization) with the usage of hierarchy node or go in another direction...

Since the user is authorized for the TOP node, he's able to see the
aggregated values of non-authorized cost centers, although these nodes
are not authorized. Please notice that this is not an error. The
system behaviour is as designed.
If you don't want to have the aggregated values in the nodes, please
try to change your query-design and filter according to "single
values" instead of "nodes" in the authorization variable.

Go to transaction pfcg & search for your standard marketing business role, then under authorization tab you can see all authorization objects maintained under "display authorization data". Edit the objects for your fields to suit your requirements...

CRM-BP maintenace authorizations

Hi All,
I am working on a issue where the business needs us to control the maintenace activity the users can do/have with BP maintain role.
They just want the user to be able to change the only 1,2 fields of a BP not the entire BP data.
The fields we want to change are the alternate delivery address .
We got a missing object B_BUPA_RLT with ACTVT 02 ,but it seems with this users can change entire BP data .
I am seeking help ..do we have any object through which we can only make as few fields modifiable and other should be display.

as of my knowledge, it depends on the BP master data object, as a matter of fact, for instance, for Customer Master data there's the authorization object F_KNA1_AEN (Customer: change authorization for certain field), which, after the proper customizing settings, allows granting users the authorization to maintain only the desired fields of the Customer Master data. Such an object, unfortunately, does not exist for all the master data: it would be very useful for instance in Material Master.

Authorization control for 2, T-codes at a same role

Hi all I need your professional support
When we execute the PV00 t-code and try to Create Attendance and it will allow the user to create it by going to PA40 which should not allowed and this has to be blocked.
But in the same user under a different role, PA40 is also attached and we have to keep it available to the user.
If I specify more about this issue, under HR role we have assigned PA40, for 5 personal areas and for another role we have assigned 20 personal areas for PV00, so if the same user try to click on the Create Attendance it will give 20 personal areas access through PA40 , which we have to block it some how. Through PV00, should not allow the user to access PA40 transaction. I tried through authorization which I couldnt control.
We are using role based authorization. Please advice me how to resolve this issue.

what about restric access to one of the transactions at the role level. If you are using the role based approach for authorizations it should be based on the derived role concept.
Basically you'll have a master role with as many derivations as the organization requires. The menu structure and transaction assignment willl be maintained at the Master role level which does not have any authorization profile. The authorizations are maintained at the derived role level.
In other words your security concept will be based on transaction+Object access control following the derived approach.
Consider running Virsa reports to identify security overlaps, and SOD breaches.

Dep.req. with usage probability

Dear guru's,
We try to setup a working variant configurator, but we are not able to get the dependent requirements right.
We use planning strategy 56, we have a superbom with all possible components, the BOM items have a selection condition based on class 200.
We also have a configuration profile and a planning profile. IN MD61 we are able to enter the usage probabilities.
The result however is disappointing: the planned orders generated by MRP show that the full qty is passed on to the components instead of the part as defined in the usage probablity.
Any thoughts? Your help will be greatly appreciated!

SAP requires that "In order to maintain usage probabilities, you must flag them as relevant for planning in the planning profile"
When you activate a combination value key in the planning profile, the characteristic associated with the combination value key is considered during demand planning.
Once you have marked the required char. as relavant for Characteristics planning the model should work.

Authorization Issue in creating HR Master data through PA40

Hi,
I am facing an issue while creating HR master data thru PA40. On the first screen, I select Action Type Hire, put personnel area IN01,EE Group 1, EE Subgroup N2 and Execute. It takes me to the next screen. there I put all the information required i.e., Personeel No., Start date, Title, Last name, First name, Date of Birth, Action Type (Hire), Reason of Action 06, position 40208, Personnel Area In01, Personnel Sub area 0001. when I save it, It gives me an error No Authorization to maintain Actions 01 exists I have SAP_ALL.
Any idea why this error is coming?? Same setting is running fine in another client.

On the same screen where error is coming type tcode-SU53 this will display if still some object is missing for authorisation.Then give that object to your basis guy to include in ur role.
