No Authorization to Songs I Purchased

I used to have a PC that the whole family used, and then for my birthday I got a Macbook for myself, and I transfered all my music from iTunes on the PC to my Macbook, and updated my iPod and everything. This was in May. Today when I went to sync my iPod to my computer again, it told me that 100 songs were no copied. I looked at the songs and my computer doesn't let me play them. It's because before we used to use my mom's email address for the account on the PC, but I made a new account for my Macbook, and now I cant play the music that had been purchased with my mom's account, even if I give the correct password. What can I do?

Open iTunes on your MacBook. In the Menu, click Store/Authorize Computer.
That should take care of that. If not, in iTunes, from the Menu, click Store/View My Account.
Click: Purchase History. When that window opens, scroll to the bottom of the page and click where it says: Report A Problem.

How can I authorize itunes songs purchased with ID that no longer exists?

I bought an Macbook Pro and am transferring all the songs I bought from
my old laptop to the Macbook. Some of the songs were purchased from
itunes using two different apple IDs that don't exist anymore. I tried to
authorize the Macbook to play these songs using the old ID and password but it
doesn't work (I'm pretty certain I have the correct passwords but it is possible they are wrong). Please don't tell me I can't listen to these songs

I have exactly the same problem! When I try to play a song purchased under an old Apple ID (before I moved to Japan), I get: "This computer is not authorized to play "(song title)". Would you like to authorize it? To play this song you must authorize this computer to play songs purchased using the account "(my OLD Apple ID)". You may authorize up to 5 computers for each account."
I tried to authorize the song using my OLD Apple ID and password, but it didn't work because that Apple ID no longer exists. The weird thing is that after trying to authorize a song with my NEW Apple ID, the computer tells me I have successfully authorized it but then the song won't play and I get the same Authorize Computer dialogue box popping up again when I click the play button or double-click the song title.
It's VERY frustrating!

Account is a user neame and password with which you purchase content.
A library is your collection of media.

When I try to recover the password from Apple, it of course wants to send an email to the account I can't get into, and when I try to do the security questions, it says my DOB is incorrect. How can that be wrong?! I am pretty sure I know my exact birthdate. Now I can't listen to a bunch of my music.

iTunes Store- Authorize or deauthorize your Mac or PC.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.

Can't Play Songs I Purchased

Hi guys,
A long time ago I purchased songs on iTunes with an old Apple ID. Then I bought a new computer, transferred the songs I purchased and I was able to play them (I don't know what I did because I already had my new apple ID at this time). I recently formatted my laptop, put my music back and when I try to listen to my songs I purchased a while ago, a window pops up asking me to identify myself. The problem is it shows my old Apple ID that does not exist anymore. I click "Forgot Password" then it takes me to the Apple website, says that this Apple ID expired and ask me to put the new one. I do, it works. But back into iTunes, I still can't play those songs cause it will ask me to authorize my computer to play them, again.
What can I do?

Can't authorize some songs after last update

After the last software update (most recent) I am getting an error that Itunes can't authorize 53 songs and one game for my computer to be played on my ipod. (3rd gen)
These songs were purchased on my powerbook. Some were even loaded off of a CD. I also can't figure out why the game peggle I bought can't authorize.
any thoughts?

iPhoto 9.6 only runs on Yosemite.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

ITunes won't let me play songs I purchased

Hello,
I am trying to play music in my iTunes that I had purchased via my AOL account, and iTunes will not let me play them. The screen comes up to sign in with my member ID and it will not let me access the song. Prior to today, I never had this problem as I got rid of AOL and now have a new Apple Id. Does anyone know why itunes is not letting me play prior songs that I purchased from another account?

I'm having the same problem. I had an earthlink account ages ago, and made my first purchases with this account. Now I can't play any of the music I purchased with that old account - according to my last iPod update, that's 86 songs, and I really don't want to type in my new authorization info 86 times.
My earthlink account has been dead for years. This issue just showed up. I think it may be related to the iTunes 7.x upgrade.
Can someone please tell us how to tell iTunes to authorize all purchases made with an old account? Requiring us to re-authorize one song at a time is amateur. I expect more from Apple.

Why do i continue to be told to authorize a song after I have authorized it?

I continue to be told to authorize a song after doing so. Itunes tells me the song is already authorized for the computer and continues to repeat itself. Does anyone know what i am doing wrong and why I keep repeating this step getting nowhere?

Delete the song from your library including the file. Then go to the iTunes Store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the right. Go to Music tab to re-download again

Can not authorize some songs

I am trying to play some songs on my mac that were purchased through a previous itunes account. They have worked in the past, all of a sudden they will not play anymore. It asks me to authorize the account each time. The songs were purchased under an old account that I no longer have. When I try to use my old password to authorize through that account it says invalid password/username. I tried to go and retrieve my password for that old account but when I do that it tells me that it is an invalid account. I no longer have that old e-mail and I do not know what to do next. I tried de-authorizing an re-authorizing but that did not help. Please help. I paid for the music and I just want to play it.

ITunes won't play song I purchased. Say's Computer not Authorized

I just bought 9 songs in a row on iTunes using the same account. 8 of the songs play without problem, but whenever I try to play the 6th song I purchased, I get a message saying that my computer is not authorized to play the song and asks me to enter my Apple ID and password to authorize it. I've entered my Apple ID and password 10 times now. Every time I get a message saying that I've authorized 3 out of the 5 devices I'm allowed to authorize and then it proceeds to play the next song on the playlist, NOT the one I'm trying to play. When I try to play it, I get that same error message saying I need to authorize it - even though I just did so. Beyond being out the $1.29 and feeling a bit scammed, I'm pretty frustrated at this point. What gives? Anyone know what the issue is and how to fix it?

My computer is asking me to authorize a song, but when I authorize is says it is already authorized, but yet the file does not play. How do I fix this?

It is possible that the song have been purchased using another account. Performing a get info on the song will allow you to see in the summary from which account it has been bought. Make sure you authorize the related account too in order to play the song.
