No "back to school" promotion on new iPods :(

I just called Apple, and am sorry to discover the "Back to School" promotion for educators and students has effectively ended 4 days early, as none of the new iPods are eligible for the promotion.
Incidently, I'm sorrier to discover how rude the phone rep was... I understand it's a heavy call volume day for Apple, but there's no excuse for the sort of haughy condescension I got, being interrupted with: "no way. no way. there's no way Apple would ever give a new product like that away. you should know that..."
It's a good thing the technology does a good job selling itself.

Two questions...I assume from your post that they no longer have the older Nanos in stock that are eligible for the promotion? And, what about the Apple stores? Do they sell out old stock, or would they also only have the new models available?
If the older models aren't available at all through normal education channels (which for many means only directly from Apple), I find it extremely annoying that they advertised the promotion until the 16th and then pulled them. That's very poor form.

Have the photos been taken with the iPad or have the photos been synced to the iPad Air? Photos synced with iTunes to iOS devices cannot be synced back. See this link: iOS: Syncing photos using iTunes
If the photos have been synced to the iPad Air, you need an external app as JimHDK recommended. Or mail the photos, which will be tedious. To delete them from the iPad after transferring them, sync again with iTunes, but select no folders to sync.
If the photos have been taken with the iPad Camera, you can connect the iPad Air to your Mac using a USB cable and then to launch Image Capture or iPhoto to transfer the photos. But that will not transfer synced photos.

I purchased a MacBook Air at Sep,12 with educational offer on Apple online store. Should I get a FREE $100 gift card?
I checked my Invoice Receipe, there is some thing I didn't understand.
I try to call 1-800-676-2775, they said the transaction just appered on the receipe, but they will not charge it. However, when I received my credit card bill, there is a transaction for $100 on it. I checked on the online bank also, there is also an transaction on it.
What can I do? One of my classmate has same issue.

duh, no... it's me. Given the amounts for each item listed on the invoice, there didn't appear to be a $100 discount. However, going back to the Apple online store, and configure the BTO options I ordered, I now see that the total is exactly $100 more than what they charged. So, they took the money from the cost of the Macbook Pro. All's well. Well, except that I'm still waiting for the gift card to get through Canada Post! ;-)

Back to School Promotion

I know it’s a long shot, but I was very frustrated to buy myMac, excited for college, only to find a few weeks later they have an offerthat gives college students $100 to the Mac App Store. I know it may seemchildish to find this unfair but I feel I am being punished for buying my Mac quickly.
If there is any way possible that I could receive this, I would be completely ecstatic. My family’s been loyal Mac customers for manyyears and I know if anyone treats their customers well, it is Apple.
Does anyone know of anyway to still get this?

It works fine for a few days and then does the same thing again. How do I fix this? She got it for Christmas last year. We don't want to spend the next few years doing this twice a week. If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

If i buy a new ipod touch now, can i exchange it for the new version?

I am gonna get a new ipod touch 8GB as part of the education deal when buying an imac before the 7th sept. I am wondering if i can exchange it for one of the new ones when they are announced and in stores a week or two later? If i bought a macbook pro in store or online i know i can exchange it within 30 days (by paying a price difference to the new model) or get a discount (if the prices for the old model went down within 30 days of me purchasing).
Would this apply to the ipod touch too, if i get it through the education store?

Sorry, but the iPod touch from the Back-To-School promotion could not be returned nor exchanged. The promotion is actually a rebate (unless you're referring to a promotion other than in the US); you choose your qualifying iPod model and purchase it, and will then get a rebate back of up to $199 (it varies depending on the model of iPod you choose).
The US promotion applies only to specific iPod models and expires on September 7th, so it would not apply to any iPod model released after that date. For the full terms, see:

Back to school education program question

I bought my macbook pro 2 weeks ago. I live in UK and a friend will bring it in a month for me from the us. When Ill first use the computer probably the back to school promotion will start. Is the promotion valid from the day that I buy the computer or from the day I first use it.?

It only applies to purchases made while the promotion is ongoing or within the promotion window (which I don't know as its not currently active but its not usually more than 30 days if memory serves).

Under the terms and conditions they say "Products not listed in this chart are ineligible for a rebate". So does that mean that the core 2 counts?

Save all the photos from your Droid into a folder on your computer.
Connect your device to your computer. On iTunes left Pane, select iPhone under 'Devices'; then on the right Pane, select PHOTO tab. Make sure Sync Photo box is checked, and "from" box selected the folder that has Droid's photos. Then click the SYNC or APPLY button on the lower right window.

Hard drive crashed and has been fixed/replaced, now I have new ipod, log in on itunes, and my library of songs is gone, although I can still see them in my purchase history. How can I get those songs back!?

My computer has crashed several times since I bought my first ipod in 2005. Recently, it crashed so badly that my fella who fixed it just wiped everything off it and reinstalled things. I have a new ipod now and just got my computer back. I log in to itunes, register my ipod, and, its bad enough that everytime my computer crashes and is fixed that itunes thinks I am connecting yet another computer to my account (it believes I have four computers/devices but I have only ever had one ipod and one computer simultaneously),. but on top of that, all my songs listed in my purchase history are not in my library. Hundreds of songs.
How can I download them again? I was told in the Apple Store to deauthorize the computer and reauthorize it and it should begin downloading my previous purchases into my library. I tried that, but to no avail.

It is the users responsibility to maintain a backup of their files.
If you have failed to keep a backup, that is not good.
If the content is on your iDevice and it was purchased via iTunes, connect the device (DO NOT SYNC) then select File > Transfer Purchases.
If the content is on the device but was not purchased via iTunes, you're out of luck mostly. Do a google search, you can find utilities that will allow you to extract the content.
If you are in the US and running iTunes 10.3 or later, there is an option to redownload previously purchased iTunes content. To do this, in iTunes select Purchased, then at the bottom select Download Previously Purchased. There are options for Music, Apps, and iBooks. Select the "Not in My Library" option and download what you want.

Recently got a new iPod Touch 4th gen; I had previously backed up to iCloud and subscribed to iTunes Match, and then wound up syncing the new iPod to my MacBook Pro; all iCloud tunes were downloaded to Mac but won't all sync to the iPod after multiple attempts, despite all songs showing properly on the Mac and multiple syncs occurring after all songs were properly reflected on the Mac. I updated iTunes Match from the iTunes Store menu as well pre-sync.
I should mention that I had previously had the library on a Dell (which is still running) and shared it on my home network. While all iTunes purchases now show in the Dell, the Mac is the device I use for all syncs.
There appears to be no rhyme or reason to the iCloud physical sync failure - some songs were legacy, some were purchased via the PC, some on the old iPod.
The Mac shows all the songs correctly and none show iCloud status -all have been downloaded, but the downloaded songs that were previously showing up as iCloud based aren't syncing to the iPod.
Is there any way to force all music being seen by my iPod as iCloud to download to so I can listen to them offline? Is there a way to force the sync from iTunes?

The "system" performed as designed. All devices syncing to one iCloud account are kept in common sync. The idea is that all such devices belong to one user. Different users should have different iCloud accounts. Once your contacts were edited, all devices were updated as well and subsequent backups (from yours and her device) reflected the changed contacts (and any other data that may have been edited like calendars). Your first task is to change your daughter over to a new account before she makes other changes.
The only way I see for getting back contacts is to restore them from a time machine backup, assuming you also have a Mac included in the account which syncs the contacts. However, I'm not sure whether time machine includes contacts from iCloud along with those that are local, "on my Mac".
Otherwise the deleted contacts are gone.

Apple sent me a new iPod touch to replace the one that stopped working. The new one has the same problem as the old one. Should I send it back?

I bought an iPod touch 4th genertion in August 2013. About 3 weeks ago, iTunes told me an update was available for my iPod so I clicked update. It then said it had detected an iPod in recovery mode and I had to restore my iPod. I tried to restore it when another pop up appeared saying an unkown error occured and it was unable to restore my iPod. I talked to someone on the online help page and they said I needed to talk to someone on the phone because it was too complicated to explain. The first person I spoke to on the phone could not identify my problem so she got her supervisor who said I needed to send it in for repair. I sent it in and yesterday I received a brand new iPod in the mail with a letter saying they could not fix my old iPod and this was a replacement. I plugged the new iPod into my computer to restore it and everything was fine. It said my software was not up to date so I clicked update and the exact same thing happened with the new ipod. It told me to restore my iPod and then said it was unable to be restored. They replacement arrived yesterday. Should I send it back?

What is the exact wording of the error message? It may be that there is a problem with your computer and is causing the problem, not a problem with the iPod.
