No backlight on led screen

Hey,
I have a HP pavilion dv6-3000so Notebook PC, and it works just fine, but I got a problem with the backlight on my LED screen. The PC was in the rain, and after that my screen had no backlight. So I opened my laptop to check the motherboard and about 1cm/a halv inch from the screen connector I found a "smoked" or "burned" fuse or resistance. It says "CB83" right by it's side. Please help me

Sorry to hear about your notebook. Rain and electronics aren't the best of friends.
If you can clearly see a burned out capacitor on the motherboard you're looking at a hardware issue. The motherboard is not a part that you can easily change. Not that it can't be done, but after changing a motherboard the product and serial numbers need to be cloned to the device to allow the recovery to be run. IMac backlight OR LED Screen Panel Problem.

So for about 6 months now i've noticed these 'smudge marks' people have been talking about behind the glass screen in my iMac 27" which is a late 2011 model (about 13/14 months old) and was bought new fro the iMac store.
Then about 6 weeks ago i started having problems with what i thought was the backlight. After 5 minutes or so of being on my iMac, the screen would all dim a little and sometimes flicker for a fw seconds until it halted at a certain level of brightness (which i couldnt make brighter with the brightness volume buttons.) It became more frequent over the weeks and some times went completely black but i waited to take it into Apple because i live in Leeds UK and i knew there was a new Apple store being opened (Thursday 21st March 2013). Normally i would have to travel to the Meadowhall Centre (Sheffield).
So sure enough, i went in on the open day and they took in my iMac telling me it was the backlight. They quoted me £109 including VAT whih i was willing to pay. I had a phonecall today 25/3/13 from the store telling me they had replaced the backlight and the problem was still occouring so they would need to replace the LED Panel. I was also told this would cost me over £300 + VAT! No way can i afford to pay that and i'm probably not alone when i say it took me long enough to save for the iMac itself! Theres obviously a serious issue with the backlights and LED Panels of iMacs dating back since before the iMac models first came about. I don't smoke, one of the 'Geniuses' in the Apple store even commented on how well it had been looked after, there are no radiators near my studio, it is very well ventillated and isnt over used, so this obviously isnt a case of not looking after it propely. I don't understand why i have to pay over £300 if this is a MAJOR fault with apples product and not mine. Tomorrow i have to pick up my iMac (still broken) and simply work with the problem which i'm pretty sure soon, will be almost impossible if the screen continues to go black and fail on me.

Why have Apple not done anything about this fault since it's been going on years now?
Why should i have to pay over £300 to fix APPLES FAULT.
And finally, has anyone here won an argument similar to this that were out of warranty and not had to pay?

Some have paitiently worked their way through Applecare to get to a point where you can ask to speak to a customer service rep, & some have gotten satisfaction that way.
On the LCD, I wonder if it isn't that LCD cable problem...

Spill Cleaning
Some liquid has just spilled into your Mac. What should you do?
Do
Immediately shut down the computer and unplug the power cord.
Remove the computer's battery (if you can)
Disconnect any peripherals (printers, iPods, scanners, cameras, etc.)
Lay the computer upside down on paper towels to get as much liquid as possible to drip out.
Note what was spilled on your Mac.
Bring the computer into an Apple store or AASP as soon as possible.
Don't
Don't try to turn it back on. Liquids can help electrical current move about the components of your Mac in destructive ways.
Don't shake the computer (this will only spread the liquid around).
Don't use a hair dryer on it (even at a low setting a hair dryer will damage sensitive components).

Question: T400 LED Screen Resolution Limited to WXGA?

Lenovo's website (US) is now only showing the following screen options for the T400:
14.1 WXGA TFT, w/ CCFL Backlight, Camera
14.1 WXGA+ TFT, w/ CCFL Backlight, Camera [add $30.00]
14.1 WXGA TFT, w/ LED Backlight, Camera [add $50.00]
14.1 WXGA TFT High Nit, w/ LED Backlight [add $120.00]
14.1 WXGA TFT High Nit, w/ LED Backlight, Camera [add $150.00]
Does anyone know why the LED screen is limited to WXGA and not WXGA+?
I'm looking to replace my T40p, and I'm not willing to go down in screen resolution.

Since itunes 2.0.4 has been downloaded. My ipod doesn't synchronize properly/ at all.The LED screen shows "copy 1 or 2 from 101" and it will remain like that. It looks like sync but there's nothing to happen. It doesn't stop by it self. How to solve?

I have exactly the same issues with my new 80G iPOD. I have found that when connecting to my PC, the iPOD does not start iTUNES 7. This can be resolved by stopping the iPOD Service in Computer Management, connecting the iPOD and then starting it again. Seems like a stupid long-winded way to do things, but at least you can get some stuff on to your iPOD.
As far as using Restore goes - I just get the restoring iPOD message you described, which it blatantly isn't :((

Yes. Any standalone display which can be connected to a Mini DisplayPort, with or without an adapter, can be plugged into a Thunderbolt port without any additional adapters.

Stains in my imac led screen

I have my 21.5 Intel core 2 Duo nearly a year now and I have noticed stains not on but in the led screen and also some stains appearing in the centre of screen, from what I can see the fault is in the led screen, can anyone help. thank you

MacBookPro5,1 LED screen flicker on either graphics card on lowest brightness setting. Definitely noticeable and annoying when using the lowest power settings to extend battery life during school usage. Has been happening since I got the machine.
Also new out of the box the screen isn't aligned properly with the base of the unit. Like it got knocked around during manufacture, anyone have this issue?
Also my serial number does not show up in Apple's systems as a sold machine even though I have a proof of purchase. I called 800 APL CARE to resolve the issue, they were looking into it and haven't gotten back to me either, this was weeks ago....

Your underpowered system may get by if you edit SD DV material, but is way out of its league when editing AVCHD or Red or DSLR material.
Without further info to go on, you have the following problems:
Not enough memory
No dedicated nVidia video card
Insufficient PSU
No hard disks
About the only thing good about your system is the CPU, but there it ends. Everything else needs to be improved. How much depends on your source material, your workflow, your destination format and all those data were severely missing.

The backlight of my screen doesn't on,the phone systerm is working, and unter the sunlight I can see the icons on the screen. I restored my phone and upgraded to ios 4.3.2 . The funny thing is the backlight was on while retoring,after that off again.

Your issue does sound like a hardware fault although your mention of the backlight working during restore is interesting, the issue could perhaps be related to software on the phone causing this.
The best thing to do to check is to restore your iPhone and set up as a new device, when you complete the restore ensure you turn the automatic syncing OFF and perhaps name your phone Test iPhone to avoid confusion with any other backups.
Then test to see how its operating, if the issue remains then might be time to book in for a Genius appointment at an Apple Store.

Unfortunately, since an unauthorized party opened it, Apple won't have anything to do with it at all. It's not eligible for an out of warranty replacement.

Led screen problem

A cracked screen is not a warranty item. The only coverage you might have is accidental damage insurance which you might have purchased from the store. You would remember because it is expensive, adding maybe $150-200 to the price of the laptop. So don't take it to the Service Center. They might charge $300 or more to replace it. You can do it yourself for maybe $125. Post back if you want to know how.

T400 question: get 2765T6U or pay more for LED screen & misc

I'm planning to buy the T400 but got a quick question for you guys. I found the T400 2765T6U at Provantage for about $1200.
Unfortunately, this model only comes with a CCFL screen and a few missing features (multiple card reader for example). I then went to Lenovo and configured the Enhanced T400 model with the features I wanted and ended up with $1400 (after a 10% off coupon).
Do you guys think it's worth it paying $200 for the LED screen, a slightly faster CPU, a bigger HD (though slower), and a 7-1 reader? All the other features are exactly the same as the 2765T6U.

It is like the 2765-T6U but it has LED WXGA+ screen and 9 cell battery.
The only problem is that it is a "special order" so you may have to wait longer for it to ship (as they do not have it ready in inventory).
Try looking at the tabook.pdf for more models. To get tabook, just google "tabook" and download the .pdf from the IBM website.

Scratches on a Samsung LED screen

Is it possible to fix scratches on an LED screen? I have a 60" Samsung Smart TV. Unfortunately my 3 yr old has scratched the screen with something. Any ideas as to how to fix them. They are only visible on very white screens. Not the end of the world, but definitely not something I want to see on my $3000.00 TV
