No backup found

I erased my iPhone and when I sign in online I can see my old content like the notes and contacts but when I try to restore them from the iCloud, it does not show any back up. What do you think is the problem?

Did you ever do an iCloud backup? If not, there will, of course, be no backup. Note that, If you are using iCloud to coordinate contacts and notes, they are not in an iCloud backup.
Have you reattached your iPhone to your iCloud Account to pickup the stored contacts and notes?

  • No old backups found

    Having problems with TM. the Preference panel indicates this: Oldest Backup: None and Latest BackupL None. Problem is, I've been using this TM for more than a year. In other words, it seems as if all of my old backups are gone. i had a problem that indicated "the sparsebundle is in use" and it would not backup at all. REinstalled Airport Utility 5.6, disconnected all users, unplugged the TM, and not things seem to be working, at least the TM software is verifying the backup. Still, no old backups? Suggestions????

    And now, after verifying the backup, it is backing up only 4.25 GB of data from my Machintosn HD, which has maybe 70 GB of files on it.

  • While doing backups, found a strange file ?

    While doing one of my daily backups, I ran into a strange file. Not quite sure what it is for, but I have never seen it there before ?
    I googled without any luck :
                   ( 1 )      ziFAr2Kf
                   ( 2 )      .buildpathUX
    Any ideas ?

    Those are mosted likely some leftover temporary work files that were never cleaned up by the program that created them.
    Very unlikely something to worry about.

  • Rescue and Recovery, unable to do a factory restore, no backup found

    Hi I'm trying to do a factory restore on my T510.  I've done it before but for some reason it's saying it can't find the backup files.
    Any idea on what I should do?

    There1 wrote:
    Nope. lol  Like I said before I restored to factory settings before and I usually just went to rescue and recovery, clicked on don't save anything and factory restore.  I didn't have to insert any type of recovery discs set, do you know why now it's asking me for them?
    I might add that I recently had my T510 sent in for MULTIPLE repairs that were a complete dud.  I have that infamous whine noise smh.  They ended up replacing my hard drive and mistakenly downgraded my OS to 32-bit.  They didn’t know I bought Pro-64 smh.  I told them and showed them that I did purchase 64 when I customized my laptop so they ended up sending me a recovery disc set with the OS and drivers.  I used those to do a factory restore, basically did a clean reinstall right?
    Yeah you should be good. Now would also be a good time to burn another recovery disc set since you can burn one after each restore, this way you will have a backup.

  • How do I replace bookmark bar that was lost when a new Mozilla Fox Start page suddenly appeared with a Zone Alarm Community Toolbar, and nothing I have so far tried, working with "Show all Bookmarks", works ("Unable to process the backup file).

    My current version is 6.0.2. A box appeared a few days ago informing me of an update to 7 (x?). I declined for the time being.
    Then a Start Page just showed up missing the bookmark tool bar. I tried to import a bar from another browser. Nothing showed up. Then, I went to "Help". First, I clicked on "About Firefox" where I was informed of an update. This time, I tried it. When I clicked on "Apply Update", I received a message; 'Update could not be installed" despite there being no other Firefox browsers running.
    I went back to "Help" and clicked on "Firefox Help". A page came up with the URL in place, but the page would not load ("Cannot find server at support.mozilla.com"). After several clicks on "Try Again" with the same result, I copied the URL and pasted it into a different browser, from which I am now working.
    Before sending this question, I tried the two procedures ("Manual Backup" and "Restoring From Backup") found on Bookmarks/Show All Bookmarks/Import And Backup/Restore, using both "stored backups" from Mozilla's Profile folder and "Choose a file", as well as Bookmarks/Show ... /Backup. In each case, the response was, "Unable to process the backup file".
    I had previously tried another method I found on Google which involved copying and saving a Mozilla backup file (this is the file I used in the procedure above - "Choose a File") found in the C:/Documents And Settings/.../Profile Folder, then renaming the original file "backup.HTML" and saving it in a folder one level up from its original location. The Bookmark bar was to show up after shutting down and reopening Mozilla - it never happened. I replaced the original backup file.
    It occurred to me to locate the Bookmark File for this browser (Chrome) and using it in the "Choose a File" method, referred to above. But there is no extension included in the file name, and I was afraid to try it.
    I'm out of ideas. Is there something else to try?

    Check that the Bookmarks Toolbar is visible and that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is still placed on the Bookmarks Toolbar.
    If the menu bar is hidden then press F10 or hold down the Alt key, that should make the "Menu Bar" appear.
    Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
    * Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout" (Linux, Windows)
    * Check that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
    * If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette in the customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
    * If you do not see the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" or other items that are missing in the toolbar palette or on a toolbar then click the "Restore Default Set" button

  • RMAN Recovery Window 7 days setting - shows no obsolete backups

    Hi All. Quick question about RMAN retention policy....
    I have the current backup strategy:
    Full backup (0) -> Sunday
    Incremental backup (1) -> Monday - Saturday
    Archive log backups -> every hour
    This is a new database I just started taking backups on last month. (1st full backup was run October 4th)
    I currently have not deleted any of them.
    The old RMAN RETENTION POLICY was set to REDUNDANCY = 1
    REPORT OBSOLETE lists all of them up to the last full which ran this past Sunday (Nov 1st)
    I just switched the RMAN RETENTION POLICY to RECOVERY WINDOW of 7 DAYS
    REPORT OBSOLETE lists no backups obsolete...
    Shouldn't I see all the backups prior to a week ago or does it only take affect for backups run under the new policy?
    Any help/replies are apprecitaed.
    Thanks

    Ran crosscheck with no problems:
    Crosschecked 200 objects
    But still same results for:
    RMAN> report obsolete;
    RMAN retention policy will be applied to the command
    RMAN retention policy is set to recovery window of 7 days
    no obsolete backups found
    Am I missing something here? Or like I mentioned is this expected behaviour because all of my other backups were run with REDUNDANCY = 1 retention policy?
    Thanks

  • RMAN never deletes archive log backups

    Hi all,
    I have same problem as some of you have already faced.
    I have some instances 10.2.0.4 running un archive log mode.
    I take full hot backup daily.
    I setup a rman script to backup and delete obsolete backups according to the following policy:
    CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO RECOVERY WINDOW OF 2 DAYS;
    CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO REDUNDANCY 2;
    and then:
    run {
    ALLOCATE CHANNEL RMAN_BACK_CH01 TYPE DISK;
    BACKUP AS COMPRESSED BACKUPSET DATABASE FORMAT '/mnt/rman_202/pnetpres/db_pres_%U';
    CROSSCHECK ARCHIVELOG ALL;
    BACKUP AS COMPRESSED BACKUPSET ARCHIVELOG ALL FORMAT '/mnt/rman_202/pnetpres/al_pres_%U';
    CROSSCHECK BACKUP;
    DELETE NOPROMPT OBSOLETE;
    DELETE NOPROMPT EXPIRED BACKUP;
    RELEASE CHANNEL RMAN_BACK_CH01;
    crosscheck archivelog all;
    delete noprompt archivelog all completed before 'sysdate -2';
    DB full backups are being deleted, however archive logs backups are not deleted.
    There are no tablespaces in backup or offline mode.
    How can I know the reason why some archive log backups are kept ?
    Even I clear the policy and perform a crosscheck and delete, those are not marked as obsolete neither deleted from disk.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Fernando,
    This are the ouputpus of the commands:
    RMAN> REPORT OBSOLETE;
    RMAN retention policy will be applied to the command
    RMAN retention policy is set to redundancy 1
    no obsolete backups found

    For example the backups of archivelog from Feb 21st will never be deleted unless I force the delete.
    I'd like to understand why it happens :-)
    Thanks a lot,

    Diego.

  • RMAN report need backup

    We have an incremental level-1 backup Mon-Sat and cold full backup on Sundays with retention policy of 7 days. While troubleshooting some backup issues (space issue, expired backups) I ran the following commands and trying to understand the output.
    RMAN> report need backup database;
    RMAN retention policy will be applied to the command
    RMAN retention policy is set to recovery window of 7 days
    Report of files whose recovery needs more than 7 days of archived logs
    File Days Name
    100 146 /orahprdidx/hprd/psindex05.dbf
    RMAN> report unrecoverable;
    Report of files that need backup due to unrecoverable operations
    File Type of Backup Required Name
    RMAN> report need backup days = 7 database;
    Report of files whose recovery needs more than 7 days of archived logs
    File Days Name
    100 146 /orahprdidx/hprd/psindex05.dbf
    RMAN> report obsolete recovery window of 7 days;
    no obsolete backups found
    RMAN>
    I looks like I need 146 days worth of archive log files to recover the psindex05.dbf. If so, what I could do to bring that into the 7 days policy?
    The database is fine, I am not trying to recover the database.
    This was setup by someone and now I am taking over with minimum RMAN experience.
    I appreciate any help in this subject.

    The datafile was offline. I guess it was created my mistake and hanging in there. Once I do the cleanup it should go away.

  • "Backup cancelled because all files were skipped"

    Hi
    I am performing database backup using the following command:
    run {
    allocate channel c1 device type disk;
    backup incremental level 0 database plus archivelog delete input;
    release channel c1;
    restore database validate;
    upon checking the RMAN logs, it finishes and I can tell that it is a good backup. I can also list the backup pieces that had just been backed up. after this step, i want to backup the flash_recovery_area to tape, i used this command:
    run {
    allocate channel t1 device type sbt;
    BACKUP RECOVERY AREA;
    DELETE OBSOLETE DEVICE TYPE sbt;
    release channel t1;
    when i do this, i get this message from the logs, and i dont see any backups on tape:
    ------LOGS-------
    allocated channel: t1
    channel t1: SID=503 device type=SBT
    channel t1: Oracle Secure Backup
    Starting backup at 23-JUL-11
    Specification does not match any archived log in the recovery catalog
    Specification does not match any datafile copy in the repository
    Specification does not match any backupset in the repository
    backup cancelled because all files were skipped
    Finished backup at 23-JUL-11
    RMAN retention policy will be applied to the command
    RMAN retention policy is set to recovery window of 7 days
    no obsolete backups found
    released channel: t1
    RMAN>
    i dont understand why i am getting this message where in fact, i have archivelog, datafile and backupset backed up in my FRA. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

  • How to reinstall on client from Lion Server Time Machine backup?

    I have a Mac Mini running Lion Server and a black MacBook running Lion. I recently needed to to perform a format and reinstall of the MacBook, so I used the MacBook's Recovery HD partition and reinstalled Lion.  I then went back to Recovery HD to reinstall apps from my Time Machine backup' which is managed by the Lion Server Mac Mini. On first attempt, I saw the right files, but in the process it hung. I recently tried to do it again, and now it claims that there are no backups found.
    My suspicion is that as this is a Lion Server managed backup, it bundles the server backup and the MacBook backup in the same bundle. Revovery HD looks for the latest compete bundle, then finds the matching backup for the MacBook. However, if the Mini is continuing backups of its own, the more recent bundle backups only have mini info, not the MackBook, hence they "disappeared".
    I can see older backups when I look at the backup drive, so I suspect that my MacBook files are still there.
    Any suggestions on how to recover and get my MacBook files reinstalled? I'm new to this home server thing, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Jason

    One partition 2.5TB will be my new Time Machine Backups and the other 2.5TB for iTunes Library so I never have to worry about this again.
    Your worry now is what will you do when the single hard drive containing both your library and its backup makes a screeching sound one day and is toast, or get stolen?
    from a YouTube video
    Uh-oh, those unspecific and sometimes incorrect YouTube videos.  I dislike those things. I watched one once and some kid droned on in a barely audible monotone for about 5 minutes to show how to do something to which I could have typed instructions in two sentences.

  • My last backup is not showing up in iTunes

    My last backup in iTunes is not showing up as an option.   I can see the backup file is still there as I found it under C: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\(file name).  I had to replace my iphone and need to restore it.  Is there a way I can have iTunes restore my iPhone to that last backup found under the MobleSync\Backup?

    Have you backed up the device since last Thursday? If so, every time the iPhone does a backup, it overwrites the last backup. So the most current backup you have made is the one that shows in iTunes.
    Your backup files are in a location on the computer, but you cannot compel iTunes to use it. This support document will show you the location. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946

  • Incremental backup in 10g

    Hi,
    I am using RMAN 10.2.0.3.0
    and target db 10.2.0.3.0
    in nocatalaog mode
    I have scheduled the level 0 backup weekly and level 1 backup daily as below.
    Saturday
    run
    show all;
    backup incremental level 0 database;
    sql 'ALTER SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG CURRENT';
    backup archivelog all;
    report obsolete;
    delete obsolete;
    restore validate database;
    restore validate controlfile;
    exit
    Sunday-Friday
    run
    show all;
    backup incremental level 1 database;
    sql 'ALTER SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG CURRENT';
    backup archivelog all;
    report obsolete;
    delete obsolete;
    restore validate database;
    restore validate controlfile;
    exit
    Saturday the incr level 0 was done without any issues, but next day while running level1 it should take the level0(Saturday) as base, but here it shows that '*no parent copy or data file found* ' and it again takes the full backup.
    Please let me know if I did anything wrong. Also my retention policy is set to RETENTION POLICY TO RECOVERY WINDOW OF 8 DAYS and my controlfile_record_keep_time is 7.
    Please help me
    Thanks,
    Priya

  • Tape backups "stuck" in controlfile

    At one point, there was a tape backup device configured and working. This tape device has since been removed, but there are still backups that were done to tape that are in the controlfile. These backups are quite old and rman knows they are obsolete, but it can't delete them, since the tape device (and channel) no longer exists.
    I have tried many ways of trying to delete them, but I consistently end up with the same result of:
    RMAN-00571: ===========================================================

    RMAN-06091: no channel allocated for maintenance (of an appropriate type)
    I am able to allocate a channel type of disk, but not sbt because it is not there, so I am having trouble getting rid of these entries. Any help is appreciated. Here is my configuration:

  • How to reset (target) Windows Backup

    If I setup a brand new 2012 R2 server and setup a Backup Schedule it all works fine. As long as I NEVER touch it.
    On one machine I changed the target to a better location.
    The whole backup seems to be at the new target, I can mount the virtual drives and see everything.
    But if I point the Restore wizard at it, it sees NOTHING. No backup found.
    If I point it at the original target it's fine.
    How do you "RESET" it.

    Hi,
    How do you change the backup target?
    In Windows Server Backup we have 3 options "keep current backup destination", "add more backup destination" and "remove current backup destination". In my test I added a new destination and removed the old destination, after performing a backup, all backups
    still exist in choosing Recover - "This Server" - even the restore points in the old location I removed.

  • Need to restore full system from wireless TM backup...

    Yesterday, my hard drive crashed on my MacBook, took it in, and the helpful folks t the Apple Store quickly replaced it. Now I've been doing regular backups using Time Machine and a USB connected hard drive for several months now. I've restored individual files several times, but this is tyhe first time I need to do a full system restoration.
    The problem lies in that the version of Leopard I have a disk for is 10.5... That does not recognize wireless hard drives. The fresh hard disk put in my computer yesterday had 10.5.1, which still does not recognize hard drives. So I had to set up my mac and then try to use Migration Assistant.
    Well, Migration Assistant sees my hard drive, but then goes on to tell me "0 Time Machine backups found." I'm getting that sick feeling that I've just lost the better part of a year's worth of data. I know the data on the backup is good (as have as recently as last Saturday used it in Time Machine), but if it cannot be accessed, then it is clearly of no use.
    Hooking the disk up USB directly to the computer does not work either...
    Can anyone be of assistance?

    I would try updating the Macbook to 10.5.3, and install any Time Machine and Airport updates (don't worry about iLife, etc.). Hopefully, your Mac will find the Time Machine drive after updating and you can restore. A note about system restores and Time Machine: after reverting to a previous backup, Time Machine needs to create a whole new backup set, so it will delete a LOT of old backups to make room for a full backup (at least that's what it did on my iMac).
