No  Bars In field monitor

The only way I can get to bars in the field monitor is by turning on blue button. Then blue only comes on when blue setting is clicked off. Making it nearly impossible to calibrate the field monitor. I am using Vista, but this problem only arose recently. Anyone having the same problem? May try re-installing but hear a lot of horror stories about that route as well. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Yup, tried restarting, rebooting etc.
Guess I will go the deactivate and re-install route and see what happens. After all, things were fine until recently. I am wondering if this is yet another "peculiarity" of Vista since when launching the app I now get a message that the Windows "scheme" has been changed due to incompatibility with a running program. Don't know why that would affect the color bars though. May be time to break down and scrounge the money for a Firestore. Not exactly the solution I was hoping for:>(
Anyway thanks for the input Mark. If I figure anything out I will post.

  • NO COLOR in Field Monitor of Adobe OnLocation

    CONFIGURATION:
OnLocation CS3 (Trial), with XP Home SP2, Dell Dimention 4400, and NVidia AGP GeForce 5200 128MB video card, and 21" Optiquest Q110 monitor.
Video card supports 2 monitors analog (DB15) and DVI. In my configuration only analog output and single monitor is connected. There is also standard FireWire 1394 port where camera is connected. All works fine...
    THE PROBLEM:
... except BARS and live feed image from camera, are always displayed in BLACK and WHITE (no color) but BLUE BARD are displayed in BLUE shades cirrectly. Monitor was callibrated and adjusted properly with NVidia settings (contrast, brightness, gamma, etc.) and all other applications are displayed in COLOR properly.
    NOTES:
I understand that Field Monitor use overlay to display images, it should work OK as other video applications using overlay display work properly (e.g. Windows Media Player).
    QUESTION:
What are technical reguirements for video (cards/monitors) to work properly with OnLocation as I couldn't find ANY information on Adobe website or anywhere else. Or, if anybody had similar problem and would like to share solution I would appreciate.

All turned out OK. It was just wrong setting for Field Monitor.
Everything works properly and live feed is now in full COLOR.

What do you mean by dynamically? When yo set up a 2D bar code field you specify which field name/value pairs you want to include, along with other parameters. But be aware that they won't work with Reader unless you Reader-enable the document with LiveCycle Reader Extensions and include the bar code usage right. It will work with Acrobat Standard/Pro.

  • Mac Book Pro as field monitor?

Would it be possible to use the Mac Book Pro (the new 15" or 17") as a field monitor when shooting with a Sony PMW-EX3?
That would be neat to use the screen as a field monitor, then edit on the same machine...
Wouldn't that save in not having to have a monitor for the director?
If possible, how could it be done?
    Thanks!

  • Remove menu bar from second monitor maverick

Hi, Can i Remove menu bar from second monitor maverick ?
    Thanks

Apple has sort of screwed up the whole full-screen / multi-screen features of OSX. I get it's hard to achive it all in a "perfect way" for everyone but the so called "improved" multi-screen features of 10.9 add a number of issue on top of the "fixes".
    1. Switching between apps with CMD + TAB is bugged with using 10.9 screen-setup. The OS doesn't understand what screen I'm using and the CMD + TAB feature shows up on screen 1 or screen 2. The only way I've found to controll this is by activating the DOCK on either screen which is a very bad solution.
    2. Spotlight searching always follows the "active" screen. At least 10.9 understands what screen is my active one but in this case I never ever want screen 2 to have Spotlight on it. Very irriting.
    3. Remembering application positions. If I open an app from the dock on screen 1, place it on screen 2 close it and again open it from the dock on screen 1 the app will open on screen 1 and not screen 2. Some apps will remember certain windows on the correct display. A solution is to open the app from the dock on the display you want it on. Very irritiating.
    4. Swiching between apps is also bugged. Concider I have mail on screen 2 and a new mail window on screen 1. I CMD + TAB to Safari on screen 2 after starting to write the new mail on screen 1. No problems here. If I now howvever CMD + TAB back to mail, the last active window (new mail window on screen 1) won't be active. Very irritating.
As noted above, going back to what we had in 10.7 and 10.8 solves these issues but doesn't solve Apples horrible fullscreen app issues. I'd go as far as saying Apple hasn't really fixed anything in 10.9 - only cause more issues and confusing behavoir. Fullscreen apps are often very lacking in funktion, having safari or mail fullscreen renders them on a large screen very very limited compared to "maximized". It's also very confusion that you are required to travel between virtual desktops to use full-screen apps. I personally would prefer the option of "layered fullscreen apps". For example VLC allows me to work this way.

  • OLCS3 Field Monitors display black video in single display

I am using OL CS3 on WinXPSP2 with Canon HV20 camcorder on FireWire to my Lenovo T60 laptop, and had some success in getting clips recorded yesterday. However, no luck today. The Field Monitors do not show the live video feed, but remain black.
I rebooted my laptop, plugged in FireWire port (in an Adaptec PCMCIA card), started OL, and turned on HV20 camcorder. In OL, the Canon HV20 is listed in the Devices list, and selecting it causes Field Monitor to display text label "canon hv20 camcorder". The Field Monitor(s) still show black video...while the camcorder display shows the live image.
My laptop has only the integrated LCD panel display in use (as at boot time), the video adapter is ATI Radeon Mobility X1400 which does support dual displays. I used ATI Catalyst sw to check the video settings, which indicate there is only one display in use, it is not running clone mode or extended desktop, and the video overlay is set to show in Standard Dual Mode (which indicates video would show on both Main display and Secondary displays in original source video aspect if two displays were in use).
I read the Adobe knowledge base kb402180 "Field monitor does not display video when used on a computer with dual monitors (OnLocation CS3)" but it does not seem to solve my problem.
I can use Premier Pro CS3 to capture video I recorded to tape on the HV20 using the same hw setup. So it seems the FireWire link is okay, the camera can push a video stream on it, and so I remain suspicious of the video overlay settings. Only other thing is maybe the camera is not pushing live video stream to the FireWire cable? I'll check on that.
    Anyone have any help?
    Thanks,
    Patrick

    Brooce,
Thanks for the tip on the bug form...that is great.
As it turns out, I ran a parallel request into the Adobe support forum, and Erik H got me the answer to this problem yesterday....I found that deleting the appProps.xml file in C:\Documents and Settings\(your user folder)\Local Settings\Application
    Data\Adobe\OnLocation CS3 solved my problem.
    MY GUESS
I use my laptop with dual external displays most of the time, but while trying to record with On Location I only use the integrated LCD panel while in the studio. I am guessing that OL gets confused if I happen to run it in both of these hardware configurations....the appProps.xml could get written with dual displays in my office and then OL might expect them even though the current hw config is a single panel while in the studio.

  • Ref. field monitor in IW28

    Hi,
In IW28 selection screen at the end there is a field Ref. field monitor  for traffic light display in the results
Where we are customizing the Ref. field monitor ?
    Thanks

Sorry, but there is no customising for this setting - its hard coded.
If you are using ECC6, then you may be able to use the Enhancement Framework to make some changes

  • Can OnLocation be used as a field monitor only (no recording)?

    Hi,
My laptop is to slow to record HDV but I would like to use onlocation as a field monitor without recording to the laptop. Is this possible? I can't find any info in the manual. It would be a lot easier for our client to monitor the shoot on the laptop then on the cameras LCD.
    Thanks

It certainly can be used for such purposes.

  • Bar Code Field changes to Text Field

Acrobat Pro 8.1.2  Windows 7 Pro
I have a form with a bar code field.  Once the file is saved and re-opened the Bar Code field changes to a text field.  Any clues why this would happen?

No special font.  I dont think its an option for the Bar Code field
Just discovered though that it happens when I use the same field in a page template.  As soon as I create a template with the Bar Code filed and save the file, it changes it to a text field.

  • Flip Vertically - Field Monitor and captures in CS5

    Hi,
I am using a Redrock micro M2 lens adapter on my Canon XH A1 (without the expensive flip accessory), and so the picture is inverted.  I noticed that in OnLocation CS3, there is an option to flip the image vertically in the field monitor to correct this.  However, I have OL CS5.5 and this feature doesn't seem to be there, or at least I can't find it.  Anyone know how to flip the image vertically in the OL field monitor?  Further to this, will the actual captured files be made flipped as well, or would it just be in the monitor?  Appreciate any help.
    Thanks,
    Dan

  • SX50 HS with Field Monitor

    Hi,
Is it possible to connect the SX50 HS during shooting to an external Monitor via the HDMI output and do the composing / focusing on the much bigger screen?
Unfortunately I have no Mini-HDMI cable to test, so before I invest in cable and monitor I prefer to ask.
    Thanks
    Robert

CHDK does have Remote options for using several controls, but none for viewing live streams which I'm assuming what is meant by the OP - yes? I've been all over the CHDK PDF and there isn't a mention of streaming being made available to see better the Focussing and so on. Is there a loupe "shroud" that one of the Hoodman options:
    http://www.hoodmanusa.com/prodinfo.asp?number=h-lpp3
    http://www.hoodmanusa.com/cvp.asp
OK, I just tried with a mini to standard HDMI to my pro field monitor, which I do use with my Canon XF300, but to test I lashed it up to my SX50  - and no. I can't get a live stream from the SX50 output to see, only on Viewing previously captured work through Review. Nothing live.
    Grazie

  • Black bars appeared around monitor and resolution is at max

Black bars appeared around monitor and resolution is at max, haven t noticed them before there s must be something with the graphic card... it s like the screen shrunk...

This is another screenshot, from what I know normally macbooks don t have black borders around, the screen just fully fill the monitor space...

  • Black Bars in Program Monitor - Why?

Todd Kopriva, from Adobe, has just done a nice TUTORIAL, addressing "black bars," around the image in the Program Monitor. Todd uses PrPro CS 5.5 for his demo, but nearly everything, save a few mechanical differences, will apply to other versions of PrPro, and also PrE. The concept is exactly the same, really for almost any NLE (Non Linear Editor) program. If you get into the mechanics, and realize that you cannot find something that Todd mentions, it's either not in your version of Premiere (like Sequences in PrE - there, think about Project Presets instead), or is located elsewhere, and you need to consult your program's Help File.
For a little more info on PAR (Pixel Aspect Ratio), that Todd touches on, see this ARTICLE.
Remember, some of the mechanics might be different in your version of Premiere, but the concept is exactly the same.
Hope that this explains those black bars, where they came from and how to address them.
    Hunt

As Jim's answer indicates, some codecs enforce specific dimensions. Most relevant here is the fact that codecs intended for television are strictly constrained to the sizes for television standards. You have chosen an NTSC (National Televison Standards Council) codec in the Video Codec menu, which gives a rather strong hint that this is one such constrained codec.

  • Dual Monitors: Grey bar on #2 monitor ('09 iMac)

I have a 2009 24 inch iMac running Mountain Lion. All updates. I am using a Dual Monitor. On my #2 monitor there is this annoying grey bar at the top of the screen. No matter what I try...it will not go away! I tried multiple wallpapers, no wall paper, multiple resolutions....I evern tried another monitor. Yet it stays and haunts me! I have attached a photo. Help or ideas would make me a happy man!
    Many thanks!

You know...that is a great idea. Although it is a brand new installation with no plugins installed yet...I was going to try it. I had restarted the machine for the heck of it this morning and *poof* it was gone!
I had calibrated the monitor just before I saw the grey bar. I don't understand how that could have caused the issue...but... *shrug*.
I am an Apple certified support tech so it really drove me nuts I could not figured it out. I asked the question before I dug into troubleshooting (I was getting ready to go to sleep). But safe boot is always a great way to try something. I had reset the P-RAM, btw and it made no difference. If it comes back I will be back!
Googling I couldn't find much in the way if situations similar to mine. That is why I took the screencap.
Thanks again for your help! Cheers!

  • Scroll bar in field of custom Infotype

    Hi,
I have created an infotype with some fields in it. I want one of the field as 'Description' field into it and it should have a scroll bar in it.
Please suggest how to create a field with a scroll bar.
The field should be capable of having 300 characters and should have 30 characters in each line.
    Thanks,
    Parul

    Hi Parul,
For this you may have to use the concept of SAP TextEdit Control while designing the screen. You will also have to use classes and use logic for using such kind of text box.
