No Beeps, No Picture, One Sad Doughnut

Put one stick of memory into the machine. I have seen some motherboards that will do exactly what you describe if there is no memory installed.

Here is the scoop. I started with a new outfit recently and the first day I got asked by one of the other guys to take a look at a machine he was trying to fix. I guess this thing was spontaneously rebooting itself whenever it wanted and eventually just stopped displaying things on the monitor and gave no beeps on startup. So he replaced the motherboard (not my first go to but whatever).
After he replaced the MoBo it gives no beeps and nothing on the monitor still but the fans are spinning (they were before.). So I take over on the machine.
So I first think maybe a possible power issue. I grab a new power supply out of storage and replace it. Still same, no beeps nothing on the monitor. I've taken it down to bare minimum, no ram, no pci devices, no hdd, still no beeps but the fans spin.
Any ideas...?

Are you certain that they are both running IOS 6.1.3? Go to Settings>General>About, and check the "Version".

Welcome to the Apple Community.
The easiest thing to do would be to sign into your iTunes account on your computer, connect your phone and sync. iTunes should copy anything from your phone that isn't already in your library on the computer.

DUAL MONITOR BUG: One Picture – One Monitor – Different Colors!

There have been several threads discussing that Photoshop CS4 and OS 10.6. show wrong colors in dual monitor setups.
The first one to prove this with a screen capture was jb510-LJ0JJQ in August 2009: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2207312#2207312
Eight months and three OS updates later the problem is still there and makes professional work with more than one monitor a nuisance.
Here's another actual example: A picture and its 100% identical copy showing different colors on one screen!
Here's how to repeat it – try this at home ;-)
1) In the finder make a copy of a rgb picture.
2) Open one of the two identical pics in photoshop.
3) Drag it to the other monitor.
When releasing the mouse button you may see the bug already: the colors will "switch".
4) To verify this go to system presets - monitors - and change the primary monitor (by dragging the menu bar to the other)
5) Now open the identical copy you made in step 1) and see the difference!
Here's a synopsis of suggested workarounds:
1) disable open GL (which seem to makes no difference on my setup)
2) click "desaturate monitor colors" but set desaturation to 0 (which prevents visual switching in step 3) (only if openGL is ON) but also leads to a wrong display in step 4+5
3) make the hardware calibrated monitor your default monitor and strictly avoid changes or dragging pics to the other monitor (which seems to be the only reliable method)
4) some guys even force both monitors to use the profile of their hardware-calibrated monitor (using color sync) to make sure they see what they should see on at least that one monitor. What a stone-age workaround for the the world's leading imaging program!
Considering that reliable colors in professional (=multi monitor) settings should be the most basic function of photoshop this mayor malfunction should be solved with CS5! Otherwise we might have to live with it for some more years...
Have Adobe and Apple realized this bug and on their agenda? Will it be gone with OS 10.6.3? Can anyone explain the reasons for this bad bug? Is there a "officially" recommended workaround?

But man, this is no minor bug! Consistent colors are the by far most important basic function of photoshop. If you cannot rely on the colors in photoshop you can as well use "Preview" and "Word" for print production ;-)
Carson, how did Apple react to your complaint? What do you mean with "they don't get it". Do they not see it? Or can't they get it right?
Shall we open a thread at apple forums to point out that it's not the problem of a single user?

Doc library - 3 columns of type Hyperlink or Picture - one of them suddenly doesn't work

I have a doc. library with various columns (metadata) - 3 of them is of the type "Hyperlink or Picture".
Suddenly, I'm not able to insert a link in one of them. When clicking 'OK' - I return to doc.library, and the link is not there. No errors. Nothing. I'm able to test the link - and also able to insert the same link in one of the other "Hyperlink or
Picture" columns.
Can anyone help?

Hi,
Columns of type Hyperlink or Picture are used to store a hyperlink to a Web page or to display a graphic on the intranet or Internet.
Does your Columns with the same Format URL? Hyperlink or Picture?
If your column is with Picture Format URL, you can't directly add picture into "Hyperlink or Picture" column because this column takes URL value and image is binary etc. You can first upload that picture into picture library (create new picture
or document library) then add that image link into that column.
Besides, I suggest you create a new document library with the same 3 columns of type Hyperlink or Picture and compare the results. if the issue doesn't exists in other library, you can delete the issue column and create a same column in the document library.

One one image, then use File>Place to import as many images as you need.

How can I make a tent with two halves of the info ( and pictures one direction and the other half the opposite direction ( towards each other of course)

How can I make a table tent in PAGES with both halves of the info and pictures turned towards each other? I can figure out how to turn just the picture upside down AND the text sideways, but not upside down with the picture included so that it is at the top and not the bottom!

Layout the picture and text (in text boxes) the way you want them in the lower half of the page. Then Select All and Group them. With the Group selected, type Cmnd+D to duplicate it and then hold down the Shift and Command keys and grab a corner box (you’ll see a double headed arrow) and rotate the box until it’s upside down. (Holding down the Shift key will constrain the rotation to 45 and 90 degree positions.) Now drag the box into position in the top half of the page.

HT1766 I have an album in my photos which I am unable to delete even after doing a back up. Other albums automatically delete but not my picture one which is listeed as being from my computer. Any tips on how to delete these would be appreciated. Thanks.

[urgent] using a mask to put to pictures one other the other

Hi
I have two images: the first is the original, the second is blurred to remove the halos around the over-sharpened edges.
Having the following mask, I would like to put the two images ons over the other. The original picture should appear in the black area and the blurred picture should appear white (transparent) area. Please click on the picture, else the white areas aren't visible.
How to do this with photoshop CS4?
I tried this but I find now way to put the mask in the same layer as the second picture.. I can only add it in a third layer.

This picture is part of a video indeed.. I would like to do the superposition for each frame of the video.. by scripting.

I imported events from iphoto into aperture and aperture is showing 2 photos for each picture, one original and one edited although none of the photos from iphoto had been edited. Any idea why this has happened and what I need to do to prevent this.

I imported several events for iPhoto into Aperture3 and in Aperture it shows two photos for each photo imported, one original and one edited although none of the photos imported were edited. Why has this happened and what do I need to do to prevent this in future. I have only recently got Aperture and am trying to learn as I go along using the Focal Press guide. Thanks for any help.

Quickly, what I found is that only the ones I did actual adjustments on brought over two images. Images that were simply rotated, had "quick fixes" or "Effects" did not bring in two images. More importantly, among the ones with adjustments that did bring in two images, the ones with the keyword "iPhoto Edited" appear to be nothing more than iPhoto's 6MB JPEG Previews. The master was a 25MB RAW image.
I don't know why some users are experiencing doubles on everything, but I recommend caution in deciding which ones to remove or you may find yourself deleting masters and keeping previews.

Account hasn't been charged-"Order could not be found." = One sad day. Help?

That's my order number(s). I ordered today at about 8 am, and nothing has been charged to my checking account. Also, everytime I try to check my order status, it gives me the lovely, "Order could not be found." - message. Should I be worried?

My exported slideshow plays the music correctly but the slides stop and return to picture one.

Is there any way I can assure the exact duplication of my slideshow when exported?

Was this slideshow create directly in and exported directly from an album or did you create a slideshow project and do the export from there? How many photos in the slideshow?
Are you able to view the photos at or near the 15th slide photo in full size or in the edit mode? In other words see if any of the photos in the slideshow give an error message when viewing in the full size mode or the edit mode.

I'm using an iPhone 4. I used to be able to send more than one picture at a time to another iPhone. Now I get messages that it cannot be delivered. What's going on?

While on vacation in Canada in July I started having trouble sending more than one pix at a time to other users. I don't recall having this problem before. Is there a limit on the number of pictures you can send via text? I wonder if I messed up some settings while I was in Canada. I had things set so that I could not receive phone calls so I wouldn't get charged. Could I have messed up text / multimedia settings as well?

We want your phone working just as well now as it did before your trip, sngbrd9. Are you trying to send the pictures to other Apple users using iMessage or are they being sent through MMS/picture messaging? Are you able to send pictures one at a time to those same contacts without an error? Did you change any settings in your camera to have HDR now instead of a slightly lower resolution with a smaller file size?
