No benefit for loyalty

I have been a Verizon wireless customer for a long time and currently have 3 phones on the service. As with most customers I've been upgrading phones as my kids grow up and their technology needs/wants change. However, after on online chat with a sales rep this morning I find myself wondering why I stay with VZ at all. In December I upgraded my son's phone to an iPhone 4S for a cost of $49.99 ($99.99 - $50 discount for continuing my service) + $30 upgrade fee. Three months later I tried to do the same thing thing for my daughter and was told it would now be $99.99 + $30 fee because they've done away with the $50 'loyalty' discount. You charge ridiculous rates for service, you apply phantom 'upgrade' fees, and you do away with loyalty discounts. Do you have any desire to hold onto long term customers?

My explaination of all the fee's was completely rediculous. Verizon told me "It's because of the economy" that is why the activation fee is no longer to be waived, the loyalty has gone away as well, and oh by the way there is no longer unlimited data available.
I guess the economy has made a complete 180 and all the other retail stores including Walmart have yet to see it.
In my opinion. All this is complete crap. If Verizon wanted to completely wipe out all the other competition they would not take this road. They are leaving the door open for future competition.
Verizon's advantage is the fact that they do have superior coverage, but as soon as someone else comes along that is equal to or better everyone will jump ship.

Cancelled my Windows Azure Benefit for Visual Studio Premium with MSDN by mistake, and now?

I have mistakenly cancelled my Windows Azure Benefit for Visual Studio Premium with MSDN subscription a couple of months ago not knowing what I was basically cancelling. Today I wanted to start playing around with Windows Azure when I figured this out.
I still have a valid MSDN Premium Subscription and now when I click the link to Activate Windows Azure from the MSDN Benefits page I have to create a new subscription named "Visual Studio Premium with MSDN" and on the bottom of the page I see "Windows
Azure MSDN - Visual Studio Premium".
I the "Visual Studio Premium with MSDN" the one that I get with my MSDN subscription? I guess that the "Windows Azure MSDN - Visual Studio Premium" has been renamed.
All I see is that my "Visual Studio Premium with MSDN" has a spending limit of "75 euro" / month. This is all so confusing...

Anyway, the advantages of Smart Objects are numerous:
• multiple instances of a SO in a containing document that update simultaneously on saving an edited SO (please note that a SO once placed has no connection to the external file but resides inside the containing document)
• the possibility of placing vector content as Vector Smart Objects (though this will output as pixels)
• non-destructive application of Filters
• non-destructive application of transformation, warp, puppet warp (not all of these are available for Vector SO, but by converting such a one to a regular SO they become applicable)
• combination of elements of different color spaces
• the ability to Replace Contents of SO (for example when faking as-of-yet non-existent products by mapping packaging design elements onto images of a blank container and the design is likely to change)
• Stack Modes for certain combinations of photographic images

Is there any benefit for me to use smart previews if my Lightroom 5 catalog, previews and media are all on the same external USB HD?

I keep everything on 1 External USB3 HD so that I can pug it into my Mac at home or my PC at work and just keep working without syncing anything to the local machine. So is there any benefit with Smart Previews in this case? I heard somewhere that it might make the Develop module a little quicker, but is this only when using the Smart Preview and not the full res image?

Lr uses smart previews instead of ACR cache for initial develop-module view when photos are online - amount of benefit is, in my experience, very minor (not noticeable without using a stop-watch..).
But if photos are offline, you may experience more substantial savings.
Note: smart previews are reduced resolution - smart previews of raw files are 2560 x (say) 1920, so if your original raws were say 5120 x 3840, then you/Lr are dealing with 1/4 the number of pixels when editing via smart previews.
Anyway, if you are willing to give up zoom for one edit pass, you can resize the smart previews so 1:1 fits in your allotted display space (e.g. 1280 x 960, which would be 1/8 number of pixels..), e.g. using the PreviewExporter plugin - then things may be significantly faster in develop module. PreviewExporter also has a feature to take originals offline, and put them back online.
To be clear: the amount of savings may or may not be dramatic - how much there is depends on your system, size of raw vs. smart preview image, number and type of edits applied, etc..
Why don't you try it and tell us what you think?!

Questionnaire for Loyalty Management

HI Experts,
I have created a Questionnaire for Membership Object.
Now i need to store the questionnaire with link to the Membership Object.
Also i need to show the Questionnaire Assignment Block for the membership Object (Component LOY102H_MSH)
First Question:
Is it possible to use questionnaire for other object apart from One Order? As membership Object is part of Loyalty Framework(Marketing)?
Second Question:
I saw that the Component ICCMP_SURVEY is linked via BTADMINH.
So does that mean i need to create a One Order Activity first and then use it to link the memberhsip to the Questionnaire?
Can anyone help in this regard?

Hi Gaurav,
The component ICCMP_SURVEY specifically provides questionnaires UI for one order objects. So, you can't use it directly with a membership object. However, it might still be possible to link a membership to a questionnaire on web UI by using a one-order activity. You can refer to any one-order object component to see how ICCMP_SURVEY component can be used for this purpose.
Otherwise, you will have to build your own component to link membership object with survey.

STEPS TO CREATE A MEMBER FOR LOYALTY PROGRAM

I am currently trying to set all the necessary steps to create a simple scenario in order to understand the functionality of loyalty. Until now, I have created a loyalty program, a RewardRule Group and a RewardRule, However, i don´t know which steps should i follow to create and assign a member into a loyalty program.
1. Obviously, I have to create the member first, but, if I need to use a private account that already exist, to be assigned as a member, should I enter a specific role in the assigment role block inside the private account ?.A consultant told me that we have to use the role u201CMemberu201D, but this role doesn´t exist in our sytem
2. Once the member has been created, should i assign it into a membership , using the member ID created in the previous step?.
3.Other steps?

Hello,
As far as I am aware, a member is just a standard individual/corporate account and Membership represents the participation of an individual account (natural person) in a loyalty program. I don't think any additional role needs to be maintained for a member to be added to a membership. If you want to create a new member, it would be equivalent to creating a new account.
So the step should be to just create a membership and during creation, from the F4 help, you can choose the account you want to assign to this membership and also the Loyalty Program can be chosen from the DDLB.
There are different types of membership available such as Standard Membership , Shared Account Membership
Group Membership for which you can go through the documentation in SMP or help.sap.com.

I have a requirement like.. Employee is doing foreign tour for official purpose. He has a privileage to take some amount as a advance in Foreign currency in abroad.
If he continues in abroad more than 182 days as per our indian tax laws and under section 80RRA, he will get the Tax benefit on the amount which is drawn in foreign currency.
In SAP i could not found details for tax benefit under section 80RRA,
Thorugh section 80, I can give details of foreign income, but no tax benefit.
Can you guide me..........

Table for loyalty management reward rule with description

Hi All,
Could anybody of you please tell me which is the table where I can see the reward rule ID along with its description?. Or at least where the description comes from?.
Please note that,
CGPL_PROJECT is the table which has reward rule id but no description.
I found the type of description CRM_MKTPL_IB_RRL_TEXT via GENIL_MODEL_BROWSER. However this is not used in any tables.

What is the benefit for geting minimac server?

What would one use the server OS for?
I pruchased the MiniMac Server, for the two 1Tb hard drives. I need to run Maverics on one, and Windows 7 on the other (for my needed PC based work software).
Can one link both respective email programs together?
What about iTunes, can I have just one library to be used my iTunes in both operating systems?

As far as I'm aware,the drives are the only real difference.
If Gaming isn't the purpose of the PC side, than I'd consider these rather than Bootcamp so you can run both OSX & Widows at the same time...

Just want to know why encourage customer to move to the Cloud ? Let say, customer running all services in on-premises such as Exchange, Lync and SharePoint. And then we push them move to the cloud, if the cost more cheaper, what happen with the H/W on premises

It depends on the type of business. If your application requires frequent scaling ; scaling up etc, if its on premises, it involve a lot of time and cost. You would need to invest more on hardware, calling support etc. And in another case, if your application(website)
is using by a rapid number of users, overnight or weekend , then you can't scale so easily if its an onpremise hosting. In Azure, you can scale up as you like with the click of the button, and you are paying only for what you use.
Naturally if you move to Azure, the onpremises providres like HP, Dell etc has less roles ...

NVIDIA Tesla C1060 - any benefit for CS6?

Hello all
I'm posting this to the CS forum because I might get a more comprehensive answer - or not.
We have a couple of custom made workstations that have NVIDIA Tesla C1060 headless GPU processing cards in them. The company has decided not use the software that these machines were build to run, leaving some very nice processing hardware (the cards) to basically spin away the time doing nothing. I was thinking of pulling one of these things out and plugging it into my Photoshop workstation (win7 64, 24gb ram, CS Design Premium and Lightroom). If I did this and just fired the machine up could I expect any performance improvements from my Adobe apps? Anything AFA tweaks or things in the future makes a move like this worth it?
I read alot about NVIDIA GPU processing for Premiere Pro and After Effects, would this hardware help those programs out (I have those @home)? Seems a waste to have these things essentially doing nothing...

Nope. That card is not supported in any Adobe program. Other than adding a tiny slice of processing power on a more generalised CUDA/ OpenCL level in Photoshop or Premiere Pro (with the tradeoff being that it may disable the more specialized Mercury Playback Engine in PPro and assuming there are no driver issues) I don't see it doing anything for you. Would probably make more sense if the company just gave them to some university computer science lab so students can experiment with CUDA and that...

you're right. SAP is coming up with a new tool called SAP Promotion Management for Retail. Basically, the tool provides a solution for the planning of promotions including the creation of a flyer.
SAP Promotion Management is a separate solution with interfaces to SAP ERP to get Master Data from the ERP System and to create promotions after the promotion planning is finished. If I remember correctly, the interfaces are provides with EHP4.
