No bitrate larger than 10 Mbps for MPEG-4/H.264?

I copied the template "HD 1080p Video Sharing" and changed the file format from "Quicktime" to "MPEG-4". The slider for the bit rate goes only to 10000 kbps. When I type in i.e. 20000 kbps then the following error rises:
"Maximum exceeded3. Please provide a valid value".
According to the H.264 specification this bit rate (and higher) should be possible (MPEG-Streamclip has no problems with this bit rate).
I need the MPEG-4 file format because my Playstation cannot play Quicktime files. My workaround for now is
1) Convert to the file format Quicktime.
2) Change the container (but not the encoding) to MPEG-4 with the program "remux".
Compressor should be not so restrictive IMHO.

I just came on to the message boards here with the EXACT same question. Why can I create a 50 Mbps h264 file as an MOV but not as an mp4!?! Anyone?

  • How Do I Prep Larger Than 4K "Stills" for Final Cut Pro?

    Gentleman,
Im having a problem exporting my sequence because there is a JPEG which has RGB Color Space that is larger than 4K and apparently Final Cut Pro only will export images that are 4K or Smaller. How do I reduce the size of this Images Color Space to be under 4K so I can Work with it in Final Cut Pro 7 ?

You should be able to resize it in just about any photo/image editing software such as Photoshop, Preview, iPhoto and many others.

I am completely new to Adobe Acrobat Pro 9. I need to know how to create a PDF which is larger than 129 inches for use on a plotter from MS Project 2007. I have searched the Adobe support articles with no success. Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Thank you.  I have tried that but it will only let me go to 129 X 129 inches, no larger.

  • My MBP has started to send out TCP packets larger than the MTU on the NIC - is there any place that this can be overriden?

Got a very weird issue here and wondering if anyone has any other ideas. Basically over the wired NIC only, my Mac has started to send out large HTTP/HTTPS packets from the browser (> 1500 bytes) Captures show packet sizes from 2000 all the way to 4000 sometimes. This happens in Firefox and Chrome so doesn't appear to be application related.
This causes fragmentation issues and traffic drops which basically causes most of my websites and  tools to crash and burn (and I get all sorts of SSL errors from applications, etc).
It appears to be limited to just TCP packets as pings with the DF bit set will not send any larger than 1500 bytes.
However if I switch to wireless, everything works fine and captures show the correct maximum packet size of 1500 for all packets leaving my client.
The MTU on the  en0 interface is 1500 as per ifconfig and I made sure that it was set to 1500 in Network config panel (because there is an option for jumbo frames there which bumps up the MTU).
A packet capture also shows that during the three way handshake the TCP MSS is successfully sent and negotiated as 1480, but then it appears to ignore that when sending packets later in the TCP stream.
I've rebooted, upgraded to 10.7.4, checked the "sysctl" outputs and matched against a Mac not having the issue.
This is the newest MBP 15 inch model.
Any other ideas on things to check?

Have you used any sort of "tuner" software? You are obviously an advanced user. Sometimes we hack things up and forget about it later. If you are sure you didn't do that, maybe poke around with IPv6 settings. Supposedly people are trying to enable that and it is going to be a disaster.

  • Get-MailboxFolderStatistics for mailbox with items larger than 25MB

    Hi all,
try to get mailboxfolderstatistic for all mailboxes that contains items larger than 25 MB With the following command:
Get-mailbox -Resultsize Unlimited | get-mailboxfolderstatistics -includeanalysis -FolderScope All

    But i get Error :
The input Object cannot be bound to any parameters for the command either because the command does not take pipeline input or the input and its Properties do not match any of rhte parameters that take pipline input.
Any ideas?Im not so good at pws.

    Hi all,
have tried all above command but when i did a check it didnt work that well. What i ended up with is following script:
    $MBX = Get-Mailbox –resultsize unlimited
    $MBX | foreach {New-MailboxExportRequest -Mailbox $_.Identity -ContentFilter {Size -gt '25MB'} -FilePath ('\\server01\pst\ ‘ + $_.Alias + '(' + $_.DisplayName + ').PST')}
Downside with this script is that it export all mailboxes to a pst file.Inside its structure of users folder.
Upside is that it only export mail items that are larger than 25 MB,but you will need to create a search folder to find  items larger than 25mb.
Most of pst files that are exported are less than 2mb in size.So we sorted them by size and delete everything that is less than 25MB.
We then ended up with all mailboxes that have items larger than 25MB.
So if you have over 5000 mailboxes then this wont be recomended. We had over 1200 and the export went fine over night.
Amits recomendation also probably works, but havent tested that one.
    THanks all for your help!

  • Large file handling tips Help for illustrator file larger than 3 gb

Can anyone provide advice for large file handling tips.  Help for illustrator file larger than 3 gb ie how often, when, and should I clear the clipboard? are here other tips?
    Thanks,
    Gavin

My key tip is to EXPECT corruption. Keep every save separately so you can go back before damage (which might not be visible). Don't just keep a single old file or rely on daily backups.

  • Email account folder in /user/library/mail is much larger than full mailbox archive for the same account

    Hi,
I recently changed jobs and want to archive all email (with attachments in place) for the associated work email account.  I also plan to remove the old work email account (IMAP) from the list of active mailboxes in Apple Mail.  I don't want Spotlight searches for personal or current work email cluttered with results from my old job.
I have created an archive of the old work account by doing Mailbox Archive for all of the IMAP folders for that account.  The entire archive is 1.7GB in size.
Before I delete the old account from my Mail preferences, I want to make sure that I have really exported everything.  So I've compared the size of the new archive folder with that of the mailbox folder in users/.../Library/Mail for that same account.  That latter is 8.7GB in size.  Why the enormous difference?
Can the difference be attributed to lack of compression and indices (which would be rebuilt if I import the archive) for spotlight searches?  Am I missing something in the archive that I created?
I've created a zip of the system folder.  Can I easily restore this at a latter time if I delete the email account from my Mail preferences?
Is there a better way to achieve my objective?
    Mitoids

I did find a "Recovered Messages" by looking in the the Mail client under "On My Mac" (I don't normally use that feature).  One message with an accicental 99MB attachment that I never sent, was recovered ~60times, consuming 5.7GB.
I deleted all of those, but the size ~/Library/Mail/xxxaccount folder did not change much.  It is still much larger than the Archive I created.  BTW, this is an IMAP account that was syncing with corporate GMail.

  • I cannot add nor send file attachments larger than 100k on any of my email servers from this particular PC. Is there a fix for this?

I cannot attach a file larger than 100k to any email account (gmail, aol, secureserver.net) while using Firefox. However, I can send files larger than 100k from those same accounts on this computer when using IE. Switched to Firefox from IE and would prefer to continue using Firefox, however this issue presents a problem for my business needs. Please advise. Thank you.

Well seeing as I'm running Lion on 2 GB of RAM, I can't see how upgrading the RAM will make that much of a difference.    If you are seeing launch times in minutes, it probably indicates your cache got corrupted by some third party cache cleaning software.  To see if some corruption can be fixed, first backup your data:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-1992
Then boot in safe mode, holding the shift key.  If issues persist in safe mode, run the hardware test that came with your Mac.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303081
And if that is unrevealing, and booting into safe mode doesn't solve anything, and you are backed up, try repairing the directory by:
    1. Booting into the restore partition with command-R.
    2. Selecting the installer's Utilities menu.
    3. Selecting Disk Utility
    4. Selecting First Aid
    5. Selecting the boot partition.
    6. Click on repair disk (not repair permissions)
Do NOT proceed with any install itself.  Just quit the install program
If the disk is not able to be repaired, purchase Alsoft Disk Warrior, and boot of that to repair the directory.
If it is able to be repaired, and the machine is still slow, I think you may have run into some RAM that is bad, and need to replace it, not add to it.
If Disk Warrior can't repair the hard disk, replace the hard disk itself.

  • Exchange 2013 - powershell - create search folder for items larger than 24mb

    Hi all,
is it possible to use PowerShell and create search folder in spesific mailbox that contains items larger than 25mb?
    Thanks!
Please mark as helpful if you find my contribution useful or as an answer if it does answer your question. That will encourage me - and others - to take time out to help you. Thank you! Off2work

    Ok this should be possible.
I just tested a basic idea of what you want to do on Exchange 2010 SP3. IF you need me to test on 2013 let me know.
Add the account you want to run the powershell search as to the "Discovery Management" role in AS or ECP.
This gives you access to the "search-mailbox" command. Using this you should be able to build a search that moves mail to a different folder.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/dd298173(v=exchg.150).aspx
    Thanks,
Edit: something like this would help but the target mailbox would be there own I guess
Search-Mailbox -SearchQuery “Size:>25MB” -TargetMailbox SomeMailbox -TargetFolder Export -LogOnly -LogLevel Full
Ok so I have found a issue where the command does not allow the source mailbox to be the same as a target mailbox. I dont know if this will help you then unless you go through a long process of moving the mail out then back but thats very long.
You could create a rule for this but it would have to be run manually with specific settings so I guess that might not work as user training can be difficult.
You could write a VBA macro for this and then apply it to all you machines.
Or there is a 3rd party tool that could help you called
    Auto-Mate
Sorry I could not be more helpful.
    Good luck

Is there any restriction for incoming email for site collection larger than 25G?

  • Compressor setting so it won't output a video larger than source?

    Hello.
I am sending a whole library of videos (most Apple ProRes, but varrying video dimensions based on the project) through Compressor 4 and I'm having an issue where, for some of the videos (with smaller video dimensions), the settings I'm choosing result in the transcoded videos being larger (in terms of dimensions) than the source (ie. if the source is 720p, the resulting video is 1080p).
I am using the following two settings:
    - HD for Apple Devices (5 Mbps)
    - HD 1080p for Video Sharing
Example 1 - I fed a 640 x 360 (Apple ProRes) file into Compressor 4 and selected the "HD for Apple Devices (5 Mbps)" preset. The resulting transcoded video was larger than 640 x 360 (I can't remember the actual size anymore, sorry). There is no option available, that I can see, to modify the preset to NOT create a file larger than the source?
Example 2 - I fed a 720p (Apple Animation) file into Compressor 4 and selected the "HD 1080p for Video Sharing" preset. The resulting transcoded video was 1080p. I though because the preset is marked "Up to 1920 x 1080" it wouldn't go beyond 1080p (ie. scale down anything larger to 1080p), but also thought that it would maintain the source dimensions and not enlarge a 720p source to 1080p?
Maybe this is how Compressor is supposed to work (ie. making resulting videos larger than source), but I'm hoping there's a way to modify the presets to not do this "ie. an option to not create a video with dimensions larger than the source)? Is this possible?
    Thanks,
    Kristin.

Apple devices have a standard frame size they encode to, so yes, this is how it works.

  • Is the 13inch MBP for $1199 practical for graphic design?

    Hi,
I'm wondering if someone can please advise... my wife wants to get into graphic design, and I would like to get her a laptop for a gift... I use a macbook pro 2.53 but that's not in my budget...
would the macbook pro for $1200 (13inch 2.26 2gb 160hd) be better than the macbook for 999?
do you think those specs are sufficient for running PS, Ilustrator etc..?
I'm looking for something she can use to learn graphic design on and actually do work... is 13in screen practical?
    Thanks

    Hi chaimdan,
Photoshop is actually more dependent on the CPU /RAM/HD than on the Graphic processor, so the absence of the dedicated GPU won't hurt her with the base model MBP compared to your own. It will be a little slower with Photoshop than your own because of the ten percent or so difference in CPU speed, but not much.
I'd be inclined to bump it up to 4 Gig of RAM though (i installed Corsair "MacRAM" in my own which was much cheaper than ordering the computer with the 4 Gig configuration). I found a substantial improvement with various graphics related apps after upgrading.
To connect to a large monitor you will need an adaptor - either "MiniDisplay Port to DVI" or MiniDisplay Port to VGA", depending on the monitor . Almost all current flat screen monitors will support DVI, which is the way to go if you can.
Personally I'd get the MBP rather than the MB because of the FW port. While USB is Ok for backing up, to avoid filling up her internal drive too much (Photoshop likes plenty of room to move for optimum performance) she is going to need to think about getting an external drive for storing images, or even for use as a "scratch drive" when using Photoshop, before too long. FW800 is vastly better for this sort of purpose.
    Cheers

  • The estimated project size is larger than the target media chosen

I am at a loss for trying to author a project using Adobe Encore.  I first tried to author the project using version CS2.  When attempting to export I received the following message:
"The estimated project size is larger than the target media chosen.  While this is an estimate, the project may fail to build."
I have authored hundereds of projects in the past, but have never received that message before.  I first thought that the problem was with the version of Encore I was using, but I received the exact same error when trying to author the project with Encore CS5.
The project itself has one menu, a motion menu, and one video file.  The video file last 152 minutes, and I was attempting to export that to a dual layer DVD.  I have since tried exporting the file using Adobe Premier CS5.5 using a variety of settings.  I am trying to export it to a DVD-2 file, with the match soure attributes being set to the highest setting.  The setting on the main concept MPEG encoder is set to 5. I have tried exporting the file using both constant and varaible bit rates.
When I recently exported the file using a contant bit rate of 6.5, I still had 650.4 MB remaining on my Encore project.  I still received the same error about the project size, and so I am thinking that something else is wrong.
I have even exported the video file as an uncompressed AVI file, and then tried encoding it again using both Adobe Premier CS5.5 and the Adobe Encoder.  I still get the same error message about file size.
Any help and/or suggestions about how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Using the Imgburn product worked! It also helped me figure out what the real problem was...
As it turns out, some single-layer DVDs had been mixed in with my dual-layer DVDs. I feel very foolish about this.  All of my discs are printable, and so there is no indication written as far as what their capacity is on them.
Encore can be a bit vague in identifying a problem such as this. For example, I can set the settings to plan for a dual-layer disc, and it will display a graphical status indicator with that capacity in mind. When I saw the original file message error I honestly believed that there was a problem with the encoded file instead of the type of disc itself.
Imgburn instantly displayed the discrepancy in the type of disc I had loaded and the needed capacity for the type of project that I was trying to create.
    Thanks again for your help!

  • LiDE 35 Can't scan larger than US Letter

Does anyone know how to get a CanoScan LiDE (or perhaps any scanner) to scan larger than US Letter?
I can't get a full size A4 scan in any of the built in scanning options (image capture / print & fax prefpane / preview).
The Overview prescan preview always crops the bottom couple of cm off the image, and when I try to put the actual A4 height in cm into the dimensions, I get an error sheet saying:
The value "29.7" is too big (Maximum value is 27.94).
27.94 is the US Letter height.
Canon's scanning software supports A4 alright (but has no preview), so it looks like this is some system-wide issue.

Just tried scanning with my LiDE200 and I can get an A4 scan. This is by manually dragging the preview hairlines or by entering the x-y values.
    With regards to the x-y, to check this I entered a value of 220 for the width and got this message;
"The value ”220” is too big (Maximum value is 21.60693)."
Likewise I entered a value of 300 for the length and got this message'
"The value ”300” is too big (Maximum value is 29.70107)."
So for your scanner driver to limit the scanning dimensions I wonder if you have a region setting on the Mac that is causing this? I don't really want to change settings on my MBP to test this but I did just want to let you know that A4 scanning is possible.
Also, regarding MP Navigator, if you tick the box "Use the scanner driver" and then click 'Open Scanner Driver', this will open the ScanGear window allowing you to preview the document.
