No Bluetooth hardware found. Please Help ?
Hi People
I am running Mac OS X 10.6.8 on my mid 2010 Macbook Pro 2.4 Ghz. I cant find my bluetooth hardware. Can anybody please tell me a procedure to fix it. It been a long time that I have been having this problem and even the apple guys are unable to fix this problem.

Have you attempted to reset the SMC? That would be the first step. Hold the left control, option, shift key and the power button for about 5 seconds and release. Then try to reboot. Might as well reset the PRAM as well. Hold command, option, P, R on start up until the machine restarts. If that doesnt' have any affect we'll have to dig deeper into a potential hardware failure.
If this method doesn't work, check the webcam that will tell the problem is on the iSight & WiFi cable. If your webcam is ok, then it'll be the WiFi card problem. Hope it can help ;-)

Original file could not be found ----PLEASE HELP
Hello,
I have 4,000 MP3s on an extrenal hard drive.
When I open iTunes, I would double click on a song, and it would play.
NOW, for whatever reason, when I double click on a song, a window pops up and says: +Original file could not be found, would you like to locate it?+
I then have to manually locate the song, for it to play.
I do not want to do that for 3,999 more MP3s.
I went to EDIT>PREFERENCES>ADVANCE>GENERAL andmade sure the file path is my F Drive (external hard drive) where my MP3's are.
Still no luck.
The 2 or 3 songs, that I've manually located have a speaker by the title. The other 3,900+ MP3s have and exclamation point by the title.
Can anyone PLEASE help me?I went to FILE> ADD FOLDER TO LIBRARY and selected the folder where my MP3s were.
This updated my itunes library and now allow me to play every song, but it also made a duplicate of every song.
Example:
Kanye West - Stronger
Kanye West - Stronger
1 plays and 1 doesn't.
I just have to go and delete the songs with the infront of the title. -

My work computer, G5 powermac, case was damaged. Ordered a new one, transfered all components, but now it won't start up. I am so screwed. When I plug it in, I hear a click. X201 Wireless switch Hardware problem - PLEASE HELP
Hello everyone,
I have been a regular reader of this wonderful forum and have also participated on a few questions. I have an x201 which I bought from UK 6months back.
After a smooth sail for many months and just when I thought life was going good, I have a wireless switch problem that pops up out of nowhere. I never use hardware switch and had to do it only last week because of checking for my internet connection problems.
Only once in my entire experience with this laptop that I put it off, now it has become so sensitive that even shaking the laptop while typing turns off the laptop. On reading about this problem I found out that it is quite a common problem with x-series and has many users affected from it. After confidently calling the customer support they ask me to pay 200euros just to "TAKE A LOOK AT THE PROBLEM"????. Apart from at least acknowledging the persistent problem across all the models they end up asking me to pay for everything and cannot tell me how much it will cost me or even tell me how long it will take to replace this.
Is there any other way to do this? The support told me that the only other way to repair this will be to buy the Base switch myself and then replace it. I am a biologist doing my PhD and have no knowledge of all these. Apart from all the appluad this laptop got from my colleagues, now they all think this is a joke by Lenovo to be charging for something that is entirely their mistake.
Can anyone point to a solution please and help me. I was really looking to buying an ultrabook next year but looks like replacing a switch is going to cost me 1/4th of what one would be for an entire laptop.

I have my MacBookPro(early 2008) 2,6 Ghz Intel duo. 4 Gb 15 inch, with all the updated software....It was getting slow, so I used the disk utility to check the and try to to solve problems I found this

Message was edited by: Oriol LLenaConnect the Time Machine backup drive to the iMac. If you've never started up the new iMac, then when you do you will enter the Setup Assistant where you can opt to restore from a Time Machine backup. Just follow directions.
If the iMac has already been through the Setup Assistant, then open Migration Assistant in the Utilities folder and use it to migrate from the Time Machine backup drive.
A Basic Guide for Migrating to Intel-Macs
The Knowledgebase article Intel-based Mac: Some migrated applications may need to be updated refers to methods of dealing with migrating from PowerPC chips to Intel with the Migration Assistant safely. The authors of this tip have not had a chance to verify this works in all instances, or that it avoids the 10.6.1 and earlier Guest Account bug that caused account information to get deleted upon use of the Migration/Setup Assistant. However, a well backed up source that includes at least two backups of all the data that are not connected to your machine will help you avoid potential issues, should they arise. In event it does not work, follow the steps below.
If you are migrating a PowerPC system (G3, G4, or G5) to an Intel-Mac be careful what you migrate. Keep in mind that some items that may get transferred will not work on Intel machines and may end up causing your computer's operating system to malfunction.
Rosetta supports "software that runs on the PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor that are built for Mac OS X". This excludes the items that are not universal binaries or simply will not work in Rosetta:
1. Classic Environment, and subsequently any Mac OS 9 or earlier applications
2. Screensavers written for the PowerPC System Preference add-ons
3. All Unsanity Haxies Browser and other plug-ins
4. Contextual Menu Items
5. Applications which specifically require the PowerPC G5 Kernel extensions
6. Java applications with JNI (PowerPC) libraries

In addition to the above you could also have problems with migrated cache files and/or cache files containing code that is incompatible.
If you migrate a user folder that contains any of these items, you may find that your Intel-Mac is malfunctioning. It would be wise to take care when migrating your systems from a PowerPC platform to an Intel-Mac platform to assure that you do not migrate these incompatible items.
If you have problems with applications not working, then completely uninstall said application and reinstall it from scratch. Take great care with Java applications and Java-based Peer-to-Peer applications. Many Java apps will not work on Intel-Macs as they are currently compiled. As of this time Limewire, Cabos, and Acquisition are available as universal binaries. Do not install browser plug-ins such as Flash or Shockwave from downloaded installers unless they are universal binaries. The version of OS X installed on your Intel-Mac comes with special compatible versions of Flash and Shockwave plug-ins for use with your browser.
The same problem will exist for any hardware drivers such as mouse software unless the drivers have been compiled as universal binaries. For third-party mice the current choices are USB Overdrive or SteerMouse. Contact the developer or manufacturer of your third-party mouse software to find out when a universal binary version will be available.
Also be careful with some backup utilities and third-party disk repair utilities. Disk Warrior, TechTool Pro , SuperDuper , and Drive Genius work properly on Intel-Macs with Leopard. The same caution may apply to the many "maintenance" utilities that have not yet been converted to universal binaries. Leopard Cache Cleaner, Onyx, TinkerTool System, and Cocktail are now compatible with Leopard.

Because Migration Assistant isn't the ideal way to migrate from PowerPC to Intel Macs, using Target Disk Mode, copying the critical contents to CD and DVD, an external hard drive, or networking will work better when moving from PowerPC to Intel Macs. The initial section below discusses Target Disk Mode. It is then followed by a section which discusses networking with Macs that lack Firewire.
If both computers support the use of Firewire then you can use the following instructions:
1. Repair the hard drive and permissions using Disk Utility.
2. Backup your data. This is vitally important in case you make a mistake
or there's some other problem.
3. Connect a Firewire cable between your old Mac and your new Intel Mac.
4. Startup your old Mac in Transferring files between two computers using FireWire.
5. Startup your new Mac for the first time, go through the setup and
registration screens, but do NOT migrate data over. Get to your
desktop on the new Mac without migrating any new data over.
If you are not able to use a Firewire connection (for example you have a Late 2008 MacBook that only supports USB:)
1. Set up a local home network: Creating a small Ethernet Network.
2. If you have a MacBook Air or Late 2008 MacBook see the following:

Hello - I've read through a lot on these boards and I don't quite see an answer to My problem. You folks seem helpful though, so I'm going to put Myself into your hands for assistance.
Last Friday My PC shut down out of nowhere, and wouldn't bring the OS back up. After checking a lot of things I figured out that one of My 3 memory chips got fried somehow. You don't just see this happen very often...but I guess it does. So, I went with the other 2 (still leaving Me with 1GB memory) and tried to keep on going.
Once back in Windows I started getting software errors - where it says "please send this report into Microsoft". It happened mostly with two things - My main game (City of Heroes - online game) and IE. Seemingly at random times. Once in a while the PC would also just simply reboot itself out of nowhere. I figured the OS got hurt when the memory chip blew up, and couldn't "fix" the OS no matter what I did.
So, I decided to download XP 64 Beta. Big Mistake. Not only did it take forever to get the drivers loaded, software running, etc - but I also ended up with the EXACT same problems. This was after Fdisking My hard drive and everything. So I got rid of XP64 and put XP back on. Yep...still same problems all around.
I've disconnected everything from the board (processor included) and reseeded it all. I've checked to make sure there are no loose wires, that the power cable has no crimps or frays, and that it is plugged securely into the surge protector (which in turn is plugged into a very good UPS).
Fresh build on an Fdisked drive, latest drivers for everything including all the MB stuff from MSI Live Update (BIOS as well). I simply don't know what to check any more, or what else to do without assuming that the MB is fried, and that likely being the reason why the memory blew up and the PC hard crashes now and then as well.
Also important to note: The PC ran fine for almost 3 months (when I first put it together), until now. I have not installed any additional hardware or software lately that would have caused any changes that I know of.
Here's My system specs, please let Me know if I left anything out. If there's anything else I should check please let Me know, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Right now I'm running with only one DIMM and it's not crashing. I was able to play My game last night for about 2 hours without crashing, which is a first in a while.
Now, I would of course rather run with 2 of these chips instead of just the 1, but I'm a little confused about what was said above.
I downloaded CPU-Z and I'm checking out the memory information. First off, it says My Frequency is 200.0 MHz...shouldn't this read 400? That's what I have it set at in the Bios. Here's what it says there for Memory:

I'm not sure what you meant by "3-3-3-" and "4-4-4". I don't see anything like that on CPU-Z, nor do I recall anything like that in the bios, but I'll check it. If you mean the frequency (as in 333/400) like I said above I do have that set to 400 but it's reporting in CPU-Z as 200.
DeMaxx - I'll try the #1 and #3 thing to see if that helps, but I know with 2 DIMMS in #1 and #2 I was still getting errors. I'll test now.

My EM from browser stopped working unexpectedly.
What happens is when I start login in, I can't move over login screen, no error messages displayed on browser screen. I use IE.

I did not mention to you that my pc uses dhcp and from what I read em DOES NOT like it. It likes permanent address.
I beleive I came accross of 2 problems:
1. netscape 8.1.2 is an uncompatible browser for em application.
2. name resolution does not work well with em. The proof for the last is error when I use http://n513gg0_d1:5501/em on ie, it does not trunslate it to ip address.

Each group provides multiple exampls. It's interesting that no netscape neither ie are not able to work with all JSP examples.
For now I will be working with ie for em and I beleive problem is solved - you should be progmatic because dhcp/em/browser compatibility is too much to worry as long as it works.
My only concern - and I only study oracle - that I view it as a major architectural flaw in Oracle 10 - this dependence on em windows interface.
One can say: "you can do the same from command prompt" But how many of us who is learning Oracle or who used to use an old ie will be able to use command interface efficently specially when you need to react fast?
And, if Oracle provides such a great tool and wants you to use it heavily, don't they have to provide a separate installation option for just a re-installation of em itself ?
I was about to scratch my test installation and re-install it again. Would it be an option in production environment?

Toshiba P305 major hardware problems PLease help
I have a satellite p305. The headphone jack stopped working and the touchpad and click buttons stopped working. I tried updating drivers but nothing changed. The other problem was whenever you had to programs open that produce sound (windows media player and a you tube video or similar) The audio came out staticky. This is not when trying to listen to both players at the same time, one is paused. But if you have both of them open one will be staticky. I tore the computer down to see if there was anything visually wrong with it at the headphone jack or where the click butons and touch pad plug in but found nothing. I put the motherboard back in and put it all back together and plugged it in and pressed the power button. The buttons light up and i think either the hard drive or fan spun but nothing else happened after that. Im thinking bad MOBO but i need some advise because this is a computer that i am working on for someone else and really dont want the whole you broke my computer game to be played.

One of these fixes caused several TV Tuner capture card/driver combinations using video formats other than NTSC (NTSC-J, PAL, SECAM) to no longer initialize correctly on Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003. Symptoms include loss of capture functionality and potential inability to set/retain device capture settings. This hotfix, documented further in Knowledge Base article 825116, has been issued to correct the flaw.
I believe that your SB card is sharing IRQs with your Firewire hardwares thus causing errors.
