No bookmark tool, no save & quit feature

Firefox 4 just closes & doesn't 'Save & Quit' which is a feature I WOULD LIKE RETURNED PLEASE!!!!! Also the bookmarking section is rubbish ..you now have to scroll 3 windows to get to the 'Bookmark this page' instead of just one click down. What MORON considers these rubbish features an improvement on the previous version?

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.<br />
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time.<br />
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default <b>about:home</b> Home page.<br />
Another possibility is to use:
* [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences Firefox (Tools) > Options] > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"
* "Bookmark This Page" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of that browser page.
* "Bookmark All Tabs" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of a tab on the tab bar.

  • I understand the design change to the whole "save as app" tab, but I feel that Save and Quit feature from the previous version of Firefox is much better than this "app tab" feature. Is there anyway for me to have this back?

Restore previous session button available on my Firefox homepage is great, but what I really want is the Save and Quit feature. I have always felt that its one of the best features of Firefox, second only to search address bar directly leading me to the actual page. I read some threads about this, and found the answers very unconvincing. One of the suggested ones was "Pin as app tab" . No, I don't want to pin every tab that I want to visit say, thrice as an app. Second suggestion was, click on the obvious button on the homepage to restore the tabs(this took me quite a while to actually see). Why this change in design? This is identical to Chrome's but its very inferior to what Firefox already had. Is there anyway, without downgrading of course, I can get that feature back?

Okay, I found the answer myself. Going to about:config and setting browser.showQuitWarning to true, restored that option and brought it back. Thanks to anyone who is about to post. If this is false by default, it has got to change.

  • Does v6 have a bookmarks tool bar

Does the new v6 have a bookmarks tool bar

There is '''NO''' Firefox 6.0 Alpha1 even remotely out for release yet as the sites that are jumping the gun with this (big time) are linking to the (potentially unstable) Trunk Nightly builds in the nightly directory. These particular nightlies have been labelled as 6.0a1 for quite sometime now.
These builds should have continued with the Minefield codename to show they were not even remotely release material as they also get updates each day(sometimes twice), something that actual releases do not get (go to Help->About Nightly and check for updates each day to see what I mean). In fact the builds these site are linking may change to the label of 7.0a1 in a few days as the 6.0a1 builds will move to the Aurora branch.
Those jump the gun sites should have just stuck with posting the 5.0b2 instead only but they decided to go for broke also. I am referring to sites like Betanews and the infamous for jumping the gun with Firefox builds MajorGeeks.
I do know what the 6.0a1 nightlies are like as I have been Testing them as they are meant to testers and devs and not casual users who barely understand about use of Profiles.
If you want to Test these 6.0a1 nightly builds then a place you can go to is http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=23 to discuss the development.

  • The bar that says "File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, help" has disappeared and I would like it to appear all the time.

Near the top of the screen on the left side, the words "File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, help" does not appear consistently. Sometimes if I hit "alt" they will appear. I would like to keep those words to appear constantly. Let me know what I can do. Thanks

i want to save & quit option to come up when i quit firefox

    Hi,
I just have the same problem and I found a solution in the forums but never the whole thing in one post, so I'll post it:
    First as ToneE says
    # Type about:config into the location bar and press enter
    # Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    # Locate the preference browser.tabs.warnOnClose, if its value is set to false, double-click on it to change its value to true
    # Repeat this for these 3 preferences browser.warnOnQuit, browser.warnOnRestart and browser.showQuitWarning"
    and second.
You need to set: Firefox/Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my home page".
and your favourite firefox pop up "Save and Quit" question will appear again.
If the last option is set on "Show my windows and tabs from last time" the browser want ask ou anything when you're closing it.
    ENJOY :)

I lost the tool bar on top. I can no longer see the Bookmarks, Tools, or Help links. I had them in when I began with your browser but now they're gone. How do I restore the default toolbar?

    * In Firefox 3.6 versions on Windows and Firefox 4 on Windows and Linux it's possible to hide the "Menu Bar" via "View > Toolbars" or via the right-click context menu of a toolbar.
    * Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
    * Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the "Menu Bar" or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to toggle the state).

  • Where did the "save as" feature go?

I just opened up a Pages document, after my Lion upgrade.  I want to use the orginal document, make changes and save as a new document.  However, when I clicked on "File" to go to the "Save As," I discovered it is no longer there.  Where is the "Save As" feature now.  This is, obviously, a crucial need.

    Pondini wrote:
In most cases, though, you don't need a separate file.  Just make a Version with Cmd+S.
Much faster, and takes up much less space, since it only saves the changes, not the whole document.
As a work machine processing files, folders, and graphics, in many cases I do, everyday.
Changing file name and format and still have the original to work with.
    Seems crazy to me.

  • Save As feature in JSP

    Hi there,
I have a JSP where the user needs to be shown a dialog box onclicking the "Browse" button (like the "Save As" feature on browser right click).
Currently the way I have it is that I have used Input type="file" in my form in the JSP.
But the problem is that this will not allow non-existing new filenames to be entered.
But the good thing was that I didnt have to program anything for the MS window to browse the filesystem.
Is there something like this for "Save as" or do I have to explicitly program for this.
    I'd really appreciate your help.

I am running a laptop with windows 7 and am trying to use the save as feature in Photoshop CS6 and it wont let me save as anything. Can someone please help me with this?

A screenshot of your Photoshop work area showing the open file you want to save as, the Layers panel open, and the Save as... dialog open might give us a clue as to what is going on.
To take a screenshot and save it as a file
For Windows 7, Printscreen, open a New File in Photoshop, Ctrl v to paste, then save as jpeg (the other trick was for windows 8)
Use the Camera icon on your reply to upload it.
Also File > Save for Web is a good workaround if you just need a jpeg, png, or gif.

  • Where is save as feature on Lion ?

Where is save as feature in Lion ?

I understand that in Mountain Lion (10.8), Save-As is back - but it is a HIDDEN feature. To be honest, I never got used to the Duplicate function in Lion, so I am thrilled that this may be back - it was in the beta version of Mountain Lion.
Do a Google search to find the article that discusses this - if I recall, I read it on Gizmodo. Once you find it, I think you can turn it on so that Save-As is a permanent feature, or one accessible via the Control or Option keys.
Best of luck! I am thrilled!
