No books on iBook store

All the books available on my ipad / iphone are ones from Project Gutenberg or the Yellow Submarine ibook, and no more.
What is the reason? Maybe this service is not available in my countrry (Israel)? If so, is there a way to get ibooks from other countries and publish there as well?

When you can't get something from the iBookstore, try one of the other sources which have free ereader apps for your device, such as Kindle, Nook, Kobo, or Googlebooks.

It's apparently quite difficult in the current ePub specification to do layouts that combine images and text. The Winnie-the-Pooh book is frequently held up as a very hand-crafted example not easy to duplicate. Supposedly the publishers and other concerned parties are working on updating the specification to address some of ePub's shortcomings, but what might come of that and when is difficult to estimate.

Why isn't there arabic books in iBooks store ??

i have just 1 Q : why i do not find any arabic books in iBooks store to download ??? can anyone answer me and tell me how can i make suggestions to Apple ??

Hi guys,
I made a search and I found some Arabic books on iBooks. You can search: ويكيليكس or by the publisher's name: OWNI and you'll find the book I'm talking about.
In the beginning I thought the text is posted as pictures -since iBooks doesn't support Arabic- but it's all written as a text that you can select and highlight with all the features that English books have -except the dictionary-.
Does iBooks support Arabic? I don't know, but apparently, you can publish in Arabic

Publishing my first book in ibooks store

I am facing some struggle in publishing my first paid book in ibooks store, I have applied for an iTunes connect account, filled out the form perfectly fine but haven't, however, heard anything from Apple yet. What I know is that after filling out the application online on iTunes connect, Apple is supposed to send you a contract, after signing/or agreeing which you can go ahead and publish your content. How long would Apple normally take to accept your application, and how can view the status of my application because everytime I try to sign in to iTunes connect I get this message: "Your apple ID isn't enabled for iTunes connect" and when I try to create a new iBooks account thinking maybe my application was not successfuly submitted I get: "The iTunes Store account entered has already applied to distribute content on iBooks."

Did you apply to distribute free or paid books? How long has the wait been so far? Did you create a new/unique ID just for books?
The wait varies and used to be one week or less - longer if you are outside the US, I think.
We just came off a holiday, so mabye they're working a backlog on the backend. Based on the msgs. above, it seems you're in the queue.

Publishing Book on iBook Store - How Long To Wait?

Does any good soul know how long it usually takes to a book to get published on iBook Store after it gets delivered via iTunes Producer App? I uploaded a title about 5 days back and I see that the status of my book is 'Pending'. I am quite curious if somebody has a good experience about the waiting time in his/her case. And this will be really helpful to estimate or have a speculation about nearby searchable status of the book on iBook Store after the date the book got delivered via iTunes Producer. Reply is highly appreciated.

For me its always been 5 working days.
Also make sure On the Rights and Pricing page that the Sales Start Date for the country in question is in the past and Cleared for Sale shows Yes.

What do you mean? They do show in the Purchased items in iTunes. Click on the three little dots ... to the right of the last icon showing in the top left to get the list of other iTunes categories (like books). Click on Books, and then on Purchased:

How do I remove my book from iBook store

I have a time sensitive book in the iBook store and would like to remove it. How do I remove it so that nobody can continue to download it?

IF you were not happy with the answer and considered that unlike other you could not understand it... you could have - politely- asked for a clarification.
Also.. you can contact iBooks support very easily.

Fictitious - ie not true? What really wastes time is asking questions without looking on the forum for previous posts on the same subject. Another waste of time is attacking the very folk who try to help you.
Nobody allows anything on this forum, it all done voluntarily by dedicated folk who give up their time to help others. KT is perhaps the most knowledgeable on this forum - but without FULL information he cannot be expected to know what's in your mind.
Your book and everybody who submits it to the review team for inclusion in the store and is accepted - can NEVER be removed by its author. Apple require its history for accounting and inventory purposes.
Any author can withdraw a book from the store wether its free or paid account by using iTunes connect and navigate to the Rights and territories page and de-selecting either individual countries or all.
Apple then remove it from public access.
If you want to know how to remove anything from your personal purchasing... assuming you mean books downloaded to your iPad... simply delete it and also delete it from your iTunes account. If thats not enough information - then you need to find a different forum that one dealing with iBooks Author related issues.

Does anyone know how to search for free books other than searching for "free" which brings up a lot of books that aren't free along with the free ones. It has been well over a month since I have checked, but if I remember right there used to be a "free" link down at the bottom of the iBooks Store in the Quick Links category. Where did it go?

Yep. If you go to "browse" you can click on the top right where it says "Free books"
Or, in Chart, if you page through the paid books, you get to a list of the top selling free ones.

How to list English-only books in iBooks store?

In the ibooks store, does anyone know if a setting exists that would filter out all foreign language titles? For example, if I search for an author, when their bibliography appears, a lot of foreign language titles are included that I am not interested in. Is there any way to set the iBooks store to return English only titles?

Cannot download book from ibooks store on iphone

I appear to be having a problem downloading any book within ibooks on my iphone 3g running ios4.
In one case, I have already purchased the book from my ipad and trying to redownload the book on my iphone I continue to get an message
"Sign in required, tap continue to sign in to continue synching your bookmarks with other devices"
I enter my credentials but the popup continues to appear over and over again at which point I instead hit cancel.
The book now appears to have fully downloaded but it stays 'stuck' with the progress bar filled but I do not have the ability to open the book and the progress indicator continues to spin.
This happens for both 'paid' books and 'free' books.
I tried to download the book again this time with the 'sync bookmarks' feature disabled within system preferences and the same problem happens. The book downloads with a full progress bar, but it never saves.
I tried:
- disabled sync feature
- rebooting phone
- deleting and re-installing iBooks
Thoughts? Thanks!

I am having a problem dowloading a sample of a book on ibooks store

I am able to access the store and my library but when i tap on a book to sample nothing happens.

Both the Yahoo! Toolbar extension and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause an issue like that. Disable or uninstall those add-ons.

Cannot find my book in ibooks store

If I start from here on Safari:

everything is fine. I am redirected to iBooks where I can download my successfully uploarded and checked eBook.
But, if I try to search my eBook in iBooks (and in iTunes/Books) either via my surname (Minetti) of by some keyword extracted from the title, the result window is EMPTY.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks a lot for your comments.

No problem, now everything is fine. There was just a delay between the notification about publishing the book and the entering into regional databases.
